Reviews for Sheldon Street Lodge
Review 1:A bit small.
Review 2:Charming, general historical feel, general feeling of welcomeness - two long-stemed glasses and bottle of Martinelli's, coffee and treats, and staff couldn't be nicer.
Review 3:No complaints .
Review 4:Perfect location, quiet street, walking distance to town, big kitchen, lovely comfortable living area and big dining table . & Pet friendly. We will definitely return in the future.
Review 5:The staff were so very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect! Super kitschy old western and very homey. Great location, 2 blocks for Whiskey Row. Will definitely be back
Review 6:This is a beautiful little property, so nicely decorated. My room was tiny but perfectly comfortable for a single person and conveniently located close to downtown. The staff was very nice and helpful and the room was very quiet.
Review 7:Would definitely stay again, but would need upgraded mattresses to stay much longer-- sadly, our maturing bodies need firmer support these days!
Review 8:Very comfy room with lots of character. So many extra amenities (frig, microwave, free wi-fi, sitting room), location. We loved arriving to a cheerful & helpful owner, a nice front porch for sitting, even popcorn & hot chocolate in the room. We found wine, cheese & crackers & other goodies walking right across the the street & settled in for a rainy evening!
Review 9:Rooms were great but a little on the small size for two people. But you can't really complain for the price and location.
Review 10:Great location. Friendly staff!
Review 11:Seemed a little expensive though it was nice. I believe most hotels were on the expensive side this particular fall weekend.
Review 12:Quaint hotel with a homey feel. Decoration reminiscent of historic Prescott. Comfortable bed, fridge, microwave. Walking distance from downtown.
Review 13:The bed has a very cheap mattress. It sags so much we rolled together in the middle. Any movement by one wakes the other because it is so bouncy. It was like sleeping in a hammock the sag was so bad. The bathroom is a closet. The shower must be 30" x 30", sitting on the toilet places your knees inches from the closed door. Using the sink is very difficult because it is blocked by the toilet. A large person would definitely not like this bathroom or the bed. We are not large people but still found the accommodations unsatisfactory. The room is filled with kitschy objects that must take housekeeping a lot of extra time to organize and clean around. Their time would be better spent cleaning the room. Wine glasses were provided but I chose not to use them because I could see the lip print of the last user. The room has lots of little "decor" pillows which must be put somewhere in order to sleep. They just clutter things up. Traffic noise was not a large problem, however the busy street makes backing out in the morning dangerous. Sheldon Street curves at this location making visibility of oncoming traffic difficult. The TV had a very limited number of channels.
Review 14:I liked the proximity to downtown. I was impressed with the unique style and architecture. Upon entering my room, I liked the separate vestibule with its sitting area. However, upon sitting down to read the paper I immediately felt awkward because there was no place for my wife to also sit and read.
Review 15:The only thing we didn't like was the parking. It is nice to park outside oplf your room but the main road is a pain to have to back out of.
Review 16:The friendly and homey atmosphere is different then the average hotel. Very clean, nice place to stay, and very good location. Me and my husband really liked it and would stay again.
Review 17:VERY NOISEY STREET. NO WINDOWS TO LOOK OUTSIDE. ALL CLOSED UP WITH COVERINGS.
Review 18:COZY BUT SMALL ROOM.NICE PEOPLE WHO RUN IT. NICE WINE GLASSES AND ALL THE LITTLE GOODIES THAT GO WITH A NICE BOTTLE OF WINE.
Review 19:I didn't have a bad experience but had trouble with all the steps and stairs. I had not known there would be any. I also wish there was more natural light in the room.
Review 20:The location was great and I really liked how cute and clean the room was
Review 21:Location was an easy walk to all the bars and restaurants. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. There was a refrigerator, microwave and small table to sit at. There were free waters, coffee, fruit, cookies and peanuts. One day the manager left a bottle of sparkling juice on our doorstep :). There were games available to play, books and magazines to read some with the history of Prescott. Every morning we received a smile from the manager, he was always making sure we had coffee and pastries. I loved it and would defiantly stay again.
Review 22:The bathroom was way too small!
Review 23:Good location within walking distance of restaurants and activities. Room was very clean and charming. Loved the homey feeling! Perfect for a romantic get away!
Review 24:Room was small. Toilet and shower area was extremely small.
Review 25:Nice staff, cute décor and great location. Room was very clean too. Lobby coffee and pastries were delicious.
Review 26:We weren't crazy on the smallness of the room but we understand the authenticity of the facility. If we were any larger we may have not fit in the shower. Not sure if all the rooms were like the one we had.
Review 27:If you're looking for a modern, somewhat large room, this may not be the place for you. One might consider it very cozy. However it is very well kept and clean. Location was excellent, within easy walking distance to Whiskey Row and places to eat. Very nice little touches to the atmosphere of the place.
Review 28:All was perfect
Review 29:Great location. Quirky little place. Rooms very well equipped and clean. Very comfortable beds. On busy road but did not experience any noise so location was perfect for walking out to the bars and restaurants. Complimentary breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, pastries, really good coffee. Great outside seating. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this lodge . Prescott is a really fab City. Loved Whisky Row pubs and bars.
Review 30:The night staff was not nearly as good as the main manager who did a great job.
Review 31:I previously wrote a horrible review of this property. I had my mind changed by the responsiveness of the manager. She carefully addressed all my concerns. She was awesome
Review 32:We were told someone would be there 24/7. The person that was at desk was not knowledgeable or helpful. Even with capturing the bugs in a cup he would not refund
Review 33:We had a problem with cleanliness and bed bugs. Actually found another room at 10 pm first night of a two night stay. We were only refunded one night. Extremely unhappy
Review 34:The window air conditioner didn't keep the room super cool. It was a little warm but not unbearable. Also, when we first walked in we saw a line if ants near the kitchen area. The room seemed very clean so it was surprising to see.
Review 35:Loved the location (close to Whiskey Row) and loved that we could park our motorcycle right outside our room.
Review 36:No complaints.
Review 37:Me and my boyfriend love this place! We always stay here when visit Prescott. The Shelton Lodge is walking distant from Whiskey Row yet far enough away from all the noise.
Review 38:Parking is small and street exit is very tight.
Review 39:The staff was very friendly and dedicated to making your stay comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are small. The lodge is quaint, rustic, nostalgic to old west. Patios outside comfortable to sit read, or play games while watching cars etc.
Review 40:Great old west themed décor. Outdoor fireplace was nice. Only drawback was a slight problem with the door lock sticking, otherwise absolutely wonderful stay!
Review 41:The only negative for me was the cost for the first night seemed a little high for the size of the room and no breakfast provided, but the good far outweighs the negative.
Review 42:Colleen was very friendly and helpful with some special needs. Location was close to downtown. Stores and places to eat just across the street. Room was small but had everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Review 43:The bathroom is so small you have to step outside to change your mind!!! Tiny, tiny, "knees under chin" toilet. Shower is miniscule - if you're over average height, go elsewhere. Too much traffic noise from adjoining Sheldon St. and difficult parking egress.
Review 44:Friendly night staff, western decor and artifacts in lobby and guestroom, proximity to downtown Prescott. Plethora of informational materials, cards and maps about Prescott attractions.
Review 45:Bug bites(?) multiplied into various areas of body and may be viral?? Bed sloped. Road noise was not bad, however, room and bathroom were small. I am not large. If someone weighs more than 200 # or is round and small, they would have a difficult time. Too many pillows!!!
Review 46:Location was good to walk various places.
Review 47:I liked the fact the place had just a few rooms. We sat on the front patio and enjoyed the weather and also meet some people staying there that we actually went to Whiskey Row with. The rooms are very homie feeling.
Review 48:The bed was a bit small and sagged into the middle. Extra cuddling for my husband though!
Review 49:The staff was super friendly, and we got to pet their cats - Fric and Frac.
Review 50:The bed was very hard and there were only two pillows. The bathroom was very small, but it got the job done.
Review 51:I liked how cute the outside/inside was. It was very home-like and antique decor. The staff was very friendly! I liked that I could walk everywhere from this location.
Review 52:The rooms were small and backing out onto the on going traffic was a little tricky. Also too many decorate pillows, no place to put them.
Review 53:It was close to square. It was surprisingly quiet, the rooms were well insulated against neighbor noise.
Review 54:There was a severe lack of closet/storage space. Not even a place to put your suit case away. The bathroom was tiny including the vanity and shower with the toilet right between them. I thought the price was high after seeing the accommodations. The property is also very close to the street.
Review 55:The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room had a very rustic charming feel with old west decor. It was very clean.
Review 56:Bathroom very small.
Review 57:The place was really cute, with outdoor seating and fire pits. It is right in downtown Prescott which was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
Review 58:This was not a bad experience just know what you are getting into so you don't have one yourself.
Review 59:We stayed her for only one night and although the rooms were small you feel like you get the true Prescott experience. Take the time to learn about the history of the lodge and you can better appreciate exactly where you are. My wife and I stayed here and would gladly do so again.
Review 60:Very small shower and bathroom area and no closet. No separate commode closet or dressing area. Convenience of location was good, but room entrance is right off a main street. Somewhat tight quarters.
Review 61:Easy to walk to Whiskey Row area. Very clean and decor was old west meets country cottage. Friendly staff. Full kitchen with sink, fridge and microwave was awesome to have in the room. Bathroom was newly tiled.
Review 62:There was nothing we didn't like. It was what it was.
Review 63:We loved the location and also the rustic nature of Sheldon Street Lodge. Plenty of toiletries and nice little parlour to sit in.
Review 64:Bathroom is small but manageable.
Review 65:Liked that the beds were in different rooms instead of one big room. Location is great and close to a lot of stores and restaurants.
Review 66:the bathrooms are a bit tight. if you are larger than an average person, it may be a rough squeeze.
Review 67:The front Desk worker, Tom, was the shining star at this hotel. he had great suggestions for things to do around town, and made sure the fire pit outside of our room was lit. Amazing customer service. Also, the location was great, so close to the square.
Review 68:If you want to stay in central Prescott for a great value in a friendly, clean, quaint motel, this is the place. Our room was small but well-suited and clean. Located on a busy street but our room was very quiet. It's a great deal for the price.
Review 69:Room was so dark, lights were needed in the day. Curtains should be replaced by blinds. Walls should be painted a light colour. Small and very cluttered room, with nowhere to put your own things On a busy road and junction. No breakfast
Review 70:Owners were delightful. Location was excellent. Memorable
Review 71:The only thing was the parking lot was so small and you had to basically pull out into a very busy road to exit the parking lot.
Review 72:The bed was so comfy, the use of space in the cozy rooms were smart and comfortable. The location to downtown was awesome. The staff were very nice. It would have been nice if the fire pit was working.
Review 73:No coffee pot in room.
Review 74:It was very comfortable, and cute
Review 75:Good location and really cute place

Review 92:The bathroom was really small.
Review 93:Very narrow room Located on a main avenue , somewhat noisy
Review 94:Very typical old time place
Review 95:Location was awesome. Super clean. Beautiful décor and design. A+++ stay and will definitely be back. Awesome value also.
Review 96:The staff made us feel as if we were at home. We had every amenity possible to make our three day stay the highlight of our European tour.
Review 97:It was within walking distance of Whiskey Row and restaurants and yet wasn't right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Western décor.
Review 98:Unusual and unique. Felt like being part of the old west.
Review 99:Hey very charming place
Review 100:Really cute rooms, easy walking distance to whiskey row, friendly staff
Review 101:Bathroom was very small. Door to bathroom would not latch shut. Some strange neighbors who seemed to live there.
Review 102:Quint and cute. Clean

Review 104:Small
Review 105:We could book 1 room with two sleeping areas instead of having to book two rooms. Saved money

Review 115:Need could have been more comfortable. Too saggy
Review 116:Very comfortable
Review 117:Property was cute and homey feeling! Super clean! And the male manager was amazing and super sweet!
Review 118:The room was very clean nicely set up. It is a short walk to the town square with numerous good restaurants.
Review 119:We were within two blocks of the square and there were many antique shops to look through. We parked our car and did all our visiting by walking.
Review 120:bed too soft, parking on a main thoroughfare inconvenient
Review 121:week end price was good Proximity to downtown Prescott good.
