Reviews for Apple Creek Cottages
Review 1:These cabins have nothing about them that would pass any building code inspections. They been remodeled so many times without even moving light switches. Kitchen had no light switch anywhere. Do they even have a Prescott Occupency permit?
Review 2:Location was nice.
Review 3:They needed new quilts...that's all
Review 4:This place has been around since I was a kid. Sure it's old big whoop, what in Prescott isn't. We slept well, were comfortable, had a nice kitchen, and was affordable. I don't expect to eat off the floor anywhere anyway.
Review 5:upgrades needed but they are working on it. clean and cozy. parking is tight but they do have additional available across the street.
Review 6:Warm & Friendly Staff, Quaint cottage, full kitchen. Not a fancy hotel but definitely a wonderful cozy spot close to downtown Prescott, Everybody's hometown.
Review 7:I had booked for two nights because I am moving to Prescott and was told I could not get into my new residence for 2 days. Turned out, I only needed the cottage for one night, but they would not refund my second night because I booked on booking.com What a rip off They could have easily re-rented the room as they were fully booked.
Review 8:The cottages are charming but you get what you pay for. Upgrade to a more expensive cottage if you want more room.
Review 9:Shower stall old, cracked. No place to put toiletries in shower except on floor. No drapes or curtains on windows, blinds did not cover all of the window and we had to put a blanket up for privacy.
Review 10:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Quaint cottages by a creek, quirky decorations. Bed was very comfortable.
Review 11:This place was charming and we will be back, had a kitchen unit, Like-new clean gas BBQ infront of our cabin, fire pit . We had the "Honeymoon cottage" and it was just perfect.
Review 12:The shower dropped all night. There were some screaming kids near by and you could hear the traffic as it is just off of a busy main riad
Review 13:It was comfortable. It was very roomy .... We had in fact more room than we needed for a one night stay!
Review 14:Mouse. It squeaked at night. In the morning it and ran across the floor from the sofa to the refrigerator. Cockroach crawling by the door. Cobwebs. Yellow walls and ceiling in kitchen. Bathroom doors don't close properly. Minimal space in shower, and around toilet- have to squeeze in around the door. Stains on headrest and of recliner, and the rug had stains too. One bench and no chairs for the dining table does not fit 3 people. Property didn't bother to sweep up leaves from the walkways, patio chairs or tables outside until the next morning as we checked out. Did I mention we found dried crusty dead thing on the pillowcase? Booking.com calculated my score as a 5, but I would give this place a 3.
Review 15:It does have potential, if the property was kept up nicely. Kitchenette with patio near a creek.
Review 16:at first had trouble finding place.
Review 17:very good staff, friendly helpful needs remodeling but that will come with time. when in area i will stay there again. thank you for bring there
Review 18:Not a complaint; some of the interior could use some fixing up like the holes in the wall/ceiling but by no means anything bad.
Review 19:Loved the location and the fact that it was not a "hotel" type environment. Lovely pit fireplaces outside and very welcoming to pets. Beds were extremely comfortable.
Review 20:We were in room 1,there was a table with two chairs out the front door patio and the people who were staying in #2 were sitting and talking and it was as if they were in our room. Heard every conversation they had. There are several seating areas throughout the property why put seating right next to the doors when you have to share the patio space with other guess.
Review 21:The room was warm and cozy while it was cold and raining outside.
Review 22:Our cottage was adorable, but in need of a deep clean. Because the cottages allow pets the couch unfortunately smelled of urine in one particular area.
Review 23:The outdoor grass area was great, swinging chairs, fire pits, tables...very peaceful and pretty. Also loved the private patio and for a small kitchen, it had every kind of utensil needed. Staff is super friendly and great location in regards to downtown or hiking.
Review 24:Cold water leaked continuously from shower tap. We were told that it required replacement and that parts had been ordered, but nothing they could do.
Review 25:Bed was very comfortable. Lovely grounds, very convenient, reasonable and pet friendly.
Review 26:Parking was a bit difficult for motorcycles, but that wasn't a big deal. The parking lot is uneven dirt & gravel.
Review 27:Cabins are close to town, and very comfortable.
Review 28:There wasn't anything we didn't really not like. The kitchen equipment could be updated a little. Pans were quite worn.
Review 29:We loved that we were away from everyone else. Had our own deck to look at tge wildlife and drink our coffee. A fire pit in the back to roast marshmallow with the kids. We will definitely be going back.
Review 30:the shower was like getting hosed off in planet of the apes. The whole use the colored towel-don't ruin the face cloths etc. was off-putting
Review 31:Awesome property. Just beautiful.
Review 32:The pull out sofa bed was just springs no padding. We had cabin 10 run down, dirty, aircon so loud and old we couldn't use it. Very disappointing would not recommend anyone to stay there.
Review 33:Staff were very helpful and friendly just a pity they don't pay attention to their upkeep and cleanliness.
Review 34:The King Studio was older but very homey and cutely decorated. The flooring looked completely updated, with nice tile in the bathroom and kitchen, and wood flooring with an area rug in the living area. It had an antique feel with older furniture, but was very appealing. The bed was extremely comfortable with lots of pillows. The wicker rocking chairs on the porch was a nice addition. The courtyard in the center of the cottages was a garden like setting, very pretty and peaceful. It felt like a very safe place. I saw families with children and some people with dogs. Normally I prefer to stay in nicer hotels, but this was close by the camp I had to pick our daughter up from, and it turned out to be a fun overnight stay for us both. I enjoyed the atmosphere more here than at a nice hotel...I would stay here again.
Review 35:While the cabin is quite old it has been kept up well and decorated cute. While the cabins are connected and close together it is set up so you have alot of privacy. The location was perfect, just a $4 cab ride to whiskey row. Wish we could have stayed longer so we had more time to just relax in the cabin!
Review 36:There were no hand towels in the cottage so had to use washrags or the bathtowels. Could of had more lights out on the property at night time.
Review 37:Liked could sit outside in the different areas to rest and read.
Review 38:Wish it had a fireplace and complimentary hand lotion. Didn't bring mine cause most places I stayed in provided hand lotion
Review 39:Very quaint and comfortable. Cute cottage. Loved the patios and yard area in back
Review 40:Would've been nice to have wifi instructions and just salt, pepper, oil, coffee in the kitchen. It mentions breakfast above, but we didn't know about that??
Review 41:Location was great and property was adorable. The proprietors called ahead of time to make sure we were set up well for arrival. Very comfy beds!
Review 42:Dirty! I was actually grossed out staying there. They need to not only renovate but do some serious maintenance around the facility. Honestly, I am surprised the health department has not shut them down. I will never stay here again or ever recommend it
Review 43:Location is nice. Prescott is beautiful.
Review 44:Where do I start? 1.The clock was attached the outlet controlled by thelight switch at the front door and was never able to keep correct time.2.The floor was sloped. 3.There was a painted over window in thebathroom. 4.There was an extra door in the kitchen that led to who knowswhere. 5.There was an extension cord that ran along the floor in thekitchen, then into the closet, then out of the closet through the wallon the other side and the tv was connected to it. 6.The caulking aroundthe tub and toilet was put on by a 5 year old. Looked awful. 7.Therewere little signs, telling us that we would be charged extra if we didthis or that. 8.There was a toilet paper cabinet for extra rolls ofpaper, sitting on the floor next to the shower, limiting one'sability to get into the shower. And there was no extra paper in thecabinet. 9.The windows need a very good cleaning. There were cobwebs anddirt on all of them. One window was cracked. 10. There is an old heaterin the bathroom that needs to be removed. 11. If you want a quickshower, just turn on the water in the sink in the bathroom. It splashesall over you. 12. This place was definitely over priced.
Review 45:I was able to find the place. The sign was legible. Although, I usuallysee a sign that says "NO Vacancy". Their sign says"Vacancy NO".
Review 46:Out of date, shower dripped, door was hard to close. Door knob was about to fall off, lamp was broken, picture on 1990's TV was fizzy. looks like it was built by the owner and not a professional. But other than that it was ok
Review 47:It was a nice little out of the way place
Review 48:The shower was the worst part of the trip. We could not get hot water and then when we did it would constantly go from hot to cold making it a huge undertaking to shower. The grounds could have been cleaned up nicer as well as the outdoor furniture.
Review 49:Use of grills in common area and the comfort of the beds.
Review 50:Everything. 1970s tv with poor clarity, poor customer service, have to pay for wifi, dated property, dirty room, expensive for the quality and standards.
Review 51:Unfortunately nothing
Review 52:No heater it was pretty cold..fireplace in kitchen was great but living room one smelled and gave us a headache so we turned it off..wish we had more time!
Review 53:We loved the stay and will definitely come back!
Review 54:We thought this place is outdated. We could see the potential but it needs a lot of work. Antiques are nice, old is not. For this stay the price was too high. I will not stay here again.
Review 55:It was nice that we could bring our dog for a small fee.
Review 56:The fireplace was very difficult to operate and did not have directions to help and seeing as it was the only source if heat in the cottage it made trying to stay warm a lil frustrating.
Review 57:I love the way the cottages are set up and decorated. They are very quaint and comfortable. Makes you feel at home away from home. The fact that the kitchens are preloaded with dishes and cooking utensils made meals very easy.
Review 58:Only complaint is the animal in the next room was extremely loud and barked every time we went in or out of our room. The stay itself was nice.
Review 59:Very secluded area. The room had everything I needed.
Review 60:Parking was poor for anything more than a medium size car. I thought we were going to be in a cottage that stood by itself,(rooms were attached). A lot of road noise.
Review 61:Able to have pet. Gal went out of her way to call us as we were late checking in. Place is old but very cute and clean.
Review 62:The finish in the cabin looked like a drunk carpenter did the work!Every door creaked, there was water damage to the ceiling in the small bed room, fire place didn't work, the tv's were snowy.
Review 63:Having to leave.
Review 64:The staff was wonderful. They were very attentive to all our needs. The grounds were beautiful. So peaceful. If we would've sat at our cottage our whole vacation, it still would've been worth the travel and price!
Review 65:Dead cockroach found in hideaway bed with thin and worn mattress. Stains on sheets. Ants in sink. Stayed for 3 days and never given fresh towels or toilet paper. Room never cleaned during stay. Manager refused to give us a refund if we checked out early. Horrible parking. Difficulty getting into or out of parking lot due to construction. Road is washed away and it scrapes bottom of your car. Will never stay there again.
Review 66:The water pressure in the shower. Nice outdoor seating.
Review 67:Unfortunately the parking is a nightmare and the beds are incredibly uncomfortable. I realize that the cottages are older many of the general maintenance items appeared to have been worked on by someone who had little or no skill in the maintenance department.
Review 68:Sarah took care of us and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond when it came to any of our requests. The cottages were rustic and there was plenty of room. The scenery outside was amazing.
Review 69:Lack of wi-fi is the only negative but selfish thing lacking the stay.
Review 70:Cottages were super cute and fit with the history of Prescott. In a nice and quiet but good location to shops, food, stores, and entertainment. Will definitely be back for future stays.
Review 71:Several things were in disrepair. Our cottage got water damage on the carpet and we had to relocate to another cabin - an upgrade. The upgrade was worth the price we paid for a lesser cabin. The outdoor amenities, seats, etc., were in poor condition. Locks on the doors needed replacement. The whole group of cabins could stand some fixing up.
Review 72:The location is okay and the staff was helpful.
Review 73:TV didnt work. Very little privacy. Shower was awefull. The matress is over 20 years old! parking was difficult. Carpet was stained. Room smelled musty. And the owner wouldnt refund my money for night two and three after I checked out. One night was All we could handle there. It was unpleasant.
Review 74:Very outdated everything. At some point various stuff had been remodeled but I have a feeling most of these rooms simply need to be gutted and done completely over. If I must pick the biggest negative that could have made the stay more pleasant....they need to completely professionally clean all the furniture and remove all the curtains and blinds and replace or seriously clean them. Years and years of people and pets on the furniture is very apparent.
Review 75:Location is great and within perfect 3-4 minute walking distance to Safeway which also has a Starbucks and downtown Prescott is barely a mile and a perfect early morning walk. There's a kitchen and even though we didn't cook meals we did have breakfast and snacks. Had we stayed a week I am sure we would have taken advantage of BBQ'ing there. The girl running the office was very nice and really wants you to have a good/pleasant stay/experience. I would consider staying there again if furniture and curtains in my "what didn't like" where professionally cleaned or replaced.
Review 76:The interior decorations just clash with the property jungle motif? The smell when we arrived was so over strong I asked the cleaning person if they had a air fresh in the room. She said no I just cleaned and used pine sol the smell was so strong! The matteres had to be over 20 years old the shower wall is broke and clearly being held together by contact paper. The fridge microwave and air conditioner are all plugged into an extension cord very scary the ants were all over the kitchen area we asked if they had bug spray they said they would spray never did coffe pot no coffe or filters outside fire place in wood they could do some small fix up for what the spent on there jungle theme and made it better
Review 77:The location in Prescott. The layout of the cottage it is a nice concept
Review 78:The wall lamps fell off the wall. Bad shower head. Poor construction of the rooms. No fan or lock in the bathroom window. Felt the springs from the matress. Outside was junky and dirty. the linens smelled bad. Had to ask for toliet paper. Inside was not spotless. Air condition loud. Fire trap. Extension cords everywhere exposed. Poor explanation of policies. You could tell where there were water leaks.
Review 79:lack of luggage racks. Ant problem - fixed while we were there Show door latch didn't hold door shut allowing water to splash outside of the shower. - fixed while we were there
Review 80:Friendliness of young owners and their desire to do anything needed for our comfort and enjoyment
Review 81:Cottages are not professionally maintained, outlets were faulty, wallpaper was coming off the walls, windows were rotten and not secure. We were not aware there was no service provided like trash removal and towel replacement, it was not advertised at totally self-service.
Review 82:Location was convenient for Prescott center. Pretty location and communal garden. Cottages were well cleaned.
Review 83:That we had to leave.
Review 84:It was private quiet and secluded. We were on an anniversary trip. Not your run of the mill, cookie cutter hotel/motel. Comforts of home on vacation. Very warm and cozy. Staff unobtrusive, not in your face like chain hotels where they are everywhere you look. but at the same time there if needed. Close to town but nestled in the woods.
Review 85:not at all what was pictured as far as the cabin we got so we felt a little decieved. Little dog barked all the time.I think it was the owners.
Review 86:it was cute, a good location and very clean. The person who checked me in was very nice and went over everything with me about the cabin we got because they are old and have some quirks.
Review 87:Could've been a little cleaner regarding porch, patio furniture, windows.
Review 88:Very quaint and homey. Friendly, hardworking staff. Nestled in the woods-beautiful!
Review 89:Tv reception awful. One half roll of toilet paper...not any in reserve.Blinds would not go all the way down. Felt like someone peering in. Antsin kitchen and I did not eat there. Light outside room on all night and"in your face." Opening for bugs under screen door. Needs agood makeover! Room certainly not a cottage. Old and grounds and outdoorfurniture unappealing. All this plus well over $100. Per nite. Ugh!
Review 90:Very little.
Review 91:Some what outdated, furniture is old. Walls very thin.
Review 92:Very quaint little place. Comfortable beds. Quite
Review 93:Dog hair on sheets and bedding. Chair needs to be replaced.
Review 94:Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Review 95:Clean, comfortable and cute cottage! Lots of room for the little one to run around. Great family vacation.
Review 96:Lots of fun and a much needed rest
Review 97:Air conditioner didn't cool right. Wasn't fixed. Hot water heater was turned off. Toilet seat was loose.
Review 98:Quiet, beautiful location, spacious room.
Review 99:Everything was cute, comfortable, and very home style feeling! We loved it!
Review 100:Rustic cabins in need of upgrades
Review 101:Being charged for wash cloths
Review 102:Room and location was cozy and romantic
Review 103:No blow dryers. Need to change blindes, borders in shower.
Review 104:U was there for funeral travel. Peaceful, tranquil and quiet. What I really needed.
Review 105:Property in serious need of repair and update
Review 106:Loved the green sitting areas in the back by the creek
Review 107:room wasn't ready on time, no hand / dish towels
Review 108:cozy, comfy beds,
Review 109:If want TV with good reception, not the place. Wifi slow at times
Review 110:Beds are great. Fun area with creek in back.
Review 111:Needed more lighting in the living room by the couch.
Review 112:The bed was wonderful!
Review 113:noise from other cabins; parking spaces
Review 114:2 bathrooms; 2 tvs
Review 115:Decor needed refining.
Review 116:Clean, cozy & close to nature - would stay again - great for families.
Review 117:Beautiful shady location next to a crystal clear creek. Clean comfortable cabin. The staff is awesome, cannot say enough good things.
Review 118:internet was was spotty at best.
Review 119:Loved the feel of the place - staff was great. Loved the option to BBQ outside and have a fire outside.
Review 120:What's not to like?
Review 121:The location to downtown is very convenient. The cottages are in a quiet location. Great view of the creek.
Review 122:Unaware that it had a full kitchen area with coffee maker but no comp. Coffee.
Review 123:Seeing the dog friendly area. It was my favorite part.
Review 124:The parking is tight and limited.
Review 125:The unit was large and well equipped and the location was close to town.
Review 126:needs work
Review 127:close to everthing, private
Review 128:Air conditioning and electrical needs work as well as the entertainment equipment needs ulgrading
Review 129:Very acomodating late arrival but the place needs some tlc which i belive the new owners are putting their heart and sole in the right place
Review 130:Place was dusty from the road repair. So bad I couldn't sleep had to get up 4 x to wash out nose & throat.Furniture belongs in a dump, floor was dirty. No tissues and only 1 towel in kitchen, no ice cube trays overall WE will not return.
Review 131:Stayed here 2 yrs. ago and it was fairly nice the place could use an upgrade.
Review 132:Ants in bedroom and bed One of the beds in master BR mattress is very uncomfortable since one can feel the springs when laying on the mattress. The other bed is very uncomfortable as well. Toilets have no plungers, so if the toilet gets clogged as mine did (easily), then I had to be creating on how to unclog it.... There is a Gas heater in the living room that we were told to use since it works so well. We were also told to ensure that there was a window cracked open when using the heater. This did not make sense to me since there is no where to exhaust the pilot and/or flame when the heater is running. The entire apartment smelled when running the heater and I got a headache immediately after running it for about 5 minutes. This is due to carbon monoxide. We did not use the heater after that and just used the electric heaters (they are very old and do not work well) The room is definitely worth the $200 that we paid per night. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Review 133:Location Hot water is awesome!
Review 134:Bed mattress was hard and in need of replacement. Tv picture was real bad on every channel. The chair in the room was very uncomfortable and worn. Will not return.
Review 135:The beautiful scenery.
