Reviews for Grand Highland Hotel
Review 1:The view from the window was of the roof. Also there was no fridge.
Review 2:We stayed in the Prospector room and it was adorable. Great location right in downtown. There are a lot of stairs so be aware of that.
Review 3:This is just personal preference, but the bed was too soft for me...I awoke stiff and crampy. Partially it was the pillows, which I could readily compare to marshmallows. So thick my neck was cranked at a painful angle, thus I slept without a pillow. Would appreciate an assortment of thicknesses.
Review 4:Totally delighted by the attention to detail. Amenities were carefully selected to be easy on the planet, which is of enormous importance to me. The heating/cooling unit is a super high-efficiency type, they had recycling bins in the bathroom. An array of delicious cookies and drinks awaited upon arrival, and breakfast was healthy and fresh. Furniture very tasteful, premises delightfully decorated for the holidays.
Review 5:No elevator, was ok for us but wouldn't be for elderly parents. Noise from bars until 2am
Review 6:Location, extremely pleasant staff, great continental breakfast, lovely room.
Review 7:Long stairs at the entry Main hall was very narrow
Review 8:Great location on whiskey row. Rooms were styled circa 1920s with antique tub and wood floor in bathroom. Room was extremely clean.
Review 9:Didn't have a refrigerator or microwave.Thursday morning I called five times to get breakfast early but knowone answered and even went to front desk knowone in sight so I just left.
Review 10:We liked the coziness. It was very nice.the bed was comfortable and loved the bath tub.
Review 11:No public space to eat our breakfast or just relax outside of the room. There is a special events courtyard I would encourage them to open it to guests. When you stay multiple nights you spend equivalent dollars to a special event. My husband needed a surface to work on his laptop. Parking might be included on the website with a map.
Review 12:Wonderful staff who carried my heavy suitcase up the steep stairs and put a folding chair in our room immediately on asking. Fresh cookies and cold water at check in. They keep breakfast food replenished. Rooms are unique and historical...nice!
Review 13:Breakfast was great. Perfect location. It was so clean, and ample amount of towels. The reception was so nice and friendly, from day to night shift and back. Thanks for a wonderful time.
Review 14:The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. A bit more space to enjoy it would have been very nice. Perhaps finding a way to set up small tables in place of the comfy couch and chair would allow for a sit down breakfast since most rooms did not have a place to eat breakfast.
Review 15:Decor was reminiscent of the city's historic past without being kitschy. Very tasteful. Loved that each room had a theme and was individually designed.
Review 16:small. its an older Bldg. Soundproofing is poor. They do provide ear plugs...
Review 17:Well appointed. Warm staff. Clean. Simple continental breakfast expertly prepared and presented. I'll be bringing wife along next time...
Review 18:Location was right on Whiskey Row situated between the bars and shops. Hotel was very comfortable, room was nicely decorated. Very quiet, comfortable bed. Overall a very nice place to stay!
Review 19:Decorated extremely well, felt warm and comfortable and it was extremely clean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.
Review 20:Nothing. Everything was a huge PLUS
Review 21:The location was a 10, we wanted to be able to not have to drive. We were able to walk around the court yard and the town. It was perfect
Review 22:Too many stairs to climb and no elevator. No desk and chair in room, and what was offered — folding table and chairs — was inadequate.
Review 23:The staff and attitude were outstanding. The place was clean and orderly. The foods they offered for breakfast, while limited, were high quality. They are ecologically aware.
Review 24:Nothing to dislike.
Review 25:Extremely helpful staff - many thoughtful touches - single serve coffee maker available in lobby 24/7 - free parking right out the backdoor- quiet air conditioner - clean room - very comfy bed.
Review 26:Nothing was wrong with hotel, but the homeless and panhandling was a little unnerving walking back after dinner around 10 o clock!
Review 27:Both of us are in our sixties and the steps are a little steep and numerous . After we made it to the top it was well worth the trip
Review 28:We could hear everything in the room next door, conversations and sneezes! Needs some soundproofing! But in keeping with the old hotel theme, maybe that's how it really was in the old days...
Review 29:Location of Historical hotel, renovated theme. Loved the staff and "family feel."
Review 30:only thing we didn't like was rather obnoxious bunch of street people camped out all over the sidewalk in front of the entrance. But that's not the hotels fault.
Review 31:Helpful, friendly staff. Beautiful room. Very clean, extremely comfortable. Loved it. Would stay again, any time.
Review 32:We were certainly made to feel welcome - the staff was very friendly and helpful, the cookies were delicious and the rooms are all delightfully decorated. The location on Whiskey Row is ideal - we have already raved about it to friends!
Review 33:The room was a little load from the street but they warned us ahead of time so it wasn't a surprise.
Review 34:I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was great, the room was cute and very clean, and the location was perfect. The staff reall puts a lot of attention into detail. The continental breakfast was so adorably set up and the man working the front desk even made me coffee.
Review 35:great place to stay! Very historic, but still equipped with modern world amenities. Nice staff, very helpful. It is located right in Whiskey row, the former saloon places. I liked it a lot, and would stay there again.
Review 36:We loved everything about this b&b. the rooms were so cute and personal and the location is excellent. Right by the bars, shops, and courthouse. Buckys is close too. It was an amazing stay.. I recommend it to everyone!!
Review 37:staff was awesome!! My girlfriend and I had a great time. The Grand Highland hotel was a great experience and we will be telling our friends and family about it.
Review 38:Stairs are steep and would be tricky if mobility an issue.
Review 39:This family owned business has literally risen from the ashes to become an unexpectedly quiet haven from the action of Prescott's Whiskey Row. If you enjoy comfort, personal attention and good old fashioned hospitality you will fit right in. The tastefully renovated historic building, with a colourful past, adds to the experience.
Review 40:Everything was perfect!
Review 41:I loved this hotel!! This place fits my personality to a T! Because our assigned room was having the carpets cleaned, they upgraded us to a suite! The bed was so comfortable, the linens so soft, smelled so lovely, the breakfast was exceptional with fruit and fancy pastries, everything was perfect and the price so cheap. This hotel was ten times nicer than the $200 plus hotels that we stayed in on the beach in California. This was my favorite hotel in the two weeks we were on vacation!! The night that we stayed, there was a concert in the park across the street! That was a plus! We loved the shops in the surrounding streets! Many antique shops that are our love! We wish that we could go back there again, but most likely will not be going that direction again.
Review 42:Hospitality was awesome! Definitely coming back
Review 43:Friendly staff, comfortable room!
Review 44:Steps are tough. But we survived!
Review 45:Room was small but very clean
Review 46:Nothing. Really enjoyed my stay.
Review 47:The staff is excellent.
Review 48:The ambiance and location
Review 49:Very impressed with personnel's helpfulness in hosting and seeing that we had an excellent stay.
Review 50:Natasha is great. The coffee is great and the breakfast is awesome as well. The bathroom is so cool and clean. Beautiful place!!!
Review 51:The staff and the feeling the comforts of home.
Review 52:Awesome, this place rocks. The outdoor patio was amazing. The rooms are really cool, love the themes.
Review 53:Room was a little smaller than I expected
Review 54:Room was incredibly clean, quiet, extremely helpful staff and close to everything.
Review 55:Not handicap accessible
Review 56:The only down side is nothing is handicap accessible. My husband is disabled and the stairs were extremely difficult.
Review 57:That we couldn't stay longer
Review 58:Everything
Review 59:Tiny cramped rooms; noisy area.
Review 60:Stairs
Review 61:Very Comfortable
Review 62:Stairs hard on old knees, but worth it.
Review 63:Great staff & hotel experience.
Review 64:Needed elevator. We are in our seventies. Physical challenges.
Review 65:clean, neat, friendly staff.
Review 66:Great Staff and great excellent location we loved everything about it
Review 67:steps a killer
Review 68:location, staff, food
Review 69:Great staff. A time machine back to a bygone era.
Review 70:Our hotel room was comfortable, quaint and stylish. Staff was friendly. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Prescott!
Review 71:Back door locked at all times....enter front door first, then go park car.
Review 72:Green products...clean, friendly staff, location...breakfast....
Review 73:Location is perfect, right on Whiskey Row and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shopping. Very inviting hotel and staff
Review 74:The staff was very friendly and the rooms were all different..so fun and nice!
Review 75:The staff was amazing and could not be more helpful. The bed was so comfy! Great stay!
Review 76:No complaints :)
Review 77:We loved our room and loved being across from the square . The staff was very helpful in helping us plan things to do in Prescott.
Review 78:Unique piece of property with a welcoming staff and rooms with lots of character!
Review 79:Bed was to soft for me but I like a firm mattress
Review 80:Staff was very courteous and prompt. Very clean and orderly. Look forward to our next stay.
Review 81:No elevator
Review 82:Everything was great but the stairs (elevator) a must !
Review 83:The newly remodeled decor was a perfect blend of old and new. The bed was super comfy. I have already recommended this place to many of my friends.
Review 84:Hit my head several times in the back stairway.
Review 85:Nice and Quiet. Great staff.
Review 86:The stairs. Not for elderly or infirm folks. no elevator and the steep stairs (front and back) could be problematic.
Review 87:Location was great and the personal attention of the staff. Plus the attention to small details was greatly appreciated.
Review 88:My husband and I plan on visiting again! Hotel staff were helpful, friendly, and made me feel at home. We stayed in two different rooms because we decided to add a day to our trip. Both rooms were exceptional! We were in walking distance from everything and I didn't see my car until we left 3 days later. Everything was wonderful!
Review 89:Stairs to the hotel on the 2nd floor are a bit of a climb, but it gave us some excercise!
Review 90:This is an amazing boutique hotel right in the heart of Whiskey Row. Staff makes you feel like you are visiting family. The rooms and the attention to detail are top notch. Stay here you won't regret it!!
Review 91:Nothing
Review 92:The staff was attentive and very helpful. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms were big and roomy. This is the only place my wife and I will stay from now on, when we visit Prescott.
Review 93:The staff went out of their way to be accommodating. My husband and I would recommend this hotel to our favorite people. They intend to get an elevator but for now the front desk and rooms are a walk up a flight of stairs. It is very very authentic of the year it was built. The new owners have completely refurbished the interior. Very well done. Right down to the room keys.
Review 94:This place exceeded our expectations for the weekend. Above and beyond the call of duty and nothing in return except the smiles on our faces. Definately an A++ place to stay. Worth every penny.
Review 95:That we had to leave.
Review 96:We love this hotel! We cannot fault it. During our 3 week trip in the states, this is hands down the best place we stayed. We only wish we discovered it earlier. It's the small details that make all the difference. Perfect location, spotless, super friendly staff. We will be back!
Review 97:There was nothing not to like!
Review 98:The Grand Highland is indeed grand! We loved the location...right in the middle of historic downtown Prescott. Lots of galleries, ice cream stores, and bars (some of which are family friendly, and some not). A very short walk to the Sharlot Museum. Just a terrific hotel. The staff was great and the room was great. Lots of attention to detail. We loved the Grand Highland and would highly recommend it for anyone interested in seeing old town Prescott.
Review 99:From the moment I walked in until the moment that I left the experience was first class!!! Beautifully decorated with top quality ammenities! Staff was extremely accomodating, friendly and helpful. It made my vacation here a very enjoyable experience :)
Review 100:The only tiny problem was finding the hotel via the small door from the street!
Review 101:Everything - great location, helpful friendly staff, lovely rooms and delightful fresh breakfast.
Review 102:We loved absolutely EVERYTHING about this hotel! Just wonderful wonderful wonderful. Room was so comfy and thoughtfully appointed and clean and beautiful. Loved the clawfoot tub! Just a great place to stay when in downtown Prescott. Walk to everything you may want to do! Great job, Grand Highland Hotel. We will return soon!
Review 103:Rooms a little small but that's to be expected in a historical hotel like this.
Review 104:The rooms were a little small but more than made up with it with its charm. The staff was wonderful and the location was great. The hotel is spotless...cleanest hotel I've ever stayed it. Will definitely revisit.
Review 105:The staff was incredibly accommodating. They were genuine in their service and truly appreciate their guests. I highly recommend a stay at this small, quaint hotel. I can't wait to return!
Review 106:We were disappointed that we did not see anyone on duty during the continential breakfast nor at our departure at 8:15 am. We were not certain what to do with the room keys. We missed the personal touch/element on our departure.
Review 107:My wife and I enjoyed our attractive room with a very spacious bathroom. We had a quiet night's rest with no loud noises from outside nor from within the hotel.
Review 108:No place else to sit in the room but on the bed and my husband is not comfortable sitting on the bed to read or watch TV. Get a comfy chair!
Review 109:The ambiance was great and loved being right down in town close to bars, restaurants and shops.
Review 110:Not a problem for us, but no elevator so not for those who cannot climb stairs.
Review 111:Great location, very clean, nice breakfast. Would definitely return. Would opt for the suite.
Review 112:Did not like that the shower didn't work. You could take a bath or use the hand held shower head but when switched to shower it would just drip out of the shower head. I think they had some sort of limitation on the wifi, once the wife and I were settled for the night we tried to watch a little netflix but it would constantly buffer or stop.
Review 113:The staff was great. Location was great.
Review 114:Could use more counterspace in bath. But the situation is understandable considering what the owners are trying to create with the property.
Review 115:Wonderful ambiance, great feeling to the entire hotel, very comfy beds. Clawfoot bathtubs are a great touch.
Review 116:This will be the only place I stay when I visit Prescott. The hotel was clean the staff was friendly, they made you fill at home and very comfortable. Just wonderful.
