Reviews for Hassayampa Inn

Review 1:Unfortunately, when we showed up at the hotel, our guaranteed reservation had been cancelled. Hotel claimed booking.com cancelled it several days prior to our arrival. Booking.com denied that accusation. Never got to the bottom as to who or why our reservation had been cancelled, but fortunately, the hotel was able to accommodate us at the originally quoted price. Don't know what we would have done if the hotel had been full.

Review 2:Great Location, walking distance to many shops and restaurants, cozy public areas, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 3:Front desk manager rude and unaccommodating because I booked through Booking.com. Rest of staff was welcoming, courteous, friendly. Heat was loud enough to wake us up when it came on. Otherwise, amenities were sufficient. Would have been nice to have refrigerator in room and more shelf space near sink, more hangers in closet.

Review 4:Great location, very close to square, restaurants, shops of downtown Prescott

Review 5:The advertised "suite" was really just one room with the sink outside the main bathroom. A lttle awkward and it made the egress a bit tight

Review 6:Lovely vintage hotel with a great staff. The location to downtown was just what we were looking for with fee parking (even though it was across a busy street).

Review 7:The atmosphere that we experienced at this Hotel exceeded our expectations. The location in downtown Prescott was perfect and all of the staff appeared to enjoy their jobs which affected our experience positively. If you like history and nostalgia, this is the place to stay.

Review 8:Charming and warm - literally! It snowed the night we stayed and the fireplace in the main room downstairs was so cozy. The staff was wonderful - Karen was a great help when we mistakenly left a piece of luggage behind, she made sure our valuables were securely locked up. Our suite was extremely quiet and it was happily one third the price of what we paid for a smaller room in Los Angeles. Great value and great location.

Review 9:Love this place! Will stay over and over. Everything about the room is amazing! The restaurants within are delicious, prices are great, hotel is gorgeous and serene and you are right next to the middle of town where all the restaurants and shopping is. LOVE IT!!

Review 10:My family came to town for the Christmas Parade and I didn't have enough room. Daughter has had lifelong dream of staying downtown for the festivities and your beautiful hotel made their stay wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Perfect.

Review 11:The pillows were hard and the heat was hard to adjust, so I spent the entire night too hot.

Review 12:The staff and the historic presentation of the property is what I liked best.

Review 13:The bathroom toilet area cramped with very little leg room.

Review 14:Pet friendly! Easy access to movie premiere across the street at the Elks Theatre. Good food from restaurant.

Review 15:Did get tired using stairs but really did''nt hurt us.

Review 16:Welcome from Karen at the desk was so ice. She told us a lot about the hotel and was very personable. She asked us how everything was when she saw us the next day. Excellent employee fun and relaxing two days.

Review 17:It is a historic hotel so the rooms are small, the elevator has to be operated by the staff, so it is not as convenient from that perspective-- it is not a bad thing, you just need to have the right expectations.

Review 18:Location is great--you can walk into the center of town and it is also easy to hop in your car and drive to lakes, etc. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. We ate breakfast one day in the dining room and the food was really good and very reasonable, especially for being in the hotel. The ambiance is really special--so historic!

Review 19:We were travelling as two mature couples. We had booked two King suites and were looking forward to something special. Despite checking in not long after the earliest time of 3.00pm, we were given the two worst rooms in the hotel. They were cramped, dark, not especially clean and my sister's room did not have a bathtub, despite the promise of one on the booking confirmation. The duty manager the following morning even admitted that my sister had the worst room in the hotel!! Truly awful, the only redeeming feature was that the beds were extremely comfortable.

Review 20:The inn was in a good location for exploring the old centre of Prescott. The public rooms were lovely

Review 21:Needs some upgrade in the rooms

Review 22:This historic hotel is a pleasure to experience. The lobby is a treasure. The rooms are charming and super comfy. The location is perfect-away from the goings on at Whiskey Row but convenient. The staff is so helpful and good natured that the experience was great fun.

Review 23:Beautiful historic hotel with all of the modern conveniences. Unbeatable homey and relaxing atmosphere. The staff makes you feel at home, the food is excellent and Prescott is a wonderful town.

Review 24:No free breakfast. But there is an outstanding restaurant for breakfast just a block away (The Lone Spur Cafe).

Review 25:Absolutely a fabulous old time hotel. The service was impeccable. The room was small (it is an old hotel) but had all the amenities one would expect with a modern hotel. We also loved the lounge and the live music on a Thursday night.

Review 26:Parking is a long walk from the hotel with heavy bags.

Review 27:The staff were very helpful. Our rooms had character and comfortable beds. Breakfast in the Peacock room, whilst not included in the room rate, was excellent.

Review 28:Thin walls so you could hear people or TV in next room at times. Air con is very loud, we had to turn it off to get any sleep.

Review 29:We liked the look and feel of the hotel with it's old world charm and it's a great location. Staff are very friendly.

Review 30:The lemon pancakes. The description sounded wonderful. They were maybe a 2 if that. I guess the restaurant was out of lemons that morning

Review 31:All around friendliness. View, weather,,,,,Katie best bartender ever, The patio was lovely. Just an all around great time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review 32:in the double room the bed is about 12 inch from the bathroom , but other than that everything was great

Review 33:The staff was wonderful, helpful and excellent customer service. Hotel is very cute. I would definitely stay there again was worth every penny.

Review 34:No table. One small desk, one chair. Room was small. Television could have better picture.

Review 35:Room was comfortable, and clean. View was of the street, could see all the way up and down. Everything was walking distance.

Review 36:Wi-fi was a little erratic but it is an old hotel and there were also monsoon thunderstorms at night that could have had an impact. But we were on vacation so we didn't worry about it.

Review 37:This hotel is a gem. Beautifully maintained historic hotel with a wonderful, caring staff. Clean, attractive and conveniently located to everything in historic Prescott. We would never stay anywhere else in Prescott

Review 38:The best thing about the stay was the beauty of the Inn and the beauty of the people. Since the elevator had to be operated by someone who worked there, I felt a little funny at first. But every time, we even thought about taking the elevator, the people that worked there would drop anything to rush and help you and were always friendly, polite and professional.

Review 39:WiFi was troublesome the first day, but they reset it on our floor and was fine thereafter.

Review 40:The inn has been beautifully renovated & is a real charmer. We enjoyed the ambiance & unique vintage Prescott decor.

Review 41:Step up in bathroom. Lots of steps, in fact.

Review 42:Beautiful setting, historic, great service in bar and at breakfast, commodious suite, walk to everything we wanted to experience, gave us everything we asked for at hotel. We haven't stayed there in maybe five years. Seems better now.

Review 43:Stayed here several years ago and had a lovely room and reasonable rates. This Memorial weekend the prices were jacked up and the room was tiny, no view, and toilet too close to the floor. Only queen bed available. I ended up staying at my daughter's the second night and my husband stayed in your hotel.

Review 44:Good service from bellboys and room service.

Review 45:A charming, cozy old west hotel built in 1924 with very appropriate appointments. Fabulous location for walking the town. Would definitely return there.

Review 46:There was a wedding held in the lobby of the hotel. We were not allowed to pass thru the lobby to get to our room during the ceremony. Very annoying for other guests of the hotel.

Review 47:We liked everything!… from our first encounter with the friendly and professional front desk staff, to the first look at the well-appoionted room, the comfortable bed and gorgeous linens, the delicious dinner in the Peacock restaurant, the attentive wait staff, and a scrumptious trout breakfast the next morning!

Review 48:They held big weddings in the lobby all 3 days of our stay. Hard to even check in because we had to be quiet during ceremony. The lobby is lovely but should be enjoyed by the paying guests. Instead we had to go outside and sit on a bench. Pathetic. They should limit these income producing events to their private banquet rooms so it does not disturb paying guests. I felt trapped in my room, which are very old and tiny. The lobby is the best part of the hotel, which is why they charge to have weddings there but the hotel needs to make a choice between paying hotel guests and being a wedding venue. You can't have both. It's not fair to a guest who believes the public areas will be accessible to them as a guest. Tacky.

Review 49:Location

Review 50:When we arrived we were told that we had no reservation and the staff blamed Booking.com and Booking.com blamed the hotel for not putting it through when we reserved a month ago. It was an embarrassing and very inconvenient hassle and nobody on either side seemed to care that someone dropped the ball.

Review 51:The rooms, especially the bathrooms, where pretty small.

Review 52:Historic hotel near the main square in Prescott. Friendly staff! Great restaurant in the hotel and a great one just across the street.

Review 53:Nothing. The size of the room took a little getting used to, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff and definitely the location.

Review 54:The staff was very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. They greeted everyone and were very eager to help with anything. The room was a bit small but for a historical hotel it was very clean and everything worked very well, especially the air conditioner! The bathroom was small but very cute. The location was outstanding. Within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. We enjoyed hanging out along Whiskey Row and then being able to take a shirt walk back to our room. Overall I would absolutely stay at the Hassayampa again. We had a great time.

Review 55:My wife slipped in the bathtub the last morning we were there, and wound up fracturing her ribs so we spent most of the day unable to do the activities we had planned, and spent the rest of the evening in the hospital. Maintenance manager took care of the tub issue right away, fixing the tub and providing icepacks, but we never heard from any other manager, which seemed to me to be poor customer service. Hopefully we hear something back from the hotel manager so I can change this review because it wasn't a bad trip, it just didn't end well.

Review 56:We liked how close the hotel was to downtown and we could walk everywhere. Bed was comfortable, WiFi was great, food was good, maintenance manager was very helpful!

Review 57:Initially had difficulty getting on the free wifi. Staff indicated that the system needed rebooting and that did the trick. It was great after that.

Review 58:Great location, the bed was super comfortable and great bed linens.

Review 59:The elevator wasn't being operated while we were there, and only hotel staff can operate it. So we had to climb two flights of steep stairs with luggage. We got quite a workout that way though.

Review 60:The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. The bed was a pillowtop and quite comfy.

Review 61:I enjoy the ambiance of the hotel. It reminds me of a more peaceful tome in our nation. The staff is most Gracious and well versed in their duties. The restaurant is a joy to eat in.

Review 62:One (original) elevator, you must have staff operate it for you. They could put coffee in the lobby (self-service in room but amenities would be nice.) Staff was hit or miss...Aaron was fantastic...but the other desk help, young and not trained in providing top service

Review 63:The history, the location, the firepit, beautiful lobby area. Not right on Whiskey Row which is a good thing. Everything you need is close by. You can open your windows and get fresh air.

Review 64:No bad experience to report

Review 65:Was a perfect place for my 1 year anniversary. The girl and I were very pleased with the ambience and the politeness off the staff

Review 66:Only issue that we had was that the heating/ventilating unit was too loud.

Review 67:Walking distance to the square with Whiskey Row and all the other shops and restraunts. Staff couldn't be beat and facility is fabulous. The restruant and lounge were cozy and served excellent drinks and food.

Review 68:Not enough electrical outlets. Noisy guests. Bathroom was not functional for putting on makeup or doing hair.

Review 69:The bed was very cozy & comfortable & the staff was very pleasant

Review 70:Tiny room, looked nothing like web picture. Double bed almost filled the room. Torn window shears, very noisy and everything seemed pretty "rough". We noticed rooms across the hall looked 20-30% larger. We probably would have demanded to be moved, but we had already unpacked and settled in.

Review 71:Very friendly staff and great location. The hotel is beautiful and full of history, but lacking some of the features you would expect for the price. We booked for Valentine's weekend, so I noticed prices were higher, but even $20-$30 less I probably wouldn't stay again

Review 72:the heater was so noisy you could hear nothing else. sheets wouldn't stay on the bed that was not very comfortable at all.

Review 73:location was perfect. beautiful historic hotel.

Review 74:Location of the room was a bit dark which was a shame on a sunny day. But apart from that I was only disappointed we couldn't stay longer to use all the facilities. Fantastic hotel!

Review 75:Perfectly located to walk into the local area for restaurants and shops. Room was very private. There was a jacuzzi bath and I liked the fact that the toilet was seperate. The fireplace was beautiful and the piped music/nature sounds were such a nice touch. The pool looked amazing. And the restaurant was great for breakfast.

Review 76:Bed was quite firm. Room Lighting was below average - could not read in the room. Higher wattage lights are needed.

Review 77:Hotel location was very convenient and allowed us to walk to many restaurants and shops in town. It was also easy to remember how to get to hotel after driving to various locations. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and ample. Front desk staff was extremely cheerful and helpful.

Review 78:SMALL Small room, VERY, VERY, very small bathroom. The toilet was for a elementry school kid at best! Stair were a PITA. And noise from other rooms, you could hear a person snoreing in the next room. There are many other better choices, exercise those chioces.

Review 79:Convienent location

Review 80:Teeny-tiny (but still kind of charming) bathroom.

Review 81:Right in the heart of Prescott, minutes from everything. Historic charm, including old-fashioned elevator, beautiful lobby, and original tile work. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 82:Deluxe king room was very small and bathroom was poorly cleaned with several hairs in the tub area from the previous guest and the shower curtain had black mold. 1st and last time we will be staying at this hotel. There are several other options in the area including B n B's in a similar price range that will better fit your needs.

Review 83:The location is great ...right across the street from the Courthouses Square.

Review 84:Had a room with a joining door and the neighbors were loud. Was able to hear every word and noises their body made. Made for a long and unrestful night. Guests were rude having loud conversations in the hall at all times of the day as well as children running and screaming in the halls.

Review 85:Only one elevator and required a staff member to use! I am 80 yrs old and our room was 2 floors up! No mini-fridge in the room.

Review 86:The staff were all really nice, helpful and willing. The ambiance and dinner in the Peacock room were first rate

Review 87:The room was too small for a romantic getaway. We wanted to have breakfast in our room, but there wasn't a place for a tray . We didn't even have a place to hang our clothing. We were promised a robe, we did not have one. The sound on the television went in and out and at times was barely audible. the air-conditioning was so loud that every time it went on, it woke us up. I would not be complaining if this was a $95 room, but it was $199, not worth it at all.

Review 88:The breakfast served in the restaurant. Good service , very good food. Location, atmosphere, old and rustic

Review 89:The staff were so accommodating, we were in our room about 15 minutes and the front desk called to make sure our room was ok and to see if we needed anything.

Review 90:Because it is an old hotel the walls are thin... at 3 in the morning we woke up with people yelling in the hallway and running up and down.

Review 91:Love how close it is to everything.

Review 92:Beautiful period hotel. Lovely bathroom. Extremely comfortable bed. Excellent location just off the main square in downtown Prescott. Plenty of parking available.

Review 93:REALLY dislike the renovation! The new "booths" do not emit the same luxurious, comfortable feel of the colorful banquettes they replaced. The room color and decor are uninspired. The lighting is abominable. My husband and I are Prescott residents who have used the Peacock for special occasions with guests and for weekday meals by ourselves. We will not be back anytime soon. ;-(

Review 94:The treatment of the mussels is exceptional! Allison continues to be the jewel of the Peacock!

Review 95:The deluxe twin room could have been just a little bigger.

Review 96:The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the inn was old but very well kept up.Loved the heritage feel of Inn. The music playing was great, food at peacock inn was delicious.Returning soon, already booked for Thanksgiving.

Review 97:be prepared for a very small bathroom and some tight quarters in the room. I also wish it had a screened window and a fan. It would have been nice to enjoy the cool evening air, but I had to run the air conditioner to cool off the room.

Review 98:The location was perfect and the staff was terrific. If you like historic buildings and places, this is the spot for you.

Review 99:The room was small and a bit musky, but, for a historic building it was understandable. Le being right next to the square and whiskey row makes it a great place to stay.

Review 100:Difficult parking. Had to walk 3 flights of steps to get to room. They have an elevator, but it can only be used with the staff running. While a historical elevator has ambiance, there is no ambiance about climbing the stairs because you cannot run the elevator.

Review 101:Location Staff were very friendly

Review 102:The bathroom was very small and it was a good thing either one of us wasn't taller. I am afraid sitting down would have been more uncomfortable than it was. The toilet paper holder was positioned awkwardly. The air conditioning did not cover the sitting room. The sitting room was warm and stuffy and the bedroom was freezing. I went home with a cold which I am sure was due to the AC.

Review 103:The accessibility to historic downtown, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable regarding the area. The historic feel of the hotel was great, loved the elevator--it took you back in time.

Review 104:A/C was pretty noisy and set at 72º so it came on pretty frequently during the night. We were unable to set it to a different temp. We could only turn it on or off. Also, when we went down for breakfast around 9:30 the next morning, we sat outside in the courtyard after being assured at the front desk that someone would be out shortly to take our order. When no one showed after ten minutes, we went back inside to eat. We were quickly given a cup of coffee and then waited at least ten minutes for someone to take our order. It was after 10:00 by the time we got our food. Since check-out time is 11:00, we felt rushed. Not a good way to start the day.

Review 105:Clean, comfortable king bed with luxurious bedding. Period furnishings with the modern touch of a flat-screen tv. Nice view of the courtyard and fountain from our room. Appreciated the bottled water in the room.

Review 106:For those less mobile, there are lots of steps and stairs to navigate.

Review 107:Interesting hotel with lots of atmosphere and an art deco interior appropriate for the 1920's era when the place was built. Restaurant was recently remodeled and meals (dinner and breakfast) were outstanding.

Review 108:I wouldn't walk on the carpet without shoes on due to filth. I have allergies with pet dander, woke up and had to leave immediately due to them, couldn't get the elevator to come to the 4th floor at 6 a.m. after ringing multiple times. I had to carry bags down the stairs.

Review 109:History was Great

Review 110:I liked everything!!!

Review 111:Kind and helpful staff, delicious food in the restaurant, attentive restaurant staff, comfortable bed, charming and old-fashioned but with modern comforts.

Review 112:Sound travels between rooms and guests can hear their neighbor's voices.

Review 113:This place is close to town square with lots of shops and restaurants. The hotel has a fun history and a quiet bar to relax in.

Review 114:It had a funny smell. Needs paint and maybe new carpet?

Review 115:Location to downtown Prescott - everything we did was in walking distance. The historic aspects of the hotel are interesting. I like the King Suite set-up.

Review 116:Hotel staff were wonderful! Could hear live music from the courthouse and it was close to restaurants and shops. The view of the mountains, sunset and town square was beautiful!

Review 117:Having to call a member of staff to activate the lift for us. We felt guilty having to disturb them. Unfortunately I was unable to manage the stairs and was therefore reliant on the lift. The fact that the lift, the lobby, the bar and the restaurant were all on different levels, it made it a bit difficult for me to move around but it was always worth the effort.

Review 118:Warmth of the staff. Quality of the food in the restaurant. Even though the rooms were smaller than we were used to, they had everything we needed and were very charmingly furnished very much in keeping with the style of the building.

Review 119:offer free regular coffee and some fruit or cakes in the morning and it would be perfect

Review 120:The waitresses were a little bit clumsy, had coffee spilled on me after a spoon fell into my cup.

Review 121:The hotel is super cool and in a great location.

Review 122:nothing

Review 123:Everything

Review 124:Nothing

Review 125:Very quiet and close to everything in the downtown of Prescott.

Review 126:Wonderful ambience and love being able to walk to shops and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 127:All the staff was very helpful and cheerful. I love this Inn and I stay here every time I visit Prescott.

Review 128:The warmth and comfortable ambience of the Lobby was our favorite. We spent lots of time by the fireplace .

Review 129:Bathrooms are a bit Small, but very clean.

Review 130:Very fun place during the Holidays, can't beat the location. Very courteous staff fun lounge.
