Reviews for D-Hotel

Review 1:The design of the hotel seams to be more important than actual comfort, the room was freezing and we couldn't do anything about it despite having our air con on 33ºC. Bathroom was divided from the room just by a glass panel which means if one needed to go to the toilet your co-occupant would see exactly what is going on. The shower had very low pressure and the toiletries were of poor quality. To get to the actual room (room 42) you have to go through the very dimly lit corridor which made one feel like being in the dungeons or some sort of sex club. The spa has "no clothing" allowed policy which again makes it feel like some sort of sex club. If you like to stay in the hotel which is quite away from the centre, has no character and quality of your sleep is not important to the owner then that's the hotel just right for you.

Review 2:The design on the pictures looked great and that's about it...

Review 3:The hotel 'suffers' and ages quickly, a design hotel needs closer maintenance. Some parts of the concept need attention, mainly the functioning of the airco with windows that do not open (noise, better regulation).

Review 4:The overall concept, very nice venue, nice rooms, easy parking

Review 5:When we checked in we were told the restaurant was shut, for good. So we had to go back into town every night to eat. No iron in the room, no fridge, no kettle, had to go to the bar to get a cup of coffee or tea

Review 6:The large suite was great.

Review 7:The hotel is not as it first appears online and did not come close to meeting my expectations. No mini bar with a vending machine in the corridor is not what I expect from this type of hotel. The water ran dirty and no hair dryer was provided it had to be collected from reception. All in all a very poor experience with uninterested staff.

Review 8:This hotel is for religious 'design' fans only. The designer has wiped his behind with almost all things that make any hotel a good place to stay. For the first time in our lives we left early (went home, basically) - because we couldn't stand it any more. Just a few issues:* When opening the room, it smells badly. We park our luggage and leave for the town. We tell the reception it smells, but say specifically we do not want perfumes or other air 'refreshers' (we'd rather take the smell than that). When we come back: indeed, it smells like cheap toilet. Luckily, we are offered another room.* The rooms have a huge window at the front, but nothing that opens. This means the 'climate control' has to be on (if not, you suffocate in a quarter of an hour). But that doesn't work getting a fresh air feeling at all. Constant urge for oxygen makes sleeping difficult.* The 'bathroom' is separated from the sleeping part by a glass plate only. You cannot close it. The toilet is open too, which means noises and smells cannot be hidden. So even if you are with your life partner this is kind of embarrassing and disgusting. The shower is open too. Which means lots of water everywhere, including dampness getting into the sleeping part.* It's a long way to the rooms. You have to go via a tunnel. The tunnel smells badly (old goat?).* There is no proper desk in the room. What could be such a desk is inaccessible because there is a 'sound system' that you cannot remove. Laptop has to be handled, indeed, from your lap.* We get back to our room. The keycard refuses to open the door (red light). Luckily the room next to ours is open (presumably to get oxygen in it), so I telephone the reception from there. The speed dial for reception does not work (keeps you in standby forever). Luckily the old '9' does work. Reception tells us we need to come to the front desk.

Review 9:The hotel looks good from the outside. Easy to find, parking space is OK. The hotel is clean.

Review 10:breakfast too expensive, design of rooms too cool for my personal Preference, handle in the shower almost impossible to operate with wet Hands (tip: use towel), only two different sorts of beer in vending machine

Review 11:reception very friendly and professional, clean room, exceptional design

Review 12:We were a couple of friends who visit Belgium for a competition. We found it a little bit disterbing with the toilets because they did not have any door and there were one wall of glas in to the rest of the room... Perhaps it would not be a problem if you are a couple :)

Review 13:very modern and nice hotel. Clean and fresh rooms with very comfortly beds! :)

Review 14:The bathrooms are unacceptable to me because the toilet and shower facilities are open to the rest of the room. The glass panel which partly divides the bathroom from the sleeping area is - in my view - dangerous, because it is easy to walk into, particularly in the dark.

Review 15:If design means inconvenience, they nailed it. The rooms are far away from the lobby, making it not so handy with luggage. The shower has no door or curtain so the while bathroom gets wet. We asked for a child bed as one of our kids was staying for a night, no more child beds available. The room window cannot be opened, ventilation seems suboptimal, not a good combination The really tiny shampoo and body wash were not replaced after the first night. Fortunately we had some left from a more generous hotel.

Review 16:Location was convenient as we had a nearby function The bed was comfortable Interesting building but with design flaws Staff was not unfriendly but also not very helpful

Review 17:Toilet and shower should be separated from the room by a door. Currently its seperated by a glass wall with no door. The rest it is ok.

Review 18:Well decorated, so quite, very nice and modern rooms. I really recommend it. If below comment is not important to you.

Review 19:very very dark down tunnel needs more lights especially at night, not keen on mood lighting . tv remote did not work very well in room 43. no access to any English news channel

Review 20:near to expo

Review 21:Sometime the appeal for modern kill the practical. The glass transparent wall between the room and the badroom is not so safe when you are sleepy at night. Dark tunnel to the rooms with a disco like lighting -innovative but not practical or pleasant

Review 22:Friendliness of the staff. The innovative interior design

Review 23:Fire alarm twice during the night, poor quality of finishing elements of the room, yellow water in the toilet (no filter?), radio not working, poor quality of breakfast, unfriendly staff

Review 24:Charmed by the architecture

Review 25:I dont have internet in the room

Review 26:Very friendly personel

Review 27:Little bit out of the way if you have transport fine. Could have been more choice on menu

Review 28:Spotlessly clean pleasant staff

Review 29:We didn't like the fact that there was no privacy in the bathroom, It would of been nice to have a door.

Review 30:Nice bed and friendly staff

Review 31:Lack of fresh air in the rooms

Review 32:The resturant was not open on a Monday and no indication of this was given at time of booking

Review 33:Horrible stay, fire alarm going three times in the night. People unpolite at the reception, poor breakfast.

Review 34:Missing things , breakfast price / too high quality : 3:10

Review 35:Design

Review 36:bathroom without any door, no hair-dryier, no bottle of water to drink....

Review 37:Exremis Furniture in the garden, old wooden elements in the building

Review 38:The state of the art design for the hotel is second to non, it is breath taking. I enjoyed my stay

Review 39:Rooms looking tired No facilities - was not practical 20 Euros to loan ahairdryer Not once did staff ask if all was ok?

Review 40:Concept design Parking

Review 41:the architecture. the integration of the old mill house in the minimalistic new blocks.

Review 42:Skippery shower !

Review 43:It is not the first time I came to this hotel but I was really disappointed this time. Unfortunately, gym machines don't work.SPA access isn't included in the price of the room and was quite pricey this time.

Review 44:Friendly stuff

Review 45:Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Yes, the hotel is quirky but that just added to the fun. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. It's a little out of town but location was not important to us as were there for cycling. If you have a problem with this hotel you have a problem with life.

Review 46:The room has not been maintained to a 4* Hotel. The blinds which made up the pictures on either side of the room had pieces missing, or were back to front, so the overall effect was missing. The projector which I was later told, had lots of issues, so they decided to remove it, still had the brackets and wires hanging from the ceiling. The upstairs toilet when flushed made a annoying noise down in our room, which made for a very long night as the person above us kept going to the bathroom. The shelf in the bathroom was loose and fell down whilst we were in the shower. This was dangerous, as it was a metal triangle shaped shelf and had very sharp edges. This could have done some considerable damage had you had your foot or other body part nearby. It should also have been explained that because this is an ECO hotel, that the colour of the water in the toilet is a funny brown colour. For the price of this hotel, you would have expected a lot more. The room needs a thorough paint job as well. I have already informed the hotel of all of the above, and advise them that whilst the concept of the hotel is great, it needs maintaining to be able to charge the rates that it does.

Review 47:The staff - particularly the bar staff were super helpful. Especially with getting hot water for our daughter's bottle.

Review 48:- we booked a junior suite for a romantic getaway, but quite a bummer if your king size bed are in fact 2 separate mattresses and 2 sheets. - we thought that junior suite is the best value for money as it includes sauna access... well don't bother as sauna access is not checked at all, so we could have better booked a standard room (see also above comment) - already some signs of wear 'n tear (maintenance is lacking)

Review 49:- conveniently located just outside city centre - nice design

Review 50:Dangeros..the room has a transparent glass wall to separate bedroom from bathroom which I crashed into it a couple of times..the shower plate it's unstable and very slippery..outside the room the corridor it's totally dark.

Review 51:Toilets without doors + walls made of transparent glass? I trully would love to know who designed the rooms. He must have been really HIGH. I am never coming back again.

Review 52:Location and food was good

Review 53:1. Two single beds pushed together 2. No matter how many times I put up the heating, it would turn itself off and the room became cold again. 3. Bedding was inadequate 4. Some of the functions didn't work in the wellness spa

Review 54:1. Wellness centre 2. Bathtub (biggest I've ever been in) 3. Open plan room 4. Staff warm and friendly 5. Architecture (I liked the blend of the old and new) 6. Restaurant nice and modern with nice cuisine.

Review 55:The desk woman was not able to recommend a close restaurant (only a list was available). Breakfast is too expensive.

Review 56:Interesting concept. Nice and comfortable rooms.

Review 57:Bearing in mind I owned a two star hotel in Nottingham. This hotel beinga top class hotel!!!!. (Ithink Not) first after travelling 12 hours fromvictoria spain, and losing 3 hours due to traffic holdups, we arrive21.30 hours at the hotel. The very first thing I ask for was do you havea resturant as we have not eaten. We were informed we dont have aresturant but you can order a pizza, being very dissapointed at notbeing able to eat, we order a pizza, I ask about this and was told wewill deliver to your room. 30 minutes later I walked to the receptionand ask about the pizza, the answer I got was oh yes its here, Openingthe pizza we found it was cold and od course not very good. Cost 22euros. My wife decided to shower and wash her hair. To our surprise noHairdrier. To get a hardrier cost 20 euros. We did not bother.Nextmorning we went for breakfast cost extra 16 euros per person. Nothingvery special, yes there was scrambled egg with bacon. Warm but not thatwarm.all in all I would not recomend this hotel to any person. As a fourstar hotel it lacked so many things. Total cost including breakfast, pizza, 2 glasses red wine and 1 cola plus tax. 226 euros. The nightbefore I stopped in a 2 star hotel including breakfast tax etc 60 euros.Which by the way had a resturant with amazing food and the costs fordinner for two including wine was 47 euros. Very good value for money. The d-hotel is totally bad.

Review 58:The room was good but the bath room was not that good, it had no privacyand you could see everything even a person sitting on the toilet.Comfort was okay.

Review 59:Restaurant is closed so need to take the car to eat out. No room service. No breakfast in the room. Many ´ hi-tech ´ stuff not working when there.

Review 60:Cool architecture. Staff very friendly.

Review 61:Style over substance:1) Spa facilities shut at 8.00 pm (but can still be accessed by a guest on payment of an extra Eur 60.00 per person !!!) 2) Restaurant was shut - we were offered the option of a pizza delivery or a 15 minute taxi journey into town 3) WiFi coverage was virtually non-existent...
