Reviews for Aspen Mountain Lodge

Review 1:I wasn't a fan of the misinformation of Independence Road being closed. That being said when my group traveled through it and saw it was closed, we had to backtrack all the way to 70 and extend our trip by 3 hours. Sure, it isn't the hotels fault as the real villain is MapQuest; but, could the hotel leave a friendly reminder on the website that the road is closed?

Review 2:The place was nice and cozy. The room was conveniently located directly next to the gather area where people have breakfast. Breakfast wasn't bad, couldn't hurt to have bacon and eggs. Overall not a bad place. Located within walking distance to Belly Up

Review 3:Not a lot to do if no snow on the ground, but it is a skiing resort after all.

Review 4:Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Good clean rooms and in a good location for everything

Review 5:This was a very nice lodge but what we really liked the best is that it turned out to be in the same location as the Applejack Inn where we stayed 50 years ago on our honeymoon (this was our 50th Ann.) (

Review 6:Didn't realize there was an actual staff attendant during breakfast because he was seated at a table reading a book and didn't notice things needed replenishing

Review 7:Desk clerk was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable

Review 8:There were some stains on the rug, and while the bathroom was a nice size with lots of shelves, someone else's hair was on one of the shelves throughout my stay. Also, it's not much in the way of design and feels very '70s. But considering what I paid, I was delighted to get such a nice room, despite these minor flaws, which I could live with. (Not sure if I would be as delighted, though, if I were paying the full high-season rate!)

Review 9:Very reasonably priced. Even though I paid a discounted booking.com rate, I was upgraded to one of the best rooms on the top (4th) floor, which was very spacious and comfortable with skylights and a private terrace with a view of the mountains. Top floor is quiet and secluded -- only three rooms, no elevator -- especially compared to the other floors where there are no halls and the rooms open directly onto the lobby or breakfast room. So I really appreciated being upgraded! I was also glad to have free WiFi, even if it was a bit slow, as well as free continental breakfast and free parking.

Review 10:The front desk staff did not volunteer to help 3 women with their bags. We had to explicitly ask for him to call a taxi for the airport the next morning instead of just being given a phone number. He just didn't offer to help without being specifically asked. The facilities feel old and bathroom is run down. Everything is clean. Everything in Aspen is expensive so this just may be what you get for approximately $300/night.

Review 11:The location is great.

Review 12:Thin thin walls, we could hear complete sentences through the walls. Breakfast was included but sub optimal. One of the cheaper places in Aspen but I think they could still step up their game with breakfast.

Review 13:The room was clean and comfortable. The amenities were nice, location was good, front desk staff wonderful, had a B and B type feel.

Review 14:The room itself along with the carpeting was outdated. It could definitely use a vacuum run. Also, out nights sleep was very disturbing because of a raucous crowd in the overhead room. The walls and the roof are thin no doubt. It would help better a persons stay by making the rooms even slightly soundproof.

Review 15:Location, location, location. Good staff that made our stay memorable.

Review 16:Basically this more a rooming house than hotel. Breakfast was passable at best. The rates are high for what you get.

Review 17:Good location, although on noisy street. The room is spacious. There may be other fascilities we were not aware of.

Review 18:The woman preparing breakfast didn't have it ready when we arrived at 7:30. She didn't put out the waffle things even though the waffle iron was out. When we asked her questions she ignored us. She seemed in a very bad mood.

Review 19:The man who checked us in was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. He offered us lots of good information on the facility and the surrounding area.

Review 20:Sound proofing is an issue. Try to be on the top floor if you have any control over it! Bottom floor you hear everyone above you and everyone in the common areas. Also parking is free but there are not a lot of spots so get there early if you can and leave your car as you can walk to aspen from the room!

Review 21:The location, charm, and room were fantastic. Everything was clean and cozy. The layout of the room was fantastic, breakfast was lovely, and the staff was very friendly!

Review 22:The car park is not big enough to cater for all the guests, the car park was full when we arrived and had to park on the road which was not a problem as it was Friday afternoon and no parking restrictions apply on weekends. However midweek during the working day parking is limited to 2 hrs. The breakfast was rather basic but was good nevertheless.

Review 23:A very enjoyable stay at a well appointed hotel only 2/3 minutes walk from the centre of Aspen and all on the flat!

Review 24:Not enough parking for guests in the lot, but street parking is available.

Review 25:Cozy atmosphere. Room was comfortable and well maintained. Attentive staff. Very nice breakfast.

Review 26:There was no fan in the bathroom. We opened the window, but it was pretty cold by morning. I don't know what you do during the winter. The soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower was difficult to use. There was only one bar of soap provided. It would be nice if coffee was provided earlier. There was a SMALL pot in the room, but it was barely enough for 2.

Review 27:The lady at the front desk was helpful and cheerful. She recommended some wonderful restaurants. The beds were comfortable. We could easily walk to downtown. There is a small parking lot next to the hotel-get there early to get a space. There was a breakfast provided, but it didn't start until 7:30 (not a minute earlier) so we didn't have any.

Review 28:No elevator..not a big deal.

Review 29:Hotel was walking distance from downtown (6-8 blocks). Staff was quite helpful in giving directions and bringing in luggage. Had free parking...a premium in Aspen.

Review 30:Breakfast was ok. The bananas were too ripe, mushy and there wasn't a selection for hot meats like bacon or sausage.

Review 31:Comfortable beds and cleanliness of the bathroom and suite.

Review 32:The floors are all wood and you can hear creaking whenever someone walks in the halls.

Review 33:The hotel is very close to everything. Within walking distance of the shopping district.

Review 34:I don't think our bathroom had an exhaust fan.

Review 35:Awesome customer service!

Review 36:Front desk was friendly and knowledgable. Top floor room had a great view. Beds were comfortable.

Review 59:Not much

Review 60:They were working on the main water line during my stay and it was loud and messy.

Review 62:paper thin walls - you can hear everything

Review 63:location is great!

Review 64:Cozy and comfortable beds, robes, amenitites,, mini fridge, friendly staff and extremely CLEAN! Great location and Great price!
