Reviews for Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa
Review 1:Bar Tender NOT friendly or welcoming, hence no bar crowd. Pool bar service slow and very average food.
Review 2:Room was comfortable and clean. Like new complimentary toiletries. Liked the provision of the Playmate cooler.
Review 3:The staff was incredibly hospitable and acomodating. The facilities were very cozy and the location was great, just footsteps from the beach. Special thank you for Magda, one of the employees. She wenbt above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Review 4:The wireless is terrible and in practical not possible to use neither on beach or in room. Really need to be fixed! Pool a little small and close to restaurant to be used.
Review 5:Great location directly on beach with very good space on beach. Small intimate and personal hotel, standing out from the nearby anonymous 'all-inclusive charter' hotels, with a wonderful staff and excellent food.
Review 6:Service in hotel and restaurants was very good. Front desk staff was extremely pleasant and helpful Beach is widest in Aruba with beautiful white sand. Dinner in the French Steakhouse was delicious with free glasses of wine.
Review 7:1) No service at the beach. We had to look for chairs ourselves to place them in the huts. We could not order not even a glass of water at the beach. There is no food or beverage service offered to you at the beach. If you needed anything you had to stand up and walk not less than 50 meters to go to the Pega Pega Bar. And then you had to take your drink to the beach by yourself. 2) There was no reposition of shampoo and gel for the second night in our room. 3) They removed the sheet below the duvet after the first night and did not provide for a new one. 4) I had to argue to have them honor the ¨gifts¨offered as food companions, when we arrived. The first argument was about the wine selection for the glass of wine offered for dinner at the French Steak House, the first night of our stay. After having an unnecessary argument they accepted my request for a Santa Margherita glass of wine, instead of the house wine they insisted I should have, even when I suggested I would pay for the difference between them. After 2 arguments, they acknowledged my request. The second was about the ¨free desert¨, offered if one ate japanese food, which I did the second night, but in my room. They initially denied the dessert because ¨I was supposed to eat the japanese food in the restaurant¨ and that was not written anywhere. A very unpleasant argument forced them to admit I was right. The food manager came to our room to present her apology. I had finished my dinner more than 15 minutes by then. By the way, they never brought fork and knife for the dinner, even when I requested them for my wife to eat her pear salad. So, she had to eat it with the japanese sticks. 5) We heard hotel personnel arguing with each other in loud voice for having being left alone to serve customers with little help, because a big group of personnel went out to a celebration for the environment protection.
Review 8:Location and beach extension are the best things you get from these place. The money they charge for a room is too much for what you get. You can convince yourself of this by looking at the Aruba Beach Hotel rates, which is adjacent to Manchebo Beach Resort.
Review 9:The only thing I didn't like was how far the lounge chairs are from the actual ocean. The beach itself is clean, pretty, and not crowed and they had excellent beach side service. We had all-inclusive breakfast which is a value of $20 per breakfast and you get access to the breakfast bar which is ok, but for $20 I was expecting more. I do recommend having them make you an omelet or eggs as this is definitely better then what you'll find at the breakfast bar.
Review 10:The service was exceptional everyone was so friendly and extremely helpful especially with making reservations for dinner and excursions. The hotel is clean and the restaurants are very good, especially the Sushi! The resort is very romantic and we really enjoyed our sunset dinner! We were able to really relax and unwind.
Review 11:Lunch. Food served at Pega Pega Cafe is frankly disappointing in term of choice and quality.
Review 12:This is a resort with very good reputation slightly overpriced for the services as provided (as everything in Aruba though) with the best beach on the island. The management should consider extending the services provided with All inclusive plan. At the current state the All inclusive plan does not worth money paid. The management should also consider revising the choice and quality of food served at breakfast and lunch and also should consider recruiting younger and more professional staff. We will consider returning back because of the beach.
Review 13:Not a bad thing, but the water was a bit of a walk.
Review 14:Tranquil, quiet. No motorized anything, no loud distractions. Beach was never crowded, thatched umbrella was mine for the day. No bling or neon. Beach bar was relaxing, close. I just went from bed to beach in a few steps.
Review 15:Hot water wasn't come in a night time, and claimed it but not fixed shortly. only 1 night
Review 16:Mostly beach. Even though strong windy every day, we full satisfied our stay in Aruba.
Review 17:2 story hotel on the beach with quick access., Always a beach hut available and they are free. Good service from beach bar with very good food at decent prices. Comfortable room with great maid service. Close to many great restaurants.
Review 18:Other than the birds "stealing" your food when you're not careful... nothing really.
Review 19:Personal service from the time you check in til the time to check out, the friendliness of the entire staff (they really get out of their way to make you happy), the beach, the atmosphere, breakfast as well as the restaurant food! (Their service deserves a 5-star award!!)
Review 20:The only negative was we couldnt stay as long as we wanted.
Review 21:Everything was great. I have never been to a resort were it is exactly as pictured. The staff was excellent and everyone knew us by name by the end of our stay. We will definitely be returning!
Review 22:The beds should be replaced in a year or two. For those who don't know it's quite windy at Aruba, particularly in June-July, and it seemed as Manchebo was in one of the more windy spots. I'm not talking about a breeze, but a 10-15 m/s (22-34 mph) continuous 24/7 eastern wind. Great for kite/wind surfers, but maybe not fully appreciated by everybody incl. us. Not that it was cold at all but towels, books and flip-flops have to be anchored not to take off.
Review 23:The staff! So nice and welcoming. The entire layout of the resort. Plenty of space. Excellent food. All courses we tried were top notch. The Mojitos and Caipirinhas too. Good sized and nicely decorated rooms. No tub but a large shower. The tap water taste well and is fully drinkable. Fantastic beach where the sand doesn't turn hot but is walkable without shoes. Serene and relax able location.
Review 24:Beach chair uncomfortable Housekeeping did not change bedding - saw same stain for a few days on the comforter
Review 25:Staff was great
Review 26:Extremely helpful staff. Wonderful location. Perfect for honeymooners.
Review 27:Staff knows your name and goes above and beyond. Jean our dinner waitress was so awesome.
Review 28:Too many birds at breakfast
Review 29:The beach was great and the service from the staff
Review 30:People running the SPA WERE UNPLEASANT AND NOT HELPFULL
Review 31:Staff location and food were all excellant
Review 32:Right on beach with plenty of palapas Great staff
Review 33:Staff, pool, beach, location, restaurants.
Review 34:The bar closes sharp at 11pm which often doesn't give you time to enjoy a few drinks after your evening meal. I know it's a peaceful resort, but it felt a bit too quiet at night, sometimes with no background music at all playing and 1 TV. The bar could also be a little slow when certain staff were working, and they seemed to concentrate on people they previously knew. These are just minor points however.
Review 35:The setting is great, the pool is never too busy, and the beach is outstanding - big, white sands, clear blue water and not crowded.
Review 36:need to travel if you want any beach activities (snorkelling, speed boat rides etc)
Review 37:quiet location great beach relaxed atmosphere very friendly and helpful staff beach service for food and drink happy hour baby turtles!!
Review 38:We loved the peaceful atmosphere. There was always a palapa available on the beach...beach was never crowded and neither was resort in general. Room was very clean and grounds were kept beautifully! Friendliness was their staff theme!
Review 39:Staff were great for the most part, i wasnt too pleased with a waitress she wasnt warm or accommodating. I nicely asked if i could have ice cream (pregnant lady here) that i noticed another patron having, and she told me that was a special request bc they didnt have fish to offer them. Was told i could go purchase ice cream at the store. That lack of customer service threw us off. I asked if they had fresh lemonade, she smirked and went on to giving me a lesson as to how lemonade was made at the resort from a jug of concentrate. Hmmm ok
Review 40:We liked our ocean view room, though room was a tad small. Good enough for 2 ppl. The beach is gorgeous, ample, clean. You're not on top of people like at other hotels. We liked that we didnt have to walk long distances to reach facilities like in other large resorts. Very tranquil place, exactly what we wanted. We are in our early thirties, most couples were older but we were not looking for party crowds or hotel. Great location. We took bus downtown or to high rise to eat out. 5 min ride
Review 41:Staff was not on top of their information gave us a 2 bed room when are1 couple you can hear people moving furniture if you are on bottomlevel cleaning service does not replenish all toiletries, esp toiletpaper or lotion
Review 42:Location
Review 43:You name it, it was awful. The staff were miserable, the hygienefacilities on the beach bar were dreadful and the room furniture wasdirty. We arrived at breakfast to find no tables laid-up and thepresence of birds pecking at everythng in sight was intolerable (Idon't like bird droppings on plates I'm about to eat off).Thehotel ran out of Sauvignon Blanc, the tv catered totally for the usvisitors, the bed was way too narrow for a happily married couple andthere was simply nothing to do.
Review 44:One member of staff - John Marie - was brilliant
Review 45:Nothing to report.
Review 46:This was my second visit to Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa. They have completed several improvements to the facilities: modernized baths, contemporary styled room accommodations and well maintained buildings, grounds and beach.
Review 47:All staff are friendly and helpful. The food in the two restaurants is good. The beach is the best on Aruba. The location is good with restaurants all around.
Review 48:Slow wifi (sometimes to the point of being of no use), breakfast buffetvery limited with food not always fresh, noisy fridge in room, peoplereserving beach chairs by putting their towels on the chairs.
Review 49:Perfect location directly on the beach, parking always available onlocation, nice to have an ice cooler available.
Review 50:The walls were thin and every time someone slammed a door in the morning, it woke me up. Perhaps they could install those door closures to minimize impact sounds.
Review 51:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The beach was less crowded than other parts of Aruba and very beautiful. Spa on the beach was great.
Review 52:Our bathroom sewer stinks bad. We ask staff to clean that but stillstinks. Restaurants closing early (11pm) Pool in quite small
Review 53:Food was very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beach was clean andsafe...not too much people :d Hotel and area is clean and safety. Aircondition +++
Review 54:Very limited menu in both restaurants and disappointed with ' Ike's Bistro' choices. Would have eaten in resort more often if there had been more variety on the menu's. Wouldn't recommend all inclusive or half board as too limited.
Review 55:Relaxing and excellent location right on beach and spa treatments were lovely. Friendly and helpful staff . Lovely place to stay. Low rise and traditional Caribbean hotel. Breakfast buffet was reasonable.
Review 56:The matress was so so , we woke up everyday with aches all over our body. No elevator. The service at the beach could be better. Breakfast was terribly pricy for its quality, which makes no sense since you can shop at great grocery stores nearby (ling and sons) and have breakfast at the terrace in your room. Spa del Sol was ok, but a little overpriced.
Review 57:The beach is awesome, really calm and great for couples. The pool is not great, but was always empty and at a great temperature, which was nice. There were complimentary apples at the reception and the guy who rents the cars (a must in our opinion) was very nice. We also got some nice honeymoon T-shirts and a welcome champagne. Eagle beach is a nice place to stay, in between the hassle of Palm Beach and Downtown Orajestead. It also has the best sunset in the island and to our opinion, the nicest beach to relax under the sun.
Review 58:The only thing which may be an issue for some is that the hotel is far from the high rise hotel area, where the scene is more "happening". This just means we had to take a taxi a lot of the time.
Review 59:The staff was very helpful, and I loved the fact that I could step outside of my room and literally be on the beach in about 15 steps. The cocktails at the bar are also amazing!! The hotel was small, but was still very nice inside. Bathroom was very updated, and I loved the waterfall shower!
Review 60:We Didn t like the fact that we had to pay more than 30 dollars a day tochange our room. In the first room that we reserved the sound of thenext hotel generator was so loud that you couldn't sleep. We don t thinkit was correct to extra charge us, those rooms should be not be sold totourists because they are too loud.
Review 61:The location
Review 62:The casual relaxing atmosphere was great if you want to just be on the beach. The staff would go out of their way to help you. The restaurants were very good and reasonably priced. We like Giorgio's the best--dining outside was very nice, and there was more to choose from the menu. We would definitely go back again.
Review 63:I really like the hospitality and kindness of the staff! I stayed thereduring 6 nights with my girlfriend and everything was great! Nothing tocomplain about!;)
Review 64:We had a wonderful stay at Manchebo. Its quite and clean. Its on one of the best beaches in aruba Eagle beach. We also liked the french steakhouse and the spa. Would highly recommend for a couple looking for a nice relaxing vacation.

Review 73:A Gem.....Lovely facility....A staff who is real, friendly and non obtrusive.Never felt crowded or rushed.

Review 76:I LOVE Manchebo Beach Resort! This is my second time staying there and I can't wait to go back! Excellent staff, service, rooms, beach and food!!
Review 77:Room service was a bit difficult to reach on one morning.
Review 78:Location, location, location. The quiet atmosphere was also a big plus.
Review 79:The very noisy Americans at the beach bar between 17.00 and 19.00. Theyare so uncouth
