Reviews for Molly Gibson Lodge
Review 1:The room was too small and temperature not easily regulated - we did pick the room, so we should have researched the relative sizes better
Review 2:The Apres Ski and the hot tub were great. Also being next to the bus stops for all the mountains was excellent.
Review 3:We stayed on the first floor and the noises from the second floor (stomping, boots, etc) were pretty loud - enough to wake us at times.
Review 4:Great location! Very nice staff. Excellent breakfast! Had everything we needed.
Review 5:Great breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and oatmeal. Lots of choices. Cold cuts and fruits available. The personnel in charge of breakfast were very helpful and friendly. Has large heated swimming pool and several jacuzzis. Hotel is in a prime location on Main Street. My room was quiet. The room itself and the dining room could use some upgrades. The furnishings were dated. Overall, a good place to stay and I recommend highly.
Review 6:When we first arrive at 3 am the heater wasn't working so we couldn't sleep because of the cold, and we had to wait until 8 am for the maintenance guy to fix it!! Although he tried he couldn't do they change us to a different room and they refund us half of one night for the trouble so it wasn't that bad after all.. ;)
Review 7:We like that the room was clean and the breakfast was very good, as well for the costumer service... They took good care of us!!
Review 8:Staff was non-attentive. Breakfast area was dirty and in a basement area. Room was very dated... Especially the bathroom. Not a bad place, but for $200+ a night I was not impressed.
Review 9:Room had a wood burning fire place, which was very nice.
Review 10:On Main Street, so lots of traffic noise. Bed was old and you could feel the bow in the middle of the bed.
Review 11:Close to everything in Aspen. Hot Tub is lovely.
Review 12:A/C and heating system was so loud that we were neither able to talk in the room - only solution was to switch it off. Poor cleaniness of the external areas; Not good value for money (very small room at a very high price)
Review 13:Breakfast was ok - location good in the center of town
Review 14:The only problem we had was the bright light right outside our window. Kept us awake. The window needs a curtain to block it.
Review 15:Everything was great. Clean, comfortable, quiet, great staff, good price!!
Review 16:The rooms were too small and the bathroom had black mold in grout. Service was fine but I look at ratings when booking vacations and this was rated too high. Big dogs were running loose and barking in front of our room.
Review 17:The staff was very nice and helpful.
Review 18:Room 201 is roadside (10 feet away) and very noisy. There was a loud mechanical noise (24/7) at the time also (sounded like a hydraulic ram) that impacted our comfort.
Review 19:Location is good, being towards centre of town.
Review 20:Very convenient location, room in the back building was quiet, ample breakfast, but would like to suggest new carpeting in the breakfast room and stairs.
Review 21:The room is small, the bathroom is tiny, the decor is old, no mini fridge in the room, and no water, up in the mountain with high altitude that the min. they should have provided for the guests. Also lots of rowdy guests.
Review 22:Location is convenient, free breakfast
Review 23:The room was small but that's to be expected in the heart of Aspen, especially last minute. However, everything about the room was top notch! Starbucks coffee, Keurig, microwave, fridge, great bedding. Above all very clean!
Review 24:The staff was amazing! Very friendly, informative & knowledgeab!
Review 25:Hotel looks shabby inside & out. In dire need of upgrading. Bathroom so small you can barely dry off after a shower. Rooms also small & in need of remodeling although they are clean & neat. Stained carpets, out of style tile in the bathrooms and gouged wood doors and framing. Breakfast was below standard & served in a rather unpleasant room in the basement. Very limited parking near the hotel. In my room, the ironing board had a broken leg & wouldn't open properly.
Review 26:Great location on Main St but still quiet. Relatively reasonable rates compared to other hotel offerings in Aspen proper. Swimming pool & hot tubs. Affable staff. Bikes available. Free WiFi.
Review 27:Breakfast was not very healthy or tasty. Front desk staff should discuss it with the cooking staff.
Review 28:Location, room with fireplace and hot tub, pool! Also, the staff rocked and was quite knowledgeable with out being Aspenite!
Review 29:Noise, especially people sitting out by the pool all night talking. Could not leave windows open. Breakfast was one of the reasons I chose this place it but it was highly over rated in the reviews.
Review 30:Location was nice, right across from a park. Staff was helpful. Room was clean.
Review 31:Room seemed a bit outdated. The TV was ok, although could have been a bit larger. A microwave and table for eating would have been nice to have in the suite.
Review 32:Great location. WiFi worked great. The continental breakfasts were a nice touch. Very friendly staff that was always willing to make an extra effort to make out stay as comfortable as possible.
Review 33:The hotel room had a noisy window air conditioning unit. During the night it dropped water all over our large luggage and the next morning the entire bag and contents were soaked. No dry clothing for us. Called front desk and they seemed indifferent and sent a guy to put down a towel. Thanks for no help. I already did that. We arrived later then planned but not too late and parking was completely full and the street parking was blocked due to a festival. Had to walk blocks in the dark to park car.
Review 34:The location in Aspen was good.
Review 35:The rooms are small, the bathrooms smaller. The windows all face out so that you have to have the blinds closed. It reminded me of an old Holiday Inn that had been gussied up without the infrastructure changed
Review 36:Hmmm
Review 37:The air conditioner blew on us all night because its a wall unit above one of the beds. For $350 a night I expected a little nicer place. We had a second floor walk-up; no king beds were available, and the shower had no place to put the soap.
Review 38:The hot tub was nice.
Review 39:Limited parking. Was issued a parking permit to park on the street and after my 1st night my windshield was cracked. My family and I left the hotel. No refunds. Management was unreasonable to deal with.
Review 40:Breakfast not the best although fruit was nice.
Review 41:Good central location. Our suite was very spacious with 2 huge t.v.'s, big spa bath (took a while to fill!) and bed extra comfortable. Staff helpful and pleasant ordering taxis and helping with slight issue we had with our hire car.
Review 42:Getting quite dated now - I found it entertainingly retro but others may not care for it. Jacuzzi was huge but not very functional.
Review 43:Great value for Aspen. Easy to walk to everything. Good free breakfast. Tons of space in our upgraded room, including fireplace and jacuzzi.
Review 44:Good location -- just a few blocks away from downtown Aspen and very close to bus stops. Had everything I need in the room for a comfortable stay and restful sleep. Good selection for breakfast though I wish there is some variety in the daily selection; nonetheless, breakfast is really good. Over-all, I had an awesome stay. Would definitely stay here again when I go back to Aspen! :)
Review 45:I didn't like that they didn't have all the movies that they said they had!
Review 46:I liked the convenience of being right downtown Aspen and the awesome room!
Review 47:the room was very nice. wish it was colder so we could have had a fire. we stayed in 5 or six different hotels in a 2 week period on a trip and this one was the nicest!
Review 48:The hot tub near our room wasn't working, the wood siding needed some maintenance, and the sink in the room had three very large cracks in it.
Review 49:Location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Review 50:I really enjoyed everything about this place, staffing people are amazing, hot tub, breakfast, rooms and complementary bicycles is always a plus, I definitely will be back again.
Review 51:property a bit dated, a bit of street noise and no view but for the price excellent value.
Review 52:Full hot breakfast, staff, fireplace, bath products were all excellent.
Review 53:Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, jacuzzi tub in room, excellent breakfast, great location within walking distance of downtown attractions.
Review 54:Nothing - you are spot on with customer service and amenities. Well done.
Review 55:The room was spacious, the beds were superiorly fantastic, the shower was full and not a trickle, the soaps and cleasers provided were wonderful, the robes and hot tubs were awesome, the dinner buffet and breakfast were sooooo good. You are awesome!
Review 56:The free breakfast and the wine or beers served with a great variety of food that was also free in the afternoons. Great place, I'll only try to stay here now.
Review 57:Nothing at all.
Review 58:All the staff gave a great welcome. Luxury in the room Great breakfast and après ski food Wonderfully warm outdoor pool and the most powerful hot. Walking distance to the centre. Good car parking. Everything!
Review 59:I can truly say there wasn't much I did not enjoy about Molly Gibson. For the Jr. king Suite we stayed in I would have preferred to have a microwave or some warming devices.
Review 60:Not only does the facility keep the colorado feel and approach, it's interior design and cleanliness makes me want to go back to only that facility each time I visit!
Review 61:The hotel was quite old and tired although in a very good location with shuttle stop right out the front. The buildings were not connected and breakfast room was across the back lane. Also pools were out of order for most the time we were there.
Review 62:Location was great, afternoon drinks and canapes fantastic.
Review 63:A couple of bad advices from the front desk.
Review 64:1- It's not cheap as anything in Aspen, but it was the best cost-benefit we've found; 2- staff was very friendly; 3- great free aprés ski, with nice beer and wine from 4:30pm to 6pm; 4- great localization, close to bus stops to all the free shuttles to the mountains; 5- few blocks to downtown; 6 - it doesn't charge to receive packages from the guests; 7 - I recomend the rooms located in the back of the hotel, with a nice view to the mountain.
Review 65:Room was a little dated in the decor buy very well maintained.
Review 66:Breakfast, friendly staff and a fireplace in our room made the Molly Gibson a great place to stay.
Review 67:Room was extremely small. Old building, loud at night because of echoing "courtyard". Never again!
Review 68:Excellent staff. Fantastic happy hour and breakfast!
Review 69:The only drawback is its price. Far way too expensive.
Review 70:Great location (in the heart of Aspen), excellent facilities and staff. Awesome breakfast. If you have the money, it's really worthy.
Review 71:The fireplace was more problematic than romantic as it spewed out smoke than romance
Review 72:Friendly staff, comfortable bed, breakfast and dinner, walking distance to venues
Review 73:The staff and facilities of the Molly Gibson are fantastic. Adding to that the meals offered for breakfast and in the afternoon are perfect. Especially after being out on the mountains all day. The staff went out of their way to help us, especially as our bags got lost in transit. They happily drove us to the airport to locate them. Molly Gibson is a great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to rebook this great place.
Review 74:I have no complains.
Review 75:The hotel is amazing! The localization is excellent, the staff is very helpful. Good breakfast, good wifi, amazing drinks and snacks in the beginning of the night, comfortable beds, free airport shuttle. I definitely recommend this hotel!
Review 76:Deluxe room of 500$ was a ground floor next to the alley. No view from the small window. Every morning big trucks making deliveries at 5-6 am. The hotel faces noisy Main srteet. Incompetent front desk foreign agents. No cleaning during our stay. Cold air entering thru the AC made us sick. Hotel Aspen across the street has the same management.
Review 77:Not far from the centre. Breakfast with lot of choice but poor quality. Only automatic machines even for pancakes.
Review 78:The room was way too hot - think the heating was faulty. We had to have a window open (in November!)
Review 79:Excellent complimentary buffet breakfast. Spending a few dollars more for the king bed room was worthwhile - room was much bigger and had a real fireplace.
Review 80:Beds may be more comfortable.
Review 81:Good location, friendly and very helpful personal. Breakfast and complementary snacks with beverages were very good idea before and after skiing. I felt myself really comfortable in the hotel.
Review 82:- hard to say anything I didn't like ... we couldn't adjust room temperature initially, however as soon as we advised front desk was handled while we skied. - if using fireplace note you need to leave the window open and early morning snowplows can be heard - but hey, you are in Aspen!
Review 83:-friendly, helpful staff -full breakfast included - après ski food and drink included (wow - didn't expect that!) -airport transport included -conveniently located for free ski shuttles and a few blocks to downtown core.
Review 84:great stay in November. Friendly staff. Nice rooms with a good continental breakfast. We had our labrador with us and the staff treated our dog as if he belonged here. Not always the case when you travel with a pet. Awesome location. We will definitely return this summer
Review 85:Advertised as a suite, we were crowded with a party of three (two adult, one tween), really a regular hotel room with a pull out couch and a hot tub packed in tightly.
Review 86:Location, just across a nice little park from downtown Aspen.
Review 87:The bathroom was very dated looking and calling the mattress "firm" would be an understatement. Also, the pillows deflated as soon as you put your head on them.
Review 88:Breakfast was very nice, lots of choices. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. The multiple hot tub options were nice so you don't get stuck in a tub with strangers most of the time. Fireplace in the deluxe room was the highlight of our trip.
Review 89:Double queen size bed room does not provide any space for social contacts order sitting together. Breakfast room is in a mass and offered Breakfast utilities Live fork, knife, plates etc. had been sticky and not well kleened. One to night Sirene was extremely disturbed by supply trucks offloading their supplies in the milde of the night and just below room window with running engine.
Review 90:Unfortunately the room did not at all reach my expectations. I booked the Deluxe room because it looked amazing and had certain amenities that I thought would be worth the extra money - unfortunately that was not the case. The room was a sweltering 80+ degrees and the AC was broken and couldn't be fixed according to the front desk. Ok.. So I tried opening the windows but the screens left a large gap between being fully closed and reaching the window pane. As the room was street level I didn't feel comfortable leaving it open and unlocked. Additionally the in-room Upon leaving the hotel I was promised a full refund however two emails later, I still have not received a response from the Lodge. I'm extremely disappointed. Perhaps the regular rooms are nice but the Deluxe room was certainly not worth the price and the care to room was clearly neglected.
Review 91:Excellent location! Walking distance to all Aspen shops and restaurants.
Review 92:The rooms were a little small, but adequate. The place is a little worn, but not really an issue since the place is really cozy.
Review 93:Liked the location, the free breakfast, the friendly, helpful staff, the very nice pool and hot tub set up, the clean, comfortable rooms, and the cozy feeling of the place.
Review 94:Being in the underground room.
Review 95:Our room was in the basement It was large. It served our purpose. Breakfast was typical and ok. For aspen was fairly priced.
Review 96:The stairs to the second floor were challenging. I will make sure I ask for a first floor room. I would have liked a curtain for more privacy before the sink and vanity area
Review 97:The location The staff was gracious, informative, friendly. The breakfast and the robes Overall pleasant experience. Thanks
Review 98:the room was on the ground floor with a single window facing the alley, so could not get any sunlight as it would mean getting all by-passers' eyelight as well
Review 99:Not told by hotel how close we would be to all the noise of the USA Pro-Challenge bike race which started less than a block from hotel.
Review 100:Good facilities and amenities. Especially, enjoyed pool and hot tub. Plentiful breakfast included. Only 10 mile drive to Maroon Bells beauty and hikes.
Review 101:Unfortunately, Main Street is somewhat noisy. Air conditioning was old and noisy. Shower did not work. Lighting was poor.
Review 102:Location is good--on Main Street
Review 103:On street parking
Review 104:In room fireplace
Review 105:Apres ski and breakfast were fantastic! Great staff, comfortable bed and cozy room. Loved it!
Review 106:Room was a bit dated.
Review 107:Great location, very friendly and clean. Excellent value.
Review 108:Great! I stayed 2 nights. Staff friendly, Apres Ski food and drinks were perfect. Well done the Aussie girl looking after everyone!
Review 109:Locatiionn
Review 110:I loved everything the location the pricing the employees where super nice it was great
Review 111:The facility and its equipment and furnitire needed urgent updating
Review 112:Location was convinient relative to the Aspen Town center
Review 113:Great location!
Review 114:Great location, attentive staff, excellent breakfast, and the hot tubs were perfect! We would stay here again in a minute!
Review 115:Tiny bathroom. Room temperature too hot; not adjustable
Review 116:Staff was very helpful in giving us a schedule of events happening during our stay.
Review 117:No onsite parking, had to park far away on a dark street.
Review 118:Very cute hotel, nice pool area and jacuzzi in room. Good location
Review 119:Nothing
Review 120:Location
Review 121:A gem in Aspen. Walking distance to downtown. Would highly recommend.
Review 122:Breakfast leaves MUCH to be desired. Microwaved food and no eggs at all
Review 123:Beautiful room, very clean and comfy.
Review 124:The breakfast was disappointing
Review 125:Great location and staff
Review 126:had to wait for our room after check-in. Old building but well kept
Review 127:quaint, clean and centrally located
Review 128:Very small rooms that are dated with squeaky floors.
Review 129:Rooms was clean.
Review 130:Noisy. Pool rules not enforced. Very marginal breakfast.
Review 131:Close to town
