Review 1：Dirty Bathroom, dirt in bathroom corners, mold on walls, sheets and pillowcases were not clean, smelled like sweat, no hot drink cups for coffee in room, light fixture over vanity sink broken, refrigerator made loud buzzing noise, had to unplug it, overall a dirty uncomfortable night.

Review 3：Our air conditioner did not cool the room at all. It was very uncomfortable. I did not inform them that evening due to it being late when we got to our room. Also when I was checking in I heard it was full so I knew there was no chance of moving to a different room. However I did inform the staff the following morning and was told at that time that they could have replaced it had they knew.

ROOM WE WERE GIVEN DID NOT ALLOW US TO SEE MOTORCYCLE FROM ROOM. PARKING SEEMED TO BE A PROBLEM, NOT EASY TO GET CYCLE UNOADED, AS WE HAD REQUESTED WHEN WE MADE RESERVATION.

Review 9：When I arrived, the pool was green. It wasn't clear until 3 days later. There was trash on the grounds and the pool area.

Review 11：My room was to have a lake view. Only a sliver of the lake could be seen. The condos in front of us blocked the view. Mold on the ceiling was flaking into the toilet. Mold everywhere in the bathroom.

Never received the refund and came in the next morning when we were not there got the fan and did not clean. Not happy they were on our room and didn't clean. Not to mention the pool looked like it was filled with pee. We have stayed in this hotel for 4 years and this year waS the last! It has never been this bad!

Review 19：The room smelled of smoke. And there was a burn spot on the sheets. Dirt in the corners, and a big long black hair on the shower wall. I have blond hair. The coffee maker was broke spilled spewed coffee all in the container it was sitting in.

Review 22：Long hairs all over the bathroom in the tub and around the toilet. Man hairs all over the sink like someone had shaved previously. Spare pillows had filthy pillow cases on them with dirt and hairs.
Review 23：We were discouraged at first. We found the hotel at booking.com, called the 800 number and was told there were no rooms available even though the site showed rooms available. But we booked anyway. The room could use some updates and minor repairs. Holes in the walls and carpet....but not bad for the price.

Review 87：The room we had was suppose to be non-smoking but, you could smell it must have been a smoking room at 1 time. It smelled like old stale cig. smoke. The bottom of the bath tub was slippery when wet. Toleit set was broke-wobbly. Bathroom needed a good paint job. Not much of a breakfast offered.

Review 89：The age of the motel probably was the cause of the room above me sounding like a herd of cattle every time someone walked across the floor. They evidentially were also having sex as that sound was pretty evident also as the room wasn't very sound proof. Oh what it would be like to be young again!
Review 90：I know the motel is old but it has been kept up fairly well. I like the fact the room was clean but there were some knats in the bath tub but they didn't take up much room.

Review 97：Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, the second night the heater went out of oneroom. No staff in the hotel to help, had to go get another room in adifferent hotel. Hot water was warm at best, staff was difficult to findwhen there was a problem.

Breakfast included bread to toast but nothing to put on it.Tea bags for hot tea but no water for your cup. Had to use bathroomfaucet. Not well prepared.

Officewas closed most of the time with a note stating to call the hotel nextdoor. Had a lightbulb out, when telling lady at front desk, she said Ihad to write it out and sign my name, like I was the one putting thework order in! And, it never got replaced. Next time, I'll stay nextdoor, they seem to have everything!

Review 115：The lighting over the bath sink was dim. The room was set on AC when we first arrived and the room was almost colder than the outside temperature of that particular date (3/23/13). The set up for the suitcase stand, refrigerator, and the desk were very odd and awkward as well. I am not accustomed to a room where the door does not lock automatically when I exit was "old fashioned" and should be changed as soon as funds are available to a new key card system or something similar. Having a guide to TV channels would have been very helpful, especially for the weather. Signage would be helpful on where to find ice, vending machines, etc.
Review 116：The beds & pillows were very comfortable. Being able to set the AC/heating to a specific temperature was very nice as well. The room was very spacious and would have accommodated 4 adults very easily if our children had been invited to come with us. Everything was clean.

Itook the lid off the bowl thinking I might be able to repair it myself.The inside lever was so rusted I was afraid it would crack off in myhand. Even when repaired it would not double flush until a 15-20 min.Wait. The bed was terrible and I could not walk the next day. The airhad to be on to keep from freezing but it blew across the room makingsleeping tough. The restaurant next door had no fruit except melons.They forgot half of my wife's order(no scrambled eggs with herFrench toast) and brought out bacon was not acceptable when we orderedit extra crispy. We both ordered juice but no water was brought out eventhough we were waiting over an hour and the juice was gone. They werenot busy as there were only a few tables needing service. We were behinda party of ten, however, and there must have been only one cook so ourstay in the restaurant was 80-90 min. I'm sure the party would nothave minded if they had taken our order first. In fact, the last two oftheir party were coming in right after us and pushed by us for the restof their party was already seated. We would have left but the breakfastwas complimentary and we kept thinking it would come out. It was theworst experience we've ever had, but the view was good even forwinter. We would recommend Osage Beach but not The Hawk's Nest oradjoining hotel restaurant. Restaurants sometimes operate better whenthey are busy for they all have to hustle. These "guys" onlyhad one speed and exercised poor judgement.
Review 118：The manager did her best to have the bathroom toilet repaired andarranged a room for us at the adjoining motel for the second evening.She even gave us a breakfast coupon worth $19.00.
Review 119：When we got to the Lodge, we checked in and were directed to our room. When we opened the door, we were met with a wall of heat (we stayed in mid-January). The window unit had apparently been turned on when the room had been cleaned hours earlier, and because it was an old, non-digital wall unit, it doesn't shut off once it reaches a specific temperature. I would guess that the room was roughly 85 degrees. We had to prop our room door open to air it out, which made us feel uncomfortable. The room lamp is connected to the light switch, but must be turned on at the lamp base in order for the switch to work- when we got there, the lamp switch was off so we had to fumble in the dark to figure out how to get a light to come on. After putting away our things, we noticed that there was no iron or ironing board in the room, so we called housekeeping; they originally brought an iron, but no ironing board, so we had to wait while they went and got the board. Common sense says we would need both. The toilet was also not working properly; about every other flush, we had to take the lid off of the tank and lift the chain for the toilet to flush, and then it wouldn't suction properly and would continue running until we fixed it again. The sink counter was bowed considerably, and the television did not work properly. The two TV guide pamphlets were also not correct. There was a large candy wrapper under the bed that shifted into visibility during our first evening. We typically ran out of hot water during morning showers. I wish there would have been a clock of some sort in the room. We were in town for a conference, and saw the room of another couple there for the conference- they had a clock and microwave, both that we did not, however they did not have any hangers and we did. I'm concerned because we paid the same rate for our supposedly identical rooms.
Review 120：We chose The Hawk's Nest Lodge because it was very budget friendly and had good online reviews. Housekeeping straightened our bed each day while we were gone and supplied fresh towels.
Review 121：After the 1st nite the staff were not present when needed. No heat thefirst night. Did not know this until midnite. Moved to second room whichwas ok but get in late evening and nothing but snow on the tv even ifdid get a picture. The Inn next door Hot tub, which would have used, wasclosed for repair. Not what we are used to in a place advertised asresort. Need a discount of some sort
