Reviews for Hotel Restaurant La Furca
Review 1:Clean room and helpful staff, good location , good breakfast and parking. Nice room with balcony overlooking train station with excellent mountainous views. Quiet location with eateries, food stores and shopping amenities in the vicinity.
Review 2:Our hostess is friendly and very helpful, the rooms are comfortable if minimal. The balconies overlook Disentis' train station (the famous Glacier Express passes through) but there is very little noise. Breakfast is more than adequate, though there are no hot dishes. The restaurant offers excellent evening meals as well.
Review 3:Nothing the place was great and we would stay again.
Review 4:The owners made us very welcome and made some space at the rear for our little kit cars. We ate in the hotel and the food was great. English speaking staff made ordering easy and we had some fun with them.
Review 5:No elevator, so it was a bit of a hike to our 3rd floor room.
Review 6:The beds are really comfortable, views of the mountains (and the train station) are nice, and our hostess was warm and friendly.
Review 7:Hotel has no lift, which was a pain with the gear we had to lug up four flights of stairs. Hotel is right opposite the railway station in Disentis, which was ovpccasionally noisy.
Review 8:Great welcome. We (couple) were allocated a huge top floor room. Excellent and imaginative menu in the restaurant, and a brilliant breakfast.
Review 9:La Furca is a few steps from the Disentis train station. It was perfect for a one-night stay so that we could visit the abbey and hike around the area. Clean and very good value. The lovely view was an extra.
Review 10:Our stay here was very pleasant. The hotel and the room were very clean, bright and cozy. The receptionist as well as all other staff were very kind, positive, helpful, patient and informative. The dinner in the restaurant tasted good – it wasn't as yummy as it was pricey but the local beer was great and definitely worth the price. The morning there was amazing in particular – a lovely view of the Alpes in the sunshine... A good choice to take a break before riding towards and all over the Alpes...
Review 11:Couldn't pay with credit card and no internet access, but this was not solely a problem for the hotel - another restaurant also unable to accept cards that evening and their own internet was down which must has been awkward for them.
Review 12:Easy to find. No noise from trains o/night despite overlooking the station. Helpful staff. Owner very patient - we forgot to leave the key when we checked out but they simply asked that we post it to them. It arrived safely the day after!
Review 13:Bathroom could use updating
Review 14:Excellent chef, good location, very friendly
Review 15:Great place, excellent staff!
Review 16:Stairs to top floor (I asked for a room with a view).
Review 17:Location
Review 18:Building site next door, but that will disappear.
Review 19:Very friendly family run guest house. Excellent dinner.
Review 20:I was looked after - a solo vegetarian English cyclist presented no problems!
Review 21:great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms - lovely place to stay
Review 22:I didnt like the washroom setup in the room.
Review 23:Great location and very friendly staff.
Review 24:No Air conditioning so all noises of the cow bells in the field were prevalent.
Review 25:breakfast, friendly staff, nice location clean rooms
Review 26:Very friendly staff, welcoming and generous. Perfectly located near the train station. Though, if you're not looking for luxury, this place is a good deal.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:Good central location and close to the railway station. Plenty going on in the café/bar and terrace which forms part of the hotel. Everyone friendly and helpful. Accommodated dietary requirements. Good value.
Review 29:Service during dinner was a bit slow and not very attentive.
Review 30:Clean rooms with nice balcony (facing the train station - but quiet at night). Friendly owner family, good breakfast & food, familiar atmosphere.
Review 31:We stayed at La Furca for one night during a European road trip. It is more of a restaurant with rooms. A modern building, with functional, clean rooms. The restaurant is both inside and outside (this was summer). The food was excellent and the service first class. English is spoken, which helps. La Furca is not 5* luxury but it is good value (by Swiss standards).
Review 32:Restaurant closed on Mondays so not the best day to be there, especiallywhen it is raining.Dirty drinking glass in bathroom, but as reception closed just after our arrival, we could not get another one.
Review 33:Nice views from room/ balcony. Good breakfast. .
Review 34:I ate one dinner: the starters of soup and capons were fresh, flavourfull and good. The main course - roasted chicken and veggie -would have tasted good, if fresh...But, they were clearly microwaved! Plus I heard the microwave bell ring just before my main course was served - and I was the only person in there, (it was 10pm). For the cost of c.25 francs this is disgraceful! I asked for this to be taken off the bill, but the owners said it wasn't m-waved and so wouldn't remove it. This is a serious error.
Review 35:La Furca is a husband & wife-run, comfy, basic, but not spartan, very homely hotel. It is a good 3* hotel. It is only 1 minute walk from Disentis train station - literally across the road. It is right next to the post office and in the centre of the village - only a few minutes walk from the monastery, church, other hotels and few bars, ATMs and mini-mart - which is around just one corner. The bedroom was a good double bedroom, with lots of space around the bed and a table, chair, wardrobe, coat-stand and lots more floor space. It's bigger and better than dbl bedrooms in most modern houses! Every bedroom also has a decent balcony overlooking the valley, meadows and mountains far on the other side - a perfect, beautiful setting. Bathroom was small and brown, dreary, 1970s tiles - typical in German-speaking hotels and homes, oddly. But, it was big enough and clean. Staff are very friendly: husband and wife owners, who also cook dinner. The waitress was very friendly and fun, and so too the breakfast waiter. It has a simple, colourful, homely restaurant and bar, with a nice terrace for breakfast overlooking the train station and valley. Restaurant and bar are nice, relaxed, homely places. Locals seem to go for dinner often and a group of old mates played cards and chatted in the bar area in the evenings, (as the village doesn't seem to have a pub!) These old geezers were friendly and chatted to me, too. I would very much recommend this hotel, if you want a good, comfy, 3* hotel that is good VFM by Swiss costly prices.
