Reviews for Telhadense
Review 1:I previously stayed in a single room which was small and rather dark, but still very clean and excellent value for money. On my second visit I found it well worthwhile booking a double room.
Review 2:Sunny room with a balcony overlooking a quiet street. The proprietors do not speak English, but other members of staff do: someone came to my room immediately after I checked in to ask if everything was O.K. Room old-fashioned but immaculately clean. Air conditioning worked well.
Review 3:no hot water at all tried to over charge on arrival so i cancelled last day at that moment but still tried by saying i didnt arrive at all !
Review 4:warm clean
Review 5:Room I was given had no windows, not too pleasant, but OK for short stay.
Review 6:Low cost, safe and secure. Good location, staff friendly.
Review 7:Balcony door didnt close
Review 8:Staff.
Review 9:central Location
Review 10:The staff speaks no English at all Room is dated Room is small
Review 11:The price is very good The room has all you need.
Review 12:These are not particularly what I did not like more to help you make an informed decision. The facilities are old but the room was clean and functional. The water was just above body temperature so in the warmer months it was OK for showering but in Winter it would not be good. The parking is on the road and not always available on the same road as the hotel. There is often the smell of smoke hanging in the air. I could not easily find Rua das Damas so I have added it to openstreetmap as my satnav uses these maps. I had a room with a frosted window opening onto the corridor, the cheapest one available, 15E per night in 2014. Some evenings were noisy but not enough to keep me awake.
Review 13:Room temperature was good. Matteress was supportive and not saggy. Staff were helpful. Centrally located so easy to walk everywhere. It had a relaxed family atmosphere.
Review 14:It was really cold there. All the room smelled like cigaretes. The conditionier was working really loud and it was bothering us all night. The staff didn't speak any English.
Review 15:The internet conection was really good.
Review 16:The shower was nothing but a dribble and the water, at best was tepid. None of the plugs fitted either the bath or sink so it was impossible to fill either. It advertises having a family atmosphere and bar, but we felt as if we were encroaching on the owner`s living space if we based for anything. We tried getting a beer from the bar at 9.30pm to be told `nao` by the owner as he ate his evening meal, despite bottles, beers and spirits adorning the bar/living room area and the next night they seemed to be enjoying a drink with other travellers. The Wi-Fi didn't work in the rooms, and neither did the blind. The furniture was dated and we couldn't open the wardrobe properly as it was so close to the bed. There was a spare pillow in a cupboard, but it had long black hairs on it. The owners didn't speak a word of English, but that, I suppose is ignorance on my part.
Review 17:The hotel was cheap, central with a comfy bed. An old lady there went out of her way to fix the blind and make sure we had fresh towels. She dangled precariously over balconies to hang out washing whilst standing on a rickety chair. A very cheap place to stay.
Review 18:I could not access the wi-fi in my room (it is available in the lobby.) I just found a roach crawling across the floor...
Review 19:We had stayed for one night in Castelo Branco and were on our way to Monsanto. We ended up arriving around 3am and left the next morning. We had a room with balcony looking street. The room is not so clean and comfortable, but it's enough just to sleep. So do not expect too much but a place for you to sleep! I'd like to recommend this hotel to budget travelers.
Review 20:Service was basic but fine, no meal, no breakfast, no coffee makingfacilities but its €15 and a bargain
Review 21:The priceOwn bathroom, lots of towels, soap Good bed Location
Review 22:Took copy of my passport without asking. Eventually agreed to return itnext day but then said it had been destroyed. This turned out to be alie. It was in their folder all along, and after a huge fuss theyreturned it to me. They maintained that it was required by thegovernment, but this is not true, they only need to supply name andpassport number. They have a huge folder full of copies of passportslying on a shelf, and are oblivious to the fact that this is a securityrisk. Their grandson, who translated, completely understood my concern, but the proprietors clearly did not. I found the blatant lyingparticularly unacceptable.
