Reviews for Canal Park Lodge
Review 1:Lobby was a little busy and loud in the morning but understanding with all the hockey families.
Review 2:Location is great, near restaurants and entertainment. Room was very clean and comfortable.
Review 3:there were multiple "hockey families" with young children making lots of noise running up and down the halls all afternoon and night. Plastic coffee cups are gross.
Review 4:Lovely views and breakfast is great.
Review 5:There was a humming noise that kept us awake most of the night . Wasn't coming from fridge like we thought. Maybe the exercise room? Didn't say anything at checkout didn't have time
Review 6:Not worth it for the price in any way whatsoever. More cabin feel than spa-like.
Review 7:well situated in town - near the shopping and restaurants. Great view of the lake. Decent breakfast and coffee.
Review 8:Not one thing negative to say.
Review 9:The accommodations were superior (no pun intended)! Classy, but not 'snobby'. Cozy with an Alpine ski lodge atmosphere. Staff are very profressional, friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Loved the late breakfast. Most places wrap it up by 9A... appreciated the more relaxed 10:30A.' Would book here again in a heartbeat!
Review 10:Pillows were big and bed was a little hard. Little high priced. Need to keep hot coffee all day.
Review 11:The free breakfast ! The location was great, close to the water. Christmas trees were decorated nicely. Very festive. Relaxing atmosphere. Nice fireplace.
Review 12:My kids and I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff was friendly and it was decorated really nice for Christmas and the breakfast was really good. I will be coming back this summer for sure. Thanks
Review 13:Availability of space in your comfortable lobby area to visit with a couple of friends who travelled from Minneapolis to meet with us in Duluth. We drove down from Thunder Bay. We lingered in front of your fireplace to chat and in the front lobby to watch the huge, magnificent waves crashing against the shore in front of the lodge.
Review 14:I pulled out the night stand to plug my charger in, and it was filthy back there.
Review 15:View of the lake! Bathtub! Bed! flat screen TV, Microwave and Refrigerater.
Review 16:our room, 333, had a smell of bad body odor as soon as we walked in! :/
Review 17:great location, great b'fast, lovely hotel, warm pool. NIce to have a fridge and microwave!!
Review 18:It was quite expensive for a midweek short stay although the staff did upgrade me to a lake side patio room which was awesome and much appreciated. I had just had a minor back procedure and wanted to get out of the heat and humidity from home.
Review 19:Everything. It was beautiful
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Being within walking distance to so many things Being on the balcony to see the lake Watching horse and carriages go by It was just nice. We never go and stay away from home and this was great
Review 22:We arrived in Duluth early the day of our reservation so we tried to check in early. There were no rooms available at that time so we couldn't which is understandable. So we left and arrived back at 3pm which was check in time and the room was not ready. The staff just told us that the room was not ready yet and to go into town for awhile. No estimate of when the room would be ready. We sat in the lobby and 40 minutes later we went up to the counter to see about our room. I think it was a manager that then helped us.
Review 23:Our room was not ready at check in and we had to wait 40 minutes. Although we had to wait it was worth it. They upgraded us from our standard lake view room to a lakeview suite with balcony.
Review 24:the free breakfast was a disaster there was not much available at the time we decided to eat and it was a mess, food all over the counter used napkins on the counter.
Review 25:Really friendly staff, comfortable beds, perfect location, central to many restaurants, bars, and shops and right on Lake Superior. Spacious room with comfortable beds. What's not to like?
Review 26:When I went to check in, they did not have my name or reservation from Booking.com so fortunately they had room. After I found the reservation number, I gave it to the desk and they said they couldn't get to the numbers at that time. The room had a slight odor like the couch needed to be cleaned.
Review 27:We would have enjoyed hanging out because the view and area was fantastic, but our purpose was to go to a recital at UMD and had no time to enjoy.
Review 28:It wasn't the cheapest place to stay in the area, but it was worth the few extra dollars.
Review 29:The location is great and the free breakfast is a good start to your day. It is located near many restaurants and activities. I would stay there again.
