Reviews for Lakeshore Inn & Suites

Review 1:The stuff are very kind and helpful! They are like your friend, really care about you and hope you have a good trip. The hotel is near to bus stops which allows guests to go to a lot of points and interest. Everything is perfect here, and I had a really good time in Anchorage!

Review 2:I don't have any complaints.

Review 3:The free shuttle is always on time and the service is quick and friendly. The rooms are always clean, the beds are soft and comfortable, and they have a great breakfast and coffee! I have never been disappointed with this hotel.

Review 4:We had a ground floor room and it was very noisy because of the room above us. Our sheets were stained and it made us wonder how clean they were. Would of requested a change if it wasn't after midnight and we weren't so exhausted from air travel.

Review 5:Close to the airport, shuttle service and free parking.

Review 6:The fact that there was no refrigerator in my room and I stayed 3 nights and would have really liked to have one

Review 7:Beds are comfortable and room and facilites clean.

Review 8:I did not and will not feel secure till all rooms have a Deadbolts on all inside doors. I noticed all doors on Northern side have Deadbolts.

Review 9:The staff at the Lakeshore Inn are very accommodating to all your needs if they can. Love the newspaper every morning. The only concern of mine was No Deadbolt on inside door. Hopefully they fix that. I need to feel secure when I sleep.

Review 10:All the help/info for local info the great rides from the airport/where to catch the bus to down town places to eat all it was a great experience being at the lakeshore Inn I'll be back thanks

Review 11:This was a wonderful place to stay! The staff was excellent, and went out of their way to make sure everything was great. We will stay here again when we visit.

Review 12:The staff were super friendly. The room was amazing for the price -- it was actually a suite with a bedroom, small sitting/living room, and a complete well-supplied kitchen. It was perfectly clean.

Review 13:The staff and the motel were excellent!! They were very helpful with everything we needed. We were picked up at the airport the night we arrived. When we needed to pick up our rental car the next day. They took us over and dropped us off at the car rental counter. The staff was willing to help in any way they could.

Review 14:Rooms are very, very small. No air-conditioning (it was hot that day). windows are only equipped with blinds, no curtains for extra privacy which is important when the room faces outdoors.

Review 15:Staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful. Room was clean. Located near the airport so the shuttle gets you to the airport very quickly.

Review 16:we were greeted warmly and we felt very comfortable in the surroundings. It was within walking distance of restaurants. It was a quite location even though it was close to the airport.

Review 17:- Far from the centre - small bathroom. The sink is in the bedroom. Not so good when you share the room with a colleague... - Expensive for what this is, but it is the case of most hotel in Anchorage

Review 18:- No real breakfast provided but enough to have breakfast on site (tea/coffee, cereal, fruits, yoghurts) - Friendly staff - clean, in general rather comfortable

Review 19:Parking was not the best. But they don't have a lot of room so at least they have some parking.

Review 20:It was quiet & comfortable. They even upgraded us to a different style room on the ground level.

Review 21:The warmth, friendliness and the assistance provided particularly by Deanne at reception and also by shuttle drivers. Pleasant area to walk around lake close by.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Good location for those wanting to be close to the airport. its very close and has a free shuttle service. Large room. Clean, comfy, breakfast included, polite staff. No complains

Review 24:Desk clerk was wonderful. She offered to check us in for the next days flight. She juggled to change our room to the first floor so we didn't ned to drag our dreadfully heavy bags up the stairs. She offered to schedule our wakeup call and our next morning van transfer to the airport. Most places do this but we need to ask first. Van to airport was prompt, clean and friendly.

Review 25:Honestly, this is the reality of Anchorage, where you pay premiums for absolutely awful motels. It's pretty sad, yet it seems to be unavoidable during any trip to Alaska.

Review 26:It was clean.

Review 27:Having to haul 4 suitcases up and down outside stairs, not easy for an elderly couple. Breakfast had very limited items. Outdated television.

Review 28:This an older hotel. Rooms were clean but in need of updating. Old light fixtures. Old television. Beds were comfortable.

Review 29:lack of restaurants nearby, but that was ok, we had a pizza.

Review 30:very convenient to the airport and good price. Airport shuttle was a bonus as was the nice walk along the seaplane moorage area

Review 31:Pretty far outside of town, 20 minutes by bus to downtown Anchorage. $180 is kind of expensive. Pretty limited breakfast (but nice that it was included)

Review 32:Free shuttle to airport, cleanliness, helpful staff.

Review 33:Spacious suite. Well appointed for comfort and very helpful staff..took me to pick up pizza so we would not have to wait for delivery when we arrived late in the evening.

Review 34:The rooms need air conditioning. Only a windiw fab was orivided. We were hot. Climate change mandates making an upgrade here. Fans no longer do the job under allcondotions.

Review 35:Staff was fruendly

Review 36:Staff was very helpful and friendly. Clean modern room. Close to the airport as well as the gas station, convenience store, a subway, and pizza place. .great pizza at Today's pizza. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Review 37:Room was hot and I was locked in once due to a worn out foot lock. There were no safety handrails in the tub/shower.Wifi was very slow and occasional.

Review 38:We had a nice comfortable room with a great comfy bed. Loved the breakfast.

Review 39:Breakfast was very limited - even more so than other 'economic' hotels we have used in the States. Could have done with some more choices and fresh pastries.

Review 40:Great bed - very comfortable. Room had everything we needed. Staff very helpful.

Review 41:The only complaint is that although we had a non-smoking room, other smokers were on the same level in nearby rooms as well as in the outdoor hallway. With our windows open, smoke from outside travelled into the room.

Review 42:Spacious and comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 43:Be sure to ask for a room without stairs if that is needed.

Review 44:Shuttle service from and to the airport was friendly, convenient, and prompt. The staff was helpful in locating restaurants and places of interest.

Review 45:The bed was superb best ever. Location great for plane enthusiasts but a bit noisy due to airport operating 24/7. Pick up driver a bit morose - not the bearded one he was good. Imparted lots of info. Good place to stay - we enjoyed ourselves. No lifts available but only one level of stairs.

Review 46:That I didn't find it right off, had to stay in a dump first night.

Review 47:Very friendly staff willing to help at all times. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Review 48:We stayed on the second floor. There is no elevator so we have to carry our big bag all by ourself.

Review 49:It is very close to the airport, about 5 minutes drive. The airport shuttle is every 30 minutes. Breakfast is simple with some juice, yogurt, coffe and muffins. quiet and comfortable. Room is spacious. Staff are nice and friendly.

Review 50:had hoped for a bit more for breakfast options, maybe bagels and fruit :-) but we did just fine with what was available

Review 51:room was extremely clean and well kept, additional items we needed were provided with a smile. office staff very friendly

Review 52:Should have only stayed one night for the location to the airport. It was expensive for the type of room and neighborhood. No a/c and Anchorage can be hot in July! So called "updated decor" was probably done late eighties style.

Review 53:Great location if you need to be central Anchorage and close to the airport.

Review 54:The first evening, after our (late) arrival from Anchorage airport, we have waited outside some minutes for the receptionnist. Then, we got finally our key but the welcoming was freezing cold and almost unfriendly. What a pity as we had already some fly-hours behind us and were tired. The room was huge but very noisy. Thanks to God, the morning after, the receptionnist was more friendly and welcoming. But our first impression was very negative....

Review 55:Very good breakfast

Review 56:Alaska prices are hard to get used too. Everything is so expensive.

Review 57:The management was very courteous and kind. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and everything was neat.

Review 58:There is another hotel with a shuttle with a similar name like Lakefront. We got on the wrong shuttle! Lakeshore Inn came to rescue us. Hotels are too expensive in Alaska for sure.

Review 59:Shuttle from airport was very prompt.

Review 60:Only problem for us (and not a big one) was that Anchorage was experiencing unusually hot weather, and the motel room was pretty hot the first night. There is no air conditioning (understandably!), but we wished for a window fan! Fortunately the second night was not as hot.

Review 61:The breakfast was a nice surprise; simple but satisfying and some healthy choices (fruit, yogurt, etc.). We loved the proximity to the floatplane base and we enjoyed watching takeoffs and landings.

Review 62:Even though we stayed only one night, we appreciated having a kitchen in the room. Everything appeared to have been refurbished lately. I think it would be a nice economical location for tourists to stay.

Review 63:WiFi connection is very weak.

Review 64:Loved the area which is within a short walking distance of a lake. Good nearby restaurants. Loved watching the airplanes land and take off on the water. Great shuttle to and from airport. Nearby bus service to downtown.

Review 65:Our experience was fine; however, the bathroom was very small and confined. My husband and I are tall people and felt very cramped. Perhaps the tub could be switched out for a shower stall which would allow for more standing room. Also, as we are from a large urban area security is always an issue for us.There was no mechanism on the window to allow us to keep it partially open at night as well as ensure it couldn't be opened by an intruder. It was necessary to keep the window open as there is no air conditioning in the building.

Review 66:The staff were most helpful and actually moved us to a ground level room at time of check-in. I felt they exceeded their requirements in ensuring we were comfortable in our room.

Review 67:Want to sit in a hot tub, watch the sun set over the mountains while looking for moose and other animals to appear? Look no further! Clean and very well maintained. Great breakfast. Recommended!

Review 68:No bad experience. We were in Anchorage AK and air conditioners in the rooms are not common as one would expect. Anchorage was in an unusually warm spell (high 60's/low 70s) and the room was a little stuffy. We opened the window and there was a fan so we were okay.

Review 69:The lady who checked us in was exceptionally helpful and nice. She offered the freezer for keeping our fish and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I made several trips to the front desk for things and she was extremely accommodating and friendly.

Review 70:It was pricey like most hotels in Anchorage. You could get a luxurious hotel for the same price in the lower 48.

Review 71:It was a solid base camp for our few day Anchorage/kenai peninsula excursion.

Review 72:The room very loud in direct premises of a very busy small airport which constantly start and lands small planes. An awful smell came from the kitchen and fridge. The break first is not worse mentioning...

Review 73:the staff was friendly

Review 74:No elevator. Only 2 floors but we had to lug some heavy bags up the stairs.

Review 75:We got the 2 bedroom suite for our group of 5. Very spacious accommodations. Nice balcony outside our room. Lots of eating places within walking distance.

Review 76:It was almost ALL clean except in the corners of the bathroom floor. But all other surfaces were clean!

Review 77:Comfortable beds with 3 pillows on a double bed. =] Neat and clean, looked nice, frig, roomy.

Review 78:The wifi service did not work you could connect but could not acess the net and do research of things you wanted to do, restraunts, shopping, check email etc. If you advertise wifi service it should work. The kitchen had no cookware, tableware, etc. So you couldn't prepare meals there. when they cleaned the rooms while you were out they left the windows open allowing possible access to the room by anyone.

Review 79:Plenty of room, extra beds. Convenient location.

Review 80:Close location to eating out, takeaway food outlets, bus stops, airport and walks around lakeside. Helpful and pleasant staff. Free airport shuttle.

Review 81:No real problems. In general, we are surprised by the cost:value ratio for hotels in Anchorage compared to other US cities we have stayed in.

Review 82:Liked having the refrigerator: suggest that they mention this on their website. Also liked the coin laundry: another thing to mention. Wifi speed was good too.

Review 83:Staff very considerate. Moved us to a new room before we asked because they thought the assigned room would smell too smoky , but the new room had some sticky spots on the nightstand. Aside from the unexpected stickiness, the place was comfortable and adequate and had a good amount of character. I did think it was expensive, but I guess that's normal for the area.

Review 84:We stayed twice and the second time we got there our room wasn't ready but another room was so the nice young lady let us switch rooms. The second room was a little bit bigger and a little bit nicer! We really appreciated her letting us switch so we didn't have too wait!

Review 85:For the price, the room and facility are at lower level than what you expect from motels/hotels in the 48 states. But I guess Alaska makes money in the summer only, so the price must be higher.

Review 86:It is very close to the airport, so when you arrive late after a long flight, that's a treat.

Review 87:Bed was a little too soft.

Review 88:Good location, easy access to public transit and neighbouring facilities such as restaurants. Quick access by shuttle to airport only.

Review 89:Bathroom was just OK. Tiny soap, Hitting the toilet paper holder while using potty, poorly designed worn out front walkway

Review 90:Free wifi, reasonable price, extremely friendly staff.

Review 91:Staff were very nice. I needed to take my toddler to use the bathroom when we got to the office...the lady at the desk got us checked in while I took him to a very clean bathroom. The property was well maintained and sheets were clean. 4 mins from the airport...can't beat that! No air conditioner but it wasn't that hot...there is a fan.

Review 92:The Wi-Fi was very slow and the breakfast was very basic.

Review 93:The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is awesome, lots of parking, close to downtown and airport with access to multiple restaurants. Overall, fantastic place to stay in Anchorage. Will heartily recommend.

Review 94:Very spacious apartment and excellent kitchen and facilities. Clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Quick walk to the town. Host very helpful and on hand to answer questions

Review 95:desk and chair to big for the room which made it difficult to get past to the bathroom without moving the chair each time

Review 96:close to McDonalds and the Village Restaurant. Was quiet and clean and was close to airport with shuttle

Review 97:I felt the price was very high for the type of room it was. The outside stairs were old and not clean and the building needs an upgrade.

Review 98:It was okay, nothing really special. Close to Village Inn which was nice restaurant. Close to airport and had shuttle.

Review 99:Rude, noisy cruise travelers that came in at 2:30 am and had to talk loudly in the parking lot and bank luggage in rooms. Rooms have no AC (don't need it) so you leave a window cracked at night so outside sounds are present. Never heard guests to sides but could hear banging and walking up-stairs but not TV or talking, pretty sound proof for non-concrete building. It was the other guests, not the room that was the issue. Occational sea-planes taking off in mornings over motel.

Review 100:clean, comfortable, great friendly and helpful staff, good variety at breakfast, close to transportation. We were there 4 days, only real complaint was the sea planes taking off but they didn't at night so it was fine. They had super helpful staff, took care of us very well!! Best lodging of our 3 week trip!

Review 101:Well just to say it was odd arriving into anchorage at midnight and to a hotel room heated to about 30 degrees centigrade.

Review 102:Quick phone call at midnight and the friendly staff come pick you up from the airport! What could be better.

Review 103:This cost us $200/night. Very expensive for a basic room. It did have a kitchenette, but we didn't need this, so not worth it. The area did not have much to warrant this price either.

Review 104:Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Review 105:NO AC. At summer time, those fans will not help you at all... Storage of luggage could have been improved. Felt like anyone can steal it.

Review 106:large suites. basically 1 bedroom apartments with full kitchens. Friendly people at desk, quick to pick up from airport.

Review 107:There was no thermostat in the room, and no refrigerator in the second room we stayed in. No consideration was given to lowering the price for this. Additionally, there was an empty whisky bottle (Black Velvet) in the dresser drawer, overlooked by the cleaning staff. For $166 and change per night, this is unacceptable.

Review 108:The location of Lakeshore Inn and Suites was very convenient, and it was nice to be able to get to a room very quickly after a long flight.

Review 109:Clean, comfortable, friendly , Close to airport. Free pick-up ( very late evening) from airport and stored luggage whilst we travelled around. Would use again and recommend.

Review 110:Mattress update needed. For two people the mattress sagged in the middle.

Review 111:Good location to airport but is a little noisy. Good breakfast and wonderful staff.

Review 112:no complaintss

Review 113:This was a good place to stay away from the city hubbub. We walked to dinner at Gwennies which was a fun time and good food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed their nice little outdoor sitting area.

Review 114:Price.

Review 115:They picked us up from the airport, and showed us Alaskan hospitality. Breakfast was gpod, the room was older, but shèets and all were very clean. Overpriced, but we're finding 'that's alaska'. Would recommend got sure.

Review 116:Having to leave

Review 117:My stays have always been pleasant..from the quiet location to the comfortable and roomy accommodations. Stay every time I go into Anchorage.

Review 118:It is rather a basic room, in a basic hotel near airport. The high price might be that the location? The carpet in the room is not so clean. the curtain is not useful for the bright night during summer time.

Review 119:We stayed there for the first night after arriving Anchorage after midnight. The staff at the reception is very helpful and kind, especially considering the time we arrived (after 1am). He did quick check-in for us and explain the best way to drive the car towards the building where our room is. Moreover, when we couldn't figure out how to turn on the water from the taps, after phoning him, he came personally to help and to show us how it works. The wifi is good in the room.

Review 120:Lacated within walking distance of the rental car company we used, and a short drive from the airport. They let us use a freezer for fish we caught and had a free shuttle to the airport. This was the perfect place to wrap up our Alaska visit.

Review 121:Would have enjoyed a small refrigerator.

Review 122:Very helpful staff. Room looked recently remodeled. We had no problem when we needed to stay an extra day at the last minute. Were in the back building. very quiet and private.

Review 123:poor breakfast -- no bread and butter, just danishes (bad for a diabetic), many kinds of cereals -- but no plain cornflakes

Review 124:comfortable large room, very friendly personnel, shuttle to airport, convenient bus to downtown, free WI-FI

Review 125:I had a problem with the hot water and the front desk told me he could do nothing. I changed room after a while, but I sure did not like the the attitude.

Review 126:The room is confortable.

Review 127:Internet was not working well had to go to the dining area to get a signal.

Review 128:Rooms were nice and staff friendly. Facility was clean and rustic appearance was nice.

Review 129:Kind of expensive, but Anchorage has high rates. The breakfast was dismal.

Review 130:Easy access to the airport. Even the airline stewardesses were staying there!
