Reviews for The Voyager Hotel

Review 1:nothing

Review 2:very near to downtown and very spacious room. staff gave me muffins and yogurts for the breakfast when i missed the breakfast time. thank u for him. it was delicious.

Review 3:Only one tiny niggle that the breakfast room is very small. Not always enough room to accommodate everyone eating.

Review 4:Really lovely hotel. Very nice rooms. Great staff. Right in the middle of downtown Anchorage.

Review 5:The people in the hotel don't help very much with information about the area.

Review 6:In dowtow, the hotel it's well located. The room is big and clean.

Review 7:There is a big problem with space at breakfast! There were about 20 of us but with chairs and tables for 10 only. People were eating breakfast standing up. I see others have mentioned this, too. Management does need to address the issue. This is why I have not given the hotel a higher score, as breakfast is an important meal and occasion!.

Review 8:This was a good hotel, conveniently situated.

Review 9:The only thing that would make my experience better would be a hand-delivered espresso each morning! :-)

Review 10:I enjoyed visiting this iconic Anchorage hotel - was pleasantly surprised at the clean and updated facility. (the bedding was SO nice!) The location is perfect and parking is right next door. Access to business, food, friends, and entertainment makes it easy for me to say that I'll surely stay here again!

Review 11:The lack of kitchen equipment. Couldn't understand why they bothered to instal it all without any equipment for cooking. Breakfast was a nonsense bun fight with insufficient room for the number of people.

Review 12:Location, general comfort,

Review 13:When I checked in and got to my room, it had obviously not been made since the previous stay. After informing reception, I was immediately given another room which was perfect.

Review 14:Although a basic looking hotel, once settled in, the room was quite nice with a comfortable bed, big sized TV, full bathroom facilities, and a small all inclusive kitchen with a coffee machine. On-street parking was easy enough to find and not pay much.

Review 15:I arrived with my wife and two kids and our room was given to another guest. I saw the paperwork with my name on it signed by another person. The person at the desk called the room I was supposed to be staying in and asked them if they reserved a deluxe room, they obvious said yes. When the person at the desk confirms that there was a mistake they did not move those people, they moved my family to a smaller room. This took about an hour. They desk person was clearly incompetent.

Review 16:Nothing adverse during my stay.

Review 17:The people at your location were very helpful and friendly. Centrally located, walk to downtown. Clean, great directions, helped with all requests promptly.

Review 18:There can be pressure for breakfast seating.

Review 19:Quiet, comfortable spacious room and good location. Access to excellent pool and gym facilities in sister property over the street and some good restaurants.

Review 20:Room was large and clean. The location was perfect. Within walking of all the areas we wanted to see and near good restaurants. Right next to the Captain Cook Hotel and down town.

Review 21:Nothing that I can think of.

Review 22:Great boutique hotel. Very friendly and responsive staff. This hotel is under the same management as the Captain Cook hotel, opposite the street. We stayed in a suite which was nicely decorated. Had all sorts of amenities that you would only expect in a 5 * hotel (bathrobes etc.). Excellent complimentary breakfast. Use of the swimming pool of the Captain Cook hotel. (We recommend the Fletcher's restaurant in the Captain Cook hotel for a good meal ) I would definitely stay here again.

Review 23:Even though it said it was non-smoking, we thought it smelled a little strange like past smoke that had been tried to be covered up. All in all an ok place for 1 night. a small couch would have been nice.

Review 24:Location was great. We just needed a place for 1 night so it was just fine.

Review 25:Three of us friends were sharing a room and we had a junior suite, it was excellent - big enough for 2 roll away beds plus the main bed and a great lounge room area for packing up all our stuff. Excellent

Review 26:The kitchenette is the most useless we have experienced: 2 each of knives/forks/spoons/plates/bowls&#- 47;mugs/glass tumblers - that's it! Can't cook in a microwave with just those. No extractor fan, no washing up liquid, nothing to dry pots with. Even the coffee maker was of the "one cup" variety. Poor value for money in a Junior Suite.

Review 27:Good location, and reasonable comfort.

Review 28:tv didn't work but got a reduction although they did try to fix it

Review 29:Fantastic hotel close to all of the town, very clean and nice. Good price too, having the kitchen was a bonus, the beds the so comfortable.

Review 30:Rooms not equipped with room-darkening drapes. Very difficult to sleep with 21 hours of sun.

Review 31:Comfortable room with good heat and AC. Within walking distance of all downtown.

Review 32:Room was a little expensive, but it is tourist season in Alaska with few rooms available. It turned out to be great choice.

Review 33:Clean with spacious small suite. The bed was similar to one found in five star facility. Breakfast limited budget, but everything was of good quality!!!

Review 34:There was some noise--a party of some sort in a nearby room. The desk attendant apologized for it the next morning. I did not complain that night.

Review 35:Great location. Room was large, much more than I needed for a single night.

Review 36:I can't write out much in the vein of negatives. One night was > $100, but is that surprising? Minor street moise, I guess, but I opened the doors at "balcony" to enjoy fresh air - downtown! No bellboy to carry my bag? Ouch.

Review 37:I liked the convenience and subtle efficiency. Room was lovely, shower very modern and enjoyable. Then breakfast was beyond what I'd expected - tasteful with broad diversity.

Review 38:Nothing. This hotel is not gorgeous, but considering the price, very good.

Review 39:The staff was very friendly and kind. They taught me good restaurant very precisely. The location of this hotel was very good.

Review 40:From the outside it doesn´t look like much, but the rooms are quite spacey, clean and comfortable. I would definitely go back if I had to be in Anchorage.

Review 41:Like in most hotels, the wifi was just okay, not great. Also, thought didn't spend much time looking, the breakfast seemed a little sparse. Caution there is very little free parking right by the hotel

Review 42:I was only here for the night but the bed was so comfortable and the decor was more modern than I expected! The front desk agent was very kind and welcoming. It's also super cool that you can use the fitness center at the Captain Cook across the street if you feel the need to work out

Review 43:no washer/dryer as before, no free parking as before, no shuttle, did lots of walking.

Review 44:bed, kitchenette, friendly staff. good breakfast. despite the what I didn't like, I enjoyed my stay. wish it had Alaska resident rates, I would continue to stay there. now I have to move back to clarion.

Review 45:staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially Yoseff, Bernard, Willard and Jonnie. We truly had a great Alaskan Holiday and one big reason is this simple and quiet hotel with excellent location in downtown. We'll definitely comeback!

Review 46:My husband and made our reservation online. At no time were we told that the hotel would be charged and the funds held at the time of check-in and the entire time of our stay. Those funds were held the entire weekend! Then I had to call my bank to release the hold the next week cuz I'd already been charged and you were still holding the funds. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

Review 47:I was not told about the 1/2 price on parking when I arrived. I was paying $25.00 a day.

Review 48:Friendly staff Free breakfast Always greeted you Facilities were clean Love the room Welcoming atmosphere

Review 49:Breakfast was first rate - eggs, potatoes, fresh fruit, muffins, breads, bagels, oatmeal and dry cereal, good coffee and juice and a cute little fresh pancake baker - We also used the spa next door at the captain cook - very warm and relaxing just what we needed after walking for a few hours on a rainy day walking distance from lots of Anchorage - we walked less than 5 blocks every night for dinner - Humpy's, the Glacier Brewery and Simon &Seaforts all excellent choices

Review 50:When the shuttle pulled up, I almost didn't go in. The main entranceis kind of creepy, all steel and concrete in badly-lit vestibule. It's a disability ramp which is fin, but they need to find some wayto make it more welcoming.

Review 51:The room was large with great beds and *huge* flat screen tv. It and thebathroom were scrupulously clean. The staff was very helpful andinformative. Location close to lots of restaurants.

Review 52:Having to pay for parking.

Review 53:Hot continental breakfast was wonderfully prepared. We were on the 4th floor and the views were awesome and we were able to open a French Door giving us fresh air and a feeling of openness. The location is great for restaurants and souvenir shopping within a 3 block radius. The rooms were spacious and the staff was greatly accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. Overall, great hotel.

Review 54:Reserved the room in March for July arrival. Didn't have the two queen bedsas booked, but a king and a cot. Told me I could stay someplace else by a flippant desk clerk.

Review 55:We booked a two queen bedroom but when we arrived we were told only a King bedroom was available due to remodeling. AND they only had one rollaway bed. So one of our children had to sleep with us in our King bed. Not what we were expecting.

Review 56:Good size room, breakfast. The outside of the hotel is not much to look at, and the lobby has a recently remodeled look, but in a very strange old-school style. The halls and elevator were shabby but the room itself was fully remodeled and nice. Comfortable and quiet even though we were right beside the elevator.

Review 57:The staff were extremely helpful. We stayed with them for only one night before heading out to Denali. They not only bought camping fuel for us from REI prior to our arrival, they also stored our luggage for a few hours after we got back from Denali so that we could walk around town comfortably before heading to the airport. For the one night we stayed, the room was clean and spacious. No complaints whatsoever.

Review 58:We didn't understand that the hotel across the street was owned by the same folks. We didn't know they had shops and restaurants until the day we were checking out. FYI

Review 59:Great bed!!!!

Review 60:Room was not ready @ check in. Front desk clerk put us in another room. Took awhile but was very accomodating

Review 81:We asked for 2 double beds and got one. That plan we had was a king size bed and nothing more.

Review 98:Very friendly and very clean and very comfortable.

Review 99:The only complaint I could have would be the parking situation which is the same for all of downtown Anchorage.

Review 100:Breakfast seating too small. Ranout of eggs several times. No dark or wheat bread...all sugar or white. Parking expensive.
