Reviews for GuestHouse Inn & Suites Anchorage Inn

Review 1:How the extended parking was behind the building by the alley way and there was a sign that said "if your car gets broken in its your fault" But guesthouse inn had there company sign all over the surrounding buildings to let people staying know it's there property. If it's an unsafe location parking shouldn't be accesible there at all. The courtyard parking was even welcomed to guest only for 15 mins.

Review 2:The room I ordered and my view.

Review 3:A little bit expensive, but Anchorage itself is an expensive city

Review 4:Very comfortable hotel, pretty close to city center (although the city is small). Super-comfortable bed

Review 5:the staff were unfriendly and the beds were very uncomfortable. there was mold on the grout in the bathroom. the online pictures were much nicer than the real thing.

Review 6:Room on second floor which had lots of street noise-don't think the window shut properly. Hopefully it has been fixed. Breakfast basic continental.

Review 7:Great location. Room spacious with tea/coffee making facilities and microwave. Wifi appreciated-also shuttle to the airport.

Review 8:The bed was creaky and very uncomfortable. The room was very dark, most of the lights barely worked in the room. Very small room.

Review 9:We liked that we could walk downtown to restaurants and a little park from our hotel. Price was reasonable.

Review 10:Friendly staff! Though on a main road in downtown Anchorage, the room was very quiet. The bed was just right. The room was equipped with a microwave and small frig, which made self-catering that much easier.

Review 11:Disliked everything about this hotel. Paid $350/night for something that should be priced at $60/night. In fact, I paid the $350 for one night, but ended up checking out at 8pm (the same day), just 5 hours after checking in. I just couldn't stomach the fact that I was charged $350 for one of the nastiest properties I've ever stayed in.

Review 12:Did not like anything about this hotel.

Review 13:Need to borrow a different key from the hotel staff for a laundry facility. Hard to find a car park in busy months.

Review 14:Excellent location. Convenient as I could walk to downtown. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Free wifi.

Review 15:Parking is limited and thru an alley to a back lot, only like 8 spaces near the entry to hotel, but it is free and this IS downtown!

Review 16:A nice restaurant across the street is where you eat with a coupon provided by the hotel, Three simple choices only otherwise you can purchase a better breakfast.

Review 17:I booked my room months before checking in. When I checked in, I wasoffered a room on the last floor (corresponding to my reservation). Afew minutes after I entered my room and started to unpack my lugage. Astaff came and told me that this room was given to me by mistake. Iaccepted to move if the room where they wanted to transfer me was ofsimilar quality/size (I payed for a room with two queen beds). Inparticular, even if I was a solo traveller I asked for the new room tohave two beds just to be sure the size would be big enough (and again Ipaid for a double bedroom) They accepted. They moved me to tiny room onthe second floor with only one queen bed. I then argued that this wasnot corresponding to what they accepted and to my reservation. Finally, after discussion with the manager, they moved me to a normal-size roomon the ground floor, facing the parking lot (dark and noisy compared tothe original room). At that point, I said I was not happy but stoppedarguing, the manager had clearly other problems to deal with.Rude/dishonest staff and poor organisation for a pricey hotel in thecity centre ? not recommended at all.

Review 18:Everything that could go wrong did!! The hotel placement was near thebiggest mall in the city, but far enough away to also be next door tothe soup kitchen and homeless shelter making the ambiance outside thehotel feel dangerous and scary. The only entrance to the building islocked to all people with out a key to the building. Leaving thosechecking in late, after traveling and tired, to be forced to pound on aglass door in hopes of getting the attention of the night shift deskperson reading his book in the back office. I was informed by anemployee that his lack of attention and interest had left him knowinglytraining his replacement person as he finishes out his last days as anemployee at this hotel. So, I can understand his lack of desire to beattentive. But as a traveling customer it made making an effect to getoff the dangerous city streets, where I'm being offered drug salesand locking my innocent, autistic pre-teenage daughter in the car within view in a handicapped parking spot (risking a ticket because wedon't have a handicapped parking tag) just to keep her from beingexposed to the evils of the world she typically doesn't see!! Ispent a good 10 minutes trying to get the attention of the nightemployee. And another 10 trying to scream to him through a glass doorwhile he's sitting at the desk, to open the door, that I can'tuse my key to get in because I don't have one and I need to checkin, and repeating myself over and over while he's telling me"use my key." Once I got buzzed in through the locked glassdoor I was told I'd have to park on the next block where there wasno security attendant, the parking was open to the elements, and I'dhave to walk my families things from there to the hotel because therewas no loading or unloading zone.

Review 19:The day crew seemed willing to help and easy to talk to. Cleaning staffmanager went out of her way to talk to me while I was loading my car.She had heard the negative aspects of my stay and was quick to assure methat it was on rare occasion that she's heard negative feedback fromguests. She made a strong effort to show a kind, business like effort toencourage me to try this specific location at another time claiming thatshe was certain they would make the necessary changes and I'dreceive a better experience during my next stay. Very sweet and trulybelieved in the hotel & service she worked for!! All guesthouseinn's I've stayed at before this one were beautiful with greatcustomer service and all around experience. Unfortunately this anchoragebranch excluded!!

Review 39:Good location and good value for alaska

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Friendliness

Review 42:It was filthy! The hallways smelled like pet/human urine. We disregarded this hoping that at least our room was clean but it smelled worse in the bedroom. What's more the carpets were moist and moldy feeling. It was unbearably disgusting. We felt completely covered in filth and due to the lateness we had to stay one night. Come check out the next day we quickly switched hotels to the Hilton where we could not have been more pleased! Plus we only paid about $50 more.

Review 43:Location would be the only positive thing about this hotel and even then I wouldn't brag about it.

Review 44:drunks outside. and the smell I related to do 'dead' body, the smell that i use to smell when I was a Police Officer

Review 45:computer, quitness, cleanliness, meeting other yupik/inupiaq/tlingkits/ haida - and service.

Review 46:Staff not friendly at all. No real comfort, cleaning average, no breakfast possible, except a coffee in the room : compare to the price, it's not interesting at all. It's better going on Backpackers INN....

Review 47:Location

Review 48:the lobby is really orrible, a breakfast room is necessary

Review 49:the standard of the room

Review 50:Keep it up!

Review 51:No view plus very noisy outside our room...backed onto restaurant garbage collection area.

Review 52:Short walk to downtown. Airport shuttle.

Review 53:There was not booking for us when we arrrived. Fortunately I had the paperwork from Booking.com. I am not impressed!!
