Reviews for Aspen Suites Hotel Anchorage
Review 1:As often as I travel and have stayed in numerous hotels, I found it utterly rediculous to have the main closet located in the bathroom. That's disgusting.
Review 2:Clean room, convenient kitchen facilities in the room.
Review 3:Thin walls. I was on the first floor and heard my neighbors from both sides and above. That was the only con.
Review 4:Rooms were every nice. More than I expected.
Review 5:Facility does not feel secure at night. My stays there, late night is scary, with groups of young people roaming hallways or hanging out outside hotel. My last stay, witnessed a drug exchange in the parking lot latenight as I returned from family gathering. But haven't effected me liking the Aspen.
Review 6:Very clean room, comfy bed and great value. I've stayed at the Aspen several times.
Review 7:the some of the furniture is starting to show it's age, no comp. breakfast, no shuttle service.
Review 8:The location, the even room temp. ease of checking in, the size of the room, their winter rates are very reasonable.
Review 9:The trash receptacle at the entrance of the building was over flowing with garbage and cigarette butts. It was disgusting. The halls and elevator where filthy!!! I complained- two hours later no change- that night the trash was taken care of- but upon checkout late morning the next day- halls and elevator remained the same :(
Review 10:I complained about the unclean conditions of the hotel- the front desk said it was "inexcusable" and asked "what she could do to make it right" and she discounted my stay for me. I appreciate that- and that's the reason I'm not leaving a very very poor review.
Review 11:On line booked a smoking room...they have none..booked room with 2 beds they gave me one..and attitude when I asked for 2 they said they didn't have any but reluctantly and rudely gave me 2 upon checkout charged my card even though on line I had checked pay cash..offered no solution to the fact that money wouldn't be returned for days even though it was their mistake.. I was on a budget and lucky to make it home
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:The security was kind of harassing us. We were playing music not loud but I guess if standing right by the door you can hear it. Ruined the vibe a Lil. He didn't say guest were complaining he just said if I can hear they can.
Review 14:The whole setup was nice, good heat and awesome channels I would definitely stay there monthly.
Review 15:We spent two nights with you The clerk at the desk was very helpful and polite. The Herd of Buffalo on the second floor ran wild until 1:30 in the morning. Second night I contacted the front desk and she called security about midnight. That lasted for 30 minutes and the herd got out again. Never again. I paid as much for my comfort as they did on the second floor, and after a trying trip in the pouring rain from Soldotna I expect things to taper off around 11:00. That shouldn't be too much. I also did not know there was no maid service if we stayed more than one night. For $10.00 dollars more we could have had a breakfast. We elected to stay with the Aspen as I had heard good things about the unit in Soldotna. Sorry folks, your Hotel don't cut it.
Review 16:Nice personnel working the front desk.
Review 17:I looked out in the night and watch a man on a bike walking and looking into the vehicles that were parked there. When I asked about it the next morning, I was told he had been around for a couple of weeks. It makes me think he is scoping things out. I was a little nervious to know that the workers knew he was doing this.
Review 18:I like the security of the exercise room. While in there, a man tried to get in without a key and was not able to. I felt better about being in there.
Review 19:Great staff. My daughter made a mess with her taco bell. I apploigise and the front desk said. Dont worry about it she can clean it up in a sincere way.
Review 20:We booked the room for two nights and checked out. Then we wanted to stay a third night, we had to negotiate the price of the room. Not the best prices from the first time but we liked the rooms. It was the best we could get. Great place to stay though.
Review 21:The room is large. There is another room for the large bathroom with a tub in it too. There are dishes if you want to cook in the kitchen area. Relaxing is great in the large and soft chairs to watch TV. You might even enjoy taking your shoes and socks off to enjoy the soft carpet that is clean too. I do.
Review 22:No one restocked the coffee. I was there for 3 days and honestly didn't even see housekeeping on my floor.
Review 23:Kitchenette with all the trimmings, although I didn't use any dishes other than a coffee cup. It is nice to know that I can eat in the room and have all of the silverware or utensils that I will need.
Review 24:I seemed every day I had to get the room key recharged. I would be up at my room stick the key in and the yellow light would come on. I just had my knee replaced and it was hard on me because I usually came back to my room exhausted. and would have to tromp all the way back to the front desk for them to recharge them. Frustrating. Elevator very slow. Hard to know what was on Television. no guide and hard to change channels.
Review 25:Room had all the amenities I needed including free wifi. and free parking. Nice size refrigerator so I didn't have to go out and eat every meal.
Review 26:Noisy hallways. Children and people in the hallways all hours of the night. Only coffee available in the morning.
Review 27:Seemed like a nice suite if you plan to stay for a few days and use the kitchen area.
Review 28:Theres only 1 elevator and its dreadfully slow! The bed was very uncomfortable. Didn't like that there's not maid service everyday.
Review 29:The rate was fair because all other surrounding hotels cost almost twice as much. I liked that there was a full kitchen.
Review 30:no one explained that this did not have housekeeping so no beds made, no clean towels etc. And the pillows were awful. Could not get the heater/air turned off.
Review 31:overpriced for take out your own trash, do it yourself hotel, just because it is the spring, And if you need a maid, a $25.fee to be added? Automatic front doors to assist with bringing in luggage would be helpful.
Review 32:Staff is pleasant, area is quiet and secure. Having fresh coffee in the lobby is a big plus.
Review 33:The street noise from the apt. Complex behind the building. There was no convenient place to have breakfast as we were there only one night.
Review 34:Liked having kitchen facilities and the bed was comfortable. Also appreciated having enough space to have guests.
Review 35:My only complaint is the soft bed, My back is used to a tempurepedic so maybe I'm spoiled, but I find the beds in all the Aspen hotels a bit on the mushy side. I won't let that deter me returning to the Aspen because everything else is so great.
Review 36:They graciously accommodated my request for a top story room, made all the difference. I've never had a more peaceful, pleasant stay in a hotel anywhere. The hotel staf was so friendly.
Review 37:I was on the ground floor and noticed noises at times coming through the ceiling. It was present, but not objectionable. It would have been nicer to have a hot tub to relax in. The hotel has an exercise facility, yet no pool or hot tub. I usually prefer to stay at locations that have a hot tub.
Review 38:I had a single queen suite that included a kitchenette. I had a sofa that was convenient for having a friend or two come to visit. I didn't have need to use the kitchen, but it was a nice bonus. Check-in was nicely surprising as I was given a better rate than I got online.
Review 39:No fan in bathroom in room 116, and no lock on bathroom door (it's a pocket door). Also did not get winter special although desk clerk said I should have as I booked online.
Review 40:The room appeared to be clean
Review 41:The hotel is new and very clean. The staff is very accommodating. We've stayed in many Anchorage motels, this one has been the best. Will definitely stay again.
Review 42:I was locked out of my room on Saturday night. Told the hotel staff, and they did nothing. I went out to my car at 1am and got back into the building but was unable to get into my room. Therefore, I had to sleep in my car till 6am when the staff arrived. The staff said their was security there, I saw no one. Was awfully upset about this whole situation. They didn't discount that night, which they should have or at least gave me a free night stay. Something, but no one did nothing. All I got was a damn apology.
Review 43:The one and only down side is that the property is located next to a fairly large busy highway and some of the road noise was a little noticeable but not enough to discourage return visits
Review 44:The hotel is very clean and staff is more than friendly they're very accommodating. Location is in mid town in a clean section of town. The rooms are very large and the full size kitchen was a wonderful plus. We will definitely return there every time we make it to Anchorage,
Review 45:Smell in room of curry, no air conditioning, had to request another room, view limited, on noisy, busy street
Review 46:Helpful desk staff, location to restaurants and other attractions
Review 47:The location is poor. No kitchen facilities at all made it necessary to go to another hotel nearby just to have breakfast.
Review 48:The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 49:The wifi was quite unreliable and we saw no option for wired internet - this is problematic for business travelers. Considering the size of the room, one might expect a larger bed. As an extended-stay there is minimal housekeeping which is OK, but it would be nice in that case to have more than one coffee-serving and one shampoo, etc - shouldn't have to go to the desk for simple things like that if staying a few days.
Review 50:The location is convenient in mid-town. Nice to have an equipped kitchen. The room and bathroom are both quite large. Laundry available - good for extended stay. Staff was helpful.
Review 51:If your looking for lots of extra services or frills this isn't the place.
Review 52:Room was clean and well maintained. Wifi was strong. Facility was very well kept.
Review 53:If you don't mind paying $200 a night without maid service each day then this is the place for you. They clean the room once a week.
Review 54:It was close to the classroom I was in town for. There were some some good dining choices close by.
Review 55:No transportation. Was supposed to stay 2 more nights at the end of our stay, but decided against it. We ended up staying a few doors down.
Review 56:All was ok - should have transportation since others around do.
Review 57:1. Our heating/cooling system was not working properly. We had to contact maintenance to turn on the heater because our room was so cold, then we were not able to cool things down when it got too warm the next afternoon. 2. We stayed 2 nights. In our experience if we stay more than one night we still get basic housekeeping services; here our beds were not remade and our bathroom was not tidied up and our hand towels and face clothes were not replaced. We hung up our bath towels for re-use.
Review 58:We thought the kitchen facilities were excellent. We used the freezer and fridge and even some dishes and utensils.
Review 59:As most hotels in Anchorage, this one was too expensive.
Review 60:Confortable, clean and quiet. Several restaurants are nearby, and the access to other parts of town, to the airport and to the highways is easy.
Review 61:When we checked in the room was way short of towels and toilet paper. The bathroom had no fan and the rooms clothes closet was placed there :( . Also the mattress on the bed was not firm enough but felt more like Grandmas feather bed.
Review 62:I liked the room overall and the friendly staff.
Review 63:I did not like that no breakfast was offered. I also did not like that the front desk staff was never at the front desk, you always had to ring a bell. I do not think the front desk should ever close, should be open 24 hours a day.
Review 64:I liked the cleanliness of the hotel and that it was quiet.
Review 65:This is not the suite I thought I was renting. Nothing more than a glorified hotel room without service you get in a hotel.
Review 66:Clean,good support facilities
Review 67:Cleanlieness..nice location.. friendly
Review 68:All the comfort
Review 69:Convenient clean and comfortable
Review 70:The cost of room was great for our budget. Makes our business trip work.
Review 71:Can't think of anything.
Review 72:your hotel was not on the anc bed bug registry. Free wifi and parking. Are great features.
Review 73:The bed is way to soft
Review 74:The kitchen is great, and has everything there to fix simple meals.
Review 75:Drunks running halls all night every-night beer bottles and puke in hallway
Review 76:everything
Review 77:I likes how we could get help right away
Review 78:Noisy some nights (not the fault of the hotel, just rambunctious guests).
Review 79:Location is great - middle of town - not close, but central to everything!
Review 80:No swimming pool or jacuzzi
Review 81:That it has a full size refrigerator, pots pans, and cookware,
Review 82:Outstanding deal, fair price and nice accommodations.
Review 83:No housekeeping everyday
Review 84:The kitchen
Review 85:Small lobby. No waiting area.
Review 86:Good location for our needs. Great dining nearby.
Review 87:Great, spacious room! Overall, I was very comfortable and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Review 88:It would be nice to have breakfast.
Review 89:The rooms were set up real nice. They were clean, which is the most important.
Review 90:It seemed new. It was clean. Good location. I liked the kitchenette, however I didn't use it.
Review 91:Wifi kept acting up. Causing me NOT to use it.
Review 92:Peace and quiet.
Review 93:Floors very dirty in the lobby and hallways. Trash setting in the halls.
Review 94:No house keeping
Review 95:Not much I didn't like. But I would like to checkout at noon.
Review 96:The amenities made me feel like I was in a home, not a hotel.
Review 97:Nice to have a fan in bathroom. Otherwise no complaints
Review 98:Comfortable beds room size cleanliness
Review 99:it was like staying at a strict dorm room, but that might be because ANMC contracts with aspen.
Review 100:clean, comfortable
Review 101:Walking distance to restaurants, the hotel was clean, very nice rooms, friendly service checking in and checking out
Review 102:extremely plain jane
Review 103:the price and it was quiet
Review 104:There are no comments available for this review
Review 105:Can't think of anything
Review 106:Location
Review 107:No breakfast and strange people hanging out outside and in.
Review 108:The bed was very uncomfortable.
Review 109:Very clean nice room, very nice friendly staff.
Review 110:was sad there was no pool and that office was closed after 12:00 AM
Review 111:Area and the staff was very nice!
Review 112:None
Review 113:Recommend this place to all travelers. My suite was clean and felt like home away from home.
Review 114:Everything
Review 115:Clean rooms with full kitchette made it easy to stay for the 10 days.
Review 116:I didn't dislike anything.
Review 117:It was clean and the location was pretty good. I'd stay there again!
Review 118:Room were clean and very roomie . Bathroom have a full size tub which is very nice also Liked the kitchenette with full size refrigerator

Review 120:The location. Also having security at night time.
Review 121:Great price, convenient location, the rooms were well equipped and secure. Well insulated from street noise.
Review 122:Inability to see a TV guide to see what was available for me to watch.
Review 123:Newness. Lovely little kitchen. Quiet. Free parking and WiFi.
Review 124:convenient
Review 125:Loved having a kitchen and the coffee in the lobby was great
Review 126:Excellent property. Newer. Did not hear a sound from any of the other rooms. Great location. Will definitely stay here again!
