Reviews for Kano Hotel
Review 1:Trouble was, there were two German families who obviously come every year and take over the place, hogging the jetty sofas, never leaving the hotel, eating there every night, chain-smoking and chucking food into the river to "attract fish" - bad for ecology and looks horrible. They rather spoilt the stay for other guests. Tricky one for the manager as for him they are great clients.
Review 2:Location, location, location. We had Room 10 which is clearly the best room - balcony and sun beds. Obliging staff who cooked delicious basic food at a very reasonable price when requested. Evening Drinks on the jetty opposite the rock tombs were magical.
Review 3:Wi fi a little weak; could offer more bathroom amenities, but room was so reasonable and innkeepers so nice that it didn't really matter; we'd brought plenty from previous places (always a good ideA!)
Review 4:Great location, cute hotel and what made our visit so very special are Kaya and Felice, the owners who went out of their way to make us happy-little special goodies brought to us at cocktail time or dessert, special blue crab made for us, even a complementary boat trip up to the mineral mud baths. Hotel is a perfect distance from the crazier section of town, nice and quiet but near good restaurants. Loved our 3 day stay on the relaxing chaises along the River Dalyan!
Review 5:shower was broken no shower gel, small bed. I thought it was expensive for what we got
Review 6:breakfast by the river very good, and plenty of it,handy for the shops
Review 7:The price per night that we obtained through Booking.com was 73,40 €, when leaving the hotel the owner asked us to pay 80 €, and we replied that the correct price was 73,40 €. Finally he charged us the equivalent of 80 € in Turkies Liras (TL). BE CAREFUL!!!
Review 8:The Kano was delightful. Kaya and the team couldn't do enough for you, sitting at the river's edge eating delicious grilled sea bass was magical, our room was simple but lovely (worth going for room 10 - bigger than the others). We loved our stay
Review 9:We had the front upstairs room that had a private balcony (room 10) and views of the river and tombs. It was was short walk into town and was very peaceful at night. Our host was very helpful in recommending tours etc. Spacious bath room, comfortable bed, mini fridge, but no kettle (I suppose you could have used the urn downstairs). Very relaxing stay, wish we had stayed longer to make use of the balcony.
Review 10:Rooms a bit basic and dark, not much air. (My wife says that's the charm of the hotel.)
Review 11:Perfect location. Backyard with cozy restaurant open right into the river, great view and tranquility. Staff can call for a boat to take you to the magnificent beach. Very helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 12:The poor wifi and the adjacent clubs were noisy right through one of the nights we were there.
Review 13:The location and view to the ancient tombs, the breakfast and staff were excellent and very helpful. Couldn't beat sitting lake side late afternoon with a drink.
Review 14:hate leaving this place!
Review 15:There are no enough words to describe how we loved this small hotel. Instead of naming this place as hotel, we prefer to call 'our home in Dalyan'. The hosts were so kind. We loved chatting with them. You can leave your all stress and fulfill with positive energy at this place. We really loved them!!
Review 16:We heard during the night music noises coming from ourside.
Review 17:On the river side, just under the tumbs lighténed at night, this small hotel welcomes you warmly. The garden is a nice place for a peacefull breakfast or dinner. The owner is very kind and will help you for boat trip or Kauros visit.
Review 18:The room was a bit small and wi-fi only in public areas, however who needs to stay in the room anyhow!
Review 19:The owners and staff( couldn't tell the difference at all) were very much friendly but also respected the borders of privacy quite proffessionally. Best part is that small gestures and favors make you feel more like a guest than a customer.
Review 20:30+ min boat ride to the seaside which is inevitable if you are planning to stay in any hotel by the river.
Review 21:I stayed 6 nights. End definitely enjoyed my stay at Kano hotel. Stuff is friendly. They would take extra steps to accommodate your needs. Foods are delicious, especially fish and seafood. Owners are very easy going and helpful. They do everything to make you feel comfortable. If you are looking for a chilled out place Kano hotel is the place for you.
Review 22:basic rooms but expected. dalyan was too busy for us but the hotel location was suitably out of it by only a couple of minutes walk if we wanted to go.
Review 23:location and views. lovely setting.
Review 24:Smell of pillows. Room size.
Review 25:Location, staff, good, boss is taking care of everything you need.
Review 26:Everyone was friendly and helpful. I loved being able to swim from the garden and the view over the river was superb.
Review 27:Over a wonderfull plave
Review 28:Beautiful location right on the river, with a wonderful view to the ancient tombs. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:Perfect staff, perfect location, nice and pleasant facilities, very good breakfast; in short good value of money.
Review 31:friendly staff, nice and well equipped room. very service orientated.
Review 32:Wonderful location right on the river. Lovely breakfast in the garden. We also had an excellent dinner in the evening. Very helpful staff.
Review 33:small hotel with a great atmosphere and an excellent view. the staff was always available and really friendly. good restaurant too!
Review 34:Stunning views over tombs. Easy access to restaurants and bars
Review 35:Nothing really
Review 36:Location is brilliant on the river Staff are excellent and always helpful Cleanliness is excellent Food is great.
Review 37:Nothing in particular.
Review 38:Staff very welcoming and warm, Beautiful Location, Excellent food, Riverside garden very relaxing, Easy walking distance to town, Cosy.
Review 39:How lucky were we to choose Hotel Kano for our first visit to Dalyan. From the moment we arrived Kaya and Hassan did everything they could to ensure a relaxing stay. Nothing was too much trouble and we appreciated the boat trips along the river to the beach and to the magical natural thermal springs and mud bath, whilst also free to explore the area for ourselves. Breakfasts were excellent with little extra treats appearing on a daily basis and don't miss the octopus and shrimp that are available to order. We enjoyed relaxing on the river patio with its amazing views of the rock tombs and the comings and goings of the river boats, and service, whilst attentive, was unobtrusive. Our room was simply furnished and comfortable although with three teenagers in the room next door, hot water was sometimes rather elusive! We hope very much to return.
Review 40:We had a fabulous relaxing stay here in the last week of the season. Location is perfect, meals at hotel very quality & value. Breakfast on terrace in the morning & firepit with dinner -views of illuminated ancient tombs. Kaya was a great host who even took us for a free trip on his boat. We definitely intend to return- take no notice of reviews saying very little is open , we found about 80% of places were open, temperatures in day were perfect for exploration & sun bathing though chilly in the evenings. If you want to hire a boat with skipper for the day ask for Captain Vedat Tungay on the waterfront -great value day trips & what a character !
Review 41:The Suite room is not really a suite, just one room with two smallstraight chairs and a small table. We booked a suite, thinking that wewould get at least a room with comfortable chairs, a separate sittingarea. The room is not big enough to be called a suite and we weredisappointed. To market this room as a suite amounts to deceptivepractice. The bathroom was beautiful and spacious, but there was anannoying, persistent sewage smell.
Review 42:We liked the view across the river and being so close to the water. Thestaff was friendly and helpful. The free boat ride provided by the staffmember was enjoyable.
Review 43:The location of the hotel was fantastic with a wonderful riverside jetty and a great view of the old tombs. The food was excellent with wonderful breakfasts by the river and we ate twice in the evening and the food was extremely good, fresh, very well prepared and presented. The room was comfortable, well equipped and well serviced. The service was very friendly and attentive with good suggestions and advice on things to do. The owner offered free trips on his boat to local places of interest, including the lake and hot springs. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The owner was witty, charming and attentive.
Review 44:end of season and Dalyan was mostly shut for season but room price was high, there is nothing much to do there and if you don't have a car then it is awkward and expensive to travel there by taxis as direct bus routes are not available. hotel was v disappointing although was reminiscent of pics it was not a great room and the single bed mattress was saggy and needs to be dumped! If noise bothers you the walls are thin and there is a night club next door.
Review 45:hotel management were very kind and obliging and helpful to guests needs and enjoyment
Review 46:Bed wasnt my favourite.
Review 47:Staff were amazingly kind and caring persons. Interior is designed upon minimalism and coherency. Hasan and Kaya are surely right people to guide you for having the most out of Dalyan. Location is set nearby the Dalyan channel and it is very close to where ever you want to be in Dalyan. Staff can come to pick you you up when you arrive.
Review 48:The air conditioning unit was noisy and the temperature of water in the shower was very variable
Review 49:Although I could find specific things to criticise about this hotel overall we thought they got it right. They were very welcoming, the patio next to the river is lovely, and the food was some of the best we had during our fortnight in Turkey.
Review 50:Neighboorhood can be a little noisy at night
Review 51:Hassan is a fabulous host, place is clean, small and friendly. Good food and many things to do in the surroundings. Best place to wake up in the morning and have your breakfast, looking at the historical site across the river.
Review 52:The double room was scary, without windows. Not my impression frominternet photo.Mr. Hasan was of great help and friendliness, but the other partner who took us in upon check-in was horrid and unbelievably rude.
Review 53:The suite is great, but noisy air conditioning means not nice to siton balcony.
Review 54:we really like the service of the hotel and the attention we receive from the management, was very friendly and welcome for the all staff, great atmosphere and nice food.
Review 55:Perfect location, size of establishment and unbelievable food. Hassan and Kaya went out of their way to ensure everyone was happy, comfortable and enjoying their stay. Couldn't have asked for better hosts....did I mention how great the food was?
Review 56:We had to pay for orange juice at breakfast.no tea making facilities or shower gel in room.we stayed in hotel in Dalyan last week for half the price with all these facilities.
Review 57:Riverside position
Review 58:The staff are wonderful, very welcoming and kind beyond the call of duty. The food was lovely, the view from the hotel pier and outdoor restaurant was amazing. The owner took us out on his boat up the river past the rock tombs to swim in the lake the afternoon we arrived! Overall we had a wonderful experience staying in a great, friendly and value for money hotel. The little touches including flowers on the freshly made bed were lovely. The hotel has the best view from the restaurant/pier of the ancient rock tombs, which are lit up at night, and a private pier to swim from!
Review 59:The bathroom is giant but not so modern. Not a problem but a betterdesign would make this hotel perfect!
Review 60:Hassan and his partner are awesome. Even when was too late to take thepublic boat, they offered to take us to the beach in their own car. Theytook us and waited until we were ready to leave and didn't acceptmoney from us. They also found an electric converter for us (they boughtone because they didn't have one and again didn't accept ourmoney). The rooms are ok, confortable with al you need but don'texpect luxuries. Expect a familiar stay. The views from therestaurant/garden/Dock are directly to the river and the tombs.Great chef with no cheap diner but unforgettable moment. They also bringyou a soft blandeo to cover you while you eat. Lovely stay!
Review 61:Needed to be in public area for wifi.Toilet required servicing.
Review 62:a small family run hotel.Very welcoming and friendly.Great location on the river with views to Kaunos tombs.Lovely garden area for breakfast and optional dinner. You could fish for crabs which they would cook for you
Review 63:A bit difficult to find the first time but other than that, it was prefect.
Review 64:Beautiful location right on the river with views of the tombs. Amazing staff, excellent service, great value for the money.
Review 65:We like to have a DVD/CD playing facility ...I understood, from emails, that this was available in the bedroom, but it wasn't [ but this doesn't detract from an unforgettably happy time ! ]
Review 66:Hassan and Kayaa's friendliness and lovely humour, plus the great care they showed us were very touching and heart-warming - they went out of their way to please and help us. Cleanliness was top-notch. The situation of the hotel and garden are so, so beautiful..we look forward VERY much to returning and re-meeting " old friends" .
Review 67:Lack of working Wi-Fi Snot on the bed Noise from within and outside hotel late at night/early in the morning Over friendly/intrusive owner Some very kitsch furnishings e.g. dog's behind as a hook, frog as a bin, random ducks in the shower
Review 68:Good breakfast (though as ever in Turkey would love proper coffee and juice) Location and view
Review 69:Not Applicable!
Review 70:Everything - Hasan was a wonderful host. Location was perfect. A great place to relax on the decking watching the boats sail down the Dalyan river.
Review 71:A very friendly, helpful and generous hotel. Stunning views from the riverside across to the tombs. Fantastic breakfast. Kaya is a great host and we enjoyed our talks with him very much. A must stay if you visit Dalyan.
Review 72:We took the suite which is very well located (superbe view of the riverand the tombs), spacy and with a privat balcon (ps: the rooms do notface the river); staff is very nice, breakfast is rich, the hotel'sgarden is adjacent to the river and very pleasant, the place is notcompletely in the center (but only 5min walk to the center) andtherefore nice and quiet
Review 73:It was a most pleasant stay. They do everything they can to make sure their guests have a pleasant stay and they go the extra mile. Rooms are cleaned every day, have TV and aircon. Nice location by the channel, warm atmosphere, most of all, nice people. I'll come back again.
Review 74:Cold/hot water balance in the shower was very hard to adjust. Ended up taking a shower with warm water in a very hot summer day. Some of the trees could use some pruning on the way from the rooms to the breakfast area/riverside, I ended up getting the same branch hit my head (almost poke my eye) a few times but I was partly to blame after the first time.
Review 75:It's right by the river, great place to read during the day and great for some wine at night. Breakfast was delicious. Friendly owners that know the area. Very close to downtown but also not at a very loud part of town.
Review 76:Downstairs rooms are dark; very poor sunlight
Review 77:Good location; next to the canal, you can get on and off the boats in front of the hotel, close to the centre, there is a market across the street Rock tombs view Delicious breakfast; delicious, served to table Room cleaned everyday Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 78:It was a good choice for staying the bed was comfortable but I wish thetv had been working properly. Also the shower didn't work so properly, there was too less cold water so I had to take a hot shower in August.
Review 79:The location was very good, the breakfast was sufficient, but itwould be much more enjoyable place with some specialities for thebreakfast. If you prefer a peacefull holiday you can easily choseKano Hotel for relaxing.
Review 80:The location of the hotel is lovely on the edge of the dalyan river over looking the rock tombs on the far bank, a fantastic setting. NIce breakfast in the garden, watching the boats go by and feeding the fish, even spotted a turtle.
Review 81:My only complaint was that the woman who ran the place couldn't speak English. She had her brother who could speak, but he was not there sometimes when we needed assistance.
Review 82:The position opposite the Kings Tombs was excellent. The riverside location was also relaxing. The rooms were very clean.
Review 83:Great location and value. The owners were very gracious and accommodating and went out of their way to put dinner together for us even though we arrived late. Extremely relaxing and we were sorry we weren't staying 2 days instead of one.
Review 84:Everything was very lovely, and the attention to detail was of a veryhigh standard. Very good value for money. There was a little confusionon arrival, as this was very late in the evening, and I was a lonefemale traveller. The hotel was in total darkness, and without theassistance of a local shopkeeper I would have been unaware of how tocontact the owners. Clearer information outside ( easy for a for atired traveller to understand) would have been helpful. Once thishiccup was over everything was very good, and everyone was veryhelpful. I cannot fault it.
Review 85:There was nothing to complain about.
Review 86:I stayed in this lovely hotel with my girl friend. The location of the hotel is definitely great, it's just by the river and very closed to city center (5 mins by walk). You can go to Iztuzu Beach by using boats which will take you from to hotel. Hotel staff was so friendly. I really felt like I'm at home during my stay. The owner of the hotel, she knows this business. If you have a plan to stay at Dalyan and see the Caretta Carettas, Kano Hotel is the best place that you can find. You'll love there.
Review 87:We could not find any faults at all- we loved it. We checked in reallylate after 1am due to a night flight, but still the owners werecheerful. The rooms were so clean and the beds really comfortable.Theshower room was immaculate with toiletries provided. Each room had asmall fridge with freezer compartment and an lcd tv though we didn't trythis. The free wi-fi worked in our room, reception and terrace. The viewfrom our studio terrace and the garden was superb- as in the photos, looking over the river to the rock tombs. The salon was very comfortablewith a log fire for colder evenings (the weather was very variable).Nothing was too much trouble, it is obviously much loved by the ownersand staff. Breakfast was delicious and at a civilised 9-11, though as itwas very quiet we found they were extremely flexible. We also had anexcellent evening meal there. Our teenage kids also really loved it,(though due to its proximity to water it probably isn't really suitablefor younger children). We will definitely return.
Review 88:Nothing.
Review 89:Great location, spotlessly clean. Fantastic food. Wonderful hospitality.
Review 90:Very friendly proprietor.
Review 91:lovely suite and sheltered balcony (it was very windy everywhere else when we were there -unusual)
Review 92:Location was brilliant. Manager was excellent - helpful and welcoming.
Review 93:The service by the management was wonderful.
Review 94:Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location with riverside setting
Review 95:The view-pleasant staff-helpful staff-attentive
Review 96:Great riverside location. Friendly staff who are very helpful and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Review 97:Lovely position on the river, staff were really friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 98:relaxed atmosphere, friendly accommodating staff, wonderful location, plenty to see and do, great food, nothing too much trouble
Review 99:Friendly Breakfast Dinner Hospitality
Review 100:Wonderful, friendly owners. Great play to stay. Highly recommended.
Review 101:Super!
Review 102:Room was dimly lit.
Review 103:Excellent location -- on the river, right across from the rock-cut tombs.
