Reviews for Hotel Troopeird

Review 1:You want to feel like back home well this is the place. very friendly people great food and outstanding breakfast. Rooms are clean and beds are good. Don´t miss the fried eggs for breakfast. Cannot wait to be back.

Review 2:All was OK

Review 3:I was at the Matexpo exhibition and the location was 3 minutes drive away. Parking was right outside and the hosts were very friendly with perfect English spoken.

Review 4:No tea making facilities in the bedrooms.

Review 5:Owners were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast and meals were excellent. English breakast tea bags available. Good off road parking for our motorcycles. Good restaurants & bars in nearby village of Bellgem.

Review 6:Nothing - all good.

Review 7:Owners charming, couldn't do more to help, very personal service. Free coffee if you wanted, very good wi-fi. Room was dead old fashioned with an odd clash of styles, which gave it a lot of charm. If you like a bit of individual style that will remind you of your grandmother's house, you will love this. Very accommodating to cyclists - will lock your bike securely in the boiler room. Breakfast fab. Very good value for money all round.

Review 8:- seems to be no elevator (at least I didn't see it :)) - hotel is in village so no entertainment and shops around, have to go to Kortrijk (~km)

Review 9:- home made breakfasts - local nuts - staff was very kind

Review 10:-old furniture in general...probably rooms would need to be renewed

Review 11:-dinner and breakfas -customer care of the staff

Review 12:There was nothing to dislike

Review 14:Nothing.

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Helpful staff. Food. Beer

Review 18:Owner was always there ready to help. Very friendly and relaxed.

Review 19:The staff were friendly, the was food exceptional, and the comfort of the room excellent.

Review 20:Car parking is limited

Review 21:Quiet, but near enough to everything Made very welcome Excellent service

Review 22:The only negative was the bed. It was very low, had a thin, lumpy and I suspect superannuated mattress and creaked loudly whenever I turned over. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.

Review 23:Almost everything. The welcome was warm, the hotel is solidly built with no creaking stairs or floorboards. The garden is pleasant and the restaurant is very comfortable with reasonably priced food. It is also very conveniently situated for the Dunkerque ferries. Finally, the breakfast was an unexpected cooked delight.

Review 24:Really did not find.

Review 25:Was just at business trip and stayed for one night. Cosy place looked like a little castle inside. We had a room faced to the yard and there was green and silence. Very nice breakfast area and food is fresh and good. All made and leading with care.

Review 26:There was nothing deluxe about the room. There were ash trays in the nonsmoking room. There were no coffee or tea making facilities in the room, and we were charged six euros for the coffee and tea we ordered . TheEnglish breakfast was not what it should be , it was scrambled eggs witha very small portion of bacon on the top .The spa and sauna had a fee ofeuro 75 per couple for three hours. No food was available on thepremises from Friday until Monday. A hotel that does not live up to whatit states. Also it stated no pets , yet in the hotel information in theroom it said pets were welcome.

Review 27:The location.

Review 28:The full english breakfast needed more choice ie mushrooms tomatoes sausage etc, an english breakfast is not just two eggs and bacon.

Review 29:Very friendly and helpful, nice rooms seemed quite.

Review 30:Leaving

Review 31:warm welcome by English speaking owner. Even though the boss, chef, was recovering from surgery and the menu was therefore limited the food was still excellent.

Review 32:Great room, excellent staff, simple but great food (the local beer is recommended) quiet, comfy beds (although a little low to the ground), easy to find, good links from the town to other parts of Belgium, good location for the large nearby conference centre - overall, thoroughly enjoyable.

Review 33:Absolutely friendly owners. They take care of everything and is a real family business and you feel part of it. Restaurant has a nice menu with local specialties. Rooms are rustic but comfortable. Good and complete breakfast. Very nice location.

Review 34:It might discourage some guests that there is no restaurant at weekends and the bar closes at 22.00.

Review 35:The hotel was pleasant and our room very comfortable. The hotel is close to Kortrijk a beautiful town and situated in nice grounds. First impressions are not encouraging but once in the hotel grows on you.

Review 36:The wine was a bit expensive.

Review 37:We wanted somewhere that was easy to find and not in a city centre, since I had not driven on the continent for many years. The hotel Troopeird was ideal in this respect. We ate in the hotel and the food and wine were good.
