Reviews for Hotel Husa De La Couronne Liege
Review 1:First impression, put off by the boarded up building beside the hotel. Which detracts from the appearance of a pleasant and well maitained hotel.
Review 2:Cleanliness, and quiet room location.
Review 3:It was the second time I've booked at this hotel and surely the last one. Unpolite staff, bad manners, dirty and poor room, broken things inside the room, noises, warm room, very uncomfortable bed, bad service (towels, bathroom), etc. An absolute disaster! The price for a room is very expensive for what I've found. I'll never book again at this hotel or any other Husa's hotel.
Review 4:Its location. That's the only positive thing.
Review 5:Staff very friendly and helpful. Went above and beyond when we got stranded at Spa-Francochamps because the bus back to Vervier railway station didn't turn up! I called reception and they sent a taxi for us. Brilliant. We had to go back to the hotel because our GP tickets for Sunday were in the room!
Review 6:Nothing to mention.
Review 7:Great location - close to train station with a small supermarket just across the road. Friendly and helpful staff - they went out of their way to assist my sister with arranging a gift to be delivered for my birthday. Large comfortable room.
Review 8:wifi in room did not work unless you stand in hall outside room.
Review 9:directly across from train station, market, etc. walking distance to decent restaurants
Review 10:The staff were very polite and helpful. The location was perfect for travelling to and from the Formula1 as it is right opposite the train station. You can pre book travel to the F1 circuit with the Hotel but you need to arrange this well in advance.
Review 11:Breakfast only from 0700 hrs - so I had to miss it in order to catch a train to Koln a few minutes after 0700 hrs.
Review 12:Location next to railway station for early train - perfect for international train connections
Review 13:Good service. Clean and close to good bars and restaurants.Staff very accommodating and also provided shuttles to the Belgian GP, which was the reason we stayed. Friendly taxi driver who then took us around the local towns near the track for a little tour, which was nice.
Review 14:- bad sound proofing for noise from the hallway (guest vacuum cleaner, ..)
Review 15:- close proximity to train station (practical for daytrips with the train, city centre about 25 min walking distance) - good sound proofing for outside noise - eco friendly
Review 16:Our room definitley dont look like on pictures, it was much smaller!Hotel personal dont speak enough english - just one man on receptionen personal by breakfest also not! And they ask for breakfest 16 euroon website, but directly in hotel you can buy it for 12 euro forperson, but for that quality is still too much! We just had no mood towalk around and searching place for breakfest so we just paied it.Variety is small, vegetable and fruit was definitley not fresh andbread hard. I would not choose that hotel for second time, but for onenight it was ok.
Review 17:Hotel is very near train station and 2 km from city centre. But to thecentre you can take comfortable bus from train station what take about 5minutes. I like modern design from the hotel. And the bed - king size -was very comfortable!
Review 18:This is a great hotel, eco friendly air con worked like a dream. Reception staff were very helpful, great bed, quiet, good night's sleep. Kettle in room, Good wifi
Review 19:Room booked was for two occupants, however, ended up only one. Two occupants could not turn around in that very small room.
Review 20:Bed, staff and location good.
Review 21:The room was awfully hot and stuffy, air conditioning not working at all. We were tricked into thinking the room price was 75 euros, although the city tax (4 euros) was only mentioned to us on check-out - not very transparent.
Review 22:Helpfulness of the staff The room was very quiet.
Review 23:Our purpose was to travel to several places in the countryside surrounding Liege so this was a perfect jumping off spot for us. Proximity to the train station was ideal.
Review 24:Apparently, when you book through other internet sites than their own, you don't get a bottle of water in the room. I would have preferred to have the option to pay for a bottle of water in the room than drink the tap water, which I did.
Review 25:Able to eat our little breakfast that we bought from the Delhaize across the street in the outside terrace on floor 1. Staff was friendly.
Review 26:The room was pretty warm (even with the window wide open - which was noisey because on the roof next to our room was some sort of generator) and the showerhead didn't stay in the middle of the pole (it turned to the wall whioe showering)
Review 27:breakfast, the fact that we good store our bikes in the room, next to the trainstation
Review 28:We didn't take the breakfast because it was over priced.
Review 29:Cleanness and overall comfort. Room nicely presented. Really close to train station. Professional staff. Overall we highly recommend.
Review 30:Not a bad thing, but breakfast at 16 euros sounded a bit too expensive, especially considering there are several small cafes and restaurants in the immediate area where 5 euros will buy you juice, coffee and a couple of pastries.
Review 31:I rarely have high expectations from a railway hotel but this one was a pleasant surprise. Located immediately opposite the Guillemins train station the location was ideal for my requirements and had the added bonus of a good selection of local bars, restaurants and shops all within minutes walk. The hotel is actually quite classy and my room was spacious, modernly-decorated and furnished, and a nice big, comfortable bed. Having a bath in my ensuite facilities was a definite plus. Although slightly out of the city centre there are regular buses from just outside the hotel door, and of course the railway station is just across the road. Slightly more expensive than I'd have preferred but no complaints and so overall good value for money.
Review 32:In our room (101) it was very hot and it was not possible to open the window due to location close to the internal patio and in addition air conditioner was turned off during our stay.
Review 33:Excellent location near to the train station and about 15-20 minutes walk from city center. Very comfortable bed with one big mattress.
Review 34:it looked a little bit like a construction site and need more choice for breakfast
Review 35:Like the rooms and location as I did LBL sportive and very good service
Review 36:The lack of a non slip mat in the shower is definitely a minus point. Also no hand wash basin in the separate toilet seemed strange.
Review 37:The room was far larger and better furnished than we had expected for the price. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and definitely expect to use it again.
Review 38:The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment which means a lot of it is blocked off and there are painters everywhere. It is close to the main train station in Liege, but almost 2 kilometres from the City Centre.
Review 39:The hotel has good wifi
Review 40:Too much noise, I woke up during the night two or three times because of the noise around. No water in the shower in the morning, I had to call the staff to find a solution after putting shower gel on my body...
Review 41:The staff, the breakfast, the location, next to the train station and the accessibility.
Review 42:This was our third visit and we will go again. The staff are extremely pleasant and very efficient. It is opposite the station and as we were doing several train journeys it was very easy. Our room was very quiet There are many restaurants to choose from in the vicinity.
Review 43:not a bad experience as we didn't have it but the breakfast is a little expensive,at 16 euros, plenty of food available at a better price in the station right opposite or in the mini market attached to the station
Review 44:don't be put off by the outside view of the hotel, inside it is a well converted old building, the rooms are a good size with,as well as the beds, adequate furniture;the room we had ,on the side of the building was very quiet with no street noise at all;staff were all very helpful and polite...a great location for visiting Liege and travel further afield, room excellent value for the money paid.
Review 45:Hot breakfast items were not very hot. Better warming facility would benefit.
Review 46:Location of hotel. Room size, cleanliness of both room and general areas of hotel. Comfortable stay, good facilities. Helpful staff with local area knowledge.
Review 47:No toothbrush, no toothpaste, no refrigerator and breakfast really expensive.
Review 48:Chocolates and a bottle of water in the room, also water cooker and coffee and thee.
Review 49:Poor quality toiletries and towels and silly sinks. Breakfast room looked very in appealing so didn't try.
Review 50:Perfect location for station and buses. Lovely big room. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 51:can't think of anything
Review 52:All our requests were taken into consideration (bed type, quiet room) spacious room (more than what you'd expect from a 3 star hotel) convenient location next to the station, but not noisy quiet air conditioning & perfect room temperature
Review 53:price / quality for the breakfast: Bad juice, bad coffee, limited choice. Compareable hotels offer better quality for 12 or 14 EUR instead of 16!! Parking prices in Liege are ridiculous. I paid more than 17 EUR for one night in the nearest parking garage.
Review 54:Rooms are spacious and very clean.
Review 55:Staff very friendly and helpful. Great communication with the hotel via email when updating on travel plans due to delays in Dover. Good, plentiful breakfast. Great location for the station with a 20 minute walk to the old town.
Review 56:The view out of the room was not nice but the curtains provide help ;-)
Review 57:The hotel is located at the train station. About 20 minute walking distance from the city centre. Little Cafes nearby where great, really friendly people!
Review 58:Unloading luggage from the car - hard to find a parking space outside the hotel. Breakfast - bad orange juice from a machine leaves sludge at bottom of glass - we ended up getting juice from the bar instead. One of the beds sagged at one end.
Review 59:Location - great for getting in and out of Liege, or from the station. Because we were staying more than one night, they offer an eco card which allowed us to exchange maid service for one day for a 5 euro voucher to use in the bar. This is a great policy, and we would like to see it in more hotels. We don't find maid service necessary every day. Local restaurant - Concordia is wonderful, and only 2 minutes walk - local food, great selection, amazing sauces. Very helpful staff.
Review 60:The location is good for those arriving by train, and plenty of buses go to the town centre. I was surprised to find that kettles were provided in the rooms as I am sure they were not when I stayed there before several years ago. I don't think this was mentined on the website when I booked, and if I had known I would not have needed to take my own.
Review 61:We changed room for one with a bath but unfortunately room 461 was noisy . Had we stayed in our original room which faced inner courtyard we would not have experienced the street noise.
Review 62:Hotel 20min walk to centre, or catch buses 1 or 4 just outside. Hotel a few mins from train station with lots of local restaurants nearby which served good food. Plenty of variety for breakfast in hotel , staff very helpful and knowledgable .really enjoyed our stay.
Review 63:The newly renovated bathroom had a design flaw that left water all over the counter near the sink if the water was on more than a trickle.
Review 64:Quiet hotel room with a great bed and close to amenities like laundromat, grocery, and a few good eateries. Public transportation is easily accessible directly across the road. It's only a few minutes by bus to downtown Liége.
Review 65:Temporary parking area is just available for 2 cars. The street outside is very busy. We have to park our car in the right place about 5 minutes by walk and take our lagguages with us to check-in.
Review 66:Wifi is fast and free of charge. Breakfast is also good.
Review 67:It didn't bother us (in fact in rather added to the atmosphere of the area) but the proximity to the local red light area might put some guests off. The bars were a bit rougher and less "touristy" than others nearer the centre, but it suited us to sample the local atmosphere (but not the goods!)
Review 68:Comfortable and clean rooms; very quiet despite being on busy street opposite main rail station. Friendly and helpful staff. Good wi-fi. Excellent good value car parking very close and very accessible. Would stay there again.
Review 69:Room are very small size, no service room like bring u a water or food if you need .? You most to go market to buy any things. Room dont have a fraizer .
Review 70:Hotel near station and clean.
Review 71:Basin and tap combination didn't work well. Bed too soft. A good 20 minutes to walk to city centre.
Review 72:Position opposite the station with plenty of local shops and cheap restaurants. Parking very secure. Very quiet.
Review 73:Toaster at breakfast was very slow!
Review 74:Excellent location next to main railway station, and frequent buses into Liege centre. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
Review 75:Not many resturants close by apart from the odd bar or kebab place.
Review 76:Location - can't get much closer to the main station. Supermarket across the street in the station. Staff were friendly.
Review 77:Location of the hotel is in a depressed part of town - lots of bars, clubs, casinos in the area with many questionable people wandering around (some drunk). Many of the surrounding stores were vacant and in bad repair. Sidewalks were filthy with dog feces. Not a nice area at all and we didn't feel safe walking.
Review 78:Bed was comfortable Room was clean Room was quiet WiFi worked well
Review 79:The bathroom could have some shelves or places to put clothes and other things like shaver, creams, etc.
Review 80:Great location. Within walking distance from the historical center, stores, and restaurants; and right in front of the train station. The staff was helpful, the room was rather big and clean. For a quick stay in Liège, this hotel is definitely a great option.
Review 81:Bit noisy next to the station. Shower flow was a little weak. Very expensive breakfast (which we didn't try).
Review 82:Good location next to the train and bus station. Pleasant, helpful reception staff who spoke good English. Comfortable, clean room with free WiFi and safe.
Review 83:Quite a walk into Centre if that's where you want to go but there are buses. Breakfast was expensive in hotel but there is a supermarket opposite and also cafes.
Review 84:Good location close to train station. Very comfortable big beds but the pillows were small and lumpy. Spotlessly clean, helpful staff. Don't be put off by scruffy appearance of neighbouring properties - the hotel is a little haven. Liege is pretty much like this throughout.
Review 85:Not much quality food to eat in the local area
Review 86:Friendly and very helpful staff, location is perfect across from the train station, rooms were modern and clean, bed was very comfortable and one nice restaurant at the train station
Review 87:They should have a restaurant for food
Review 88:The room is made in a record time, service is there 24/7, the staff very jolly and could speak english well.
Review 89:It might be easy to miss the hotel entrance - located in-between restaurants / cafes.
Review 90:Convenient location, opposite the station. Pleasant staff at reception, room well furnished, very clean. Buffet breakfast was fine.
Review 91:Wash basin tap was positoned in the wrong place making it diffciult to control the water. Shower also leaked everywhere. Expensive for what it was.
Review 92:Staff helpful and friendly. Recommended a great restaurant around the corner - Le Concordia. Clean and tiday and comfy bed. Great location if you are travelling to GP as right next to the station.
Review 93:Nothing
Review 94:Proximity to the rail station was excellent. Room was a fair size with a decent sized bathroom. First floor courtyard was a nice touch and pleasant place to have drinks from the bar. Really friendly helpful staff
Review 95:The room was a little cold & the bathroom tap only just reached over the basin but that's being picky. The room was quite expensive but that's probably just due to the F1
Review 96:Perfect location to the main station for out of city trips & buses into town right in front of the hotel. Room was big, shower good & coffee making facilities. We were there for the F1 race at Spa & the hotel offered a shuttle service (at a cost) which made getting to & from the race very very easy.
Review 97:Despite all the positives, felt our stay and extras (hotel transfers, food etc) were over priced.
Review 98:(1) The staff! Could not have been more helpful. Staff members directed us about the town, and were extremely helpful in helping us make arrangements to get to Francorchamps. They also helped us make plans for breakfast and liaised with Husa Brussels to give us somewhere to leave our luggage for a day sightseeing. The hotel staff were excellent; polite and helpful and really made out trip. (2) Also, the location is excellent. Immediately by the main station (with great links) and close by a supermarket and several great restaurants. (3) Standards throughout, very high.
Review 99:On both days the room was not finished by midday and on the 2nd day we had returned earlier than expected due to the weather and the room was still not made up at around 3pm. It was another 30 mins after asking before they came to make up the room. The room layout was odd because the dividing wall was in the wrong place so the bathroom was nearly as big as the room and because of that the room was cramped. small and the bathroom had wasted space in it.
Review 100:This is the second time we have stayed here and on both the early breakfast that was laid on for the cyclists on the Saturday was very welcome. The fact I could keep my bike safely in my room all weekend. The desk staff were very helpful with information when asked.
Review 101:- the French window (from the floor to the ceiling) in the room on the 2nd floor opened completely, and there was only a metal bar at the hight of an adult's chest to prevent you from falling out of the window. This is dangerous if one is traveling with a small child.
Review 102:- room design - delicious breakfast - friendly staff - the staff offered to keep our bikes in the luggage room, which was very good given bike theft problems near the main train station.
Review 103:The bear bar
Review 104:No parking and quite a distance from main central area.
Review 105:The hotel is very near to the station, but a bit far from the city centre.
Review 106:Great location - very close to the station (we were travelling by train) but really quiet. Comfortable room and bed, helpful staff.
Review 107:Very nice bath
Review 108:No garden or balcony. Cleaning staff were a little surly.
Review 109:Friendly, clean, efficient, good price vs quality and location.
Review 110:Waterproof mattress cover made the bed hot and uncomfortable.
Review 111:Convenient to the station.
Review 112:there is no room service
Review 113:breakfast could be improved
Review 114:good place to stay practical friendly clean and comfortable
Review 115:good comfortable and practical
Review 116:everything
Review 117:near the station
Review 118:location friendliness of staff
Review 119:The staff are superb, generous sized beds in lovely large rooms. This time I had a front facing room too. Marvellous!
Review 120:Very poor wifi.
Review 121:Overall quality of the room, big and new bathroom.
Review 122:No attractions around.
Review 123:The location is excellent!
Review 124:Very clean, very friendly, lovely hotel
Review 125:Rooms are getting old, especially the bathroom, ie taps, shover...
Review 126:Friendly staff, good location.
Review 127:Crowded breakfast room due to groups.
Review 128:Location and charging for parking
Review 129:Quite and clean and comfortable.
