Reviews for Sibonne Beach Hotel
Review 1:Nothing to dislike, just know that this is a no frills budget choice.
Review 2:Fantastic location and beachfront, comfortable room. This hotel met all our basic needs at a good price point for an expensive island.
Review 3:I would like to see the showers cleaner.
Review 4:I liked the hotel because it is a small boutique property. All rooms are with views of the beach. This hotel has rooms that are closest to the beach on the island. Do not expect a new hotel but the outdoor restaurant for day and evening is terrific along with the beach lounges is great! Room terraces are great also.
Review 5:I experienced some unhappy people that seemed to never smile but that's goes with any place you go to, a lovely lady in the evening was the best as she always smiled, the gardener Alex was super and amazing. Wifi was really slow but maybe thats a good thing. No night security, I felt uneasy at first being our door faces the parking lot where it is also a public beach access but after a couple of days I was comfortable. I noticed that there was a couple of people who were using the chairs and umbrellas that didn't stay at Sibonne but because it was busy it didn't affect any guests but in the high season it might be an issue. Also, if you like music, this is not the place, its quiet and pure relaxation, which was great for us.
Review 6:We loved that it was right on the beach. All rooms has a view of the beach once you walked out the patio door. We were on the first floor and could still see it. It is a great location for the money. Also loved that it was a smaller place so not much walking as my husband has trouble walking far. Great restaurant onsite with ocean view, reasonable price too. Walking distance to other restaurants on the beach. Exclusions also available next to this place. Shooter rental place also down the road. Also, we went to tour the island and Sibonne also provided us with an umbrella to use. The place was cleaned in our room no bugs or ants. We rented a car because of my husband can't walk far but you can walk into town which would take 15 mins. Taxi is $20 roundtrip to the IGA to get groceries if you need to. Also plenty of huts and chairs so we never had to rush to save them. It is truly a great place that's right on the beach.
Review 7:Loved how quiet and cozy this hotel was. We were separate from the loud, busy Resorts but were still able to walk a few yards down the beach to do some fun water sports. Value was amazing for the price. Not a luxurious hotel, but was clean, great AC, nice staff. We woke up every morning, had coffee and breakfast and walked a few feet to the gorgeous private beach. The restaurant on-site was romantic and served great food. Turks and Caicos is beyond beautiful, and Sibonne was the perfect hideaway. We were very close to town and a lot of other great restaurants on the island. We planned 3 days and ended up extending to 5 days because we didn't want to leave!
Review 8:The coffee needs to be improved. I would far rather have one americano in the morning than an entire thermos of coffee that tastes awful. Adding oatmeal to the breakfast menu would be good too.
Review 9:Fantastic location, good restaurant, affordable and simple. You pay for a room with a bed and thats what you get.
Review 10:internet connection poor, if u need to telecommute to work, will be frustrated
Review 11:small and cozy hotel 50 yards from the water, not crowded, very reasonably priced for waterfront excellent location
Review 12:The furniture in the rooms was tropical in look, but broken-down a bit and less than smoothly functional. There was wasted space in the room where hooks or coat trees could have been placed for more hanging of clothes/towels.
Review 13:I liked the small size and great location to everything in Grace Bay. Gardens on the property are lush and well maintained. One of the best restaurants on the island, Bay Bistro, is located on the hotel property. You are right on the beach, yet no crowds as in other properties. Personal patio/porch wonderful.
Review 14:Strange arrangement where the restaurant in the hotel is not part of the hotel, so separate billing, which once I worked it out was OK. Receptionist was a little lacking in cordiality...
Review 15:Great location on the beach with excellent restaurant, great food and romantic beach front location. I am planning a return trip... Restaurant staff very nice and worked hard to deliver great service.
Review 16:The "ocean view" from the second floor rooms was not quite what I was expecting. Your window looks out onto the courtyard (which is very pretty) and you have to actually go out on the balcony and turn to see the ocean, plus the visibility is somewhat blocked by palm trees. That said, within 30 seconds of leaving your room, you're actually on the beach, so it's not that big of a deal. In sum, it is nice to have the balcony, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra cost. I recommend purchasing snorkel equipment back home for $10 at Walmart or Target, because Sibonne does not provide this, unlike some other hotels.
Review 17:If you want an affordable option smack dab on the beach, stop looking right now and book here! My cousin and I were looking for a room with 2 beds for our trip to Providenciales for another cousin's wedding. Sibonne was by far the cheapest option on the beach for the 2 of us (although if you're traveling alone, I don't know that it's all that much cheaper than other hotels). Based on other reviews, I was not expecting to love the place. However, Sibonne exceeded all of my expectations. Our air conditioner worked EXCEPTIONALLY well and was not loud at all (if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs; it's common sense); my bed was super comfortable and I slept great. I also loved that the place had a really relaxed feel and had mainly an adult crowd (not many screaming, crying kids). The beach chairs were all very comfortable and in great condition (I think they must be new) and there were always some available. There are even two hammocks by the pool if you're looking for a different way to relax. My sister stayed 2 mins up the beach at the Sands, and their beach was always packed with children and all of the chairs were taken. (Besides, if you really want to swim at the Sands' pool, you can just walk right up and swim there! There's no regulation.) The restaurant was a perfect, convenient option. I highly recommend the breakfast tart + Bloody Mary from the Sat/Sun brunch menu! Plus, you won't find an oceanfront hotel restaurant with a better view. The beach towels (disparaged by other reviewers) are perfectly fine and serve their purpose. If you want a big, fluffy beach towel, just bring one! If I return to Turks and Caicos and am looking to split a room with a friend or family member, I will stay here again without question.
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:Lovely location staff friendly and helpful. Food and accommodation good
Review 20:The room was full of mosquitos and had a horrible odor. Outside landscaping was in DESPERATE need of trimming.
Review 21:Location, informality and food.
Review 22:The WiFi was very slow during peak hour use, need more towels in the room
Review 23:The proximity to the beach and the restaurant
Review 24:Restaurant
Review 25:Great location and a really nice boutique hotel. The restaurant though not the hotel's own was absolutely fantastic - food and service was great.
Review 26:The staff could try harder in making guests feel welcome.
Review 27:Easy access to the beach. Very clean and quiet.
Review 28:beds are horrible...be forewarned
Review 29:location
Review 30:Too close to neighboring rooms,
Review 31:Great location
Review 32:Some staff not helpful Room not as clean as we would like Rooms need updating
Review 33:View Location Comfort of Bed Balcony
Review 34:Affordable no frills hotel on Grace Bay Beach.
Review 35:The hotel's receptionist (I believe her name was Tracey) was so incredibly friendly and professional. Also their on-site handyman was fantastic. He was even able to find a power adapter for my UK electronics. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends and co-workers.
Review 36:The hotel only had one set of towels for our room. We had to wait for housekeeping to wash the towels before giving them back each day. It was both odd and inconvenient.
Review 37:This was my second stay here. It is a good value for the money and the location can't be beat. The air conditioner works well and the bed was comfortable. Since we occupied one of the less desirable rooms during our stay, we were allowed a late checkout.
Review 38:The room smelled musty, the air conditioning never seemed cool enough atnight, and for the price it would have been nice to have more amenities:beach bbq, welcome cocktail for guests, free pass(es) to other hotelwith gym/lap pool.
Review 39:The hotel was within walking distance of the main shopping center andmany restaurants. The hotel pool and beach were just steps from my room, and beach chairs/towels/umbrellas were readily available.
Review 40:beach towels were a bit thin, and some beach chairs were broken. SOME at the reception desk were not very personable, and you felt like you were bothering them.
Review 41:location on the beach top notch! value for the money. great bay bistro. General managers so kind, and helpful. Already booked for next year.. :)
Review 42:I have stayed on the island before and I am a fan of the Bay Bistro and always wanted to stay at the Sibonne. It worked perfectly for me. The hotel is quiet, comfortable and best of all on the beach. I loved that I can go downstairs and find high level dining. But not only that I had the choice of other walkable(beach accessible) options close by.
Review 43:Small biting insects on the grounds and in our room. Woke up in the morning with dozens of bites. Buildings are old. It was obvious that our room had been broken in to before as the lock and door had both been repaired with sheet metal and screws.
Review 44:Restaurant was good and the location on the beach was nice.
Review 45:The "Old World" charm of the hotel matches its fabulous location. All the rooms are excellent as was the attached Bay Bistro. Don't go there if you want a 5 star gulag holiday but do use it if you want a real TCI experience.
Review 46:We had booked a ocean view room and what we got was view of water not more than you can see in a wash basin...rooms are small and seriously disappointing..
Review 47:Only the fact that it is close to grace bay beach
Review 48:Could have better beach towels Would like if they sold bottled drinks, bottles of water, soda, Gatorade, etc...- nowhere on the grounds to but bottled drinks
Review 49:Sweet, low key, island vibe, small, extremely budget friendly hotel, great location
Review 50:They desparately need new beach towels - otherwise everything was great!
Review 51:Location, location, location, 3rd stay there and very pleased.Room was comfortable and clean. Bay Bistro restaurant excellent as ever too! Can walk to other beach restaurants at night and still feel safe!
Review 52:Beach towels were way past due!!! Some had holes in them!! Towels inroom were replaced with same ones- they just got washed!!! Only didthat once!!!
Review 53:That we were right on the beach
Review 54:It would be nice if the Sibonne had some water sports equipment, likekayaks, sailboats, and snorkeling gear. Also, it's a bit of a walkto the nearest store for staples, but a necessity because you can'tpurchase those items on or near the property.
Review 55:The Sibonne is a cute, comfortable, quiet boutique hotel. The locationis perfect and the staff is appropriately helpful. We were hesitant tostay at first, because of it's minimalist reputation, but we weredelighted with our choice.
Review 56:Front desk staff was not always as friendly or helpful as we would haveliked. Towels, beach chairs and beach umbrellas need to be replaced orat least better cared for. Telephone message service was out of orderfor most of our stay.
Review 57:An old retro type 2 story motel steps from Grace Bay with a fullservice, excellent island restaurant attached. Bare bones in termsof amneities yet still a very charming island setting at areasonable price!
Review 58:I had to sleep on a roll away bed instead of 2 queen beds in our room due to a booking issue.
Review 59:Clean, excellent location decent size room and bathroom. Beautiful beach
Review 60:Everything!!!!
Review 61:Noisy air conditioners outside all rooms. Bed was broken and uncomfortable. Room was a little dingy.
Review 62:Location was excellent. Price was reasonable.
Review 63:Some lounges over the hill.
Review 64:Price and location. Plus good restaurant, Bay Bistro on property.
Review 65:Grumpiness of most staff The restaurant is a separate business but was full of grumpiness and overpriced food
Review 66:Good location by the beach
Review 67:Ocean wiew is not really ocean wiew, rooms are too close to eachother, beach towell awful
Review 68:Beach location restaurant excellent
Review 69:No 24hours concierge. Front desk closes at 10pm and opens at 8am.
