Reviews for University Inn Corvallis
Review 1:The only thing I felt uncomfortable with was the homeless people hanging out in the alley in front of the rooms. But no issues. Corvallis is relative safe.
Review 2:Clean, fairly quiet, friendly staff. Fair price!
Review 3:Staying in the building closest to the street can be noisy. Also, the heater in that room was malfunctioning. After one pretty sleepless night, we asked to be switched to a room in the adjacent building, which had a newer heater and was further from the street. We had a much nicer stay after the move.
Review 4:It is a great value for the money. The rooms are always spotless and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 5:Liked the location of this establishment. Right next door to a restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful in explaining where and how we needed to go to get to an appointment in another town. Printed map and directions for us with the best route to take.
Review 6:Our phone GPS sent us to the wrong direction so make sure you ask for directions and not use GPS or you will be on the other side of 4th street.
Review 7:The room was very clean. I usually worry about hotel beds but I was very confident that this was clean.
Review 8:Tiny bathroom with low shower head. Door lock would not work upon arrival.
Review 9:Downtown with restaurant and gas station right there. One amazing pillow. Value!
Review 10:The place is old and the light fixtures are inconsistent about turning on. There are no cooking utensils and pots or dinnerware in the kitchen (but the microwave and refrigerator work well.)
Review 11:Close to downtown just a block from the supermarket in a walkable neighborhood. There is a view of a beautiful historic home from the dining room window in this spacious apartment. The area is surprisingly quiet for sleeping and there is plenty of hot water for showering.
Review 12:Not much, but beds are a bit firm for me
Review 13:downtown close to things and OSU campus is close by. I like these older places, lots of room, love seat for resting/reading
Review 14:Very friendly service, accommodated our dog without issue. Very comfortable rooms with good amenities (the bathroom and bed were especially nice). We got more than we were expecting for the price. Very close to beautiful downtown Corvallis.
Review 15:The toilet bowl was leaking, and the in-room coffee was terrible.
Review 16:The location. The diner/bar out front was great and we were in walking distance to everything.
Review 17:The proximity to the OSU campus was a real plus -- a 15-minute walk eliminates the need for driving. The hotel is an older facility, but the room was super clean and the bathroom recently updated. The hotel owners obviously take pride in their property; it's not fancy, but the price is great and the room met my needs. A variety of restaurants are within easy walking distance. I plan to return on future visits!
Review 18:When I checked in, I found that my room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator. I have a bum foot! Immediately upgraded to a king on the first floor. With a smile! Exceptionally clean, also!
Review 19:Cable on tv would go in out. I had to wiggle wires to fix it. WiFi didn't work on my last day. Doubleing the room rates on weekends.
Review 20:Location and cleanliness.
Review 21:The property is old and needs a total upgrade. It's a motel and not an "inn", whatever that term means. I asked to change my initial room as it was small and tucked into a dark coener of the property. The subsequent room as well as my initial room smelled terribly like cleaning products.
Review 22:It's location is in the heart of downtown Corvallis and a very short distance to the university which was what I wanted.
Review 23:Our room kind of smelled like cats. We also were charged $10 for late check-out, which is fine but not very well informed before. The Internet and TV didn't work either, but they were free.
Review 24:Very friendly staff with outstanding customer service. Easy check-in and close parking.
Review 25:The overall feel, right by a gas station and behind an alley, make it feel a bit dingy. Nothing actually wrong with the facility, it just had a bit of dark and run down aura because of immediate surroundings. But it was OK as a place to sleep.
Review 26:Centrality of the location by downtown was nice, the cleanliness was good.
Review 27:One of the pictures on the wall was mounted very, very crooked.
Review 28:The Staff was friendly and helpful! The bathroom area of the room seemed to have been recently updated and was clean.
Review 29:Motel is basic although bathroom and bed updated. Nothing fancy and I think the weekend rate is a little high for what you get. Was noisy one morning.
Review 30:Location to downtown and osu. Also next to restaurant. Friendly staff.
Review 31:Not so much that I didn't like it, but motel is a little older; door to room was a little difficult to secure. For the price, it was fine. Booked it under Town House Motor Inn, but by the time we got there, it was renamed University Inn. GPS-ed the address, though, so it was ok.
Review 32:Staff was really friendly, close to OSU campus, easy to get to, lots of parking.
Review 33:No internet service at all. First room they put us in smelled very musty.
Review 34:Close to university. They did move us to a new room when we couldn't stay in the first room due to the smell.
Review 35:Originally booked a room for 3 with 2 beds - arrived to find only 1 bed.Staff was polite, but certainly didn't go overboard to help us out.Ended up making a pallet on the floor for our 3rd person.
Review 36:The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. TV/cable power outletwas flaky, which I reported. Awakened early due to noise from therestaurant right outside our room.
Review 37:Just the same thing I dislike at all motels which is ck in times r late and ck out times are early
Review 38:It's was wonderful to have access to everywhere in town by walking. Very relaxing visit!
Review 39:2 night Min Stay on the Weekends starting Saturday makes it a no go for Saturday games.
Review 40:It is very close to the OSU Campus. We were there for a Football game so it was great. Tommy's 4th Street is in the same parking lot, need I say more.
Review 41:I have stayed at several motels in downtown Corvallis and this was my first stay at this motel. Check-in was really quick as the night clerk had my reservation and keys ready when i walked in the door. i was the last person to check in that night and expected to find it difficult to park, but this wasn't the case as i found a nice parking spot next to a stairway. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and how comfortable the bed was. The location is also a few blocks to Corvallis brew pubs! I will likely forego booking at the newer and more expensive motels in the area and choose to stay here again.
Review 42:Shower hard to adjust the temp. Toilet leaked & water would run off & on. Found ants in unit & reported that.
Review 43:Location, price (we're retired) & comfortable bed.
Review 44:The alley that the transiet travel, which neighbors the office and the parking. The room windows face the parking lot.
Review 45:The staff is friend, a lot of stuff in walking distance, great rate, comfortable rooms and facility's.
Review 46:Under renovations and internet not consistent at all - room to room(we moved twice) - also booking.com much cheaper than booking directwith hotel!!!!
Review 47:Room 331 was nice. That building was much better.
Review 48:Faorly ancient, threadbare carpet and early 80s decor. But agaun, functional and clean!
Review 49:The young man at the desk was so helpful - even changing my room location (at his suggestion to a quieter spot, since he knew I'd be sleeping during the day. The room, though extremely dated and a bit worn, was clean and functional. All the standard stuff provided - coffeemaker, microwave, hairdryer, shampoo, etc. The exterior has kinda of a cool 60s vibe.
Review 50:Poor wifi connection, drops very often. Small room with little ventilation besides the air conditioner.
Review 51:Great location. Close to downtown and could take an easy walk to the riverside.
Review 52:The central location near cafes, restaurants, the park on the Willamette made this the perfect place for me while I was looking for a place to live. The price was right too.
Review 53:The original mix-up with the room having no microwave/refrigerator. No breakfast is offered. Several homeless people and college kids hang out near the hotel, which makes it a little uncomfortable.
Review 54:The staff was great! I was originally put in a room on the third floor with no microwave or kitchen; I had specifically made sure I ordered a room with those items since I would be staying seven nights, and once I informed the front desk of the issue, they did their best to find me a different room. The next day, I was moved to another room on the ground floor, and the front desk attendant actually came to my room and helped me move my things, apologizing for the inconvenience. Very friendly.
Review 55:The bed was absolutely awful - would prevent us from staying again in the future. Entire room looked tired.
Review 56:Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and had great ideas of local places to eat. When we wanted to change to a ground floor, they immediately found one.
Review 57:Chair was broken, air conditioner worked poorly and wifi was not connecting. Parking lot too cramped vehicles blocked my car doors.
Review 58:Corvallis next to stores like Safeway and Starbucks. Nice park by the river.
Review 59:Air conditioner was load in the room.
Review 60:Our room has been renovated. Loved the HOT HOT water and refrigerator in the room! Maid service daily. Wonderful front desk staff.
Review 61:Wifi is terrible, crackheads arguing in front of my door, would only issue 1 key for 2 people which is their policy, beds suck and electrical outlets don't all work. Other then that had a great stay!
Review 62:Staff was nice, considering the hurdles they had.
Review 63:We had screaming children next door at 11pm. Called the front desk and they handled it. Then we weren't told that the construction excess of toilets, sinks and lamps would be dumped outside our room during our stay. We had homeless rummaging through the pile and breaking glass at 3am. Again the front desk took care of it but since they were aware construction was going to happen I would have thought they'd give us a room away from it but no.
Review 64:For an old motel, it was very clean
Review 65:There weren't enough electrical plugs in room. 1 plug to share with microwave and coffee maker. Had to unplug one to use the other. Wifi worked sometimes and sometimes it didn't. I had to take down router to reboot.
Review 66:Room was very clean and quite. Location was great with many coffee and food establishments close by. I recommend Tommy's 4th st. restaurant that is attached to motel. Very good food and service.
Review 67:Reviews of other guest that complain on safety and the 3 locks on the door. We did not feel unsafe at all. And please note that most hotels/motels use the 3-locks system, just to be sure.
Review 68:Downtown location. Spacious room woth all facilities needed fior a single night stay. Clean. Dinner, go to the Block 15 brewery restaurant. Good food, nice atmosphere!
Review 69:The wifi was spotty but the huge flat screen tv had cable so no problem. If I had had to work it would have been bad.
Review 70:The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We arrived very late for check in but the staff was available, helpful and cheerful. Restaurant attached with wonderful staff.
Review 71:Even though there were few other visitors, I ended up in a back room with a view of a wall. Room was much smaller than expected but adequate for one.
Review 72:The price through Booking.com.
Review 73:Does need some updating but then it wouldn't be the value it is now.
Review 74:Stayed 2 nights. The place is older but very clean. Location is great for anything you want to do in Corvallis or at OSU. Can walk everywhere. No breakfast but in less than 5 minutes you can walk to every restaurant downtown offers.
Review 75:Room smelled moldy; wifi was slow or did not work at all; not a very good value compared to other places have stayed in Oregon.
Review 76:Staff was very friendly
Review 77:The locations is awesome. You can walk to many restaurants and breweries. This is a cheap hotel, so the room is not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable.
Review 78:The price and location close to OSU campus. My daughter and I toured OSU during spring break and it was quite convenient with all amenities of Corvallis being real close to our Room. The attached restaurant served great food and was affordable. Thanks for everything.
Review 79:Reasonable price for a clean downtown motel just a 25-minute walk from Beaver football, baseball or basketball. Long-time owners have kept it fresher and better furnished each year.
Review 80:The toilet plugged up. There was no space in the bathroom (counter space) to put necessaries.
Review 81:It was quiet.I was glad for the greasy spoon next door, so I could grab something to eat before I left for the evening. The price was O.K., though it should have been less considering that I went there to sleep and was unable to sleep on that hard mattress with springs poking me.
Review 82:Could not adjust shower- was not able to complete a shower- got scalded!!! Then frozen..... Noise in the parking lot till late at night. Too close to main drag....
Review 83:Location
Review 84:Lighting was harsh and did not fill the room (outdoor patio light?! for main light)
Review 85:Great price Good location- walking distance of local eateries and events Quiet (non-game weekend) Easy check-in and out TV and wifi was easy to use
Review 86:There really wasn't anything I didn't like.
Review 87:I would stay there again. Pretty good central location, room was comfortable. As quiet as could be expected for being right downtown on the main drag. No complaints there.
Review 88:Location relative to my itinierary and shopping was great. Room was comfortable. Did not use WiFi, but it was available. Cost was a good value for the price.
Review 89:Sometimes loud due to nightrunning trains (signal horns) and garbage collection. Coffee and tea were supplied but when tea runs to empty no refill happened (but I did not ask for new)
Review 90:The motel was clean and situated close to restaurants and shops. The price to performance relation was good.
Review 91:I love the location of the hotel and the amenities and bed were wonderful! It was a great hotel for the price! Would recommend it to any of my friends and family
Review 92:My wife woke up with a stiff back A/C is loud, but room got stuff without it.
Review 93:good price. Easy to get to once one figures out the one-way streets
Review 94:Vagrants yelling in the street at night, can't be controlled however.
Review 95:We were in Eugene for a shopping trip and had no luck finding a hotel anywhere because of the game, we drove to Corvallis to this hotel and we are very happy we did. Quiet, comfy and quick.....we will be back again.
Review 96:wifi wasn't great, but not a big deal.
Review 97:This is an older motel but worked for us. Was just a few blocks from OSU and walking distance to some good restaurants.
Review 98:The biggest problem was that someone with a huge orange truck decided to run their motor during the night right outside our bedroom. So inconsiderate!
Review 99:My friend and I enjoyed our stay at the Towne House Motor Inn. The staff were friendly and professional, the room immaculate, and the beds very comfortable. My friend was recovering from a recent back surgery and found that she slept better there than at home!
Review 100:No alarm clock in the room and the lighting is a little dim. Also, on this trip, the Wi-Fi internet access was not working. Very minor issues from a very satisfied customer.
Review 101:Love the location, the cleanliness and the staff. Oh.. and the price can't be beat. We ALWAYS stay here on any OSU-related trips. This was visit number 7 or 8 in the last two years.
Review 102:The hotel was empty. It might be noisy during the school year when there are lots of guests.
Review 103:Extremely Clean Awesome Location Friendly, Fast Front Desk New carpet, tile and bathroom counter
Review 104:The door was sticky, TV remote was not working well
Review 105:Great location, right downtown, easy to find, good shower, very quiet, within walking of river and college and shopping
Review 106:This is a wonderful hotel to stay in the lower price range for the area. I felt the price, service, and value were perfectly inline. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The location is perfect!
Review 107:The room was very hot, which made it difficult to sleep. The AC unit is quite old, so it is noisy.
Review 108:Walking proximity to bookstores, cafes, restaurants, and local shops. Very clean and bed was comfortable.
Review 109:Was a little spendy , but was in a desperate situation and needed a room
Review 110:Staff was very nice,we were grateful to even find a room, was very clean and met our needs
Review 111:Property and furnishings are a bit dated and rooms are dark but for the price it is an excellent deal
Review 112:Hotel is right downtown, close to all restaurants. In spite of its age, rooms are well maintained and spotless. I'm a neat freak and could not find moldy corners in the bathroom or ripped up carpeting one would expect in a 1960s vintage motel building.
Review 113:That I couldn't stay longer
Review 114:Everything was great The motel is very well taken care of and the staff is helpful and friendly This is not a bogus person I think this place deserves all the Kudos it can get The price for 3 nights was so low you would think "rat trap" but no it was the best value ever!!
Review 115:Very small shower/commode space - not for the claustrophobic. Only one bathroom sink in a room for two. Sheets were worn to almost threadbare in spots. Pillows were very small.
Review 116:The cost for 4 nights for 2 separate beds was $330 including tax. Very competitive price for the area. Beds were firm and comfortable. Housekeeping service was modest but thorough.
Review 117:Orange colored walls and shades, low wattage light bulbs, slow wifi, no fancy decor, no gym/pool
Review 118:Exceptionally clean, better than a lot of expensive hotels. Comfortable, clean linens and towels.
Review 119:At first, it looked like it was just behind a gas station. This, however, was not a problem. Very quiet. Inexpensive.
Review 120:The room was very clean, although not the most updated. It was very quiet at night. The air conditioning worked well. Just around the corner was a historic neighborhood, good for evening strolls. I would stay here again.
Review 121:I suggest that one of little closets be converted to a coffee/fridge/microwave spot.
Review 122:The owner has obviously invested a few $ to upgrade this motel. A few more easy things I hope are planned. Overall a very good place to stop overnight or short stays.
Review 123:The cable was funky, it kept flicking in and out.
Review 124:They got me into my room before the normal check in time. I arrived at 9 am, they were willing to take my bags & put them behind the counter. When I came back 3 hours later, I was assisted getting my bags to my room (my husband had dropped me off, so he could off and do another event)
Review 125:The room was awesome, way more than just an average room
Review 126:The heater was noisy
Review 127:No accesses to the in room cell, neither had success with reaching the front desk with the in room phone. Also cold drafts from time to time.
Review 128:No handicap accessible rooms. Bathroom very tiny. Cinderblock walls made it feel like a prison cell. Room very cold upon arrival.
Review 129:Location.
Review 130:nice and clean
Review 131:The noise and beds were not comfortable. They moved when you moved kind of like waterbeds. Not comfortable.
Review 132:The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Review 133:Location, in downtown and close to OSU.
