Reviews for Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites

Review 1:Have stayed twice in 3 weeks on my wife's advice - she stays on her business travel.

Review 2:The staff were friendlier and more professional than most hotels in this tier. The room was clean and quiet, and the restaurant/lounge are the real deal, not just a side-thought to try and capture more business. Price and location are fabulous for the experience.

Review 3:While it's legal in Alaska. The strong odor of marijuana isn't pleasant.wasn't smoked there, just cloying lingering smell.

Review 4:Front desk and hotel staff are friendly and engaging. Obviously trying to make the stay a great experience.

Review 5:freezing drafty one paned window, drafty freezing air conditioner portal, non existent heat, grubby grimy countertops, cigarette smoke smell in room and building and elevators, thin walls that next rooms passed the sound thru to you,non existent phone abilty in room, snails pace and constantly booted internet service although advertised as "HIGH-SPEED",Front end counter often absent of staff(although staff were excellent when there) One(#1) computer in the lobby counted as "Business centre" for entire hotel patron head count.

Review 6:the staff,the exercise room

Review 7:The lady at the breakfast counter was rude when I asked how to getbreakfast with vouchers. After getting our stuff she seemed reallypissed because I woundn't tip her (she did not deserve a tip atall). We asked the front desk to schedule a shuttle for us early in thenext morning and we were informed to be downstairs at a certain time. Inthe morning we got an unasked wake up call informing that our shuttlewould depart half hour earlier, so we had to rush everthing and otherguests ended up waiting for us in the shuttle.

Review 8:The lady that help us checking in was friendly and fast. The room had agreat view of the sunrise.

Review 9:No room service although hotel restaurant is right downstairs. In winter, room was a little cooler when it was zero degrees outside.

Review 10:Location and price.

Review 11:There was no hot water the window felt like it was open and the heater did not work at all it was freezing will never stay there again room 306 should not be rented

Review 12:The fact that they took pets

Review 13:The room overall was dark, dingy, and old. Although it certainly meets the basic needs of a room with hot shower and a bed, I feel like this hotel has avoiding updating anything for a very long time (including thin bedding and a heater that didn't work).

Review 14:The location is good for walking without having a car--to a nearby grocery/coffee shop, to downtown (<1 mile) and to other midtown shops/restaurants (<1 mile). My meal in the restaurant for dinner was pretty good and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 15:The room wasn't fully cleaned, there was a left over soap bar in the tub. And front desk was extremely rude. And also the employees aren't helpful.

Review 16:first room given to us had no bedding on the bed!! What??!! Mattress was so uncomfortable. Have stayed here before and was okay. Whole place needs some updating and cleanliness upgrading! Desk person was new and seemed confused.

Review 17:location is great...

Review 18:We loved the location and the restaurant. We are a family of four so the room was a little cozy. The room was clean and basic. No frills but the price was right. Great view.

Review 19:Street noise and dripping noise from heater.

Review 20:Location and funky decor. Nice complimentary continental breakfast. Great coffee. Restaurant is very nice, too.

Review 21:Everywhere looked a bit tired and grubby - whole place is probably due a refurb.

Review 22:Friendly helpful staff - Comfortable bed, nice view. Bar restaurant served good food by friendly staff

Review 23:We requested ADA bath facilities and thought that we would have them. There were none. We cannot function in a faccility with no ADA accommodations.

Review 24:We arrived late one day and left early the next day. Leaving was the best part.

Review 25:Poor WIFI connection, thin walls so had to buy earplugs

Review 26:Nice view, clean, friendly staff, refrigerator in room, good value for money compared to other options in Anchorage

Review 27:Really no bad experiences. Pub was a bit expensive but overall the hotel was fine

Review 28:Great views. Shuttle van was convenient. Wish it was closer to downtown.

Review 29:The internet is so poor and bad that you barley will be able to check you mails. the hotel is old fashion and the elevator is very slow.

Review 30:It's in front os a mini-market and it have a refrigerator, coffee maker and sink so you can prepare breakfast and save money. very good location if you like to walk (6 blocks from the main DT). The Restaurant of the hotel is very nice for diner and wine

Review 31:Wifi ok, but not wonderful

Review 32:Convenient distance to walk to downtown Anchorage. Free shuttle bus from airport, just ring when your plane arrives, the bus arrived in about 15 minutes

Review 33:We had not been allocated a room on arrival even though we made the initial booking 8 months prior to arrival. The hotel was in need of refurbishing. The room was shabby and the window was broken.

Review 34:I didn't think the bathtub was very clean, kinda moldy! Not in the best part of town.

Review 35:Basically, the room was nice enough. A little too pricey, though.

Review 36:Breakfast was awful

Review 37:Staff were very friendly and helpful and hotel was comfortable, situated about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Anchorage. The bar was good

Review 38:They were training a new girl at the front desk and she gave us incorrect information that cost us two hours of waisted time. Our hot water wasn't working for about an hour. Old tube TV.

Review 39:free pick up at airport

Review 40:Location close to large park, food center and water walk. It was great to have access to the computer and do boarding passes. Also a holding area for luggage once checked out of the room.

Review 41:I asked for a upper floor room 7 mo. before arriving and was given a 4th story room over looking the garbage bins. Kind of funny now :)

Review 42:The price was right! although 11 blocks from downtown - BUT - free shuttles to airport and train station all during our stay. Grocery store very close! Jacuzzi in room was a surprise!

Review 43:Pub downstairs had limited menu. For breakfast on Sunday they were out of orange and tomato juices. Food otherwise good. End of tourist season and probably catering to oil industry rotations.

Review 44:about half of price of downtown "name brand" hotels. Nice views. Excellent front desk staff. Free shuttle to airport.

Review 45:Room can use paint/updating; needs new blinds; walk-mounted tv and sleeker armoire or bureau would provide room to walk around the bed/better room flow/better aesthetics.

Review 46:Location; view; pub; cleanliness; beds; linens; staff; value All of these are great. The friendliness abd genuineness of staff was outstanding.

Review 47:No cutlery, utensils, plates or dishes in the suite which contained a fridge and microwave. So we were unable to use the microwave.A kitchenette should contain small essentials for making snacks etc.

Review 48:There was a licensed restaurant in the hotel. comfortable bed. Very roomy suite.

Review 49:Old old. The place could use a sprucing up and for the cost it seems they could work on the restrooms.

Review 50:The beds and linens are comfy and good quality. Staff is friendly.

Review 51:The bed was comfortable, but the bottom sheet wasn't fitted and slid around everywhere, quite disruptive to sleep.

Review 52:Beautiful views of Anchorage from a spacious well appointed room. The hotel was well maintained and clean. I was only here for one night, but great space for someone here for a bit longer as there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. An easy, flat 15 minute walk into the city, but a summer walk!

Review 53:The rooms and the most of the hotel are in a dire need of updating. If there is a reality show that does hotel make overs they would be a good choice.

Review 54:The rooms were a good size and the views of the city and mountains were great. The food was fine but a bit pricey. The band that played in the pub were quite good

Review 55:Shuttle bus does not meet flights even though I advised hotel of my arrival. Stood at airport for 30 minutes then rang hotel, I was informed that they would need to send the shuttle bus to me and would take another 20-25 minutes. It was cold there and I was not happy so I got a taxi!!! Hotel knew I was unhappy but they didnt seem to care.

Review 56:Limited physical appeal of room interior. Bed only adequate. Old school jacuzzi not so clean.

Review 57:Great place for a single night. Free airport shuttle. Really inexpensive.

Review 58:Estimate for shuttle pickup at train station was about 40 mins off. But shuttle to airport in am was very prompt-- didn't wait for us 3 mins even though we were on the list.

Review 59:Spacious room. Quiet.

Review 60:There was a large fish hook stuck in the carpet that I stepped on and fortunately did not get injured. The room was run down and did not feel clean.

Review 61:The pub staff was great as was the food in the pub. Blond afternoon clerk not friendly, brunette morning clerk was friendly.

Review 62:Even if I booked with 8 month in advance with request for upper store room for view, I did't receive one! I received instead (from lady receptionist on 21 aug)a room to 2 floor with the window to the parking! Plus: She didn't gave me the room wich I've booked -Queen room-she gave me one small room with two double big beds even if i was a single woman traveler. And when i insisted she tried to fool me showing me another booking paper from my company with a cancelled room, but was not my booking. Only after many discutions she agree finally to gave me the room which i've booked on 4 floor, still without view but at least the right room. Note that i'm not a regular traveler in Alaska, I'm living in Europe.

Review 63:Dirt mattress and boxspring finding empty baggies with reminiscence of what is to believe meth Sticky/greasy carpet and floor

Review 64:airport transportaion

Review 65:It is not clean, you have to ask several times to get the room vacuumed The sheets are not good qualities not iron and presents colored spots

Review 66:The location, the vieuw from the 9th floor, the facilities, 5 minutes by car from the airport, size of the room

Review 67:There was only one trash can for the whole suite and they would not provide for more. It was difficulty to figure out how to turn the shower on. The faucet in the bathroom fell off. My finger was slit a little bit while I was trying to figure out how to turn the shower on. The pressure of the shower was low and the water was not warm enough. The Lobby is small.

Review 68:The hotel receptionist were nice, as well as the server for breakfast. They provided a computer for printing the boarding pass. There is a grocery close to the hotel. The receptionist called taxis for us. They emailed my receipt when I requested.

Review 69:Old musty smell - odd long hallway into room. Traveling companions had terrible experience at breakfast with rude service staff to other service staff and cost was high.

Review 70:This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Explaining it fully would take paragraphs, but here's an outline:- reception had no idea we had booked a room (luckily one was available)- bed was extremely uncomfortable, including old-fashioned lumpy quilt- there was a vast, cavernous wardrobe but only 4 coathangers- there is no minibar, the advertised "minibar" is a kitchenette, which has no cutlery or anything, making the microwave and fridge facilities pretty pointless and unservicable- the room was so filthy that we complained that night, and were moved to another room, which wasn't much better. There was thick dust everywhere and stains on the bathroom suite and walls- there was no 'do not disturb' sign- on one of the days our room wasn't made up at all. None of the housekeeping staff seemed to speak English and it was pretty obvious the hotel were expecting too much from people who a) would have trouble fully understanding instructions and b) with respect, probably come from areas of the world with lower standards. They seemed really nice, and overworked.- the phone in our room didn't work- the wifi didn't work- it is a good 20 minute walk away from the main few streets- a/c units stick out of walls but have no foam covering, meaning the rain pinged on the back of them and echoed into our room all night, keeping us awake- no hairdryer- in the first room there were 3 pillows and 1 cushion on the bed; in the second room there were 2 pillows- all pillows were thin and small- there is no breakfast buffet in summer, only overpriced sit down menu- the pub menu was utterly bizarre, with words we had never heard of.

Review 71:- Mostly nice staff. - Hotel looked nice from outside. -There's a shuttle service between the train station and the airport.

Review 72:Restaurant good, but some of the dishes were too salty.

Review 73:Housekeeping very good. Desk service very helpful. Liked the transport service to and from the airport.

Review 74:Breakfast was a mess. Credit card machine was broken, so instead of serving people and worrying about the money later, the only waiter decided to not take orders or serve people until the machine was fixed. Not working when I left after 20 minutes trying to get just a cup of coffee

Review 75:Great helpful staff. Really good people.

Review 76:Shuttle came in its own good time Check in was unwelcoming Room was small and un inviting ACwas noise and could not be used Bed was squeaky and uncomfortable Breakfast was overpriced and a joke

Review 77:Luggage storage

Review 78:We ckecked in on Sunday and checked out on Thursday and our rm was never cleaned. Went to front desk two days in a row and ask that it be cleaned. Desk gave us toilet paper and towels the 3 day. Second time we ask to have rm cleaned the manger of housekeeping told us it would be done that day. It wasn't !!

Review 79:Bed was comfortable.

Review 80:The self catering only consisted of paper cups and a coffee maker for coffee, so no cutlery, plates or cooking utensils even though there was a microwave to use.

Review 81:Conveniently close to town, free shuttle from airport and to railway station, great price, excellent restaurant.

Review 82:The hotel had very small elevators. Only one was working the day I was there. Newspaper stand was located in the basement.

Review 83:The staff quickly and professionally cleared up a billing mistake. Decent value considering the time of year.

Review 84:No individual lamps. No outlet to plug in night light in bathroom. Only one switch for both overhead lights.

Review 85:Convenient location. Free coffee. Kept our luggage safely in the lobby when we checked out early.

Review 86:The wi-fi is hit and miss inside the rooms but works fine in the lobby & they have a computer for customer use.

Review 87:The hotel is only a 10 min walk from downtown with access to all the shopping & food you need. The staff are friendly & helpful, a small market is across the road for supplies, after 12 days camping we found this a perfect base for the rest of our stay in Anchorage.

Review 88:the pillows were lumpy and the bed in 413 closest to the window was not very good

Review 89:The staff were friendly and helpful and also in the restaurant. The pillows were lumpy and the bed closest to the window in 413 was not do good. Otherwise very satisfied

Review 90:The beds were horrid! Worst night sleep EVER! The crib was falling apart and had tears in the mattress. When we asked for extra things like blankets for the pull out sleeper, nobody in our party got what we asked for.

Review 91:Some of the staff were quite rude. One was so busy on her mobile phone she didn't know I was standing in front of her for several minutes. Also at check in the staff member didn't want to be helpful at all. Seemed frustrated that I wanted some information. Not a good start. Also one of the lifts wasn't working which meant long waits both going up & coming down.

Review 92:The driver of the courtesy bus was friendly and very helpful but I did have to pay extra for that.

Review 93:One of two elevators out of service with no apparent timeline to fix. Made waiting to get to room very very long.

Review 94:Location close to downtown with free parking.

Review 95:Elevators.

Review 96:Reasonably priced hotel in the midst of many overpriced ones. Comfortable with good breakfast. Centrally located. Would stay there again. Very helpful staff.

Review 97:Nothing negative.

Review 98:The location is on the edge of downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are plain and somewhat basic but comfortable and a good value for the money. The shuttle service from/to the airport was quick and efficient.

Review 99:Housekeeping barging in and not taking no for an answer. Noise from waterpipes from other rooms and floor and noise in the corridors during the night.

Review 100:Excellent front desk staff, good location and free shuttle to airport.

Review 101:The interior is outdated and the bathroom was not very clean Staff was not really welcoming Shuttle was running 30 min late to take us to the airport Breakfast was not included in the cost and was expensive and just ok Limited cable TV

Review 102:Nice location close to the center of downtown Comfortable beds Kitchen with fridge

Review 103:Room very dated and not particularly comfortable. Door lock wouldn't work- changed keys 4 times and finally they came and fixed it. staff very nice here.

Review 104:Carpet on 11th floor is bunched up and worn. Is a tripping hazard. Wi-Fi although free is terribly slow and cuts out.

Review 105:Hotel is about 15min walk into downtown Anchorage. Stayed here for one night at the end of a tour as it was the drop off point & hotel has free airport shuttle. Had a better room than our first stay 2 weeks ago. Room is clean and comfortable. Bathroom is a little small but clean. Breakfast is nice but not included in room rate

Review 106:Room didn't get cleaned one day, tried to put us in a giant suite, TV was old tube style with no sound on 6 channels, damp spots on floors, and tub was elevated about 6 inches off floor.

Review 107:Location and parking

Review 108:Just seemed old, drab, and worn. The lighting was so poor it would be impossible to read if it was dark outside. The grout was peeling, paint dingy, carpets stained, just generally in need of an all around remodel. For the price, I would have expected more.....

Review 109:The hotel was easy to find if you have your own transportation, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with a refrigerator, table and coffee maker. Quiet with good black out blinds for the "midnight sun."

Review 110:The lack of a 2nd elevator made for time problems. Get it fixed! The highness of the bathtub was not a good thing for many of our party--very concerned about slipping, falling, or damaging fixtures. We also had no hairdryer!

Review 111:Liked the location. Liked that we could pick up our bus to our cruise ship outside. (It would help if a bus stop sign was placed for visitors to know where to be) Breakfast was yummy!

Review 112:The hotel board at the airport does not have this hotel listed, so you will have to use a public phone to call for the shuttle. When I called, I waited 40 minutes and the shuttle never showed up. The reception staff were extremely unfriendly and not even very helpful.

Review 113:Rooms were more than adequate, comfortable and clean. The Pub house restaurant in the hotel offers excellent meals and the service was great. If you want budget accommodation but of a good quality, then this is a great choice.

Review 114:Very pool service. No room service. Bed not ready. Have to go down to the front desk to pick up sheets and do it ourselves. Elevator is very slow.

Review 115:Free shuttle.

Review 116:over priced

Review 117:Stayed here for one night as this was the location my tour used as a meeting point. Very basic accommodation and probably a little expensive. Rooms are clean but basic, carpet in hallway is worn and bunched up so not great with luggage. Breakfast was nice & hotel offers airport shuttle pick up.

Review 118:Unsafe in bathroom, need grab bars Should use fitted bottom sheets TV offerings are poor

Review 119:Walking distance to downtown Anchorage Shuttle service is great Room is adequate Staff is very helpful

Review 120:Free airport shuttle, older property but large comfortable room, easy 15 minute walk to the centre of town, convenience store close by and a guest laundry.

Review 121:Appalling lift service, unfriendly front desk, promised breakfast inclusion "no longer available", located well out of town (car essential)and generally run down.

Review 122:Low tariff and free parking

Review 123:over a two week period we stayed a total of four nights at Inlet Tower Of the two small hotels only one elevator was working so there were very long waits for sometimes already packed elevator No hair dryer and 2 of the 3 visits we had to ask for linens for couch bed which delayed putting the kid to bed

Review 124:friendly and helpful staff , attractive 15 story hotel not too fair from downtown

Review 125:Only 1 elevator working, no air conditioning, shuttle was free but not dependable - was 45 minutes late and almost missed flight. Not sithin walking distance to any restaurants.

Review 126:Bed was ok, nice to have a microwave and refrigerator, shower good

Review 127:Only 1 elevator working. Getting bags up and down from 12th floor was a challenge. Only 1 of our 3 rooms had working AC. Happened to be a heat wave when we were there.

Review 128:Free shuttle to airport

Review 129:Long black hairs found on bathroom floor that were not mine. When complained about A/C staff said it had not been turned on. Handicapped door does not open fully as it catches on concrete - difficult to get through with luggage. Very old building in need of upgrades in all areas.

Review 130:Free airport shuttle and driver was very nice.

Review 131:Ohe out of 2 lifts not operating made for lengthy delays for lifts. Wifi was so poor as to be useless facilities very dated, kitchenette had no utensiles at all.

Review 132:Older property, rooms need update and remodel. One of two elevators broke down during our stay.

Review 133:Large 1-bedroom suite, great views of Anchorage and 10-minutes walk to downtown. Bed was comfortable

Review 134:Check-in members gave no explication at all, just here is the key and look it up yourself Location of the hotel is poor, far from everything. The hotel needs a make-over

Review 135:The Shuttle bus driver was a very friendly guy !

Review 136:Appearance was old and run down. Room was small and tight. No heat in building, room was cold and only one extra blanket available. One operational elevator for 15 floors. Long waits for the elevator.

Review 137:Location close to downtown. Decent value for the money. Kitchenette in the room. Option for laundry room. Front desk staff was helpful with questions.

Review 138:Bed needed to be replaced. Sheets didn't fit, so pulled off easily. Safety bar on wall near shower might be a good idea.

Review 139:Room had a full kitchen, very efficient with ample space for all activities. Shower was hot (slow to get to temp) and forceful. Pleasant elements of history in room, given that it was one of few buildings to survive 1964 earthquake. Staff were very helpful. Could buy food at the hotel, but we easily walked downtown both NE and N for food and activities. Location was excellent for sightseeing with easy proximity to Cook Inlet. Free shuttle to the airport was very helpful. Price was reasonable given location and Alaska prices.
