Reviews for Hostel Piran

Review 1:No parking, but the owners gives you discount on your parking ticket.

Review 2:We stayed in hostel pirano, we recieved really big apartment, very beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The staff is very kind and friendly. Very recomended

Review 3:the bathroom is going to be totally renovated, hopefully.... and the toilets are in the bathroom, which is the only one for the whole guests.

Review 4:Room under the roof very comfortable. Not too hot (even in august) thanks to the ventilator. In the center, near everything: beach, restaurants, cathedral, and easy to go by foot to the fortifications.

Review 5:Location - it was very hard to find the hostel ... it took us more than30 minutes to find it, because that's the way it works in Piran -but in the end you'll love it :) ... But I recommend the owners tomake it easier for their guests. Not even the domestic people were ableto help us ...

Review 6:Location - in the city center, once you've found the hostel andremembered the direction, it was a huge plus... City - Piran is abeautiful city, a mix of slovenien and italien culture ... beautiful !!!

Review 7:Staff very friendly and helpful, even came to meet us in the port to show us the way. I had a great night's sleep but my friends were far too hot, as there is only one small fan in the room. For the price and location, it is good value for money, if you don't mind sharing a bathroom.

Review 8:Cleanliness. Has our room ever been cleaned? Not to mention the shower...

Review 9:Maja, the hostess, is very kind and helpful. Location in the old city center.

Review 10:Rooms were quite dirty and electrical sockets hanging off the wall with wires exposed. Only 1 bathroom for all guests on the ground floor. Bathroom very dirty and smelt. Also used as their laundry room and utility so surrounded by sheets hanging and dirty mood right next to shower

Review 11:Location quite good but tricky to find

Review 12:Fan didn't work in bedroom so spent an unbearable night's sleep. Hostel, especially bathroom, smelt really bad of old wet washing and damp. Bathroom full of washing, junk and wet towels.

Review 13:Fantastic location, only minutes walk from sea. Lovely airy bedroom with clean beds and bedding. Staff very friendly and helpful. Came to find us to show us how to get to hostel.

Review 14:No heating in bathroom and kitchen (winter time) only few movable radiators. We were suppose to get free ticket for parking, didt get it. Tried to get in contact with hostel manager, staff could not have reach him. Overpriced, this hostel is worth half the price.

Review 15:but the whole place needs a thorough clean-up. it was all a bit dirty, there were even crisps-crumbles on our bedside table the accomodation is cheap so if u want to travel on a low budget and only stay for one or two nights it's okay

Review 16:We travelled with a dog, which can be a problem but wasn't one here, we didnt even have to pay extra for it. the location was good and the room was small but had everything that is needed. the "landlord" was really friendly and helpful

Review 17:The equipment is getting quite old and they could pay more attention to cleaning. You can hear other guests quite a lot and there is only one toilet in the bathroom for all of them.

Review 18:The location is really central and still quiet, one appartment has private terrace so if you are lucky you can have breakfast on the morning sun. You can let your clothes wash here.

Review 19:It is basically a small house. Only one bathroom (a shower and a toilet together). Squeaky stairs and beds. Hard to find - the street is very narrow and easy for us to miss.

Review 20:Close to the city centre. Clean and spacious.

Review 21:- very basic facilities - bathroom could be cleaner

Review 22:- location, it's right in the centre of Piran - very friendly staff - great price - the room at the top has a roof terrace and is much bigger than the other rooms

Review 23:Shower and toilet were 2 levels below my room. There was a lengthy wait to use them both mornings.

Review 24:The staff, although on his first day on the job, was friendly and helpful.

Review 25:Our room was on the 3rd floor and the only bathroom was on the main floor-normally not a big deal, but in the middle of the night, not convenient. The stairs didn't always feel safe, so every trip up and down felt kind of tricky.

Review 26:Charming location through a cool maze of ancient cobblestone streets! Clean room, kitchen and bathroom with fairly reliable WiFi. The staff was very sweet, helpful and informative.

Review 27:Just read other comments....

Review 28:Good location, good mattresses

Review 29:fast communication ! everything perfect :)

Review 30:Cleanliness wasn't great and the shared bathroom situation wasn't ideal.

Review 31:Location was great

Review 32:Too much hot in the bedroom.

Review 33:Location

Review 34:Salle de bain au RDC à côté de l'entrée, chambre sans rangement

Review 35:La localisation dans la ville, très bien situé

Review 36:no bathroom on our floor

Review 37:central, good location, spacious rooms, friendly personal

Review 38:Right in the heart of the old town. Staff is very friendly. Perfect place, good value for money. Will def come back next year.

Review 39:The wifi in the top room isn't that great.

Review 40:Top room has great terrace. Nice kitchen

Review 41:bathroom three flights down. But unavoidable.

Review 42:Comfy bed and nice big window.

Review 43:When we arrived at the hostel we were given the wrong key and nearly got locked in. The lockigsystem was poor and we didn't feel safe. The door into the room could only be locked from the outside with a small padlock. We wanted the check out direcly but there wasn't any refounds, and we missed that in the discription of the hostel. Intead of getting the money back we got a new room at another of their hostels. The room there was freezing at night, and we got woken up by the crew everynight, when they talked were loudly, turned on the light, and used the toilet.

Review 44:The crew was very helpful and understanding when we had the problems with the checkout.

Review 45:Since they were short staffed, no one was at the hostel, and they said the door would be open, which it was not! We had to wait two hours to be let in. We never did see anyone, the next day we just got a note telling us where to leave our payment. The stove in the kitchen did not light and the one tea towel provided was absolutely filthy.

Review 46:We were in room 5, which is a funky little room tucked in the attic ,reached by a little ladder, and where you can't even really stand up in, but it has a lovely private patio attached. Sheets were clean and beds were cozy though. The location was also perfect, and with the map provided was easy to find, just a minute or two from the main square.

Review 47:Inside the hostel - The very old and loud stairs, no clean towels in the bathroom, no TV in the room

Review 48:Interesting narrow streets and beautiful old buildings

Review 49:Small room, but for Piran it is OK. The place is hard to find like in all Piran.

Review 50:Authentic old building in Venetian style. Very helpful staff. Location in the center - close to everything a tourist might need.

Review 51:The room was a little warm, although the fan helps to mitigate this.

Review 52:The owner was very kind to us and contacted us beforehand, offering to meet us anywhere in town if we needed to. He was honest and straightforward. We stayed in room 5, which had a private patio on the roof.

Review 53:The staff is really friendly and informative. The hostel is really nice and clean. Would definately recommend!

Review 54:helpfull staff, clean rooms, nice kitchen and bathroom, cosy neighbourhood

Review 55:Very good location, staff were friendly and accommodating. Although hostel is small (due to location) the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Review 56:The rubbish wasn't taken out daily. We had many flea bites, but you never know where they bit you

Review 57:Well placed and good facilities.

Review 58:The outlet was lose and unsave.

Review 59:Need to call to have someone meet you at the hostel...a little confusing

Review 60:Great Location, laid back staff

Review 61:There's only one bathroom, and the creaking stairs and beds make it pretty noisy

Review 62:Cheap, fairly clean, good-sized bathroom

Review 63:Squeaky bed and stairs. Not a major though.

Review 64:Great location, very clean. Basic but has everything you need.

Review 65:*no reception *no sign that it's a hostel outside, so you can't find it yourself

Review 66:*clean white sheets *hot shower *equiped kitchen
