Reviews for Casa Ela
Review 1:No promised facilities such as: no wifi, no spa nor massage. No private bathroom, and the room was extremely tiny, therefore very uncomfortable. We never met the owners, we faced difficulties even to get in.
Review 2:The room was tiny, and there was not even a small table where we could put our stuff, such as a camera, book, tea cup, etc. It all had to be piled on the floor. The "double" bed was two single beds with two separate mattresses put together, which wasn't especially comfortable. The bathroom and toilet were outside the room and would have to be shared (if we were not the only guests on that day). The place is probably nice during the summer, but in October was too cold. There was an electric heater in the room, so it was fine, but leaving the room to go to the bathroom or the kitchen was too cold, as there was no heating there, and it was 0 degrees outside on the night we stayed in Turda. The description said there would be a microwave and a kettle in the kitchen, but there was none. There was also no oil, salt, sugar or tea, which we always found in other pensions with kitchens in Romania. There was no WiFi in the room and the only place where it was working was outside in the yard by the owner's house, which was very inconvenient, since it was too cold to sit outside in the evening. The town centre is about 15-20 minute walk and some of the buses (for example to go to Turda gorge) had to be taken there. To be honest, if you come to Turda to visit the salt mine, the Turda and Tureni gorges, it's better to stay in Cluj and make a trip to Turda by bus. It takes only 30 minutes to get from Cluj to Turda and buses run every 30 minutes until late.
Review 3:The place was clean and had character. There was a garden and a terrace, where it's probably nice to eat and chill out on a warm day. Having access to a kitchen was very good too. It had almost everything we needed: plates, pots and pens, cuttlery, small electric cooker and a coffee maker. The owner didn't speak English, but allowed us to leave our luggage until the evening, once we checked out, which was very helpful. She also brought us some fresh coffee with chocolates first thing in the morning and some breakfast, even though it wasn't part of our booking. The pension is only a few steps away from the bus station, so convenient if you are coming to Turda by bus.
Review 4:Location
Review 5:The rooms in the anex, where I stayed, have very poor standard. Only worh 10 euro per room.
Review 6:The apartment in the main building seems nice.
