Reviews for Hibiscus Resort And Spa

Review 1:The rooms were tired and dated and needed a good clean and the ceiling needed repair. The shower located above the bath was too small and hard to climb in and out of. The couch in the living space needs to be replaced as it became uncomfortable to sit on after a while. Whilst it was a self contained unit, a regular towel change and clean would be of benefit and would be appreciated by guests. If you don't like stairs ask for a unit on the ground or first floor. No breakfast was available.

Review 2:The location was excellent, convenient to shops and Main Street. Swimming pools were good and clean. The resort was positioned in nice tropical surroundings. Although we didn't have a car, off street parking was a good feature. Overall we enjoyed our stay, a few minor things to be done to really enhance the resort to make it worthy of 4.5 stars.

Review 3:Reception completely shut during public holidays. No room service during the first 4 days of the stay. Bring or buy plenty of towels as you will run out and no one will be around to give you any. You will be charged for them anyway, along with toilet paper! Place is a little run down and in need of a make over. Otherwise great location.

Review 4:Location is amazing. A short walk to shops and restaurants as well as the beach.

Review 5:Fire alarm malfunctioned about 7am one morning-apparently it wasn't the first time

Review 6:Great location, large room with good internal amenities and comfortable bed

Review 7:We have stayed at the Hibiscus Resort and Spa before and enjoyed the surrounds and friendly staff. The larger pool and breakfast area was more quiet and the morning breakfast was very healthy. Will come again.

Review 8:We got the cheap room, so no view but that's what you get for the cheap room. Some mold on the sides of the pool, but I imagine that's hard to avoid in that climate. Would still recommend this hotel though.

Review 9:Easy walking distance to the main street and marina. Beautiful garden. 2 pools!

Review 10:Great location - friendly receptionist Good facilities, includes washing/drying facility for general use. Lovely pools Good rate including breakfast. Very comfortable and relaxing. Di - Mollymook

Review 11:Only criticism was the rubbish 4 cable tv channels, but even this serviced as they have a great selection of dvds to borrow free from reception! Also, really who needs tv at Port?

Review 12:Awesome location.. Great room layout.. Beautiful balinese style infrastructure and decor, great spa in room too

Review 13:Bed fairly uncomfortable, sheets very stained. Tiny balcony looking at a brick wall, noisy from breakfast. Would ensure different room style but would stay again for the price and ease of access.

Review 14:Great location, large room, nicely furnished.

Review 15:Very friendly and helpful staff Tropical breakfast by the pool with Ha and her young team Balinese style building surrounded by palms Excellent massage by Connie Add ons to our package were great

Review 16:Breakfast got Birmingham if you stating longer than one week. Had to ask for moe tea, coffee and milk, as we were there 11 days. Could do with gentle music around pool ( optio)

Review 17:Great pools and gardens. Love the torches lit at dusk.staff especially breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful. A very relaxing place. Massage at spa was brilliant

Review 18:This place put me into relaxation/holiday mode straight away! The atmosphere, the pools and a day at the spa was just what the doctored ordered! The continental breakfast was plentiful with lots of healthy options, and the hot beverage service was great every morning. Location is great – close walk to great restaurants, shopping and the beach. I would highly recommend this place to anyone - especially couples!

Review 19:great location, only a 5 minute walk from everything in Port Douglas.

Review 20:all was great. sometimes the hot water would not be as hot as i'd like.

Review 21:the staff were great especially Emma at reception. the spa was amazing, very serene and relaxing and my massage was bliss. location is great, a street away from shops and cafes. loved the torch flames throughout the resort.

Review 22:My friend is a smoker & felt having to leave the room when there was an outside balcony which most hotels let the smokers use was a bit inconveinient.People who were smoking made quite a bit of noise out in the garage below us. There was no visible signage for the hotel. We drove up & down for a while till we saw numbers before we figured out where it might be.I was on my way to ask when I realised I had arrived at reception.

Review 23:The hotel was in a lovely quiet location.Loved the pool.

Review 24:This is not a 4 star resort. 3.5 star would be my rating as the room does not get cleaned daily. Not a big deal as we didnt spend much time in it but the resort rating should somewhat reflect the level of services. Also if you travel as a couple we were kind of hoping not to endure the noise noise of little smurfs running around being a spa resort - this was not the case, kids everywhere! Not a complaint as its suits some but not others so just for your general information if you are looking to stay here for some quiet relaxation.

Review 25:The room was nice and clean and great pool. Great location as well.

Review 26:The kitchen window was hard to open, the bath/shower would not suit guests who are not steady on their feet, the bedroom lighting was not good for reading in bed and the balcony chairs were rather uncomfortable. WiFi was not free.

Review 27:The unit was stylish and comfortable and generally quiet. The grounds and pools created a very pleasant tropical atmosphere. The facility is very conveniently placed to the Port Douglas CBD, the marina/ferry wharf and the beach

Review 28:Spa closed early. No staff on reception

Review 32:Very pleasant ,great location very helpful staff

Review 33:rear pool needs some TLC edge tiles around the pool and fountains into the pool not working
