Reviews for Hunter Prince Castle & Dracula Hotel
Review 1:Poor breakfast, no lift and place was built in 2000 so not a real castle. Staff speak very basic English, just enough to understand what u need. Turda as a town is pretty bleak.
Review 2:Central and convenient
Review 3:Did not like the location, or the lack of sign showing us the proper way to get to the hotel. We eventually went the opposite way down the one way street.
Review 4:The décor was excellent, giving you that true Transylvania feel that many of us are looking for when traveling to Romania. Very close to the Turda Salt Mines and priced very well for the area. Staff was excellent, nice and helpful.
Review 5:Lack of ventilation in the bathroom - became damp and smelly.
Review 6:Original design and atmosphere, Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast at the restaurant. Private parking lot.
Review 7:At check-in they said they took American Express, but at check out they didn't so it would be nice if this policy was clarified.
Review 8:Nice town, good restaurant on site, fun design to the rooms.
Review 9:Impossible to find - the GPS had it all wrong. Very frustrating. Was told to just drive into town past the roundabout, but that still was very confusing.
Review 10:The kitsch value was pretty good, although they didn't have all the details there. Loud obnoxious TV blaring in the dining room. Would have liked to eat in the indoor dining room for the ambience.
Review 11:From the pictures on the website I thought this hotel was going to be a little bit tacky; I was wrong. Lovely atmosphere and nice staff. Careful choice of furniture and very pleasant yard full of plants. Extremely happy to find slippers, bathrobe and a typical welcome drink. Breakfast à la carte and with delicious flagrant croissants.
Review 12:Our room was located too close to the reception desk which caused some unnecessary noise from impolite (loud) guests in the morning. I think most rooms do not suffer from this so it was just bad luck.
Review 13:Location is excellent, staff was very friendly and we enjoyed their food as well.
Review 14:This place was a blast. The decor is awesome! First, we got upgraded to a suite at no extra cost, and the room was awesome. Everything is dark carved wood and elicits the feel of a castle or something. There are game animals along the walls of the restaurant, bears, boars, lynx. Lots of fun hunter stuff, antlers, powder horns, etc. Then there's the whole "Dracula's Castle" room, decked out with all kinds of B-horror movie props; bloodied weapons, skulls, skulking demons, soaring dragons, just over the top silly fun. Two suits of armor stand in the dining room; but don't look inside! Mwahahahaha! :)
Review 15:We liked everything :) Everyone would like to try a night staying in a castle - like hotel :-) Very comfortable, good atmosphere, and also good food :-) Very clean, with comfortable bed. Our room was small, but beautiful.
Review 16:The rooms are huge and well-equipped and the beds very comfortable indeed, the decor was amusing and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is excellent value for money and has on-site parking. It's very clean and well looked after. The restaurant isn't as good as the rest of the hotel but it's perfectly fine.
Review 17:The brekfast it self is good, but dont order сroissants. Its just makes you laught, you are sitting in a fancy-like restarunt with a waiters in suits. And they bring you 2 сroissants from a supermarket in their original packaging on a plate. The other meal that we had was omlet and it was good.
Review 18:The hotel it self is good as a hotel, but the thing that makes you willing to pay such not cheap price is the design. We got there just to take a pictures, took us a couple of hours to see all, one of the best pictures all trip. And as I said before the hotel is good, big rooms , good wifi, nice staff.
Review 19:The room is very small, bad is not comfortable, poor breakfast, minibar is very expensive, restaurant of the hotel is very expensive, the hotel is not like the pictures in booking and it is not a dream hotel. Hotel does not deserve this value of money.
Review 20:Location is central
Review 21:Could have done with power sockets near bed in the junior suite.
Review 22:Fab restaurant kept my 18m entertained running around the garden and looking at the statues and bear rugs. Loved the bathrobes and slippers and size of junior suite.
Review 23:Rooms to small. Weird & massive masonry in the room, probably to create "old times" atmosphere, not really needed. Beware the sharp edges. Beds are too high, quite unconfortable for short people. Rooms facing the local food market are rather noisy.
Review 24:Good location in Turda. Nice garden & restaurant. Nice staff.
Review 25:I woudn't classify this as a 4 star hotel and I don't think it's worth the money paid. We stayed in a range of places in Romania, all of which were much cheaper and better quality than this. The staff were pretty miserable - dissappointing given how friendly everyone else in Romania had been. Made to carry our own bags up a dangerous staircase (I'd be concerned if I had young people with me) and there was no lift.
Review 26:Cheasy decor but we found it amusing. The main reason to stay here is as a base to visit Turda salt mine, which is an absolutely amazing place.
Review 27:The shower was small.
Review 28:The ambiance of the hotel is excellent. What fantastical decor! Truly a destination hotel. The restaurant was great.
Review 29:Stylish hotel. Very good restaurant. Nice staff
Review 30:Great atmosphere and excellent food
Review 31:We liked the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The waiter in the restaurant was great.
Review 32:It is agreat hotel the atmosfaire is great, the location and the rooms are great , We will come back
Review 33:The bed was awful!
Review 34:The decor, gardens, food and staff
Review 35:Too much noise as a wedding was held in the hotel garden.
Review 36:Very Poor signal WiFi.
Review 37:Located in the center, very good breakfast!!
Review 38:We got room with no windows. Very small room. Uncoftable for family. Bad food. Nice place but not for families
Review 39:Very good location. Comfortable and clean rooms.
Review 40:Bed sleeping quality
Review 41:Wonderful middle ages like decorations Perfect for short stays in the region
Review 42:Great food, well located, and enjoyable for what it was
Review 43:Bolovanii din camera...
Review 44:a hotel designed for foreigners :). large rooms, really unique decorations (with stone walls in the middle of the room).
Review 45:the bad smell in the bathroom due some sewage problems I believe.
Review 46:the location, room size, the hotel restaurant food
Review 47:Shower, tiny room, weak wifi signal, simple breakfest
Review 48:Location
Review 49:Not the most cheerful staff in the world
Review 50:Good location (if you like Turda)
Review 51:Very nice hotel in the city center, yet quiet. Interesting architecture and equipment. Friendly staff. Rich breakfest.
Review 52:Shower :)
Review 53:Staff, food and placement. Very nice atmosphere!
Review 54:Need brighter Light Globes in Bathroom
Review 55:Comfortable and Quiet
Review 56:we liked everything
Review 57:helpful staff, good food, mad looking themed building-all perfect
Review 58:Noise in the courtyard at night after 11.00 p.m. Staff turned on the radio whilst making breakfast and this was disturbing. Poor breakfast for a 4 star hotel. Had to continually ask for food to be brought. Bread, meat. No vegitables. Asked waiter for them and he said it was his collegues fault. Never brought in any event. Waiter seemed to resent our presence. Ham had been deep frozen and when eaten you drank water not meat. You could squeeze the water out. I have had much better food in Romanian three star hotels.
Review 59:Location and situation of hotel - rooms adequate.
Review 60:Twin room was very small, nowhere fot suit cases. breakfast was too controlled, you had a very restricted choice that had to be ordered. terrible shower that flooded the bathroom each time it was used.
Review 61:Building structure very impressive
Review 62:The bathroom design was a bit stange for me: stones covered the wall, bathtube, and toilet were blue...
Review 63:It is a wonderful caste of a hunter, and there is also a "Dracula" theme. Good breakfast, original design in a small town.
Review 64:The breakfast was very poor.
Review 65:Really fun hotel with interesting rooms the staff very friendly and very helpful The evening meal was excellent I would recommend this hotel
Review 66:Food and hotel prices are ridiculously high. Food quality and diversity is fair at best.
Review 67:The hotel is small and a 3 star one at best. The restaurant only had 1 high chair for toddlers and even that one was broken! The food was over priced and the quality was fair. The hotel prices and restaurant prices are ridiculously high for the quality.
Review 68:bar not open - though we were off season no overnight room clean so we had to make our own bed!
Review 69:the decor and style of the hotel and room friendliness of staff quality of food
Review 70:This stay was the most perfect stay in a hotel that I ever had!!! The staff was great and very friendly. The food was excellent. I had special demands as I had my 6 year old son with me, but also wanted to enjoy the stay with my friends - the management of the hotel was great and very helpful. All was organised as requested. Super! This is a great place for all - groups of friends, lovers, families and even for companies looking for a special environment for their events. Thanks a lot for everything!! Great, super! We will see you again!!!! :-) :-) :-)
Review 71:Need to pay 10 lei (2€) for a free tourism map of Turda (The term"free copy" was hidden with black marker). Anyway, this mapwas very un-useful
Review 72:Very nice hotel, with spacious rooms, and good breakfast.
Review 73:Our room had an unpleasent smell (probably from the old carpets...). Staff was not attentive and not friendly. We asked for an additional blanket in advance during the booking but didn't get it. When asking for it when arriving to the hotel we were offered a plain wool blanket and not the fluffy good kind (receptionist explained that they didn't have more than one fluffy blanket per room). No elevator!!! We had to take our baggage 2 stories up by ourselves! Shower is extremely narrow and feels like a cave (being built with stones walls). Breakfast has a prefixed menu and no deviations allowed. We prefer a buffet but it depends on your taste… Payment for the room was charged immediately during check in which was a first for us. We thought is was an over rated and over priced hotel. We do not recommend it and will not go back.
Review 74:Special theme design if Dracula and stuffed animals are your thing...
Review 75:Paid for extra bed in room but only got some extra sheets covering the sofa (not a fold out version or anything just standard leather sofa). Need car, not much to visit in Turda city itself.
Review 76:Good food, but limited choice for vegetarians. Good location , close to center. Good breakfast but no buffet. Airco.
Review 77:Too small parking. Difficult to find. Hotel squeezed between buildings. It is not true that children under 4 stay free of charge, as in booking.com policy. Be careful!!! If you want your child (under 4) to have a breakfast - you have to pay additional 15 Euros. So children under 4 are not free of charge!!!! The receptionist told as that we wanted to safe money by not paying for our child under 4 !!! It was really rude.
Review 78:Nice place to stay when you travelling around Transylvania. Very close distance to small town centre with small shops.
Review 79:It wasn't really a castle on top of a hill.
Review 80:Actually this hotel is not as brash and corny as we expected. Yes its a hotel made to seem like a counts mansion, and yes it has real bear skins, stuffed animals, towers and ramparts, but it is more tastefully decorated than we expected. Its fun, its luxurious and it is certainly value for money. The restaurant food is worthy of any 4 star hotel with a little twist of fun, like worn out vampires dick, and Dracula's favorite bloody steak Tartare. The hotel is just a minutes walk from the town center and five minutes drive from the salt mine.
Review 81:Nothing.
Review 82:Bonkers hotel which we loved!!!! Decor is over-the-top and fun, just go with it! Room was comfortable and clean, restaurant was nice, good service and meals. Well located near the pleasant town town centre and quiet. Located 2-3 miles from the salt-mine, which is a must-see!!
Review 83:food and drinks expensive
Review 84:quirky
Review 85:no view. My room looked out into a carpark n dumpster. It was noisy and an eyesore.
Review 86:Friendly staff, awesome food, gorgeous design.
Review 87:The food was not good and the location was sqeezed in between other buildings.
Review 88:The room was excellent. Comfort and cosy. Everything was clean.
Review 89:Limited menu for lunch snacks etc no guest lounge area to relax in
Review 90:Atmospheric, Gothic theme with interesting evening/dinner menu
Review 91:This hotel is the only reason to visit Turda as a tourist.
Review 92:Stunning themed hotel, photos on web-sight don't do it justice. Guest rooms excellent.
Review 93:Foarte original, este perfect pentru o mini vacanta.
