Reviews for Waldorf Leura Gardens Resort
Review 1:The roll out bed was a relic from the past with springs missing I am sure the mattress had bed bugs I did not sleep a wink. The pool area was really dated with paint peeling and old bits of timber covering skylights. The trundle bed was the worst bed I have ever come across and that is after 30 years of overseas travel. I have had a better nights sleep in native hut in Irian Jaya.
Review 2:The facilities such as billiard room, Reading lounge and the pool.
Review 3:The very mouldy smelly dirty bathroom. the damp wet yukky door frame in bathroom with peeling paint. The worst bit was the mould around tub and shower and hand basin. The smell when u open the bathroom cabinet was discgusting. Old mouldy wet yukky smell in room aswell. The super dusty heater in bathroom. The size of the rubbish bin in room was way too small. The old furniture is yuk. The insects and spiders in room n bathroom. The insects in courtyard. The lack of privacy in courtyard. The wifi speed was pathetic. The fact that jasmin restaurant was booked out. The curtains in room r discgusting n look very old and worn and r broken. The fan in the room made the place look cheap. Aircon didn't work. Very dark room. Bathroom and toilet needs ventilation and proper windows.
Review 4:That i could stay with my family of 5. Room size was big. Nice courtyard but no privacy. Great free parking right outside room. Lounge/ games room is nice. Pool is nice. Buffet bfast was nice yet simple. Staff were lovely.
Review 5:We booked a room with a king size bed. Despite asking the receptionist twice when we checked in, we were told it was a king size bed. However when checking out, we measured it and discussed with the receptionist again. She looked at our room and another room and conceded we had a queen size bed. Left a bad taste. The only offer was 10% off the price.
Review 6:Location
Review 7:Some of the furniture is a bit dated and could have been cleaner. A bit of a treck from the station if you don't have a car.
Review 8:Good breakfast and gardens, pool looked nice.
Review 9:Never have heard other motels taking $100 bond when I paid money in full. And even it's not for ALL customers. It's not fair. The Tax Invoice did NOT display surcharge.
Review 10:A good location for relaxation. Very nice breakfasts.
Review 11:waited in a queue for 20 mins to check in, and the same to check out. Only I staff member manning desk. Poor service. The resort was full, and they had I staff member checking everyone in & out.
Review 12:clean comfortable room, overlooking pool and golf course.
Review 13:Old & Dirty there were no restaurant opened in the resort & we had to drive out to the village to have our dinner
Review 14:Garden & Breakfast Restaurant
Review 15:A bit of a (hilly) walk from the town centre, although there is a bus service. Best experienced by car.
Review 16:Excellent, well-furnished rooms, lovely bathrooms, lovely garden, and most importantly - lovely breakfast.
Review 17:TV cheap, picture very ordinary. Hook for towel behind bathroom door broken so very little for hanging towels etc.
Review 18:Well maintained. Clean. Breakfast excellent value. Pool clean and inviting.
Review 19:The dimness of the rooms. Lights were yellow colour and there were minimal causing the room to look very dark and dull. Cleanliness of facilities can be improved especially the bathroom and ceilings.
Review 20:The friendliness of staff. They attended to needs promptly. Close proximity to major attractions and restaurants.
Review 21:1.The unfriendly front desk lady who checked us in on 19th December 2015 around 2pm ... 2.Also the breakfast was poor ..
Review 22:Nothing upnormal that i liked here
Review 23:The atmosphere wonderful with the beautiful gardens. Veranda outside the rooms. We couldn't fault anything. We certainly will be back again to stay.....
Review 24:I would highly recommend this resort. Stunning garden setting. Room was spacious and well fitted out - bed very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast the best I have ever had at a resort. Receptionist very friendly and willing to help our group.
Review 25:easy check-in, parked outside our ground floor room. Bed was particularly comfortable and the view from wndows was of a private garden area. Breakfast was good too.
Review 26:It was a long long walk to lookouts which they said were quite close. I couldn't change the payment to another credit card when I arrived at 2pm because they had taken the monies out before we arrived. I have travelled throughout Europe and this sort of thing never happens there. The customer service person said if you had arranged it prior to coming it could be done but I don't have to do this sort of thing in Europe. My travelling companions had to then go to an automated machine in order to pay me in cash,as i had booked it, it was taken out of my account, whereas when we travel overseas they just pay their part of the bill. Australian tourist resorts need to wake up and get a bit slicker.
Review 27:A golf course was nearby. The pancake machine in breakfast room YUMMY! Food selection at breakfast great. Would be good if restaurant opened mid week for lunch. Great view of house next door from room. Their other garden was great, the one the restaurant looked on to.
Review 28:The room was very well and conveniently fitted out and everything worked well. It could have been cleaned a bit better - the TV console and windowsills were dusty. The renovated bathroom was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. We particularly appreciated a turn around the garden with Head Gardener Liz - fabulous garden. The whole complex is a delight. The included full breakfast was a bonus - love the dining room with views of the garden. The swimming pool looked good and the lounges, play rooms, which we didn't use, were a nice surprise.
Review 29:Bathroom old, out dated, in need of renovating. Main bed was very uncomfortable, slept in single bed.
Review 30:Staff were nice. The overall look and the grounds were appealing and well presented. Breakfast was very good.
Review 31:Our room had a damp smell to it
Review 32:Pool as it was very hot when we got there We were a group of friends and it was great having areas where we could gather together
Review 33:Really do not appreciate money being taken from my account the day prior to check-in. For this reason alone I will not use this resort again as I find it very rude. The receptionist told me this was a Booking.com policy (which it is not) and when I told her as much she couldn't give an honest reply.
Review 34:Good buffet breakfast, largely friendly staff, clean rooms and nice location from which to explore the area by car.
Review 35:The resort has an certain age, which you can see. Hygiene however of the rooms and breakfastrestaurant is far below level. Cleaning has nothing to do with age but with care and supervision. Staff is friendly however
Review 36:Very friendly reception staff on arrival; on departure we were not asked how we liked our stay ...
Review 37:Bathrooms a little worn, cup in the food prep area had been used. No local food outlet information in the room or local sights information.
Review 38:Central location, lovely gardens, includes breakfast big rooms comfortable bed, outdoor garden sitting area
Review 39:We really enjoyed our stay. We had a very nice view over treetops to the hills. It was a large room with a large comfortable bed and lots of space. And there is a local peacock who occasionally visits!
Review 40:We booked a delux room and the bathroom was dirty and had mould in the tiles, the reception area smelt of stale cigarette smoke and the receptionist was not a bit interested in Her guests having a good stay at the establishment
Review 41:Personally, maybe I went to the wrong way so It's really hard to find the reception. After I came into the reception, I smiled to the staff but she didn't give me respond, I can't felt she's eager.
Review 42:It's really quiet and nice room.
Review 43:Loved everything!
Review 44:Our first impression of Leura Gardens was wonderful as the gardens were spectacular. Our room was lovely and clean with a small balcony which looked over the pool. The kids were thrilled to find a table tennis table and had plenty to do with this and billiards, air hockey, swimming pool etc. An added bonus to most motels was the large communal lounge with big screen TV, coffee making etc where the adults in our group met each evening we stayed. Buffet breakfast was hot and plentiful. Both the cleaners and reception staff were happy and efficient. Wi Fi was good. We'll be back.
Review 45:Hotel clearly in need of major upgrade. Doors on to room balcony had to be forced open, balcony furniture run down & dirty with peeling paint. Gym building derelict & unaccessible, reception staff unfriendly, not worth $217 a night
Review 46:Not much, breakfast was OK as was location
Review 47:But with so many good features, all these good points were totally cancelled by the fact that the room was not serviced nor were the tea and coffee items replaced. Paying this amount of money we would have at least expected the room to be surfaced and tea/coffee facilities provided and replaced.
Review 48:This property has many good, features, even excellent, The rooms were spacious, the mattresses were comfortable, the towels were large and thirsty. Garden was beautiful. It was close to main amenities and was certainly popular amongst tourist bus travellers. Good strong flow in the shower.
Review 49:We would have used the restaurant if it was open. Room good - but shower was ordinary.
Review 50:Staff Very friendly and helpful with regard to providing information about tourist attractions. The family lived the buffet breakfast and the gardens were emaculate.
Review 51:I was travelling with an older person requiring wheelchair access. I made an internet booking through booking.com & staff telephoned me to find out my exact requirements upon them receiving the booking.
Review 52:The lights were a bit dim and the bed a tad hard but that's really just personal preference anyway.
Review 53:Room was modern, clean and nice. We left pillows behind and they were extremely helpful in posting them back.
Review 54:Was neat and tidy but not clean. And the screen door was difficult opening and closing causing my daughter to cut her finger badly ,making it a pain for the rest of our stay.
Review 55:Great location. Beautiful setting.
Review 56:A but too far away from everything. Would prefer more central location on our next visit.
Review 57:Great breakfast for family, lovely gardens, good games room for kids. Nice quiet area, even though it appeared fully booked there was very little noise from other guests. Rooms nice and clean.
Review 58:I wouldn't call it a bad experience but front desk staff over efficient and unfriendly. No smiles and no pleasantries were exchanged at all. Impersonal and made you feel like just a number. Definitely room for improvement here.
Review 59:Location was excellent with amenities close by although evening restaurant would have been helpful. Breakfast arrangements wonderful and fantastic choices. Rooms clean and well serviced with friendly staff here. Gardens beautiful. Quiet location.
Review 60:Very well presented room with quality furniture. Gorgeous gardens. Loved the view from our balcony and from the breakfast room. Good choice for breakfast. Accessible parking.
Review 61:Excellent place to stay during the Leura Garden Festival - good buffet breakfast included & lunch available. Shuttle bus to other gardens & town centre valuable as we travelled by train. And their garden was very interesting.
Review 62:Lunch at Olive restaurant although convenient was unremarkable. On the whole the accommodation was good but overpriced.
Review 63:The room was warm and comfortable and electric blankets were a big plus.
Review 64:no restaurant opened during this week cracked wash basin no security chain on the door
Review 65:good staff comfortable great gardens next to golf course and bush land superb scenery
Review 66:Shower in bathtub No evening meals in restaurant for the days we stayed there
Review 67:Quiet location Private Balcony Superb buffet breakfasts Lovely bushland setting Live music in gardens for Leura Festival Ample Free parking
Review 68:Soap dish missing in shower, tap leaked. Tea making facilities not filled second day.
Review 69:Airconditioner worked, plus a bonus that we didn't know about a microwave was supplied .
Review 70:The restaurant is not open in the start of the week which was a loss as a business as we did not want to go out for tea every night and Leura is a cafe society not much open at night either
Review 71:Good location with great garden and decent rooms
Review 72:Nice comfy bed, very quiet area, garden view from room was lovely. Would have enjoyed a walk around the gardens especially as it was starting to reach its peak with Spring but my stay was short.
Review 73:The breakfast staff were very nonchalant and disinterested, just a small thing, but in catering there are two ways to present
Review 74:All round great experience, Leura is a joy and the weather was very kind
Review 75:"Family" room shoe-box size - hardly any room to move between beds and one chair to sit on. "Limited cooking facilities" consist of a microwave, a kettle, and four cups and saucers - no plates, no other crockery. No sink. No kichen towels. Postage-stamp sized bathroom with tired interior and clumsy shower over bath. "Free pay tv" contains about 5 basic and uninteresting channels. Very ordinary buffet breakfast. Additional facilities - wonky and uneven pool tables, a tired pinball machine...."Great Family resort"? "4.5 star rating"? Really?
Review 76:Beautiful location. Friendly staff.
Review 77:I think the curtains need an up date. They were ripped and falling down a little.
Review 78:Every thing was lovely. Your breakfasts are fantastic. The gardens gorgeous and very friendly staff.
Review 79:The cooked breakfast included with the accomodation was outstanding till 10am so it made for leisurely start to the day.nThe beautiful gardens. A very comfortable room with great bed and lovely bathroom.
Review 80:We had to park in the street on the first night as the car parks were full, we were not impressed with this. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7am. The first day it did not open till 7.15am which made us late for a trip we had booked. Also the male staff member who unlocked the entry door opened it briefly then as my wife walked through let it go & it slammed in her face. We thought he was very rude & he said absolutely nothing to the guests. Also the heater in our room did not work the first night & it was very cold.
Review 81:The room was nice, clean & comfortable and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 82:There was definitely a sense of the dining room being short staffed at breakfast. Serving spoons were missing, we had to ask that the muesli be topped up, the staff were run off their feet, especially on the Sunday morning as the house was full.
Review 83:We especially enjoyed the opportunity to attend the theatre/dinner evening. The cast who put on the performance of Blackadder were wonderful and the meal served that night was excellent.
Review 84:A few things bought the property down. On each of our curtains they were hanging down off track. The vanity had 2 cracks in it and the towel rack was out of order. We had to ask for the hot breakfast food to be replenished. Don't seem to monitor this closely.
Review 85:Location great and surroundings beautiful. Quiet at night. Deluxe resort room good size.
Review 86:didn't know reception sold pain killers and suffered with headache all morning. self-inflicted so no-one to blame also trees outside gave my allergies a workover
Review 87:early check in nice breakfast decent coffee
Review 88:A bit disappointed with the breakfast selection. Blue mountains offers an amazing range of fresh products which are obviously not used on the breakfast buffet. It would be nice to see more variety and better quality produce.
Review 89:Room very comfortable and clean! Bed was amazing!
Review 90:Although the bathroom had been renovated one bracket for towel rail was broken so could not be used and the toilet seat was loose. The air conditioner was also faulty. When we reported these issues in the morning the staff member was apologetic and said she would arrange to have maintenance fix the problems.
Review 91:Always a pleasant place to stay - comfortable beds and a good breakfast.
Review 92:Room was very comfortable and all the facilities we required. Bathroom was superb. Breakfast was pleasant and staff were extremely friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend your resort.
Review 93:Small amount of mildew in the shower
Review 94:Staff very friendly and helpful. So much to do,I wish I had been there under happier circumstances so I coulg enjoy everything.
Review 95:Great place in a great location. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and supplied with reverse cycle air conditioner and electric blankets to keep warm in winter. The Buffet Breakfast was fantastic! Will stay there again if I visit the Blue Mountains again.
Review 96:My first impression of the resort was rather negative, as it looks very much like a motel from the road - which doesn't justify the cost! Also, the bathrooms were badly in need of an upgrade.
Review 97:I booked 3 beds for my family; I was pleasantly surprised to find they were in two separate rooms! I also loved the garden setting, and the views from the breakfast room.
Review 98:Restaurant not opened on a week night. No beer or wine in fridge after a long drive. Had to go and find somewhere to eat in the fog and rain.
Review 99:Breakfast was excellent
Review 100:The staff were extremely helpful when we raised issues as to the television. As we were only there overnight we did not have opportunity to evaluate other resources.
Review 101:Little things count. A shortfall was little to no coffee & sugar, no spoons in room. Breakfast, tasty, but containers rarely topped up.Staff just walking around.
Review 102:Loved the location, rooms comfortable. Friendly staff.
Review 103:The standard family room was cramped, the aircon didn't work properly, the bathroom was old and dated with black mold and the shower didn't have any pressure. If these rooms do not improve I will not stay there again. I think you could get better value in the rooms for your money in the blue mountains.
Review 104:The food was great and the catering staff in the restaurant and breakfast area were friendly and efficient and helpful.
Review 105:Bed uncomfortable, 1/2 electric blanket working, A/C not working. Breakfast area-wait for table or option to sit outside in cold. Ran out of food, cups, saucers regularly. Not enough staff to cope. Certainly not a 'deluxe room' with breakfast experience. Oh and toaster went on fire. Not to mention couple who requested a table for 8 then only the two of them sat there for almost an hour whilst other guests had to wait outside - two others joined them after an hour!
Review 106:Good location
Review 107:I found the place needed updating. The rooms where dark because of the dark furniture. The bathroom with a fan heater on the wall?? This could be improved.
Review 108:Location & rates for our stay
Review 109:Airconditioner in room 103 had a fan problem and would only run on high speed which was a bit loud for compfortable sleep . My stay was for two nights and the room was only briefly cleaned and Food items were not restocked daily.
Review 110:Rooms were clean and the included hot breakfast was a big plus
Review 111:We've been here several times and its starting to get old. This time the double bed had a lean on it, so much so I had to sleep in the single while my wife tried to stay on one side of the double by herself. Also the house keeping wasn't what it should be.
Review 112:Been here several times and have enjoyed the buffet breakfast each time. This is why we keep coming back.
Review 113:The beds and pillows were so comfortable. It snowed the day before we arrived so it was very cold. Loved the electric blankets. It was also very quiet. So peaceful.
Review 114:The member of staff telling us that there was a free bus into Leura, so that we stood at the road for 30 minutes in the cold weather for a bus that never came. But all the other staff members were very helpful
Review 115:The lounge room with the fire
Review 116:No instructions on how anything in the room worked. Inverter inadequate for the size of the room (we were never properly warm - my partner had to sleep in her long johns).
Review 117:Convenient location
Review 118:My girlfriend and I were staying in a deluxe resort room. To me, the room was too expensive compared to what it actually is. The photos were attractive, but the room was underwhelming when we actually saw it. in reality. The room was a bit old fashioned for us (while the photos suggested a more modern design), and the bathroom was just OK. The staff at the hotel were OK, but the ones at the restaurant were not very friendly. The restaurant menu and food were below average too.
Review 119:The location is good, very quiet and very close to blue mountains attractions.
Review 120:Staff was friendly enough but more done it a million times and this is the drill thank you enjoy your stay . Bye. And wifi on your phone works....but not your computer if you had a need for it. Breakfast was very average was really looking forward to it and yeah nah ,was cold and bland, didnt finish it.
Review 121:Was beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable. Needed some r n r and was perfect for that.
Review 122:The little occasional table had bad stains on it so thought it hadn't been cleaned. However scrubbing it myself found out it was just bad stains.
Review 123:The breakfast was fantastic. Great selection of things which kept us going all morning!
Review 124:The stained chairs, carpet and the curtains were coming off the hooks and cup stains on the small table and bedside drawers. One odd thing after our first night we did get a clean bath mate and one face towel but not bath towels, would be great to get fresh towels too.
Review 125:The modern bathroom, the electric blanket. It was clean.
Review 126:Warm, comfortable and clean rooms & bed. Excellent buffet breakfast and professional, helpful staff. Good range of onsite facilities with indoor areas, activities and beautifully maintained gardens.
Review 127:Wifi connection seemed a little poor. Couldn't load websites or video content. Last minute breakfast around 10am and the fruit and juice station wasn't replenished. However all other stations were up kept until we left.
Review 128:Beautiful surrounds and cosy place. A bit off the beaten track from the shops, good if you are driving otherwise like us we walked to and from the trains. Love the room and friendly staff
Review 129:Overall dated room, especially bathroom/toilet. DVD library was extremely disappointing. No pay TV or ability to pay for new release movies.
Review 130:Staff were friendly & helpful.
Review 131:I had to log in to the WiFi all the time. Usually I can do this once at a location and it remains in place. At this accommodation, I had to do it all the time, even when I didn't take my iPad out of the room, but just used it later.
Review 132:The girl on reception was fantastic and extremely helpful. The breakfast was well presented, nicely cooked and there was plenty of it.
Review 133:Stayed for 1 night only on a Sunday. Both restaurants were closed & there was no bar or lounge open in the hotel. Mini bar in room was very poorly stocked & Wifi extremely slow. Went for buffet breakfast at 9am, no clean glasses or cutlery available. Had to ask for bread & butter to be restocked as well. Breakfast staff were not at all friendly or apologetic.
