Set in a renovated, 18th-century house, Quinta do Terreiro is surrounded by a lush garden which includes an apple cherry orchard. It also has an outdoor pool and a tennis court.
Rooms and suites at Quinta feature a rustic décor, including stone walls and wooden beds. Each has a satellite TV and private bathroom. Some rooms have a separate seating area with sofas and a fireplace.
A freshly prepared buffet breakfast is served daily. Lunch and dinner are also available if requested 1 day in advance. Quinta’s large dining room opens onto a balcony with views of the mountains.

Review 1：Double bed too small for 2 people and mattress must be urgently changed. A king size bed is the ideal for the size of all rooms there / enough space for it, since I stayed more than once at this hotel.

Review 4：We stayed at the Quinta do Terreiro for 11 nights in July 2015 and it was the perfect base for touring the Upper Douro Valley. The standard of accommodation and food was excellent; air conditioning quiet and efficient; breakfast on the terrace overlooking the village of Lalim made a great start to our days; the garden around the pool was a haven of rest and seeing the swallows in flight in that area in the late afternoons a most memorable experience; evening meals deliver a high standard of food and wine. This hotel, in a family home, has a wonderful and warm atmosphere and the owners deserve commendation for the service they give.

Review 6：It was an amazing place to stay. One of the best places I have ever stayed in and I have traveled in 53 countries. It was such a unique experience. I felt like a queen in a mansion. The room was stunning, the pool perfect and refreshing, and the views were beautiful.
Review 7：No external front door key meant that the staff had to come and let you in every time no matter the hour! Limited Internet facilities and the general sitting rooms would have been inadequate if the hotel had been at all full.

Review 11：We spent two weeks traveling around Portugal/Spain and this was by far the best accommodation we found. Everything that should work worked perfectly: cleanliness, food quality, internet, integration of modern comfort with an old building, well-written and instructive tourism information about the region... But there was something else, which did not have to be there for it to be a good place, but it was: the staff were outstandingly tactful. Everybody seemed to have the training for making us feel simultaneously welcome and free to enjoy the place. There are plenty of places were owners and staff end up being obtrusive in their attempts to please customers. This did not happen at Quinta da Torre. These folks know what they are doing and let's hope they continue doing it for a while. We really look forward to coming back.
Review 12：The staff is kind and helpful. Just few km from Lamego, in the middle of a very small village. I had breakfast on the terrace, the air was still with the green mountains all around. It's ideal if you want to visit the Upper Douro.

Review 21：No restaurant facilties for an evening meal during our stay even though a restaurant service by prior arrangement is advertised, which means travelling to Tarouca or Lamego to get a meal, however following our complaint an evening meal was offered to us for 2 nights out of the 6 booked

Review 25：Everything was good. Beautiful place, friendly, very clean, good food. We stayed 6 days and enjoyed it very much. Sara and the other staff made us feel at home. The villagers very nice people, welcomed you and we even had a drink and nice conversation at the local café. Wonderful!
