Reviews for Le Riad Meknes

Review 1:Real RIAD with beautiful garden. Accommodation in traditional style in the middle of Medina. Wi Fi excellent quality in the common room. Excellent breakfast on the terrace included. Attention : correct GPS position is 33.892611, -5.560145

Review 2:Unfortunately the place was difficult to find, and the place had a bad smell on entry. The pool looked like it hadn't been in use for a while and the staff weren't very welcoming. We were expected to pay upfront for our stay without seeing our room, which we refused. The general decor of the place is beautiful but very very tired. Our bathroom had seen mch better times with a tap that appeared to come off once you tried to turn it on. The feel of the place was ghostly as we were almost the only visitors. This was not helped by surly staff, who were unhelpful in trying to help us orientate ourselves, providing us with a very bad map, and very unhelpful directions. The Internet connection was lame and appeared to be turned off at night. The food was good, though be sure to wipe down your crockery as it may har been laying in the dust for some time before use.

Review 3:Lovely decor.

Review 4:It was a bit difficult to find because it is in the middle of the dar elkbira labyrinth, but that also had its charm. Shower was not amazing.

Review 5:It was great! The room was beautiful, and breakfast delicious.

Review 6:Steps to upper floors were steep. Shower over bath was passable at best - drainage from the bath was slow (this was resolved by removing the filter in the bottom of the bath)

Review 7:We stayed here for 3 nights and really loved the place - although aging it had great ambiance and character. The garden area where we had breakfast and dinner was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the two dinners we ate there were very nice. We had a spacious room on the second floor and we able to obtain wifi access at all times - though access was faster in the garden area. We found the location in the Medina was great and found it central to all the places we wanted to see.

Review 8:The beauty and style of this riad were just a couple of the ingredients which made my stay in Meknes so pleasant. The owners of the riad were quite but very nice people with good hearts. It's a tricky riad to find in the Old City however if you spend a small amount of MAD on a street porter they will guide you to the front door and they'll also trolly your bags at the same time to take the weight off your shoulders. GREAT PLACE!!!

Review 9:- very difficult to find - staff is not as warm as expected - room cleanliness

Review 10:- riad accomodation is nice, much better than hotels - good food - swimming pool in meknes in august is very useful

Review 11:The rooms were windowless, the bath and shower were awkward and difficult to use. The plumbing was disconnected in the sink and it flooded the bathroom. Worst of all, the staff were atrocious, unprofessional, unhelpful and rude. We had to scream at the top of our lungs to find anyone to help us. Dreadful.

Review 12:The gardens are very beautiful and there is an absolutely lovely mini swimming pool which is refreshing and pleasant.

Review 13:The dinner and the reception by the staff

Review 14:The location, the rooms, nice garden.

Review 15:Terrible location. Had to pay a neighborhood kid to help us find the Riad which is in a residential area. The rugs were dirty and the bathroom smelled like mildew. The restaurant had very bland food. The staff did not speak and any English and no one was ever at the service desk, you have to search for them. Definitely would not recommend!

Review 16:Beautiful decor throughout and the breakfast was good.

Review 17:A little bit cold in the room.

Review 18:Astonishing, nice, peaceful and really well-decorated Riad with an incredible kitchen...fall in love with the food they offer. Nice staff working there.

Review 19:The bath sink was too small and the water was not running through. The water pressure drops during busy hours. Bed was too noisy. There aren't anything else not to like.

Review 20:Incredible atmosphere in the garden and the balcony. We loved the design of the riad. The rooms are spacious with very beautiful wall engravings. Very kind staff. The gentleman with glasses spoke good English and was very polite. The lady did not speak any English but acted very helpful and kind. The restaurant in the Riad itself is actually a famous one and it has delicious tajine and couscous, the prices were 120-160 MAD per menu with soup and fuits. The breakfasts were good also.

Review 21:- At first sight we didn't like the hotel and we asked to see the rooms before we pay, but of course we were told that according to the booking.com regulation you have to pay whether you stayed or not. - One night when we returned to the riad, no one answered for a long time, the a grim looking man opened the door, he seems the owner or the manager, he didn't say a word and when we entered, he called Miriam to see for what we need.

Review 22:- The rooms are spacious, old furniture but in good state. - Miriam who works there is the key for the success of this riad, she does everything; checking you in, opens the door and serves breakfast. I think without this lady, this road will not continue. - the breakfast was really good and the pancakes were so tasty.- - the wifi worked in our room although we were told that it worked only in the reception.

Review 23:our "welcome" when we arrived was harsh - no willingness to speak or understand anything than French - we felt like intruders not guests, pool was not working - but it was not hot enough for a bath anyway, location shown by booking.com was totally wrong, AC worked but remote control did not work

Review 24:great garden, spacious room, great breakfast in the garden - even with Tajine-fried eggs, after we complained about a few things (see below) we got a fast feedback and when the staff had changed the next day everything was great, no alcoholic drinks but we could bring our own wine for dinner

Review 25:We made a reservation but when we knocked at the door we did not feel very welcome when the staff opened the door. We came because of the swimming pool but there was not water inside anymore. Inside the riad it is dark, it did not feel comfortable to me.

Review 26:The first night we got a room with no light in the bathroom, not toilet paper and above all, NO AIR CONDITIONING (with 49° outside!). However, the day after they moved us in a fantastic room. At the check-out, they did not have the change, so they kept 20DH more than the sum due. Even though it is a small amount of money, I found it bad-mannered. At midnight, if you want to spend some time in the terrace, you simply can not! They switch all the lights off: it seemed to be in a boarding school

Review 27:The staff was kind, even though a not-well coordinated.

Review 28:!To complicated place to arrive into !A bit old

Review 29:Great position in the medina! !Beautiful place

Review 30:The atrium where we had breakfast was beautiful- breakfast was excellent! The rooms are traditional and clean.

Review 31:Large spacious rooms, great food, nice pool and garden areas. Loved the welcome Mint Tea and little pastries!

Review 32:Tv did not work. The plumbing was awful. The food did not live up to theits reputation.

Review 33:Attractive to look at and large room.
