Reviews for Quinta De Tourais

Review 1:This is a wonderful Quinta, very close to Regua, with friendly staff, great food and wine and gorgeous surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and extremely pretty. Can't wait to go back.

Review 2:Only problem was the bathroom door handle which kept coming off making it difficult to shut door!!!

Review 3:Hosts very helpful in recommending places to visit and best routes. Brilliant breakfasts with home-made jams.

Review 4:Our spacious, cool room and beautiful bathroom with grape bathing products were very comfortable during our 2 day stay. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening enjoying the peace. We toured around the region during the day with the amazing tips the owners gave. The breakfast was amazing with fresh juice and a stunning view. The owners are incredibly friendly, make delicious wine and make you feel at home. Also their pool was amazing because of the 30+ weather. Best stay of the whole holiday!

Review 5:Trying to find it- Lamego is not where it is. It is 3 minutes from the Regua bridge.

Review 6:Location,ideal for touring the Douro valley. Breakfast on the terrace- wonderful. The owners- very helpful. The wine tour- brilliant.

Review 7:Not good air circulation in room

Review 8:Extremely gracious, helpful, accomodating and lovely family. Made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Manuella and her sons went out of their way to please and help. Offered good dining and sightseeing suggestions. Greeted with a glass of their own wine, given a tour of their winery, beautiful views by the pool and a lovely quiet courtyard.

Review 9:Nothing bad, but the wifi is not available in the bedrooms which made things a bit of a hassle dealing with my NZ colleagues in the middle of the night. Manuela's restaurant is fantastic and Fernando's winery & wine tasting lovely.

Review 10:The friendly hosts went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay and Douro Valley experience including often ferrying us to and from Regua

Review 11:If like me you enjoy drinking wine but also learning more about its production, this place will be like heaven. The sugar on top is an incredibly welcoming family that is always striving to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Review 12:The room has a good size and is confortable but is rather dark. The bathroom is clean but simple. No wifi in the room but good connection in the rest of the premises.

Review 13:Very warm welcome by the host family. They do their utmost to make you feel at home and give tips for excursions and dinner.

Review 16:Convenient location, comfortable room, lots of communal space and extremely helpful hosts. Pity the weather wasn't good enough to make use of the pool.

Review 17:WiFi only worked on the patio just outside our room.

Review 18:Very warm and welcoming Quinta surrounded by vineyards with plenty of parking on the grounds once you’ve pass through the gates. Manuela and her family are very warm, accommodating and helpful. The room was very large and clean. You can tell that all this was completely renovated from scratch. The entire premises are beautiful with the rooftop views, the swimming pool and the dining rooms. We had dinner one night at Manuela’s restaurant in Regua and we were driven there and back. What excellent service!! Not to mention that it meant we could have a good bottle of wine for dinner without worrying about driving. Manuela recommended a Douro boat trip in Pinhao that was wonderful. Fernando (Manuela’s brother) the winemaker makes some really nice wines and was a tremendous help in planning our wine touring schedule. Finding the Quinta was a bit of a challenge as they are not really in Lamego proper and have no address, so use their coordinates (GPS: 41° 9´ 8´´ N 7° 47´ 48´´ O). We will definitely be back as our 3 day stay in the Douro Valley was much too short.

Review 19:The only problem was my fault for not booking at least 2 nights here.

Review 20:I have never felt more welcome while traveling abroad, the wholeexperience was absolutely fantastic. The family was so warm andgenerous, from the moment we arrived to when they dropped us at thetrain station, I did not want to leave, it was just an absolutelyfantastic day and I couldn't have asked for anything else, I have tofigure out the next time I can make it back. This was by far the bestpart of the whole trip to Portugal.

Review 21:The accommodation was excellent , the breakfast was great and full of local produce. Both Manuela and Fernando were very good hosts and very helpful with touring tips.

Review 22:Manuela and Fernando raised the hosting business to exceptionally high levels!! Fabulous place, exquisitely maintained, lovely location, spacious, quiet and well equipped rooms. The whole concept is amazing. Help yourselves: wine available for tasting; prepare your own home-made food in a most charming, traditional kitchen. Vineyards abound all around the place. Feel immersed.

Review 23:View only available when on top floor and having passed through main house to back area. Breakfast was very simple. It would have been nice to have had the opportunity for a yogurt or eggs or something other than bread, cheese and ham.

Review 24:Large rooms Very nice bathrooms Excellent common room and kitchen Very pretty property

Review 25:The breakfast could be a bit more extensive. The pool is a bit small which could be an issue if all guests want to make use of it, but well im just trying to make stuff up now.

Review 26:We just stayed for one night at this quinta but everything was perfect. Somehow there was a mix-up with our reservation but the owner luckily still had a beautiful room available. The room was very spacious, everything spotless and had a very comfy bed. The breakfast was fine on a lovely patio. The hosts are very friendly and we enjoyed the wine tasting with the other guests. Overall Quinta de Tourais is a beautiful and very peaceful house on a good location to explore the region.

Review 27:It is the perfect location to relax and visit other Quintas in the Douro Valley. Recently renewed and furnished with style, familiar ambiance and very quiet (it has just 3 rooms). Wine tasting on request, possibility to use the kitchen. They could even provide gluten free breakfast for us!

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:We had a very nice experience at Quinta de Tourais. It is a wonderful place, we had direct contact with the owners which were very polite and prepared an excellent breakfast close to the swimming pool, and personally showed us the vineyard at Douro region

Review 30:When discovering this accomodation on the booking.com platform the Quinta De Tourais already sent us into transports of delight. Upon our arrival we then were ravished by it and felt it a privilege to stay there. It is very close to a town yet with the view being directed towards the river and the surrounding vineyards it is just the place of beauty, harmony and peacefulness we were looking for in the Douro valley. The Quinta is stunning, full of both traditional and contemporary art. The bedrooms and bathrooms were more than comfortable. A beautiful huge kitchen is offered for guests' service as well as a sitting room. We spent an afternoon in blissful serenity at the pool admiring the views of the Douro. We felt very much at home with the hosts being very attentive but yet discreet. And after the wonderful breakfast we were finally convinced that we could spend our lifetime at this unique Quinta but had to leave wishing to return soon...

Review 31:In the middle of the Douro valley, a few minutes from a town with lots of restaurants. Outstanding view, and friendly staff. Simply the perfect place to stay.

Review 32:The Quinta is beautiful and very comfortable. Our bedroom was immaculate, with a great walk in shower. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Manuela was a delightful hostess.

Review 33:Only that the local town is Regua - a bit of a dump in an otherwise gorgeous region (and dead at night)

Review 34:The hostess - D Manuela Room Breakfast Pool Parking The fantastic gran reserva tinto Just about everything was great

Review 35:The hotel was a little difficult to get to.

Review 36:Rooms were clean, staff was very helpful

Review 37:Our room had no windows, other than on the entrance door

Review 38:Lovely property with gorgeous views.

Review 47:Excellent location to explore the Douro Valley. Hospitality was second to none - made to feel you were part of the family.

Review 48:Beautiful small winery with fantastic views over the Douro valley from its pool and terrace. Great location and staff.

Review 49:Wonderful hospitality great breakfast with their own produce comfortable atmospheric room pool their own wine great recommendations re the area

Review 50:Nothing, nothing.

Review 51:Warm welcome, excellent room, breakfast on THE patio. Region had a lot of sites to discover.

Review 52:Idyllic place, spotless room, friendly owners - I would definitely go again!

Review 53:Beautiful location in the Duoro Port country, close to vineyards and tasting rooms, countryside

Review 54:Just perfect! An excellent room! Excellent hostess and staff...and everything else! Nice Port wine!!!!! You better taste it!

Review 55:The rooms! They have no windows and the bed is extremely uncomfortable. I ruined two nights of my vacation trying to sleep on it. The fact the rooms have no windows makes you feel like you're sleeping in a box, which was disconcerning so I had to leave the bathroom door adjar forthe night to have some sort of light source.

Review 56:the owners were extremely pleasant and bteakfasts were delicious

Review 57:Nothing -- absolutely loved it all!! Obrigada!

Review 58:This was our favorite stay in 3 weeks of travel. The location is ultra-scenic and convenient to Peso de Regua just across the Douro. The quinta is beautifully landscaped and furnished, abounding in excellent original art. Our room was attractive and very comfortable. Best of all, the hostess and her son are warm and friendly, offering every kind of hospitality one could wish for. And the breakfast is A+!

Review 59:Nothing!

Review 60:Such a lovely stay! We were made to feel at home right away. The views are amazing and the whole place is completely relaxing. We had a beautiful large room, which was great value for money and seemed brand new. It's a great base to drive around and explore the Douro Valley. Manuela gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations, too! Would recommend.

Review 61:A very nice place to stay, good location, extremely friendly people, fantastic breakfast and dinner together with the family. For a bed and breakfast : this is a bargain. Just top !

Review 62:Amazing room, amazing kitchen (the best kitchen in the DOuro if you want to cook gourmet meals o yourself), amazing hospitality and amazing breakfrest (everything is local)

Review 63:Nothing at all

Review 64:Manuela and her family went out of their way to make us feel at home. She really understood our taste and priorities, and recommended the right activities, food, experiences. The place is beautiful, stylish and homely at the same time. Access to the kitchen was a great bonus, so we could enjoy an "al fresco" dinner on the lovely courtyard.

Review 65:Absolutely nothing

Review 66:Where to start. If you visit this region you must stay with this very hospitable family. Manuela could not do enough for us, a very kind and thoughtful lady. The setting was out of this world. Just two small roads outside, very quiet. The accommodation was high class and you are welcomed into their home which is beautifully furnished as if you are a long standing friend. Lovely patio with small swimming pool. Large kitchen you can use to store and make your own meals if you prefer. Help yourself to oranges grown in the courtyard. A 'home from home'. If you need any help with where to go etc. you only have to ask. They are wine producers and have their own winery, the surrounding hills where they grow their own grapes. A half hour walk into town (keep to the edges) where lots of shops, eateries etc. We definitely want to go back as so much more to see. We spent three nights there.

Review 67:Fernando is an amazing host, as well as Manuela. If one likes to cook there is a fully equipped kitchen available that as every possible utensil with a dinner room attached to it. Try the wines from Tourais, aptly called Tourónio and Miura. The Rosé is particularly surprising. The winery will set you back a 20m walk from Peso da Régua centre. Fernando recommended us the tapas bar Tasquinha do Jeréré, which ended up being a highlight of our stay. Its hard to pick a better place to stay than Tourais, the pool is very quiet as are the rooms.

Review 68:A very nicely renovated old building; fantastic welcome by the ownersManuela and Fernando, lovely wine from the property and wine-tastingwith the winemaker, Manuela's brother, very nice breakfast withfreshly squeezed orange juice, pool area with a pleasant view of thevineyards, being able to prepare our own food in a kitchen set aside forguests, lovely outdoor patio, dogs accepted, free wi-fi in public areas, free private parking.

Review 69:Beautiful location! We felt very welcome and were offered a drink when we arrived. Wine was brewed next to our room and we were invited to taste it at night. Very charming swimming pool. Delicious breakfast with fresh orange juice and home made marmalade and local cheeses. It's close to Peso da Regua were you have a lot of restaurants. She advised us a tour with the car in the region and it was astounding!

Review 70:swimming pool is very small and Cambres itself has little to offer, though it is only a short drive to the river at Regua. The property is rather boxed in by roads, as are most in that part of the Douro Valley closest to Oporto. .

Review 71:The property was beautiful and the family very relaxed, welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed long chats sitting with Manuela who is the ideal hostess. The room and bathroom were perfect and her brother gave us a friendly wine-tasting.

Review 72:Lovely stay @ Quinta de Tourais. Excellent facilities for family and groups. Manuela is an excellent host and very friendly always concerned with guest welfare. I would recommend this to everyone who loves Douro and relaxed vacations.

Review 73:...Having to leave such wonderful people and the gorgeous countrysidethey live in!

Review 74:Manuela & Fernando's hospitality and warm personalities. Theytreated us like family, including us in an outing to a neighboring townfor a fantastic outside theatrical performance in the main plaza anddinner with a group of their friends. The evening was one of thehighlights of our Spain/Portugal trip. We had a wonderful andrelaxing three night stay in their beautifully designed quinta. We wouldlove to return during the fall grape harvest!

Review 75:That we didn't stay longer!! Wonderful place.

Review 76:The owners were so hospitable. Very warm and welcoming. They couldn't do more for you. The rooms were very stylish & clean. Beautiful location, we ate a tasty breakfast looking out over the Douro River. Would definately stay here again.

Review 77:We had dinner on one of the nights and I thought it a little over priced.

Review 78:A very tasteful property with great hosts. We were made to feel very welcome and the rooms were comfortabal, excellent bathroom.

Review 79:Please make sure you have detailed directions from Regua. It's not difficult, but you do need to know!

Review 80:Manuela is a wonderful welcoming host. So many spaces to be in and enjoy.

Review 81:The place is difficult to find as the address provided is incomplete. It should clearly state that it is located right on the N222. The GPS coordinates do not fit into a Garmin GPS.

Review 82:Very well located for visiting the Douro Valley. Fantastic view from pool side terrace. Very friendly staff/owners. The meal option is very worthwhile (we had great fish with risotto).

Review 83:Manuela and her family were very friendly and welcoming. Their property is stunning and we had the opportunity to taste the lovely wine that they produce at their family-run Quinta. It is a very relaxing place to stay with a kitchen and lounge area to relax and interact with other guests, beautiful courtyard and swimming pool overlooking the countryside.

Review 84:Absolutely nothing.

Review 85:Extremely Hospitable hosts - it was like we belonged to their family. The views are breathtaking. Completely redone by the architect owner. Just outside Regua - quiet, enchanting - a perfect resting spot and the wine they produce is superb. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Review 86:All Fine!

Review 93:Extremely friendly and helpful people. Excellent food, nice rooms

Review 94:What made the stay memorable was the warm hospitality of the couple managing the place. The room was clean and spacious.
