Reviews for Big Yellow Inn
Review 1:Breakfast was very underwhelming. I almost had tears in my eyes when I found myself staring onto a super cheap sausage patty served on a fine porcelain plate, in the middle of a beautifully decorated dining room, delicately filled with the sounds of baroque music. I wish they served decent breakfast, complete with omelette, bacon and a better choice of cereals.
Review 2:This is an exquisite historical hotel conveniently located close to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon (1-2 hrs drive which is close by Utah standards). Our room was impeccable and tastefully decorated. Wish I could stay there longer. The patio was gorgeous and the natural gas fireplace really helped us to stay warm and cozy through the snowy winter night.
Review 3:Mattress was poor.
Review 4:It was a wonderful experience for those who are tired of the boring, sterile sameness of the typical hotel chain. The facilities, ambience, innkeeper, food all lent themselves to a great getaway.
Review 5:Room was a little warm, understandable at a temperature variable time of year
Review 6:Wonderful breakfast excellent advice on stopping at CedarBreaks Park. private balcony
Review 7:The Big Yellow Inn is a wonderful memory in the vacation of me and my wife in U.S.. Very warm, home-like, tasteful and graceful decoration. Very warm and helpful host family. My wife and I would be sure to come back again.
Review 8:Our host forgot to put the rubber mat back in the tub.
Review 9:Wonderful ambiance. Great room and breakfast. We look forward to returning. Maybe next time we will come for the Shakespeerean Festival at SUU.
Review 10:It was a great B&B. The rooms were both welcoming and spacious. We enjoyed having a sitting room and kitchen available to use. The owner provided a continental breakfast for an early departure. The SUU theatre was within walking distance and a unplanned activity we got to enjoy. It was near Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.
Review 11:Centrally located, very comfortable and welcoming. The roooms are nicely decorated with period furniture. There was a good selection for breakfast and most delicious.
Review 12:Our experience was not bad, but staff could have been a little bit more open and welcoming.
Review 13:It looked just like you would expect a bed and breakfast to look, with gorgeous Victorian furnishings.
Review 14:The inn is beautiful and Scott and Barbara are a delightful couple. Everything was done to make our stay memorable. The location is perfect for attending the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Review 15:The hosts are very knowledgable about the area, and are very gracious and personable. Both of their properties are comfortable, quiet and are decorated beautifully. We stay with them at least twice a year.
Review 16:Room in Basement, should have been told before confirming. TV way too small!, needed more Air Conditioning in room. View of the drive way from the basement window.
Review 17:Beautiful B&B,
Review 18:a little hard to find if you don't know Cedar City. fooled the GPS
Review 19:excellent rooms and facilities old world charm owners on site and very engaging
Review 20:I asked for a quiet room. We were placed in the basement near the guest social t.v. room, and with the main air conditioning unit for the whole building just outside our window. You can hear guest's conversations through the walls. The mattress is old and they have one of those squishy foam pads on top. The bedspread, I assumed, was "vintage" - but it just looked old and dirty. We had no hot water in the evening, nor in the morning for showers, and our towels were damp. They did leave out some granola and a continental style food for us since we couldn't stay for the formal breakfast - which was nice. We wanted to say something about our stay, but it was so early when we left and no one was up or around. After driving over 5000 miles and staying in hotels and B&B's for over 3 weeks - it was disappointing for our last night to be so blah, when everywhere else had been pretty great.
Review 21:Clean. Safe. Walking distance to restaurants.
Review 22:Everything! Room, common areas, breakfast, Scott & Barbara. Anything a guest could want has been provided. Breakfast on the porch was a great way to start the day. Wish they would reprint their cookbook!
Review 23:No complaints at all!
Review 24:This place is really cute and a reasonable place to stay in the area. It is very accessible and has all the amenities you would want from a B&B.
Review 25:In the main room of our suite, the bed was far too soft.
Review 26:Nice B&B in a beautiful victorian house. Unfortunately, we missed the hosts, but their daughter was very dilligent in preparing breakfast. Our suite was very spacious and cozy, with an independant access, a large balcony and an outdoor sitting room. All in all, a very pleasant 2-night stay. Highly recommandable. Should we happen to be in the area again, we would certainly return to the Big Yellow Inn
Review 27:Room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. There was also a library, dining room, porches and balconies, all lovely. Staff was helpful; breakfast not the usual fare with great coffee.
Review 28:The property is not very accessible to handicapped persons, but if you are aware of that before you get there, you will be fine
Review 29:The friendliness of the owners, the location, and the uniqueness of the property
Review 30:there was nothing to dislike.
Review 31:From the minute we arrived and the owner came out to greet us, to the ambiance of the place and brilliantly prepared breakfast buffet, this place is a must for anyone traveling to Cedar City Utah. The owners, Scott and Barbara are marvelous hosts.
Review 32:Printer for the desk top computer did not function and owner could not fix. We really wanted a printout of our next destination property but could not.
Review 33:Everything,what charm.
Review 34:Breakfast was unacceptable to my wife. For some reason it was assumed that the dietary restrictions ,owing to major surgery, applying to myself, also applied to her.She was never asked what she wanted, and received what to her was a meager offering.I should point out that the man of the house seemed solely resposible for breakfast. The bedroom was very congested with furniture, including an upholstered stool in front of a gas fire! I found the building very warm upstairs ,even to the extent of a thermostat fixed at a minimum about 70,and a lighted gas pilot(major safety problem) in the bedroom with no means of shutting off. Cedar City has NOWHERE of acceptable standard open for dinner on a Sunday.
Review 35:Quiet residential location with autumn trees and rock scenery views from balcony. The lady proprietress was very assiduous in trying to find us a place for dinner, gave a lot of local information, and advised on an excellent canyon walk. The building was of very substantial construction, with no noise transmission.
Review 36:None.
Review 37:the house is the single most beautifully decorated house I have ever been to, period. Every corner of the house is decorated with just the right ornaments. Each room has its own style. The owners of the house - an old couple - is super nice and artistic. This is definite worth the money!
