Reviews for Quinta Da Timpeira

Review 1:Unhelpful staff when immediately on arrival we made a complaint about being given the wrong directions by booking.com which had sent us to a location 2 hours drive away. I did ask to see the Owner but he failed to meet me . Disappointing my dinner was in my own opinion barely average but in fairness I did not think it worth complaining as my other complaint had fallen on deaf ears . Cauliflower soup and cauliflower as the main course vegetable. And my roast beef was so well over-cooked and I could have used it as a sole for my shoe !!

Review 2:Nice view and nice property.

Review 3:The following were less positive: - The owner could only speak very little English - The place i situated in the country side, so you need a car to go to a places for dinner.

Review 4:The following things were the most positive about the stay: - Friendly staff - Nice pool and garden - Clean and cosy rooms - A nice breakfast

Review 5:lacking personal touch - never saw any of the people mentioned by other travellers, meals in a VERY cold separate dining pavilion - guests were warming hands over toaster at breakfast which was meagre, dinner was served on cold plates

Review 6:beautiful property, nicely appointed rooms, common area with fireplace, dinner with wine was good with generous portions, friendly server at dinner

Review 7:- small rooms/beds

Review 8:wonderful stay ! excellent ! - very helpful staff , but not pushing - very quiet - classy stay - wonderful dinner possible - excellent breakfast - price/quality very good

Review 9:Bathroom is a but local. For a place where water is of the essence, it wd be nice to see watersaving devices installed.

Review 10:Nice pool but not so much shade as no trees. Lovely grounds and sweet, outgoing staff

Review 11:The beds were a bit squeaky

Review 12:Beautiful location & place, very nice and accommodating hosts. Good breakfast with a lovely view. A very homey feeling.

Review 13:Beautiful garden and rooms in a special location just out of town. All the staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was very good with delicious local wine.

Review 14:The location is quite remote from the town and you must travel by car anywhere. The room was quite small and there was nothing in the bathtub to assist in getting in and out.

Review 15:The place is beautiful, the staff was very courteous, the rooms were clean and the food was good.

Review 16:Had booked twin beds as 6 of us and only one couple, but all double rooms offered initially and one pair had to settle for a double as not enough twins available - ok but a little irritating when had specified in booking.

Review 17:Great value, lovely in all aspects especially in the grounds which are well maintained and with the added extra of a pool. So quiet at night, great sleep. The evening meal was an unexpected delight - we weren't expecting such quality and service - wonderful.

Review 18:The staff were amazing always there to help out and ready with a cold bottle of local wine for us after a long day sight seeing. The Quinta was beautifully presented and decorated. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit and pastries!! We would love to visit it again!

Review 19:Rooms rather small

Review 20:Location in the middle of vineyards and cherry trees, very friendly owner, worth choosing a dinner (great service and value for money), spacious "living room" in front of the rooms

Review 21:A few minor things could help, tea/coffee making arrangements for guests, contact for after hours problems, needs and some more English skills maybe.

Review 22:Lovely place with spectacular views and facilities.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 68:An absolute gem! We LOVED Quinta Da Timpeira from the moment we drove in until we drove out. The staff are impeccable, the home is sensational, the breakfast was more than adequate and we had dinner there as well which was fabulous. The manager is so personable, providing a history on the property which makes you fall in love with all the more. The pool is great, temperature just right. You feel as though you are swimming in the middle of nowhere.

Review 69:Dinner was ok, not great. Wine was good. But it was easy for our first night. Dining room is too brightly lit for our taste.

Review 70:It was like staying with friends at their home for the weekend rather than at a hotel. Vasco, the owner, is a marvelous host and the view is magnificent. Breakfast was truly wonderful. Big selection of fruit, pastry, ham, cheeses and cereal. Excellent coffee!!! Comfortable beds and the best shower we have had in Portugal. Highly recommend this place!

Review 71:Well, it would help if it could be better explained as how to get there. The sign is almost invisible, but I guess this is how it works in Portugal.

Review 72:The location, the view, the staff & at dinner being served by Cesar (?) - attended like in a best restaurant.. The place is super clean & the owner came to great us in person. Just outside Lamego. Feels like countryside.

Review 73:A detail, would just be useful for guests to be able to know in advance that dinner is available but only if booked prior to xxam/pm as would have loved to eat there but our notice was too short; which we totally understand.

Review 74:The place itself, extremely well maintained, amazing view in lounge, attention to detail on decoration, cleanliness, breakfast presentation etc. Very good home made jams!

Review 75:Great hospitality by the owners and their staff in this wonderful place. Very quite & relaxing. Excellent dinner under the "romantic night" formula.

Review 76:Friendly owner who was more than willing to tell us the history of the vineyard. Beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the valley. We had dinner at the estate and can highly recommend. Wine produced on site is delicious!

Review 77:Room relatively small but well appointed. Good breakfast at communal table - other guests were very reserved!

Review 78:Excellent staff and great to meet and enjoy the company of the proprietors. Good food - we had the dinner package and enjoyed all courses and wine.

Review 79:The dinner was average not great.the waiter spoke French,a bit annoying.the bed was a bit hard.

Review 80:Host and hostess were great as was most of the staff. Beautiful location.

Review 81:In the morning there was some condensate on the windows. I guess it was very cold during the night.

Review 82:The holders of the lodge is extremely helpful and nice. He makes time for us to advise our trip through the valley, so we could find some nice places. Moreover he told us about the history of the site. The vineyard is great. Everything is very well-kept.
