Reviews for Riad Yacout

Review 1:The whole riad was exactly what we were looking for - clean, great service, great location but relaxing and peaceful The owner Layla was also very helpful and kind, she made our trip even better.

Review 2:The ambience of the Riad was just perfect. Peaceful, fresh and with service that everyone would be over the moon with! Great tea in the lobby. Had an amazing romantic dinner, which offered seclusion and a nice environment.

Review 3:The first night we were set up in a dirty room with a bed that had been used by other people. The bath (and whole) bathroom was not clean. The swimmingpool was not filled.

Review 4:the location is marvellous. The roofterras is very agreeable

Review 5:If you are unlucky as we very with out first room, then you will most likely hear everything going on at the place. The first room we got was simply split by a door, so we could hear the people's conversation and bip sounds from incoming messages etc as if we very standing in their room.

Review 6:The location is really good close to the medina and the grand taxis going to Moulay Idris and Volobulis. The receptionist very helpful as well. When we complained about being able to hear everything (as an incoming text message in the room next door) the immediately upgraded us to a suite without any hesitation. The restaurant seemed good though we didn't try it, but it was packed the night we very there.

Review 7:My room in the first floor was extremely dark and had no window. Ask for a room in the second floor

Review 8:The closeness to the medina, the open space in front and the roof terrace

Review 9:We had nothing to dislike

Review 10:We really liked interior of riad and our room which was cozy, luxurious and clean. We were actually given a better room than we booked which was very nice :) Personell is kind and helpfull. We also enjoyed a lot the terrace with a nice view over the square.

Review 11:It was easy to find and to reach by taxi, at the same time perfectly located next to the main places to visit. The staff took excellent care of us. The fact there were not too many guests that night was an additional positive point for us. It was quiet and cozy.

Review 12:Door to the room was hard to lock, so the maid always left it unlocked - no real issue as there was a safe for the precious.

Review 13:Excellent location, calm environment, very nice breakfast. Staff always made sure that only guests could get in.

Review 14:Shower sometimes with cold water. Took a while to get it hot, in particular during the day.

Review 15:Great position, few footsteps from the Medina, main landmarks but not very far from Nouvelle Meknes. Extremely kind staff which helped us to arrange a 4WD excursion to Volubilis and Moulay Idriss for a superb price. Comfy bed and nice bedroom. Really nice terrace with mini-pool, sunbeds, garden & tasty breakfast served on the top.

Review 16:Had a room with only windows towards the inner court yard. Very noisy, heard every noice. The room door with lock was needless- every little child could have easly entered the room. No bathroom door.

Review 17:Very clean, evereyone very friendly, great restaurant, enourmous rooftop terrace, great Location, parking directly in front.

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:Nice spacious room, lovely deck, friendly staff, great location, nice breakfast, service at diner very good. Diner ok. Very accommodating with baby

Review 20:Lovely riad with a home/ cosy feeling in the heart of the town, close to all main sites to visit. The staff is extremely nice and helpful (they even upgraded us to avoid street noise). The food (breakfast and diner) was really DELICIOUS! Very handy that we could park in the public square just in front of the hotel.

Review 21:Absolutely amazing Riad, very quiet, tasteful, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The riad is located in the heart of the medina; the perfect location to explore the old city.

Review 22:The pool was very small and the water was really dirty. You didn't want to bath in there. You expect something else at this price...

Review 23:Great position in the Medina with a big parking place in front. Very comfortable rooms with nice interior

Review 24:Lovely and intimate for a group of friends or family. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall feel of the place allowed us to spend a great time at the riad. I would recommend to anyone visiting Meknes.

Review 25:Not real swimming pool. Noisy. After meal in the evening, rather rude asking for payment in cash, heen credit card possibility is there

Review 26:Nice rooftop terrace in middle of town. Clean rooms. Good food

Review 27:Everything! Litterally everything. the reception was so welcoming (we got free mint tea :D) and they speak all languages so well! cleaning was amazing! U finish a cup of coffee they will bring you a new cup with coffee, never the same :) Breakfast was a-m-a-z-i-n-g diner was really romantic too. the people were so nice to help me oganise perfectly a birthday suprise for the girl :). Really inforgetable days.

Review 28:Hamman was not very good. Water temperature issues and I don't think anyone was trained to do a hamman. Wifi was slow.

Review 29:We really liked this hotel. It's quaint and in a really good location. Just 5 mins walk to the old Medina. The room is a good size for 2 people, the bathroom is a bit small but functional. Although the taps do not work very well in the sink to wash your hands and the room smells a lot like camphor. Just keep your window open. We never locked our door or closed the window. Also the hamman is not very traditional and even though the ladies are lovely it is not worth the price.

Review 30:We love everything about it. Whoever read this comment, just book it now! no hesitation!

Review 31:The guesthouse is just perfect! Perfect design and really cozy! Benoit is the kindest host we ever met in morocco. Wish I can give the marks more than 10. It's a pity we can not stay longer! Whoever read this comment, just book it now, no hesitation!

Review 32:It wasn't the riad's fault but there was a lot of street noise coming up from below in our room but we simply just wore earplugs.

Review 33:Layla and the staff were fantastic. They were so accommodating and were lovely to deal with. When we weren't able to book another night due to the riad being full she helped us find somewhere else. We also booked a wine tour with Domaine Da La Zouine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the meals were great. We loved sitting out on the rooftop terrace. We liked that the location was easy to find and there was loads of parking available directly outside.

Review 34:Great location with parking (2 Euro per day) available in front of theRiad and yet very near to all the main things to see. The Riad is verynicely renovated, all in Moroccan style. Rooms look very nice and arecomfortable, although we would prefer to sleep under a duvet instead ofa blanket. Breakfast was ok. The roof terrace is very nice for its viewon the square during the day and at night. We also had dinner up whichwas great for the atmosphere but with respect to the food we would notdirectly recommend.

Review 35:Service left a lot to be desired. It was more of a hotel feeling than a Riad. We had the ground floor and the only ventilation available was to open the window to the front lobby. Breakfast was included however you were limited to one of each item offered including a small wine glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. There was a long wait to check out as the waiter was also in charge of checkout. Stayed at another Riad (Safir) on our final night and the difference in price, service and facility is huge.

Review 36:The room was lovely, but like most of the Riad/hotels in Morocco, it was dimly lit. Parking was available right in front of the Riad for 2 euros. It was clean.

Review 37:We had a wonderful stay at the end of a two week roundtrip thru Marocco. Very friendly staff. Booked an extra night here. The manager's wife is a true henna-artist and painted our daughters hands beautifully.

Review 38:The central style of Riad means that noise and voices of people in sitting area on ground floor travel somewhat and can be heard in rooms

Review 39:Our double room on ground floor was beautiful in terms of traditional decoration and felt opulent. Great Bathroom

Review 40:I was in a suite de luxe, and in some ocasions I bring to the atention of the hotel manager some small details about the maintenance of the room, but all was fixed quickly.

Review 41:Charmy personnel trying to help and very friendly.

Review 42:The staff is very friendly and caring with attention to detail. We were received with a cup of mint tea. :) The Riad is modern, clean and has lovely decor. Great quality/price. We would definitely return!

Review 43:---

Review 44:Riad Yacout was very accomodating to us --- from our late arrival on the first day when we we met with Moroccan Mint Tea, assisting us with a driver to Volubis and Moulay Idriss, providing delicious Moroccan meals throughout our stay, and all around assuring our comfort. Our room was a good size and the large bed was very comfortable. They helped us with the train schedules and contacted our next riad in Fes to make sure that our plans went smoothly at our next stop. We would love to stay here again when we return to Meknes.

Review 45:Slightly pretentious owner, but do not tell him that.

Review 46:1,It was not actually in the medina. Taxi to the door. Food was a little expensive in the hotel, but finding good eating near proved difficult. Very nice staff.

Review 47:Heating in the room only just able to cope in January, public areas cold. Windowless bedroom.

Review 48:Close to the Medina but not in it so if you have a car you could park outside. Taxis nearby. Restaurant good but overpriced. Tremendous and multilingual staff. Great roof terrace. Good WiFi.

Review 49:The room was a bit dark. They brought us the milk and coffee already mixed in the cup, without being able to tell how much coffee we wanted.

Review 50:I liked the location, it is very close to the Medina, but quiet. Nice decoration and good disposition of the staff. They also helped us to plan the travel to Volubilis.

Review 51:Wifi in the room is weak.

Review 52:nice and helpful staff, clean and comfortable bedrooms, nice atmosphere. The location is also good, in the medina, but still can park the car in front of the hotel.

Review 53:Instant coffee for breakfast.

Review 54:The enthusiasm of the staff, the friendly owners, the location. Riad has a magnificient terrace, which I think would be very nic e to sit and relax, when the weather is right.

Review 55:Nothing. Everything was great

Review 56:We stayed in the Cherezade junior suite which was very modern and comfortable. The Riad is close to all the attractions. The staff were delightful, and very helpful. We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast on the terrace. The food was delicious, and the price of the food and wine very reasonable. The local people were very friendly also. Thoroughly recommended.

Review 57:Our room overlooked a busy road. A bit noisy, but ear plugs did the trick.

Review 58:Wonderful location. The roof terrace overlooking the square was just magical. The staff were great - friendly and helpful.

Review 59:A very large group of very loud and noisy tourists at dinner made it a nightmare. No fun, romance or relaxation. When checking out we discovered that hotel does not accept credit cards and had to scrounge for an ATM to look for Dirhams to pay for dinner and wine. Nowhere does it say No Credit Cards.

Review 60:Welcome was good and prompt. Room was comfortable. Riad was elegant and simple.

Review 61:Nothing. Although, our room 13 can have one downside during the winter period. The room has a window on a busy street. Double windows keep the sound sufficiently outdoor. To sleep with open window when it is fresh, though, is not advisable.

Review 62:Excellent location, the entrance is on a large square. We could park our car almost in front of the riad. Within the riad it is a heaven of peace, nicely decorated. We had a warm welcome that made us feel right at home. We had room 13 with a bed of more than 2 metres wide! Excellent wifi reception in the room. Breakfast was sufficient.

Review 63:No wifi at the room

Review 64:Friendly staff, very good location, walking distance to medina, easy to find especially if you are travelling by car. Clean rooms. Good food at the restaurant

Review 65:We found a cockroach in our room at the very beginning. Air conditioner was broken, water leaked and ran down the wall. At the same time the smell was not really pleasant. Everyday the same breakfast.. Definitely worst staying in Morocco.

Review 66:Staff was ok. Dinners expensive but worth its price.

Review 67:swimming pool is not a swimming pool it's too small and can be used only for tan/coloring your body

Review 68:The hotel is great point to explore both Meknas & Fez . offer great design , cleanness , friendly staff .. especially Noor El Deen , its so great.

Review 69:The hammam was not so nice, the laundry was expensive. The sink of the toilette was splashing a lot of water on the floor.

Review 70:We liked the position, just outside the medina and easy to find and to park the car. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable and of good size. The staff was very helpful.
