Reviews for Stratford Court Hotel

Review 1:None

Review 2:Actually the Stratford Court Inn is owned by the El Rey Inn and is under renovation so the El Rey Inn put us up. I stayed at the El Rey Inn several times during the winter and spring of 2006 and it was OK but not special. They have terminated their relationship with Best Western and totally renovated the property. It is an excellent facility now and the staff is as friendly and helpful as any hotel I have ever stayed at in the past!

Review 3:I have to admit to being disappointed by the quality of the room. I saw a tv show about the recent renovation of the rooms and got to stay in one of them. Not to be unkind, but there was absolutely nothing special about the room. The decor was very bland and I would say for the quality, the price should be about $10 less per night

Review 4:nice location, comfortable beds.

Review 5:We would have liked to have had a safety mat in the tub to prevent slipping during a shower. We also needed an extra blanket on the bed for more nighttime cool.

Review 6:It was a quiet place to stay, convenient to the town's restaurants and the university.

Review 7:The Front desk staff could not find our reservation and asked us,if we even booked at this Hotel. The Front staff lady said she couldnt help us, we had to wait for the manager.(same happened to some guests next to us). As the manager came, he gave US some room, but could not give US the room keys. We had towait for the keys over an hour. Very unprofessial and annoying. Furthermore the room was extremely cooled down although it was not that warm outside. But as the air conditioning did not heat, it stayed quite too cold in the room. Somewhen they gave us a small portable heater. All in all quite unprofessional and not worth the money.

Review 8:Room was clean

Review 9:Clean, comfortable, convenient, reasonably priced. Walking distance to the theaters for the Shakespeare Festive. Staff was friendly. Older property but in good condition.

Review 10:The room for breakfast is way to small when the motel is sold out! We came down at 9AM and all three tables were filled and other people were waiting for seating. We ended up taking our breakfast back to our room which was unsatisfactory.

Review 11:The facility is clean and the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The location in Cedar City is very convenient to everything we wanted to do.

Review 12:We stayed at this hotel to go to a play at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. There was some confusion at the beginning of our stay because we received keys to a room that was already occupied. Our keys worked just fine, but when we entered the room, someone else's luggage was in the room. That's a little concerning for security's sake. In the room we ended up staying in, the mini refrigerator had clearly been abused - the door didn't shut properly and the knob to adjust the temperature was broken off. The temperature was too low, which caused all the food we put in it to freeze overnight.

Review 13:We had some minor problems, but overall, it is a great place to stay. Within easy walking distance of both Utah Shakespearean Festival theaters. They remodeled since we stayed last year. The lobby and rooms have been updated. It was very clean the staff is extremely friendly and eager to please. We will be staying next year when we return. I would only hope that we don't enter an occupied room again (and that no one enters our room) and maybe some replacement of broken mini refrigerators.

Review 14:There were 2 little yapping dogs on our floor. If We had known dogs were allowed, we would not have stayed there.

Review 15:Location to the Shakespeare Festival was awesome!

Review 16:I had to ask for another set of towels as there were two of us. I had to have a plug for hearing aid batteries and searched the room for quite some time before accidentally finding one.None of the dispensers of soap, shampoo etc. were full.

Review 17:Proximity to the Festival.Close to the street with many restaurants. Price was reasonable.

Review 18:Weekend rates are higher.

Review 19:The weekday rates here are super low. Everything that matters to us was good: bed, quiet, clean, friendly, safe, etc. The breakfast was weak, but for what we paid, no complaints.

Review 20:The early cut off for breakfast. By the time I was ready to leave breakfast was over. You should have it available until check out time.

Review 21:Having convenient items like the blow dryer, soap and shampoo and other needed items available to me.

Review 22:The rugs in the room were thick enough so that you didn't feel you were walking on concrete. The room was large enough for a king bed, full size sofa, and large square area for exercising. The breakfast was good, the bathroom had a heat light, there were an adequate number of electrical outlets, Wi-Fi worked well, it was all good!!!!!

Review 23:Wifi didn't work on my friends iPhone or iPad. Staff wasn't able to help. Room was a bit smelly. Slowest PC ever to use in the lobby. Took 5minutes to load an email.

Review 24:Big beds. Parking.

Review 25:Bed wasn't very comfortable, hallway carpets were quite dirty/stained, doors in hallway slam loudly, decor is outdated, breakfast didn't have any protein options, not even eggs.

Review 26:Room was very clean and well made. Included a mini fridge and hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, coffee maker.

Review 27:Room wasn't available until 5:30 PM even though they knew arrival time was 3:00. Trash in lobby was over flowing and not emptied for two days. The room had a stale smell. Lots of weeds on the street side. Really dirty carpet in the breakfast area.

Review 28:Good bed. Location excellent for Shakespeare productions. Adequate breakfast.

Review 29:We arrived late at night and the staff was great. The rooms were clean and quiet. We didn't use the pool, but it was open. We also didn't get breakfast here (went to the All American Diner up the street which is also a great value and good food).

Review 30:The girl in the reception wasn't so nice and she didn't havemuch patience for our questions and needs. Cedar city was the closestplace that we found to Bryce canyon- and its far. So try find somethingelse if you can.

Review 31:Big, clean and very nice room. Strong wifi. Free parking. Good pool andJacuzzi. Very clean hallways and nice lobby.

Review 32:Reserved and Booking.com confirmation was for a king room, but was told it not available when we checked in. Wi-fi did not work in our room. Staff was pleasant but made no effort to resolve our issues.

Review 33:Breakfast was good

Review 34:Old property, with oddly cave-like, half below ground, thus dank, first floor rooms. Pool dirty and closed. Breakfast room too small to accommodate all guests and not properly stocked. We stayed in double room with two queen beds -- worst was that one of the bed's sheets had not been changed. Spread was up on both beds. When removed, one had clean sheets, the other had obviously been slept in without changing. Mildew smell in bathroom. We were here for one night only, and they did come and change the linens when I pointed it out to them, so it was bearable. However, would not stay here again.

Review 35:Location is only good thing about this motel, as it is within easy walking distance to the Shakespeare Festival. Price is good, too, but the saying 'you get what you pay for' applies here.

Review 36:Rooms are dated and worn. Hotel is in a serious need of an update. New carpet and a paint job would be a huge improvement. Rooms feel dirty because of old carpet, bedspreads and furnishings. Had to call Front Desk to get Housekeeping Service. Did not have my reservation when I checked in, even though I had a confirmation number. Hotel personnel had cancelled my reservation by mistake. Luckily the Hotel was not sold out and reinstated my reservation.

Review 37:Rooms are large and comfortable. Convenient Refrigerator and Microwave in room. Excellent free WiFi connectivity. In town for the Utah Shakespeare Festival and you cannot beat the location. Only 2 1/2 blocks to the theaters.

Review 38:Guest service

Review 39:Breakfast

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Good hotel. Restaurants nearby

Review 42:Broken got tub

Review 43:Like the remodels but every time we've stayed here, the hog tub has been broken.

Review 44:Location, Very good staff

Review 45:Location close to the Shakespeare Festival.

Review 46:Many stairs.

Review 47:Clean. Nice amenities. Well decorated.

Review 48:Musty smell. Needed a good vacuuming job. I could tell the edges of the closet hadn't bed vacuumed for a long time.

Review 49:Beds were comfy. Room was clean and very adequate. Everything that we needed for a layover on our journey.

Review 50:The location is perfect, central to everything in downtown Cedar City. The personnel at check-in were exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

Review 51:The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 52:Perfect location

Review 53:It's very close to downtown, you can walk everywhere.

Review 54:I would prefer to have the toilet separated from the shower

Review 55:The price, the convenient location, the helpful manager

Review 56:The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was an excellent value for a very clean, nice, older establishment. Would definitely go back.

Review 57:Noisy ventilation systems

Review 58:It was dirty and dingy looking.

Review 59:The rooms are dirty and rundown. We will not come back until improvements are made. A half full swimming pool looks awful.

Review 60:None of the heaters worked properly. Very noisy in room kept us awake and bathroom heat lamp didn't work. Turned off room heater part way through night so we could sleep and daughter woke up sick from cold.

Review 61:Check in staff was very nice - even late at night.

Review 62:The outsidearea could have been cleaner but since there was snow on the ground I guess it is cold and the ground were not really maintained.

Review 63:The room was clean and warm. a perfect location from the university. We were visiting Cedar City for a tour of SUU. We had a great breakfast and there was wifi that worked. I have stayed in higher priced hotels where the wifi was spotty.

Review 64:Heater fan made clicking noise. Lamp didn't work either from light switch or lamp. Sounded like a toilet was running above my room.

Review 65:Cheap price for a Cedar City Hotel

Review 66:Not clean no counter space very noisy could hear all water runningthroughout the hotel Each night when sitting by the pool, we were hit bythe lawn sprinklers and the pool gate was banging closed all night long- the pool was open 24 hours.

Review 67:It was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very attentive - especially the young man who kept watch over the breakfast area. The receptionist was also very helpful.

Review 68:Relatively good breakfast. Rooms are spacious although they are a bit outdated. Price/ quality is perfect and the location is very good if you want to visit Bryce Canyon or Zion. Cedar City is quite and there are not much things you can do. I would definitely recommend this place for a few nights.

Review 69:The luggage cart is hard to get through your series of doors to the rooms. funny smell in bathroom I thought was urine but which I think turned out to be the shower curtain. Bed did not get made

Review 70:Easy access to Shakespeare festival. Very good rates. Nice little pool

Review 71:I was very impressed with the hotel. It was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was good. I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world. I would rate this hotel as one of the best. You can tell that they really care. My adult boys had their own room. They also commented on the quality of the facilities. Thank you

Review 72:It's a little older, but still nice. Clean for the most part, butneeded more attention in the cleaning. Details like top of the vendingmachine when you come down the stairs, and vacuum the stairs ;) The roomitself could have more attention paid to dusting detail.

Review 73:Great value! Super close to Shakespearean Festival, which was the reasonfor our visit. I forgot my pillow in the room when we checked out, andthe staff helped get my pillow back! I was super impressed with theirwillingness to help! Thank you!

Review 74:There were tons of bugs in the room and the sink had some blockage.

Review 75:It was within walking distance to the Shakespeare Festival and the front desk receptionist was wonderfully pleasant!

Review 76:The only objection I have, is that the toilet ran continuously because the chain in the tank was too long and blocked the drain.

Review 77:The room provided two queen beds for a fantastic savings. It was within walking distance of my goal, the Utah Shakespeare Festival. This was a pleasantly surprising bargain.

Review 78:The staff didn't make our beds 2 of the 4 nights of our stay, and the reason was because we had some pillows from home on the beds and they couldn't touch our personal items. The air conditioner wasn't very efficient and didn't cool the room very well, and the TV was an old box-style television. So not high definition!

Review 79:The continental breakfast was good with a variety of choices for picky eaters. The pool wasn't crowded and had a nice shady spot to sit and watch the kids swim. It was only 2 blocks from the venues of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the reason for our trip. The beds were comfortable, and I liked the soft white sheets and the lightweight comforters.

Review 80:The room was very quiet for sleeping . Very close to Festival and restaurants .Staff was very helpful with directions and maps for Zions.

Review 81:It was just for one night. So there is not much to add. It was OK.

Review 82:Excelant location close to downtown shopping. Great value for the price.

Review 83:Great value

Review 84:very noisy road and dumpy hallways, stairs, and breakfast room

Review 85:nice bathroom and room was pleasant

Review 91:Clean, comfortable room.

Review 92:In need of makeover. Showed signs of wear.Poor breakfast

Review 93:Friendly staff

Review 94:Fine hotel. Nice to stay after visiting Bryce Canyon.

Review 95:good value for the money

Review 96:No elevator

Review 97:Breakfast is pretty white bread, but breakfast is not why we booked this motel.

Review 98:Location. Great employees. Cleanliness. Convenient location.

Review 99:chairs in room had water stains

Review 100:Location, friendly staff, clean bathroom

Review 101:things are on several levels and no elavators. you enter and either have to climb or decend stairs. carpets torn.

Review 107:No complaints. We just needed a place to sleep and it was perfect.

Review 108:Everything we needed for a comfortable night inbetween nationalpark hikes.
