Reviews for Sandton Hotel Broel

Review 1:The is only one thing which I did not like in this hotel - Towels

Review 2:The hotel is located in the center of the city, nice and clean. The restaurant is very good. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 3:Probably one of the nicest hotel in town (altought the choice is limited, so it might not say much for most). Great breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet area.

Review 4:The swimming pool was a bit cold and the sauna was basic.

Review 5:This hotel has the Broel Towers right outside, also a short walk into the town centre. The room was very clean. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. The staff were very welcoming.

Review 6:Not really a Hilton standard hotel, it looks tired inside and outside. The area around looks rundown and it's a little far out. The sign needs changing and it needs to meet other hiltons.

Review 7:costa coffee

Review 8:No hot water in room meant no shower in morning. Unheard of in a hotel like this. Upon complaint at the desk the guy there hardly looked me in the eye, was very quick to take my money and would "send an email". Of course I got no email, no word of apology or a discount or something else. Very very bad indeed.

Review 9:Original and different styling

Review 10:There is a small probem with parking. You could pay max for 3 hours. Better solution is to find nearby 24 hours parking. We didn't mention Sandton name on the building. Look for Broel Hotel.

Review 11:Nice room. Location close to the old town. Very good breakfast. Pool.

Review 12:When we arrived in our room we found that the cleaner had not been very thorough as the bathroom floor and sink unit was covered in long black hairs.

Review 13:The location of the hotel is fantastic with just a very short walk in to the centre. The room was huge with a lovely Queen size bed that was so comfy. Breakfast was a feast with so much choice and the staff were very friendly.

Review 14:Head Waiter in the evening for dinner was very disinterested and sarcastic, was more interested in his Belgian guests. Cote a Los was tough and cold and expensive.

Review 15:Lovely hotel, good quiet location ,clean .good pillows and beds

Review 16:We felt that our room was too small. There was no room for us to sit on comfortable chairs.

Review 17:The staff were all wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable and thoroughly competent.

Review 18:didn't expect the shower being right next to the bed, the shower was clogged. strange smell on the floors. most annoying: there's no "do not disturb" tag, starting from 10 AM cleaning staff cnocked on the door every hour.

Review 19:good wifi, comfortable bed, clean room

Review 20:The wheater was very hot, more then usual in Belgium. It was a bit to mutch, but the swimmingpool gave some cool down.

Review 21:The location is exellent, close to a cheap public parking, close to the centre (large schopping area), but also near water with a couple of parks a little walk away. Especially the Beguinage is very beautifull.

Review 22:We had nothing to complain about.

Review 23:Friendly and helpful staff. A very clean pleasant room and facilities and a good night's sleep in a very comfy bed. A magnificent choice of food for breakfast and in the restaurant.

Review 24:left postcards at reception to be posted - maybe our unfamiliarity with the post system but they were sent to australia by ordinary mail (slow boat to china). We would expect that they would be sent airmail without us askijg - we thought that common sense should have prevailed.

Review 25:the relaxing atmosphere, quiet locaqtion efficient but not intrusive staff, found it most relaxing being there,

Review 26:The food in the restaurant for the evening meal was served cold, and had no flavor. The cost was not worth it. The Breakfast buffet was empty of hot food stuffs, eggs, etc., no hot coffee, asked several times for several items. Wait staff was very limited and unable to keep up with the people eating breakfast.

Review 27:The room was great, location terrific and the staff were very accommodating in the hotel area..

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Everything especially the breakfast was very very nice.simply excellent and the stuff care of everything...rooms, beds, parking so amazing...normally i m tough client to give such notes but this hotel deserve more than 10 point..

Review 30:Rooms don't look as on pictures therefore we were a bit dissapointed. Not all tv channels worked as installed, by low volume we could beerly hear what was on.

Review 31:Breakfast & service were really good. Attentive and polite personeel . Good location of hotel, nice bar- tender who has pation for making u happy & enjoying your drink

Review 32:first room looked lovely but smelt strongly of smoke, second room bed very uncomfortably , we had to move the second night because first room was an upgrade, third room I think was a punishment for complaining , don't have room 119. We ate in the hotel not very good.

Review 33:Not sure who they label "Two-person" beds... The bed was way too small. Not sure it was even a Queensize bed. Staff explanation was that we had booked a "cozy" room. This was not the case, on booking.com you cannot book a "cozy" room... Frankly inacceptable for the rate that is being charged.

Review 34:Friendly staff

Review 35:not the hotel's fault, but other guests should think about removing their shoes on the wooden floored rooms. We were woken early on Sunday morning by people tip-tapping across floors in noisy shoes. The bar was also very expensive, even during "Happy Housr"

Review 36:location, close to town, but tranquil and pretty

Review 37:The advertisement/hotel description states there is a Gym - but closed more then a year ago - The gym was one of the reason to choose this hotel. The swimming pool's water-stream facility is not working not enough power outlet in the room Vacuum cleaning on the corridors at 7:45. It was too early...

Review 38:Location perfect Easy to park with car (there is a fee, but OK) friendly staff Breakfast had wide selection City center within 5 minutes on foot

Review 39:the "deluxe room" they gave us did not match with the description made on boocking.com. Room was far smaller than expected. Appeared to be lower category. They said, it's the fault of booking.com. We had to pay full price. old tap's in the bathroom. bathroom also a little bit unclean. only one set of towels for two persons. We had to ask for a second pair. noisy rooms. noisy heating during the night. empty mini bar. poor wifi. A very small pool area with only two chairs and no locker. Bar stuff was a little bit lazy or overstrained. A heavy smelliness of chlorine in the whole complex. all in all not worth the price.

Review 40:nice and helpfull Stuff at the front desk nice location nice breakfast

Review 41:Nothing.

Review 42:Everything. Room very comfortable, staff from reception, bar and restaurant all very pleasant. Location opposite Broel Towers superb and only 5 mins walk to the main Grote Market square.

Review 43:view from window was of the roof with wires and cables, sauna was very small and took a long time to heat up, no steam room,

Review 44:location, breakfast, decor of hotel

Review 45:Room service not available

Review 46:Everything was as expected from a small hotel, the decor and feel was very nice. Convenient location to walk to the town etc. We liked it enough to cancel our ferry home and stay an extra night to extend our trip.

Review 47:Parking is not easy. Police is specifically monitoring parking space in front of the hotel (parking max 2h).

Review 48:Nice (historic) location. Good breakfast, nice rooms (old style). Fair price

Review 49:No sugar for the breakfast when you ask the room service to the room, so I did put the honey to coffee instead of sugar :) Not possible to choose what to bring for breakfast. Not possible to make a coffee in the room.

Review 50:I did stay in the suite. Was nice and big, very comfortable. Price is nice. There was a problem later cause I'd ask to stay in the suite but later they said it's not possible. In the morning I did ask again and then I got to stay in the suite. Breakfast well, good prices. I did book the room for 75euro inclusive breakfast, suite 139euro. Cigarets by the reception, which is great cause there is no shop in the neighberhoud.

Review 51:Reception forgot to wake me up in the morning, as an explanation they said the lady wrote the wrong date to the system. I dont known How can one want to be waken up 2 days in advance!! There were unwanted human hair on the toilet so I want check for the bed linens:( There is no Parking place for this hotel you have to go accross the street and pay. Hard job to do with more bagage. You cannot park infront of the hotel as you can park there only for two hours...total nonsence! Shortly, not the hotel of the money.

Review 52:Restaurant is very well. I suggest Cod fish with spinach and a pinot wine. Also beef with potato was incredible! My room was small but seeing the towers. It was great!

Review 53:We were in the same side of the hotel as the swimming pool, on the third floor. The swimming pool was in the basement. There was a really strong smell of clorine in our room. The elevator was noisy and we could hear it in our room although we weren't that close to it. We have stayed in this hotel many years before, and were always fairly happy. Now the style of the hotel does look a bit dated, by Belgian standards. The mattress on the bed was a bit saggy. The restaurant was very busy. My husband had problems with his steak. Took 2 attempts to get it right, and we got a free dessert, and they halved our bill. So this helped make the experience better. The breakfast was fairly good.

Review 54:very good location in town. Had a swimming pool

Review 55:Poor internet (at orangerie)

Review 56:Nice big clean rooms, excellent breakfast Staff can t be more helfull: my car was out of order and the technician specially bought the piece i needed

Review 57:Wifi signal not the strongest

Review 58:We went with a family group of 10 the hotel was really lovely I was pleasantly surprised with it, I would definantly book again and would recommend this hotel.

Review 59:No bathtub despite being stated in the reservation. We had two sets of towels the first night but after cleaning, we were only left with one set of towels for two guests.... Bad wifi connection on the 3rd floor.

Review 60:The hotel offered to change rooms the next day in order to get a room with bathtub. Very good breakfast.

Review 61:Warm in the room, couldn't open the window as i was on the same level as the street, everybody could come in. Noisy room from upstairs shower and elevator

Review 62:Big room, comfortable bed, super breakfast. Ok for ebooking price.

Review 63:Be careful with parking directly outside, it can be expensive if you get your timing wrong. Whilst the river outside looks ok it's a haven for mosquito and not always a sweet smelling as you would wish!!

Review 64:A warm welcome, an excellent breakfast and brilliant Belgian beer! Good wi-fi a clean spacious room. Close to the city centre with good shopping and things to see.

Review 65:The toilet flush and shower can be heard well from other rooms and noice from corridor. I stayed for couple of nights and felt that my staff started to smell a bit like old cellar... however it is an old building.

Review 66:Very impressive interior with lots of Natural stone effects. I would say that most of the visitors would appreciate as being different to other hotels, especially like my Asian colleagues. Breakfast is Good!

Review 67:My only suggestion would be tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.

Review 68:The hotel is delightful with large and attractive rooms. The large bathrooms are well appointed and the bed very comfortable

Review 69:Unfortunately, the Santon Hotel Broel needs some fixing up, an upgrade to the beds and a really good cleaning. The bathroom had moldy tile and an old medieval smell. With some investment into itself, a lot of skilled work and some attention to detail, the Santon Hotel has the potential of being a great stay.

Review 70:Great location near the Kortrijk City Center. Done in the old medieval style, this hotel provides the feeling of stepping back into old Flanders.

Review 71:Hotel is tied and not very well maintained. Service very poor, ordered around of drinks in restaurant while looking at menu, 20 minutes laterstill waiting.... Waiter had forgotten. Limited menu and expensive so weleft. Breakfast good, but plates and accessories dirty. Wifi very slow.

Review 72:Good location, hotel looks good and has a great indoor pool. Car parkingavailable across the road at 6.50 euros for 24 hours.

Review 73:You could not dislike this experience.

Review 74:Very rustic feel about room. Very original and relaxing. A change from the traditional hotel chain style. Excellent experience. Restaurant very good value for money. Service was first class.

Review 75:We had to move rooms as the first one was very dated and the bath had a few chips and cracks in it and no shower ,other room was ok but still a bit dated but clean dressing gowns were stiff as a board towels were just ok swimming pool was very small and looked very smoggy so didn't go in it

Review 76:The staff were friendly the breakfast was very good with lots of choice ,parking was fine lots of spaces ,Brugge is only I hour away by train and it was amazing I would recommend going there

Review 77:Mosquitos, not the hotels fault but use a/c don't open window of a night

Review 78:Spacious clean rooms, excellent breakfast, location five minute walk from centre

Review 79:when we have booked via booking our expierience is that we always get the worst room or the room far away from everything and not alone here but also in other other hotels in the world

Review 80:The location of the junior suite in an other building The orange juice The only difference between a junior suite and a classic room is the space of the room and the bathroom. No more service, no more Equipment.

Review 81:The space of the junior suite

Review 82:Small towels especially in the swimming pool area.

Review 83:Easy walking distance from the centre of Kortrijk, large rooms, swimming pool and sauna open for long hours.

Review 84:not much really

Review 85:just a nice walking distance from centre (4/5 mins) with ample parking around the hotel, good modern bar, excellent breakfast, friendly staff.

Review 86:Spent 3 days celebrating new year there on a package and it was superb.

Review 87:Really lovely

Review 88:All. Hotel the best

Review 89:waffels at breakfast!!!

Review 90:Rooms are in need of some upkeep, and they could be a lot cleaner.

Review 91:The restaurant was excellent

Review 92:no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 93:large room comfortable bed

Review 97:The breakfast was really good ,staff very friendly

Review 98:This place is beautiful. I wish I had stayed longer

Review 99:A really lovely comfortable place to stay

Review 100:The bed was 2 single bed not really double bed

Review 101:The wellness facility and the the hotel interior design

Review 102:Can't fault this hotel at all excellent

Review 103:Price of drinks in bar staff in bar slow

Review 104:Relaxing chilled great location comfortable beds

Review 105:Lovely room.

Review 106:The bar & restaurant staff a little on the surly side.
