Review 1：The junior suite we had wasn't great. Lack of sockets, a poor over-bath shower and a small balcony with old uncomfortable so was glad it was an overnight stay rather than a whole week.

Review 2：Christmas Day in Dona Filipa! I have to say that the Christmas lunch was incredibly good with a set six course meal, each dish evidently had a lot of effort put in for the flavours. The staff in the restaurant were excellent.

Review 18：We had a wonderful time at the Dona Filipa; wanted a pool and to be right on the beach. The Dona Filipa didn't disappoint! Great rooms...we were told that ours was not in the renovated section, but I liked it better with the tile floors. We had a balcony and great view. There were several restaurants to pick from, in the hotel and several in between the hotel and beach. We had a car and it was a short drive to the locale town of Quintiera where we had a great meal one night.

Review 20：Love this hotel its location and general ambience. Been attending this hotel for past 10 years and it gets better and better. Refurbished rooms are excellent and the complimentary champagne, chocolate strawberries fruits and cheese selection were all beautifully presented & and thoroughly enjoyed !! Staff are extremely pleasant throughout the hotel and will go the extra mile. Particular credit goes to General Manager Luis Filipe who is extremely personable and a fantastic ambassador for the hotel.

Review 23：We had paperwork from bookings.com stating we had booked sea and golf course views. We did not get them. Our balcony overlooked the main entrance. The hotel is tired and not to the standard of many other 5 star we have stayed at. No gym on site extra cost off site. The shower was in the bath. Not much entertainment. No table tennis/pool table etc for older teenagers. Poor wifi. Air con out dated and noisy. The Grill restraunt never opened! I believe one third of the hotel was refurbished some time ago but nothing was obvious.

Review 25：The staff we're quite unhelpful and rude on reception. Our room was not ready on arrival and we were told to wait for 40 minutes, we then went back and we were told it would be another hour. We had requested an ''upgraded'' room as half of the hotel has been upgraded and half has not, and we were given a 'non upgraded' room, when asked to change we were told it would be more money even though it was requested on the booking. The hotel facilities were nice, and the location is fantastic for the beach and the praca with the restaurants being a 2 minute walk. We stayed 5 days, and we would stay at the hotel again but more for convenience of the amenities around rather than for the actual hotel. The hotel is very clean, and modern in the reception and bar area, and the breakfasts were nice. We have travelled to lots of lovely places, and I do feel staff can have a huge impact on your holiday and this is something which this hotel would improve upon.

Review 26：A bit noisy in the mornings, cleaning staff get going early, lots of clanking and loud chatter. Front desk staff range from excellent to dour, Nelson the bellman is one of the best, great guy. They should all take a leaf out of his book!

Review 46：we were in room 510, a junior suite and there was quite a bit of noise from the new extension that they are building and a quiet drink on the balcony did not exist!

Review 47：The avaialbility of beds around the pool, the free WiFi and the proximity to the bars, food and beach. The beach is wonderful and we walked at least an hour everyday. This made it ideal for a family with 4 teenagers.

Review 48：Staff allowing guests to reserve sunbeds - in some cases up to eight for a group. In high season this is just ridiculous, especially when the guests don't use them for half the day. No sea view rooms as the whole block is shut for refurbishment.
