Reviews for Cabanas Paraíso

Review 1:The owners put bizarre rules up everywhere which didn't need to be mentioned. The food was pretty bad (though you can easily eat at the Palmas beach nearby). The rooms got very musty, doors and windows could do with latches to allow them to stay open. The rooms could do with more hooks for hanging clothes.

Review 2:The beach was like a little piece of paradise, excellent location, easy to find from Albraao by taxi boat which is easy to obtain. Much better choice than any of the options in the main Albraao area. The staff were absolutely delightful and helpful and spoke great english.

Review 3:Amazingly friendly staff, great breakfast, nice restaurant with fair prices, quiet place close to beautiful beaches, absolutely amazing -feeling in paradise

Review 4:This place was paradise on earth. It's remote--about a 1.5 hour trek from Abraao--but it's so quiet and serene and relaxing. Falling asleep to no noise but the sound of the waves crashing to shore? It doesn't get better than that. I thought it was a very good value for the price as well.

Review 5:The beach was dirty - lots of rubbish brought by the sea and occasionally dog's poo. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for a long time.

Review 6:Great location, small and quiet private beach, amazing view from the window, delicious food, nice and helpful staff.

Review 7:First of all- this place is not 30min walking distance from Abraao. It's 1.5 through jungle trail. Second- you need to order boat to get there or from there, which of course locals are using to overcharge you. Third- humidity and smell. This cabanas smells like old basement - and with them all our clothes! They got dump and the smell was just awful. There's no reception/wif and hot water in the shower either. I wouldn't go back there

Review 8:Staff was nice, breakfast was good

Review 9:We got a deluxe room, but we were next to the power generator which was noisy. So make sure you do not get that room.

Review 10:The chef cooked amazing dishes. A bit expensive but she was great! We enjoyed the food. Location is great right in front the sea.

Review 11:The weather was not as amazing as it usually is. O tempo não estava tão bom como costuma ser.

Review 12:The place where Cabana Paraiso is located is definetily a piece of paradise on Earth. A localização do Cabanas Paraíso é realmente um pedaço do Paraíso na Terra. As construções todas foram feitas pelo proprietário Macedo, um cara pra lá de especial. Vida longa ao Cabanas Paraíso!!!!

Review 13:Cabanas Paraíso does not have wi-fi at its location.

Review 14:Cabanas Paraíso is the perfect location if you are looking for aspectecular view of both the island and the ocean. The location is idealfor visitors who are enjoy peace and quiet and who are not all too pickyabout facilities. The staff is helpful and friendly, but make sure youknow a few sentences in Portuguese or Spanish since most of theinhabitants on Ilha Grande do not speak English. If you stay at the Cabanas Paraíso, I strongly recommend to do the hike up to the Lopez- Mendes beach. The hike will take about two hours but it is definitely worth it! On Ilha Grande it is possible to pay with your credit or debit card but keep in mind that this is not possible at every location so do make sure you have enough cash with you. There are also no roads on the island and getting around the island is either done by foot or taxi boat.

Review 15:No wifi, but maybe thats to get away from totaly everything?

Review 16:Everything! Its the best place to spend your holiday on this beautiful island. Your very own private beach, great people, peace of mind! Who cares if its far? At least you are away from the dirt of Abrao! All staff were great, but special thank you to Marcela, she has been the best, and she speaks good english:)

Review 17:Although quite out of the way from everything else, this place lives up to the paradise! If you are arriving late, make sure you call the place so they can pick you up with their boat as there is no where for the taxi boat to drop you off, i.e they come meet the boat. There are beautiful hikes from there and there is also a really great whole day boat trip you can do with the pousada for just 120!

Review 18:Service and maners. F&B price to high. On the next beach F&B half of the price. Bar and restaurant close too early and there are vending machine.

Review 19:The place, the beach, the location.

Review 20:Complicated to get there, but get some people together to share a taxi boat. Prices are on a restaurant level and not on a hostel / camping level.

Review 21:It is really a great location at the beach. We had one of the bigger bungalows directly looking to the sea. Very nice beach with clear water and waves. Breakfast was OK. Bungalow quite new with enough space for baggage. Fan above the bed. Nice bathroom and shower. Staff usually kind and ready to help, with some exceptions. Ordered meals were not cheap but well made, so worth the money.

Review 22:Location is in another beach and get there is very expensive (there´s 2 options: walk 2 hours through the forest or pay 80$ per boat). Only breakfast include, so you´ll have to buy very expansive water, dinner and nothing to do at night. I don´t know how properly describe the room itself, but you´ll hear everything. Owners are a little bit specific: they offer "taxi" for 100 reals, but then we get 6 persons to go, they said it will cost 150.

Review 23:The cheapest place in the Island. Good breakfast and best home made caipirinha, just like my brasilian friend was making for me. Good place to watch sunrise.

Review 24:For the price, you're only paying for the location -- the cabanas offer absolutely no comfort. Barely enough room to go around an uncomfortable bed, that's it. But when you're on a paradise island, who cares?!

Review 25:Really nice little beach, but very isolated. Unless you're ready to hike 1+ hour in the heat to hit the village or spend R$100 on a taxi boat, don't go there! Going to any other location on the island will cost you big $$$, so be aware of that!

Review 26:-Anybody smiles. You feel like you are disturbing the staff (and we are so polite and educated people, respecting all the rules of the cabana). -too many rules, written with an autoritary tone of voice.

Review 27:We loved it here. It is away from the main Bay but is perfect for privacy, treks and views. The place was lovely and relaxing. The room was lovely too nice and clean. The staff are lovely and helpful. Would stay here again!!

Review 28:The place is wonderful if you look for an isolated place but The stuff is not friendly and incorrect forget to explain that to reach the cabana you have to hire a boat at 100/150 r$ from The village of Abrao

Review 29:They make you pay the full amount of nights reserved, even if you wanna leave erlier. So, be carefull there. It is situated on a nice beach, but it takes a up to 1.5 hours hike (depending on luggage) to get there from Abraao. Or 80 Rais for a boat one way. It is really isolated.

Review 30:Difficult to find as no signs - we hiked and you need to go left at the end of the trail, not right to the main beach. Water taxis are expensive - R$80 each one way if there are only 2 of you for a 15m trip - the 3km hike is a better option if you're on a budget!!

Review 31:Simple cabin right on the beach, showers are clean, reading room is a good space, good breakfast, and other meals are priced in line with the rest of the island. Private beach or a couple of minutes walk to the main beach.

Review 32:-

Review 33:Great location! Very quiet, private beach.

Review 34:Excellent location for calm holiday. Short trip to the best beach on island.

Review 35:Staff didnt speak a word in English

Review 36:Definietly location of this place and amzing beach beside your bungalow

Review 37:Lazing in a hammock listening to the sound of the trees and the wash of the sea. What an experience, truly awesome.

Review 38:the owners can't speak english, but we managed to get along.

Review 39:The location is absolutely divine.

Review 40:Great breakfast

Review 41:Staff were unfriendly and bordered on rude. Completely inhospitable. When we checked in they behaved as though we were an inconvenience. Loud generator outside and the ceiling fan in room was way too loud to use (even with ear plugs). Fan over bed was broken. Without air conditioning the fans are very important to have.

Review 42:Beautiful beach

Review 43:Staff very unhelpful and rude, no wifi / internet and food, drinks and taxi boat very overpriced through the hotel

Review 44:The deluxe cottage we stayed in was lovely with sea views

Review 45:Very nice place. We had the deluxe cabin and that was really value for the Money! Nice cabin. Nice private Beach. Very helpfull owners. Could not speek English but we managed to communicate alltogether.

Review 46:The owner and his family are not nice, the bar closes quickly better to eat and drink on the next beach (Palmas)

Review 47:Great location, quiet and climate, I recommend walking through the jungle instead of taking a water taxi from the Abrao.

Review 48:it was the perfect place to go - we were after a nice, quiet and relaxing weekend. It is away from the main town and you get a little beach to yourself.

Review 49:The staff does not speak English, which made it difficult to communicate. Also, and probably for that reason, we were not given an introduction to the place (when will breakfast take place, where to buy thinks in the area etc). So they could have made more effort for a warm welcome.

Review 50:It's a good place to relax if you want to get away from the crowds. You have the beach right in front of your cabana, and it's a really nice one to have a swim, whereas the beaches in Abraao are not good for swimming, since there are so many boats. At night, you will hear nothing but the sea. It's beautiful! You can have lunch and dinner at their small restaurant. In general, good value for money.

Review 51:Great value for money. The hotel is located on it's own beautiful beach and we reached it by foot. 1,5 walk across a hill. We booked a fishers cabin (deluxe?). It was perfect. Got a hammock, some extra chairs for on the beach and a good bed. There was a restaurant with a good breakfast. On the way back we took the boot, it leaves every morning and is cheap. Good place!

Review 52:Don't get fooled by the name, the island is a paradise but not the hotel! The breakfast is not at all as advertised and if you're not part of the large "family" you're totally neglected

Review 53:You must learn some portuguese and it's a little far from the town centre.

Review 54:Very beautiful place, near the waves. Clean and staff are also very nice.

Review 55:Unfortunately our Portuguese is non-existent so our exchanges with thestaff were very limited!!! We did feel at times they could have beenmore friendly. The location is quite far from the main town, and quiteisolated (perfect if you want a relaxed beach holiday) but not suitableif you want to go into town every day as it's 80 reias (about £26)for a taxi boat each way. A minor point but the shower dripped and ranhot & cold!

Review 56:Stunning location - on our own private bit of beach with a hammockoutside the front of our hut - about 5 metres from the waves! We had a'luxury cabana' with private bathroom but it was good value formoney. Our cabana also included a lovely breakfast with fresh tropicalfruit salad etc. Beer and snacks at the 'paraiso ' bar wereavailable until 10pm, and the restaurant (restaurant morango) on thenext beach along (a short walk) did some of the most delicious freshfish we've eaten!

Review 57:The inconvenience of having to take a taxi boat which was not the cheapest

Review 58:We liked mainly the excellent location of our hut, right on the beach, friendly staff and nice breakfast

Review 59:You have to pay a boat taxi to get to the camping, which is really expensive. 80-100 real for 2 persons. Everything on the camping was extremely overprized. Nobody of the staff talked english or spanish. Bad information and communication about the pricing. When we borrowed 2 snorkels, the woman sad it was free, when checking out we had to pay a fee of 40 real. There is no fresh fruit nor a buffe for breakfast, as described when we booked, just coffee and 2 slices of white bread. The sneeky and bad attitude ruined our vacation.

Review 60:Nice but isolated location, at least 1 hour jungle-walk to beautiful Lopes Mendes beach. Nice animals in the surroundings.

Review 61:It was very secluded and required an hour to walk or an expensive watertaxi to transfer to the campsite. The water taxis seemed only interestedin making 120 reals per trip, so if there were 6 of you it wasn't sobad but if you are only 2 then it was very expensive... The campsiteshould provide an option of a free scheduled transfer. Left feeling thatthe water taxi spoiled the experience a little but a great place forrelaxation and seclusion

Review 62:You don't share the beach with any other resort or Pousada

Review 63:Part of the perk was that it is situated on a private beach away from the buisy shops and beach shared by everyone and the pier. The drawback is there is no food stands on the beach and water is double the price and located on the neighboring beach. ( bring snacks) getting to any other location by foot is only possible if you are fairly athletic though its great fun if your not in a hurry. Taxi boat to the camp site is around 80 R$ so that adds up

Review 64:We stayed in a delux suite. We are backpacking South America on the cheep but thought it would be worth the upgrade for some privacy and a better bed. the breakfast the campers had was a mile from ours. Much more value for your dollar!

Review 65:Smelly rooms They were refurbishing the place while staying there (noise!)

Review 66:Unsure how to get to camp site from port to camp site. Not aware that they have their own water taxi.

Review 67:Location was fantastic.

Review 68:poor breakfast , successive debit on debit card

Review 69:Ethnic art of the cabanas and nature

Review 70:Peaceful place at the beach well worth the money.
