Reviews for Ria Park Garden Hotel
Review 1:Beds were a bit too firm. Ideally it was necessary to have a car as taxis very expensive and location isolated from a town.
Review 2:Courteous and friendly staff. Shuttle to beach excellent . Pool and food very good. Breakfasts excellent.
Review 3:Pools could be cleaner, food options are limited and no access to gym and was told could not use the facilities at the sister hotel.
Review 4:Nice friendly and clean environment. Good breakfast facilities. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the children's play area activities
Review 5:The pool is nice but sun lingers too limited. Breakfast was good
Review 6:The ria park garden is the poor relation to the ria park spa. It is only opened in the peak months and is a bit tired and dated. The wifi is hit and miss and in my opinion the staff very unwelcoming. Patio door was not locking when we arrived and despite reporting daily wasn't fixed when we left 10 days later. The rugs on the told floor were dirty and smelly and the housekeeping staff constantly blocked the fire escape stairways with old trays and linen. Never a 4 star
Review 7:we were told our bed was a double but it was two singles put together. Jacuzzi had no water so was never in use asked staff few times but they kept saying someone will come down and have a look. Private beach cost 15 pounds per a sun chair a day.
Review 8:The breakfast was lovely. Location great for a place where there is nothing but peace. Reception let us check in early which was great.
Review 9:Arrived at 5.30. Went for a swim. Very tight area. Went to get a drink and they had closed the shutters at just gone 6 pm. We weren't the only people who wanted a drink either. Area a bit tacky.
Review 10:Our room was located in a villa and not the hotel, which I think was an advantage.
Review 11:I am sure breakfast would have been good but we had to queue to get a seat, therefore, we gave it a miss. Not enough sun beds around the pool area. We never managed to get one so ended up going to the beach. It was not clear which sun beds on the beach were reserved for hotel guests.
Review 12:Dinner in the evening. Excellent chef who we got to meet. Lovely large rooms but tea and coffee making facilities would have been a bonus. However, room kept very clean and smelling lovely by the maid.
Review 13:Our room was located in what "the staff call : the new hotel" , fyi your information you have to take your car to reach the room and the breakfeast ..... no comment, just in the middle of nowhere .... no hot water during one day , etc.... and for 250 € per day
Review 14:Equipments of the Ria Park Hotel (important to know that there are big differences between the ria park hotel and ria park garden hotel ....)
Review 15:Very poor food at the pool bar and extremely expensive. Also the beverages prices over priced even for this part of Algarve
Review 16:The breakfast was great and staff very friendly in general.
Review 17:I was in a room in a "Villa" remote from the main Hotel where the restaurant, bars and a pool were situated, it was also quite a walk to get there, you could walk through the grounds during the day but not on an evening due to the lighting. There was a pool behind the Villa (which had a table at the bottom when I first looked) I never witnessed any other guests using the pool? I think there had been at some time a local dining room and external bar & food area which were boarded up and not in use, there were only several sun loungers available? The pool at the hotel was impossible to get a place at. The access doors to the grounds around the Villa were left open during the night?
Review 18:The Room was ok and I was given a map of the grounds.
Review 19:I think the shop should store more everyday products such as hairspray, cold drinks, snacks etc.. The hotel is a bit far away form main shops etc.. and it is a problem when your forget something.
Review 20:I like the friendly staff and nice hotel grounds with lovely garden and lots of beautiful trees. The bedroom was very comfortable and very clean. The swimming pool was lovely and the food very good .Although it was a busy time, there is enough space for everyone to enjoy privacy and calm
Review 21:Spa services are on request only. Short walk to the beach - however not all pavement so not great underfoot.
Review 22:Quiet, relaxing hotel and grounds. Very peaceful. Staff friendly.
Review 23:The bed and pillows were the worst I have ever experienced, I went away to rest for a few days due to sickness and feel I need another break, the reception staff were most helpful, the poor side staff were not available, very poor
Review 24:No wi-fi in the rooms not attached to the main building, even though it was promised on booking, the beds were rock hard and the join where two singles had been made a double was extremely uncomfortable.
Review 25:The staff were outstanding and went out of their way to address our needs to accomodate my elderly father in law. Definitely would stay here again but would make sure the room was in the main building.
Review 26:General cost for little extras like mini bar and pool drinks where quiet expensive! The location is expensive also so to eat out every day meant we spent more than we hoped.
Review 27:Hotel was lovely and very well looked after. Staff where always happy to help!
Review 28:Personally I would prefer a different blend of coffee
Review 29:This was my second visit to Ria Park and will definitely be back again. A very well run hotel with excellent and helpful staff. Beautiful views from the rooms. Lovely swimming pools both indoor and outdoor. Superb breakfast in the open air dining room is a great start to the day.
Review 30:Restaurants in the hotel on the whole were pricey for what they served and they got the evening bill wrong 2 nights in a row. Also thought a little cheeky wanting to charge nearly 30 euros for hotel lounger on beach (next door was only 20) Otherwise very nice although the bathroom in the room was old and a little tired
Review 31:We were upgraded to the sister hotel 5* so this review is better suited to that hotel. (Big plus in my books) Pool was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly - only too willing to caddy us at a moments notice to the beach. (An embarrassingly close ride, had we been less lazy could have walked in 10 mins) Room was very comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was a knockout! Filled us up (nearly) for the whole day.
Review 32:Not being able to stay longer
Review 33:Location is close to beach and all the local restaurants, there is also a shuttle bus to take you down there. You would need a taxi to go to the shops and bars at Quinta which is not expensive and worth a visit
Review 34:No complaints
Review 35:Nightly dinner was first class. Daytime at the pool was very uncrowded and service at all times attentive and prompt. Hotel only open for august as nearby 5* sister hotel does most of the business! So our hotel a great find !
Review 36:The location is far away from everything, you do need a car to get round
Review 37:Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, good food, relaxing, peaceful settings.
Review 38:The hotel is divided in a main building and villas (belonging to a different hotel (5 stars) of the same group !!!???). However the client, before check-in is not informed of this issue. Even in Booking this issue is not declared which is unacceptable. We stayed in a villa, in a walking distance from the main building, with the following inconvenients: 1) No wirelesses connections at the bedroom and hotel commodities (like bar or leisure room) not available in the villas area; 2) Daily walk to the main building to take the breakfast; 3) The leisure area at the villas area that includes swimming pool) is somehow dated and lacking maintenance. The breakfast time (during August) is a complete chaos. The number of employees is not sufficient which is unacceptable for a four star hotel. In conclusion, the hotel is placed in a very calm and beautiful zone but it suffers from lack of organization, maintenance and management expertise.
Review 39:The localization of the hotel is great.
Review 40:No adequate parking despite what they say. Patio doors with broken locks. No Iron (not even to hire) No Hairdryer for the girls. Tacky, outdated and ill funded hotel. The main Ria Park spa hotel up the road is very nice and has much better facilities, if they put you there !
Review 41:Leaving
Review 42:People walking in room while asleep , beds were unconfortable , lot of noise .
Review 43:Staff were very helpful , breakfast was good , hotel is desperate for upgrade
Review 44:Staff were at times unhelpful, not enough pool loungers, being charged for sun loungers on the beach.
Review 45:Spacious accommodation, excellent breakfast, beautiful pool area and gardens.
Review 46:The spa, which is being renovated, was missing
Review 47:Breakfast was super Assistance arranging golf was excellent. Staff service was superb from the front desk to the pool and beyond.
Review 48:The pool is ok but surrounded by too many tree's.
Review 49:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is quiet and central to everything. The rooms are good the balcony's and views are great.
Review 50:Hotel’s tennis court is quite worn out and very bumpy. Needs attention. Disappointing extra charge for tennis court and sun beds on the beach.
Review 51:Excellent service, staff, quiet location. Nice and clean hotel, beautiful surroundings. Great value for half board. Gourmet dinner meals and service were incredible. Nice walk to Vale de Lobo resort. Passing outstanding tennis academy with plenty of high class courts. Beautiful beach surrounded by golf course in Vale de Lobo.
Review 52:Pricey pool bar and young staff not really up to same standard as reception and restaurant staff. Served a frozen burger which was raw in the middle.
Review 53:Staff were attentive
Review 54:Dinner in the hotel was disappointing.
Review 55:Friendly staff, very good amenities and proximity to wonderful beach and beach restaurants.
Review 56:room was okay and breakfast was pretty poor.
Review 57:only stayed one night and grounds and gardens looked nice.
Review 58:The hotel needs some modernisation
Review 59:For a short stay the rooms were comfortable
Review 60:location, lovely area, need a car
Review 61:the pool
Review 62:Getting a little 'tired' particularly the bathroom
Review 63:Position OK, bus to Beach useful
Review 64:Villa was outside the property of the hotel. Breakfast was 5 minutes away. No parking. Poor service.
Review 65:Poor WiFi
Review 66:Everything
Review 67:Wi-Fi was poor. The rug was sticky. Some staffs were not friendly.
Review 68:Pool was nice.
Review 69:Facilities were poor. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. No ironing board and no option to borrow one.
Review 70:Very crowded at breakfast - not enough tables etc
Review 71:Overall very good. We found Antonia very helpful and always pleasant.
Review 72:Nothing
Review 73:Staff.friendly and helpful
Review 74:No kettle in room.
Review 75:The quiet, peaceful ambience for an older, mature guest.
Review 76:some days no sun !!!
Review 77:everything
Review 78:The peace and tranquility of staying in the resort/spa area of the hotel. The friendliness of the staff and the punctuality of the shuttle bus.
Review 79:Poolside service was poor ..
Review 80:Lovely relaxed atomosphere.
Review 81:There wasn't an awful lot of choice of things to do in the immediate area
Review 82:Lovely quiet hotel, excellent food and cocktails.
Review 83:TV with speakers at the back. Therefore, Sound loss. Increase sound causes distortion.
Review 84:All was very good indeed.
Review 85:Ideal location for the resort
Review 86:Remote location you require a car to go anywhere
Review 87:Peaceful location and immaculate hotel reception especially lois very helpful
Review 88:Lack of information on check in. Rooms felt disjointed from the rest of the hotel. Pool loungers uncomfortable.
Review 89:Location Room service was quick
Review 90:Distance from residence to reception and no nearby shop
Review 91:Almost everthing
Review 92:Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Review 93:Awful rooms, not close enough to beach, incredibly expensive food/drink compared to vale do lobo/Quinta do Lago
Review 94:Gym, spa...
Review 95:The location is terrible.
Review 96:in the middle of nowhere for socialising and very expensive
Review 97:If you are going for golf this is the area to go
Review 98:pool bar prices were expensive
Review 99:Large room size, regular cleaning service very helpful reception staff 24 room service at good prices
Review 100:The hotel charged 15 euros for two people for its 'private beach area'. There were loungers and sun shades but nothing else! No toilets, no showers and no refreshments. Definitely don't bother with this - go along the beach to the Vale do Lobo beach bar where for 22 euros you get toilets, showers, a bar, food and even towels thrown in for a returnable deposit.
Review 101:Almost everything
Review 102:We just loved the hotel from start to finish only problem my wife left her watch under sunbed and never got it back very unfortunate thing to happen. We would go back there again.
Review 103:Beds were uncomfortable & how the shuttle bus operated was not made clear to us when returning from a night out!
Review 104:Loved the location, pool area good.
Review 105:You can only use the sauna between 18:00 to 20:00 for free. If you want to use it outside these hours you need to pay. We were told that the Hotel does have a private beach. Actually it had a private beach, but once we were there we were asked to pay 15 euro's for using the facilities there. The reception even did not tel us that we would need to pay 15 euro's to use the Hotel private beach. Hotel location is a bit remote. The restaurants around (especially on the beach) are pretty expensive and the food quality was not good. The Hotel restaurant and bar were pretty expensive. No tea and coffee facilities in the room.
Review 106:The location is great for those who want to be outside the city and enjoy the quietness close to beach. You need to have a car to reach the location. The staff were great.
Review 107:no access to spa facilities in day time no iPod dock or stereo to play music should have complementary water each day burgers were not nice inside pool too stuffy and no access to lay by pool.
Review 108:Friendly staff Handy shuttle service to beach Breakfast had a fresh variety Outside pool clean and easy Amazing cocktails
Review 109:I expected a little more in the room - tea and coffee option with kettle, better hairdryer. I had a massage which would have been amazing but on the basis it was supposed to be relaxing and the room allowed you to hear everything happening outside it was ineffective. I was lead to believe it was 5 star and I do not really have complaints it just lacked a few things I would expect to have been there for that rating. Overall I had a really lovely stay...
Review 110:Really friendly staff, amazing food, nice location and very clean
Review 111:Leaving.
Review 112:The room, the pools along with the sauna, gym & Jacuzzi. The roof top for star gazing, was amazing. The breakfast. The Reception, for information, money exchange, answers(to many questions), guides, restaurants, taxis & tours. If they do not know something; they know someone who does! A true 'one stop shop'. Finally, the peace & the weather. This 5* hotel is a class place to stay. They prioritize your comfort, safety & security. Many hotels promise such; this hotel delivers.
Review 113:Be mindful the hotel is located in a private neighbourhood and not obvious at first. We managed a reasonable deal for the off season, but the hotel may likely cost more and be busier over the summer.
Review 114:My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights to relax and use the hotel as a base for exploring the nearby marinas and beaches. The hotel is conveniently close to several fantastic restaurants, has a great pool and dining facilities (breakfast). Staff were friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too difficult - always for our comfort and convenience. Thank you for having us.
Review 115:Leaving !! I could stay there for a long time, so, so happy!
Review 116:5* Service is about anticipating your guests needs & offering before being asked with Dignity, Demeanor and Decorum. This Fine Establishments Staff Delivers All The Above with Courteousness & Professionalism. If you want a quiet, clean & very secure hotel with Class! Away from the crowds this is it.
Review 117:This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are enormous and they are very quiet. The pool is a good size and well landscaped. At breakfast there was plenty to choose from and you can sit outside looking down at the pool.
Review 118:Location means its advantageous to have a car to travel around otherwise taxis are expensive.
Review 119:Nice pleasant friendly team. Luxurious surroundings. Good value for money
Review 120:Slightly overpriced. Beach 15 minutes walk (along roads), not 5 minutesas advertised. Hotel was isolated.Staff not aware I had made booking through Booking.com at a reduced rate - subsequently tried to overcharge me on departure.
Review 121:Very comfortable room. Staff friendly.
Review 122:Kids facilities very poor. Restaurants very expensive
Review 123:We got upgraded from the ria park garden to this 5 star at no extra cost. Food was fine but heavy 5 star prices, kids had nothing to do, no kids club, pool was nice and reception staff could not do enough
Review 124:check-in takes too much time. in the evening music too loud. In the night you can hear everything from another rooms.
Review 125:Breakfast, swimming pool, design.
Review 126:The bathrooms does not have plagins, but it can be easy compensating with extensions, provided from the reception
Review 127:The most important in the Ria Park hotel, is the personal, Its not enough just to say theyare good, staff could help you with any issue you may have. The hotel location is also great!
Review 128:The closeness to other amenities, shopping or towns was frustrating as expensive taxies required to get anywhere. Car required really if you are going to be hopping around - not a show stopper.
Review 129:Good clean facilities, pool and dinners. Located in very affluent area so not very much hustle and bustle. Nice shuttle bus to beach although you can walk once younger your bearings. Would be really helpful if shuttle bus went further afield (on the hour say) to Almancil or Quinta da Lago, even if there was a €5 charge.
Review 130:You need to explain to people how remote your position is as I have justspent £250 on taxis to go out for dinner in a week. The rooms were verytired and I would not reccomend the hotel as the address you advertiseas Vale do Lobo and you are actually not in Vale do Lobo.
Review 131:We wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 132:The location and the hotel surroundings, with lush greenery all around, which we enjoyed specially during breakfast, in the terrace. The beach was close-by so a walk there would take just 10 minutes, and we always went through a gorgeous nature path, which made the whole experience so relaxing. We only used the beach shuttle once, during our whole stay! The pool looked nice but we spent most of our day on the beach. The real star of the hotel are the staff, which are so friendly that nothing seemed to be to much trouble. It really made us feel welcome, and we will definitely return!
Review 133:Not family friendly at all...we had to go through 3 flights of stairsand a lift with 2 small children with buggy etc...The room itselfrequired serious updating and had writing on the couch which wasactually a concrete shell with a cushion...very child friendly! On ourfirst morning whilst having breakfast our son walked about 3 ft in frontof us from the breakfast area and fell 6ft through an unguarded fallfrom the breakfast to pool area...how he did not seriously injurehimself we have no idea. The managers attitude was well we aren'tresponsible...not responsible for a child falling 6ft through anunguarded and unprotected area! The reception staff are the mostincompetent I have ever experiences...as an example but only an exampleI had to make 3 attempts to get my correct bill the night before Ichecked out...then when going to reception the next morning to hand inmy card was told that my invoice was not correct despite investing 45mins the night before....this is just one example of the stupidity ofthe staff but believe me not the only one...speaking to other people inthe hotel they des ribed it as Fawlty towers so we were not alone.Additionally be aware despite what they say the main beach is amileswalk...and you are charged for the sposedly free seating at thebeach...another feature of this place. There are basically norestaurants in walking distance...certainly not if you have a smallfamily. We had to hire a carto ghetto any restaurant.
Review 134:We booked a room with a view to the Ria Formosa and the gardens but whenwe got there we were given a room in a"villa", separated from the hotel,in a ground floor, no view but a white wall. We had to walk to the mainbuilding to have breakfast, use the swimming pool, etc. When we asked toswitch rooms the staff was completely unhelpful and eventually they saidthat there were no more rooms available. Be careful when you do yourreservation, they have a lot of these "villas" that they call "roomswith a view". It's not close to the beach at all, we had to take the carevery time. We filled in the complaints book, since we paid forsomething we didn't get - a room, with a view, at a walking distance tothe beach. No discount was offered either, even though it was theirmistake to accept our reservation for a room they didn't have. We willnot stay there again.
Review 135:The room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was very good.
Review 136:we had A lovely stay - the staff were particularly welcoming, cheerful and helpful in every way, and the pool, pool area, and cafeteria were first class.
