Reviews for Hotel Hertogplein
Review 1:Very friendly welcome, nice homely decoration in the rooms and breakfast place, it makes you feel more at home than in a hotel. Coffee and tea in the room. Large choice for breakfast.
Review 2:No complaints at all.
Review 3:Our second stay - and just as nice as we'd remembered. Maybe better - gracious host, amazing breakfasts (and gorgeous terrace, when it's a little warmer), every amenity is comfortable, beautiful, in a compact and elegant space. Location is ideal for both downtown excursions, superb restaurants (wish we had been able to sample De Portier -- next time! -- it was fully booked this time). Great walking area surrounds this spectacular boutique hotel.
Review 4:Some noise during the night from outside but normal for a city centre hotel.
Review 5:Really helpful and friendly owner. Breakfast was really good. Lovely rooms and comfortable beds.
Review 6:For physically handicaped people (or wheelchair users) I can not recommend this B&B as you have to use a small and steep staircase to get to your rooms. There are no elevators.
Review 7:The Hotel has only 5 rooms and is in real a B&B. My room was nicely decorated and clean. The owner made breakfast himself and all people during my stay got a very charming and personal service. The B&B is located in the city center and you can reach the most important sightseeing buildings, shops and good restaurants within minutes. 10-15min walking distance to the central station!
Review 8:Great location. The owner met us at when we checked in and could not have be more accommodating. The parking is close and secure. Great place to stay.
Review 9:My wife and I where biking the Netherlands and arrived after athunderstorm. Our luggage had not arrived yet and the owner offered mywife dry clothes to use until our bags were delivered. Above averagecustomer service. Amazing room in old Nijmegen two blocks from GenGavin's Bridge and very near many cafe's and shopping. Besthotel of our trip hands down!
Review 10:Absolutely nothing ... everything was perfect.
Review 11:Fantastic customer service. The owner was very accommodating to meet my departure schedule. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Nijmegen.
Review 12:This isn't really related to the hotel, it is more information for travelers. We had to go to work to the Medical Faculty, which isn't particularly close by. There is a bus stop 50 meters away or so, so we took the bus to go to our destination no problem but since it was such a short trip, I would have chosen something closer to the Radbound campus or the train station.
Review 13:We really loved the rooms, cleanliness and the facilities. There is a kitchen area (breakfast room) that we used briefly for a quick dinner, which we really appreciated as we were really tired and still had work to do. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the rooms beautifully decorated. To be quite frank, this seems like the right mix between a bed & breakfast or private accommodation and a boutique hotel. The owner was very nice and helpful. I cannot fault this place!
Review 14:Would love some hot breakfast items, what I did have was excellent qualify.
Review 15:Friendly manager, good location, clean and well equipped rooms. WIFI connection is fast and stable.
Review 16:Not a single thing!
Review 17:Everything: from excellent room design, through most helpful, supportive and nice personnel, to optimal location. Absolute top of the tops in its class.
Review 18:This is a small, convenient and individual Hotel for a perfect stay. The interieur is well selected and of good taste. Breakfast is of High quality. Hosts are very friendly and helpful.
Review 19:We didn'l like the beds. The matrass wasn't even, so we had a rough time sleeping here.
Review 20:Clean and modern hotel, very nice staff. Luxureous breakfast buffet. Too bad about the beds.
Review 21:Some taxi drivers may struggle to find it so print a map of the location and make sure you have it with you!
Review 22:Perfect small hotel beautifully furnished and cared for. owners genuine and committed to their guests.
Review 23:Everything! As our day started quite poor arriving at Hotel Hertogplein was changed our mood completely. We were greeted by Francien the hotel owner who just couldn't do enough for us, felt like we were at home. The room was stunning and comfortable, the hotel itself was ideally located to the old town. Just everything about this hotel was perfect.
Review 24:Having to leave!
Review 25:All aspects of the room were outstanding - the design, the comfort, the cleanliness (their daily attention kept it spotless), fantastic breakfast. It's a typical Dutch older house - fun - made modern so every comfort is there, and beautiful. Perfect location - easy walk everywhere, yet just at the residential edge, so quiet. Near lots of new, interesting restaurants - the owners help you find whatever you might enjoy.
Review 26:Noise from breakfast in our room

Review 29:Normally I can think of a long list but in this case the only thing I can mention is that their website didn't work perfectly when using a tablette. They promised to fix that the next week.
Review 30:I liked everything, including the covered and secured parking, the friendly reception during our very late arrival, the delicious breakfast with excellent cappuccino, the central location, the good WIFI reception, the spacious room, etc.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:Everything. The owner/manager couldn't have been more helpful. The place is fairly new, spotless, modern with all the amenities and comfortable. Breakfasts are great with lots of fresh fruit. The location enabled us to walk all over town.
Review 33:The steep and narrow staircase which is typical of turn of last century architecture.

Review 59:'The location was somewhat off the beaten path, but it was still a great choice.
Review 60:A great room and very good breakfast.
Review 61:The owner Rus was the most gracious and helpful host! Despite we arrived late he spent a lot of time with us helping with the choice of sightseeing and restaurant selection. The room was very big compare to European standards with high ceilings and three huge windows. Immaculate clean! Bed was perfect, WiFi free. The breakfast on terrace was perfect. Very relaxing and enjoyable. And by the way Nijmegen is a very nice small Dutch town worthwhile to visit!
Review 62:Nothing at all
Review 63:Everything was fantastic, you feel like you are at home -actually a fancy modern designed home to be precise. The breakfast was great, the host was so helpful and caring (They even serve a halal meal too). Definitely I recommend this hotel.
Review 64:A wonderful, small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere, fantastic hosts, superb breakfast, very comfortable room & excellent shower. Absolutely no negatives. Highly recommended.
Review 65:Very nice small hotel, located near the city centre will many shops, bars and restaurants. Attentful staff, clean and well equipped rooms. Excellent choice for a weekend or business trip.
Review 66:Nothing.
Review 67:A small but classy hotel. The owners are excellent hosts and made our stay very easy. Our room had an excellent en-suite. Breakfast was good. There was a nespresso machine in the room, and the Wi-Fi worked well. The hotel is directly above an excellent restaurant. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 68:The hotel offered an excellent accommodation experience for a good price. The breakfast was tasty with great freshly squeezed orange juice. The hosts were very helpful.
Review 69:Can't think of anything I would like to see improved.
Review 70:Friendliness of staff, overall appearance, location. Hotel with a 'bed and breakfast' feel - in the positive sense!
Review 71:We absolutely can't think of anything. (Although for some people the lack of an elevator might be an issue)
Review 72:This is a very nice Hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is luxurious and has all the comfort you want. Breakfast was way above our expectations for an hotel this size. This is a very nice Hotel. The room is luxurious
Review 73:So much nicer than the "chain hotels", this is a beautiful conversion of an old building right in the centre of the city. The rooms are lovely and very well appointed. The breakfast was also very good. The couple who own the hotel were also very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay even if it only was for 1 night. Would definitely book again.
Review 74:The ventilation in the bathroom was a bit loud.
Review 75:Great breakfast, all fresh and biologic. High ceilings, lots of light. Personal attention and good recommendation for dinner.
Review 76:The hotel was renovated in a tastful modern style with respect for the classical elements, in such a way that they reinforce each other. The atmosphere in the hotel gives a sense of welcome and comfort.
Review 77:Great location, exceptionally clean and well designed. Very comfortable rooms. Free wifi always good - whether on business or with family. Very friendly. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.
Review 78:Nothing, except that we could not stay longer!
Review 79:Everything. From the location at the edge of the central city to thedecor, food, and especially the charm and friendliness of the hostcouple, this place is fabulous. This boutique B&B is a convertedhouse that manages to maintain the charm of the original home whileadding all the modern amenities. The room we had was bright and open, very large for such a central location, and used space wonderfully. Thebreakfast area was cozy and also quite roomy with an outstandingcollection of options--it helps, do doubt, that the owners/hostsalso run a very nice restaurant just out of Nijmegen. Safe undergroundparking was available very close by and so even the car logistics, often a nightmare in old European city cores, was a breeze. Internetwas also fine.
Review 80:Nothing, everything was pleasant. A caveat is that the hotel is housed at the first and second floor, which means climbing 1 or 2 stairs.
Review 81:This very small hotel has an incredibly good service, as you receive personal attention by the owners who are resposive too all kinds of demands and questions. It is housed in a building from the early 1900's, and has high ceilings and large rooms. The breakfast is excellent. We arrived by car, which could be safely parked indoors in a private garage.
Review 82:It's not a criticism but guests would need to be aware that the stairs is steep, but that is down to the fact that its a renovated old building.
Review 83:Francine is an excellent host and made us relaxed and comfortable immediately on arrival. The hotel has lovely old charm features and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. It even had an axpresso machine! Lovely touch we thought. The breakfast is excellent with cereals, fresh fruit, meats and cheese, and plenty of good coffee. There is a nice selection of wines in the breakfast area at very affordable prices and a lovely breakfast balcony as well.
Review 84:the toilet is separate from the bathroom
Review 85:The hotel is very conveniently located, excellent breakfast, the room has big windows and thus lots of light, very friendly staff, nice Austrian wine for sale for a very reasonable price
Review 86:no lift, may be difficult if heavy luggage needs to be carried up the steep stairs
Review 87:warm and friendly welcome by owners who are extremely helpful, wifi available, spacious and very comfortable room, excellent breakfast, aircon in bedroom in summer
Review 88:Since the hotel is in a renovated old house you hear the noice from other guests entering and teh bathroom above (room was on 1st floor near to stairs and breakfast room) . A small inconvenience if you like a charming place to stay
Review 89:This hotel is excellently located in Nijmegen near to the center of town. It is a relatively small hotel in a fully new renovated charming old house. The rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet is excellent and offer fresh fruits and high quality yoghurts, bread and more. The staff is extremely helpful.
Review 90:Marvelous place to stay when visiting Nijmegen. Lovely older building completely remodeled with all the modern conveniences, but the original design and charm of the building still shines. Near the city center, train station and good restaurants. Francien is immensely helpful and accommodating. Some might call it a Hotel, others an Inn, still others a Bed and Breakfast. I think everyone will agree it is a delightful place of rest -- just like home. I was traveling on business, but would definitely bring family on any holiday visit. The owners also own a restaurant, so they know how to pick fresh fruit for breakfast!
Review 91:It looks like just a house from the street, and I don't think there was a hotel sign. Let them know when you will arrive, and ring the bell.
Review 92:The room was beautifully designed--simple, modern, elegant, tranquil. You will sleep well here. A nice breakfast, and the owners are friendly and helpful. Nijmegen is worth visiting for pretty and historic sights, and this hotel is a lovely, comfortable getaway.
