Reviews for Apollo Hotel
Review 1:- Didn't feel quite up to 3* standard - no lift (fine for me but could be a problem for some) - limited public space
Review 2:- centrally located - comfortable room - coffee machine and free wifi
Review 3:very small bed (good quality, but tiny), TV was big but a lot of noise in the picture
Review 4:Very friendly staff, uncomplicated, free coffee/tea (coffee mashine), nice/spacious/clean bathroom, safe, wardrobe, desk, quiet, nice view, great curtains (let no light in), close to train station, at the edge of city centre, awesome ice cream place next door, can't say anything about breakfast - but it looked nice when walked by
Review 5:The internet was not working during the night I stayed. However, I find this a minor issue.
Review 6:The hotel, including breakfast is quite basic yet very well worth the price
Review 7:No elevator, and there are no ground floor rooms. The room on first floor is like 2 flights up.
Review 8:Lovely room, good bed, and helpful staff. Breakfast was good!
Review 9:Noisy passers-by some nights, a rather basic breakfast.
Review 10:Pod coffee machine in room and free barista coffee in lounge all day, good location close to station and points of interest, welcoming staff.
Review 11:The wifi was fast, but sometimes it was nearly impossible to get associated to the network. The weather was not hot, but the room got very hot, despite the very high ceiling.
Review 12:I've been at this hotel before and like it. This time I had a twin room with very high ceiling (5 ms?). The room opened to a kind of balcony (roof); had in particular a desk of a good size and also a sitting corner with two armchairs and a small round table. The breakfast is simple, but ok (cereals or fruit salad plus yoghurt, cheese/ham for bread and toast). The location is very good, at the entrance of the city center (Molenstraat). The mattresses are too soft and tend to slide off the bed top.
Review 13:A little noisy outside at night, and a little too warm in the bedroom at night
Review 14:Great facilities e.g. coffee machine, comfortable beds, lovely spread of breakfast, staff very friendly, fantastic location
Review 15:Staff were very accommodating. Even though we arrived much earlier than the check in time, they allowed us to check in and leave our bags. Very friendly and helpful
Review 16:We expected TV as had said so in info but it wasn't working, this wasn't repaired an we were told we would be contacted but haven't been
Review 17:Friendly staff
Review 18:As the hotel was situated in the centre, you can have streetnoise when your room is situated at the front. Also our room didnot have airconditioning, so it can become quite warm.
Review 19:The hotel is situated in the centre of Nijmegen, the staff was quite friendly and helpfull. The room and bathroom were quite spacious and confortable.
Review 20:the rooms with a street view are very noisy, however, the hotel is not equiped with ear plugs. breakfast is very poor the rooms are very small. in general this hotel is way too expesive for what it offers.
Review 21:the location of this hotel, in the city center
Review 22:Staff was extremely helpful when I notified at the last minute of a late arrival (after the front desk closed) due to flight delay. Excellent value for the price.
Review 23:At first we were given key to a room that had not been cleaned after previous people.
Review 24:The staff was very kind and understanding and fixed the mistake by giving us another room and calling the cleaning lady in again. They even apologized again in the morning.
Review 25:Friendly and well organised staff, we arrived very late on the first night but phoned ahead. They gave us a code to enter at the front door which opened a drop box with our key. They made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
Review 26:The juices, cereals and fruit at breakfast were not to my taste, although the bread and jams were good.
Review 27:Small hotel, conveniently located, friendly staff, recently refurbished. I had a quiet room, away from the street, but I guess the rooms at the front might be quite noisy from the nearby bars some nights.
Review 28:Staff were very helpful and nice. The room was spacious. The hotel was centrally located. As we had to leave before breakfast on two of the days the staff made us breakfast rolls to take away. We had a lovely stay at the Apollo.
Review 29:Because the shower was broke we got move to the hotel courage which although nice wasn't in a great location. Far from the train station and amenities .
Review 30:Great location close to the train station and bars and restaurants
Review 31:We didn't have a windows that would open in our room, only a fire escape door which when open made our room accessible to anyone! The second room we booked had no wardrobe!
Review 32:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 33:The hotel is close to three major bars and the noise goes on for quite a while at night. Also, I had a problem paying with my debit card.
Review 34:The hotel itself and the location are great: large rooms and situated at halfway the central station and the city centre. The breakfast is also very good.
Review 35:The only window I could open was a door to the fire escape, a thing you don't want to keep open while sleeping. As a result it was a bit warm in the room. Other than that, everything was okay.
Review 36:There was no air conditioning in the room.
Review 37:The location and staff were great, and so was the room. Very comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Very good shower too.
Review 38:Noisy at night, very bad sound insulation from the street. One night there was a party just under the window until literally 4am, this was a Wensday night and I had to wake up at 6am next morning. 2 hours of sleep is definitely not enough. Another night something started beeping at around midnight and was beeping until 1am. Maybe an alarm in the next room? Carpet floor in the room. Some people (me) don't like it, because one cannot clean it properly. There is no breakfast room (the tables are in the same hall as reception/entrance), breakfast selection is a bit limited.
Review 39:Location is perfect, 5 min to the train station, 10 minutes to a beautiful river, 3 minutes to the best sushi place called Sumo. Bathroom has a bathtub. Bed is very comfortable. Very nice staff.
Review 40:The wifi connection sometime was not so good.
Review 41:The staff was really nice. Very quiet place in the town center. Large and nice bedroom.
Review 42:very noisy in the hallways
Review 43:Having to leave.
Review 44:Management and staff very friendly and hepful. Visited once before last year and on arrival this year greeted like long lost friends.
Review 45:Cleaning lady with her phone playing loud music during cleaning
Review 46:The location The room
Review 47:Old building and without elevator
Review 48:Good location to nijmegen center
Review 49:Friendly staf, good beds, room and breakfast were ok
Review 50:bit noisy at the front at night
Review 51:friendly staff
Review 52:Room on streetside, bit noizy. Take Some earplugs.
Review 53:Friendly staff, perfect location
Review 54:Fantastic place with excelent hostality
Review 55:No aircon, small old rooms, overly priced
Review 56:Perfect location
Review 57:no air condition, my room was close to big road, therefore a bit noisy
Review 58:clean, comfortable, friendly people, free wifi, free coffee and tea
Review 59:Clean and comfortable room. Very good location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 60:Great hotel!
Review 61:nothing
Review 62:everyhing
Review 63:Limited staf at reception
Review 64:Location Breakfast
Review 65:Close to train station, held our luggage, nice bathroom with tub
Review 66:The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great - lots of fresh coffee that is available throughout the day and evening.
Review 67:Location; just in the center of city.
Review 68:Friendly happy staff, very clean and great location
Review 69:no comfortable chairs
Review 70:close to center
Review 71:Had a free upgrade to a double room Friendly service with a smile Breakfast was good Clean room Good, central location
Review 72:Dowdy. Cramped. Everything was 'just about' adequate.
Review 73:I could keep my bike in the room
Review 74:No lift.
Review 75:Extras in the room - kettle, fridge, tea/coffee. Very clean bathroom. Windows which could be opened. Friendly staff. Short walk from station. Busy street but very quite inside.
Review 76:Breakfast could start a bit earlier. I didn't need a 24h front desk, but would be worried if I needed one (for example if I had to arrive or leave off hours) Hotel is fine for its class, but could have a slightly better value for money.
Review 77:Good hotel, comfortable Good location Simple but good breakfast (I loved the coffee!) Great staff
Review 78:Unfortunately parking isn't good but a 5 minute walk form the underground car park isn't so bad
Review 79:Stopped here many times clean comfortable rooms and a great location
Review 80:The teenagers of Nijmegen who seem to have a soft spot for the pavement below my bedroom.Dutch trains that stop 20kms short of their destination and refuse to go any further without explanantion
Review 81:comfortable, and very adequate, clean and warm. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good
Review 82:The bedroom was very clean, quiet and super confortable bed! We arrived very late, and staff arranged nicely to allow us to enter and get into our room. The breakfast was quite nice and we recommend it!
Review 83:No lift - had to carry my heavy suitcase up 2 flights of stairs - not a major problem. The shelf above the basin was a little problem when washing your hair or your face.
Review 84:Good breakfast selection. A good Coffee available all the time in the form of Espressos. Some English TV with Dutch subtitles. All in all, a good visit.
Review 85:THere are two points to note: 1. The bed in sibgle room is really VERY narrow. 2. Windows of my room opened on the street and it was very noisy almost every night. I have no idea who was it, but these people made a lot of shouting and noise.
Review 86:I actually loved everything. The hotel is very close to the railway station - that was what I was looking for.
Review 87:There is no lift.
Review 88:The room was small but clean and comfortable. There was free WiFi and also tea & coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast was good. The hotel is centrally located.
Review 89:Sheets were like sandpaper and stained. Room was dirty and unclean. Theshower had only 2 setting hot and scalding andit was 35c outside, so notideal. If I had paid half the price I would've been happy, but notfo 80 Euros.
Review 90:The breakfast was ok, as was the location
Review 91:Location was great, easy access to the city center and station. Stuff was so helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Expecially the bathroom was so clean.
Review 92:The room was on a square that was very noisy: a large bike parking is in the middle that is open all night for people who go out late for a drink. Lots of shouting involved. The room was hot -no airco- so i had to leave the windows open.
Review 93:At walking distance from the station. Its cheap.
Review 94:No elevator, no parking in front of hotel so had to find public parking and walk to hotel, which is not nice if you have a lot of luggage.
Review 95:Friendly staff, okay rooms.
Review 96:Car park. Be ready to pay 2,45 euro for an hour of parking! And there is almost no place to park close to the hotel. I spend about 30 min driving around and looking for parking in the streets. There is underground parking near by but signs are not visible enough. Later I paid more than 20 euros for this parking and on the way out from parking I found that on Sunday exit was free of charge! In a morning I felt quite strong smell of coal smoke(probably from fireplaces of the nearest houses). I checked a window and found that it was not properly fixed to the wall, having a gap. May be only my room had this problem. Time for check out from 10 to 11 does not meet my requirements. No possibility for late check out. On weekend everything is closed that time. After check out I had to walk about an hour around empty streets before one of the restaurants opened at 12 o'clock and I got possibility to take a cap of tea.
Review 97:I like location - easy and quick to find even by car. Almost at the center of town. Staff were very nice and attentive. Nice breakfast was included in a price - not a big one, but well and good enough. Very good mattresses in the room! Bathroom was also good and modern.
Review 98:A little bit noise from the street during the night-time (at least whenI was staying at the street-side of the building). There is no elevatorin the building so if you need one this is not your place to stay.
Review 99:The room was very clean and tidy and enough big for one person. Therewas also a fridge, small safety box, and tea or coffee making facilitiesin the room. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful, and everybodyspoke excellent English. Finally, the complimentary breakfast was okaywith bread, many kinds of cheese, ham, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurt, coffee, and tea.
Review 100:Nothing, really
Review 101:The rooms - simple, clean, comfortable. Good value for money, plus the excellent central location close to central railway station and market
Review 102:Apart from the continental breakfast the was no inn house food or drink.
Review 103:Unimpressive, at first. But a great location, clean, friendly, comfortable. Just what you need after a busy day.
Review 104:It suited me but facilities like a lounge or bar or restaurant were not available. Without cooking facilities the breakfasts had to be basically cold so breads and meat and cheese, cereal etc and no items like scrambled egg, bacon, sausage.
Review 105:The hotel was small and friendly and very convenient for the town centre, the Bus and Train Station. It was also not noisy considering it's position near the centre.
Review 106:Window glasses should be washed.
Review 107:A very good location near the train station and the center of Nijmegen. A sufficiently spacious room, a good breakfast.
Review 108:Thin walls and doors, you can overhear conversations easily. Bed far too soft. Unreliable warm water supply. The reception is not 24/7 and tried to charge a single room as a double. No lift.
Review 109:Good location (easy to access, on outer city center), clean, hassle-free.
Review 110:This time I had a front facing room and the traffic circulating the roundabout was noisy.
Review 111:Conveniently situated to both the railway / bus station and restaurants in a pedestrianised neighbourhood.
Review 112:I would thoroughly recommend the Apollo Hotel. The room was cclean and comfortable, bathroom very high quality and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was excellent. I especially commend the hotel staff who are unfailingly charming and helpful. I will use this hotel again wehn visiting Nijmegen.
Review 113:The location was brilliant and the breakfast every morning made it so much easier. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again!
Review 114:Very friendly hotel, excellent place to stay, in the centre of town, but quiet. Perfect for a weekend break or shopping in Nijmegen. Very close to restaurants and shops. Public parking across the road.
Review 115:The rooms have been recently renovated so the place is bright and cheery. Our room had a door that opened onto a flat roof, so we could get fresh air. Despite being right on the pedestrian street, where everyone cheered the World Cup games on big screens at the pubs outside, the room itself was very quiet. Good light-darkening curtains, too, meant that we slept well and recovered from jetlag quickly. Lovely staff, nice breakfast.
Review 116:Fantastic location in the heart of Nijmegen. Close to shopping, restaurants and city centre. Room and bathroom were updated and spacious. Hotel staff most helpful. Great breakfast included as well as complimentary beverages upon check-in.
Review 117:Hospitable, friendly and helpful staff. Spacious, clean, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Pleasant breakfast area and menu. They accomodated our request for lower-floor, off-street room and for special billing form. Staff were very helpful in giving advice and directions regarding Nijmegen. Highly recommended.
Review 118:The room was large and the bathroom was large too with a huge bath. The staff were so helpful, letting us check in early and helping with directions etc.
Review 119:Breakfast buffet was a bit restricted. No city map available, they onlyhad one a4 printout of the mostly the city center.
Review 120:Bed was comfortable, Wi-fi is free, room is comfortable.
Review 121:no lift breakfast was at best economy pricey
Review 122:nice bathroom, close to the town centre, friendly staff, except for wine no extra prices for mini-bar
Review 123:Close to the busy Keizer karel Turnpike (massive traffic movements in the early morning and late afternoon) and close to one of the party areas in town so it can be quite bust with screaming people out on the street during the night.
Review 124:The Apollo is nicely located in the centre of town. It is a really good value for money hotel, nice rooms, clean and good toilet facilities and good breakfast, free fast internet. Friendly staff.
Review 125:we had it in summer, and it was so worm and there was no AC just fan.
Review 126:location
