Review 1：It needs renovation. Two cockroaches in the room. Almost no plugs in the room. We wouldnt pay more than what we paid offseason.

Review 5：The house is well equipped, nice pool and terrace, amazing view and has a big common kitchen and lounge. The owner was very helpful, picked us up and arranged a rental car!

Review 10：The kindest staff ever, they make sure our stay is the best possible! Great location, close to main road near São Roque do Pico, 25 min. to airport, great restaurant (Restaurante Avenida) and supermarkets nearby. The house is very well equipped, everything one could possibly need and lots more I didn't have the time to enjoy. Lots of space to park, quiet location.

Review 12：It's been pretty cold in the house, but an electrical heater was available in our room.
Review 13：Detailed directions were provided after booking, keep to these and the house is pretty easy to find. Staff is very friendly and helped us in making a reservation for a rental car. The room itself if big enough, beds are confortable and we could see Mount Pico :)
Review 14：You could not imagine better value for money at Sao Roque. The house was spacious with a beautiful view of the Atlantic and a terrace with a pool. The kitchen was fully equipped and a washing machine was also available. Isabel is very friendly and helpful. Review 15：Due to the period of the year (febr.) and heating not being available, the house was quite damp. We'ld would recommend this house in summertime.

Review 19：- NO WIFI WHATSOEVER - no staff at home that spoke english to explain facility: no reception at ALL - no phone on site in case of emergency (must use own cell if you have one to make calls) - kitchen cupboards smelled awful - bicycles for rent are 10 euros PER DAY - extremely humid in rooms even in winter - beds hard as a rock and can feel every spring

Review 21：The house was quite cold (I realize we traveled during a cooler season but sometimes, it felt warmer outside than inside) so we were often bundled in clothes to keep warm. There was also a little bit of an odd smell from the kitchen cupboards so maybe they just need a clean.
Review 22：Sportfish was in a central location so we could get anywhere on the island very easily. The communal areas were spacious and there was adequate kitchen equipment so we were able to prepare most of our meals.
Review 23：The kitchen looks clean but unfortunately the cupboard inside is not clean, rusty, with mold and smells for dampness, the same as the microwave, which I didn't risk to use. The water doesn't really become hot, it's comfortably warm for taking a shower but unfortunately not hot, which is sometimes needed after a long hike. And the dishwasher didn't work but the cleaning lady cleaned the dishes in the morning.
Review 24：This place looks gorgeous, it's a private house with big beds and private bathrooms in the rooms. It has all the facilities needed including washing machine, dryer and heaters in each room for those, who travel in winter. It's hard to say about location because on the Pico island there is no real "centre" or "city" and tourists come here for certain activities, which are reachable only by car. The hypermarket is 40min walk from this place and it's even open on Sundays till 13:00, small shop is around the corner. The house is located near the "pure nature", it's really silent and beautiful there with a view to the mountains. I would really recommend this place for couples! It is also possible to rent bicycles with helmets and lockers from the owner! All the information about the island, tours, schedules, taxis, activities is in the rooms and the owner was really helpful!
Review 25：During off-season it's not easy to find different restaurants. One by feet (10 min), one by car 7 min and another 12 km (15 min by car).

Review 27：Yuo need to agree your exact arriving time since the reception is not normally open. Very difficult to find inside Sao Roque town, as there are no marks or signals.

Review 29：Quality of the internet connection is very poor - it's available only in the lounge area but not in the rooms. Location of the house is a little bit far away from the city centre (meanwhile this town is very small).
Review 30：The house itself is big, there is a lot of space, rooms are spacious. Everything is clean, very good views from the windows and the terrace. The lady hostess is very hospitable and ready to help in case of any questions.
Review 31：Difficult to find the first time: no clear address neither at the internet pages nor at the street. The name of the facility was actually Casa Laranga (or something like that), but it belonged to the Sportfish Hotel (which name never was seen anywhere at the location). We also had to make a phone call to get the owner at place to introduce the facilities and get the keys.

Review 54：Very comfortable place with a nice view. A bit out of the center of Sao Roque, maybe 20 minutes walk to the harbour (the owner kindly gave us a lift). Very handy for people who rent a car with Oasis, as their office is just at the next street. Swimming pool.
Review 55：This was advertised as a "villa" with one room, but turn out to be a house with several rooms and one kitchen and one living room to share with complete strangers. There was another couple there that also told us they were mistaken by the advertisement (so... I guess this mistake was more than a matter of interpretation of the ambiguous text in the advertisement). And this other couple was clearly uncomfortable with our presence, as much as we were with their. Everything was kind of weird. A lot of light came into the room through the bathroom windows, which had no curtains or windowpanes. I always woke up at about 6 a.m. because of this. There was an awckward smell in the bathroom that infested the room as well during the day. Also, the bathroom door had a problem and didn't close properly -- this made the smell spread to the room frequently. The house clearly has a sanitation problem that needs to be urgently solved. The dishwasher was dirty and moldy, as many other things, specially all the kitchenwear. Things seemed to be nice and clean on the surface, but deep down they weren't. Many things were actually broken and there was a slight - yet noticeable - general lack of hygiene. Our bathtub door had a leak that made a small flood in the bathroom every time we had a shower. The housemaid never even bothered to sweep the floor on her daily cleaning. The water just remained there. And the same towels were put back on the towel trails(!). To finalize, the owner specifically wanted to be paid in cash, and asked me if I really wanted a receipt, as if this were an option -- which basically implies this is not an entirely legal and tax paying business. Only if the client really wants it to be!

Review 60：We had a tiny house behind the main house. It was quiet and secluded. The girls who assisted us were great and the cleaning was phenomenal. They folded my clothes from the clothesline! It is a short walk into town. Pico is an interesting place. You definitely need to rent a car or understand the bus system. I didn;t use the pool but it was clean and if it was warmer i would have been there. The house is not glamorous but it has cooking essentials, decent beds (ikea) and is safe.

Review 62：The owner was very welcoming and helpful; for example, she assisted us in organizing a rental car. The apartment is well-stocked and located close to a small supermarket; a big supermarket is within walking distance.
Review 63：We lived in separate small house. It was wet inside. A lot of different ants were inside. My friend, she was afraid of ants all the night in her room and didn't sleep. Mosquitos were in my room. Kitchen is good, but tableware(pan, pots) is dirty and smells bad - it was not a pleasure to cook. Water in the shower can be extremely hot or extremely cold. If you want to decrease temperature little bit - it becomes extremely cold.

Review 65：Very good owner - they booked a car for rent for me. Apartment where I lived was a separate house with 2 bedrooms and kitchen-living room. It was quiet place with ocean view and small terrace. There is big supermarket nearby and public beach. Car is a must. As for booking com info - photos placed there show two (or more) different villas, so pay attention, you will not necessary get a pool in your villa.
Review 66：We were actually expecting a hotel, based on what we had read on this website, but actually Sportfish is private accommodation. Our hosts were very welcoming. There were no other guests and we had the run of the whole upper floor of their house, which is very well furnished and roomy. Our bedroom was very comfortable. Unfortunately we were only staying for one night & leaving early in the morning, so couldn't take advantage of the well-appointed kitchen. There is a lovely swimming pool, no doubt great if the weather plays along!
