Reviews for City Living Schøller Hotel

Review 1:We stayed there for 6 nights and the rooms were never cleaned during that time. Not even the trash was brought out.

Review 2:Free coffee and tea at reception. Well equipped common kitchen.

Review 3:No lobby. Not clean the room for 2 nights. No toilet in the lobby to use the last day.

Review 4:It's in the middle of trondheim. Comfortable beds. God price.

Review 5:No breakfast in the hotel but they recommand a very nice "bakery" where you can sit, eat and drink coffee. No cosy place in the hotel to sit with colleagues / to work. No nice view from the window

Review 6:Price is quite good for the location Located in city center The room was ok (confortable bed, nice temperature, almost the total silence, etc.)

Review 7:I had asked for a two persons bed but we got two one persons beds that had been pushed together. I understand that maybe our request could not be guaranteed but either way, one big bed had been nice :)

Review 8:The location is excellent! It could not be more local. And the staff was really helpful and friendly too.

Review 9:First room had no cupboard and no tea-coocker which was included in the description on booking. Could change room afterwards - thought that for a 10 days booking these equipment should be available without extra demand.

Review 10:Very central location.

Review 11:We had to pay upon arrival and the person at the desk was surprised when I asked her to see it before to pay. She gave me an access card of 10 minutes to see it.

Review 12:Nice apartment on two levels with real stairs to reach the bedroom at upper story and the bathroom at the same story then the bedroom. For old people, it is important. Good location, free WiFi

Review 13:Perfect location close to shops, restaurants, buses, the main square and cathedral, happy, helpful staff, really comfy beds, a kitchen so we could cook, tea and coffee offered to us in reception, a nice view from our window...really enjoyed our stay.

Review 14:Trying to get to the hotel by car & then having to pay parking 4 hours at a time on the street - almost cost as much as the hotel!

Review 15:Location & self-catering & laundry facilities were excellent. Staff very helpful. Spacious room & bathroom.

Review 16:the bathroom was unusable for the awful stink! took one day of complaints and only the following day they game me an other room, apparently all second floor has problems. the wifi has a logon procedure that all my devices blocked as unsecure; tricky to make it work

Review 17:location kitchen

Review 18:Our room was on the 4th floor (like an attic) so even though it was spacious, you needed to watch your head when getting close to the low parts.

Review 19:Great 24h reception with very helpful staff. Awesome common kitchen with pretty much everything you would need to prepare all meals. Very clean spaces. Very good level of equipment and services. Free washing and drying machine use. Good WiFi with repeaters along the hallways so the signal was strong no matter where one was.

Review 20:It was clean, efficiently managed, welcoming and in a great location.Laundry option was much appreciated even though the dryer was out of order.Breakfast was substantial.

Review 21:It was a bit noisy outside at night - we think there was a bit of street party going on at park?

Review 22:The location across from the Royal Park and easy walking with great views and historic sights of Tronhiem were great. In our particular case our room in particular had great street views.

Review 23:Lights above bed are very badly positioned, an accident waiting to happen! Also we had two single beds pushed together, not a double as requested.

Review 24:Location and free coffee from the front desk.

Review 25:Very hot on warm days, should install air conditioning or ceiling fan.

Review 26:Great location in center of town. Comfortable beds, big bathroom. Close public parking.

Review 27:Only negative was the shower leaked outside of screen. But otherwise it was not a big problem.

Review 28:The location was fantastic, friendly and helpful staff, great kitchen to self-cater, quiet room, comfortable bed and facilities in room.

Review 29:Breakfast only discount voucher

Review 30:Room size, Staff friendly, allowed me to store luggage, recommendations for breakfast, bed comfort, value for money, central location

Review 31:I wish it were closer to the piers and train station.

Review 32:It was close to the things we wanted to see: cathedral and archbishop's palace and Stiftgarden. Staff were helpful about finding places to eat,

Review 33:The pillows were not really pillows (small and thin). Our window was quite strange (double glass everywhere apart from the part where the other inner windows were supposed to go on the hinges (which weren't there).

Review 34:The room and bathroom was nice. Great prices. Brilliant location. For a cheap downtown hotel, you could not ask for much more! The shared kitchen was well enough equipped for basic cooking.

Review 35:- There was always bad smell in the corridors - They dont take cash - They dont clean the room unless you stay more than 7 days

Review 36:- Nice rooms - Central location

Review 37:Small pillows made an otherwise comfortable night a bit disappointing. However this pillow size is not uncommon in Norway.

Review 38:An inexpensive accommodation option that is clean and comfortable

Review 39:It was extremely clean and the staff was really nice. The Hotel is situated in the center, so it is easily accessible from the train station and it is close to everything. The hotel also provided a common kitchen where one is able to prepare some food.

Review 40:Problems with opening the door. Raw concrete in the corridors and around the door in the room. The glass door in the shower cabin is too narrow, so the water splashed out on to the floor.

Review 41:Nice building, nice room with a great wallpaper photo and a comfortable bathroom.Nice staff.

Review 42:Parking next to the hotel was inconvenient. Furniture was cheap and damaged (but clean).

Review 43:Good location right to center (although this means that parking is inconvenient and expensive, you have to walk up to the car every five hours to re validate!). Friendly and helpful staff, affordable rates.

Review 44:The double bed was not attached, we found out that we could attache the wto bed to eachother the second day of our stay :)

Review 45:The spacious room and the central location

Review 46:Wish we could have been able to change the temperature of the room - it was too warm to sleep comfortably.

Review 47:Great location, nice room, and super price. All in all a great deal.

Review 48:No breakfast or dinner in the hotel.

Review 49:Friendly staff, excellent location downtown, parking in front of it (but you have to pay), clean room, big kitchen.

Review 50:There was a lot of noise coming from the street just outside. It was quite difficult to sleep as it went all through the night on Saturday.

Review 51:The location is nicely within walking distance to the train station and close to all types of shops and museums including the cathedral. The staff were very friendly. The kitchen facilities were clean and contained everything necessary including oil and salt. The room was comfortable. The wifi worked very well.

Review 52:The room was pretty cold when I arrived at 8 pm, not easy to get it warmer. "Naked" room.

Review 53:The price and pleasent front desk. Silent room and good bed.

Review 54:The moment we stepped into the hotel, the odor of the next door restaurant overwhelmed our senses. Apparently it is the sushi restaurant. It was so bad, it seemed all the air ducts were connected to this restaurant. Our room's air vent was even worse. We had to open the window (even though it was snowing) just to get fresh air into the room! The hotel is more like a dormitory for college age. There was no laundry area, the kitchen difficult to access, and even if these two things were good, the odor of the next door restaurant causes this hotel to reek!

Review 55:The location is good, staff was helpful, charming and kind. They understood our need to change hotels the next day due to the hotel staff leaving for several days due to the holidays!

Review 56:1)Don't get cash 2)personal on reseption disorganized, we arrived from another country abd couldn check in ,they said with there smile on the face that can't do anything

Review 57:Nothing

Review 58:The bathroom was not quite clean, should have been cleaner at the tap and around the showerdoors. I missed the hairblower (there was at the room I rented last time)

Review 59:Economic, Nice staff, quiet, Central to the citycentre and the Office I was attending

Review 60:This served its purpose - clean and comfortable for a one night stay arriving on one of the last flights into Trondheim - arrived at hotel about 12.45. Everything satisfactory but not amazing. Inexpensive for Trondheim and in that respect good value for money

Review 61:The check in staff were not helpful at all. In fact she was quite hostile. Me and another guest were at the door trying to knock and get and she would not open the door. Then I had to go out multiple times to try and lock my car and every time I got back she would not open the door. How silly? Then when I asked her as to how much would the parking meter would cost she told me she does not know. Lastly and the most irritating of all, I wanted to pay in cash as I had withdrawn the cash at the airport because the credit card transactions become very very expensive - she refused in quite a hostile manner. She was not at all customer friendly - leave aside being friendly. She should not be in that job if she does not know how to treat customers at odd hours. It left such a bad taste in my mind I am sorry to say this.

Review 62:The floor corridor was smelling fried fish in the night.

Review 63:The staff was great. The location was excellent. The room (double bed) was clean and comfortable.

Review 64:Warm and comfortable room with tv, microwave, frig and cooker. Our room was at the front of the hotel opposite the Summer Residence in a beautiful cobbled street.

Review 65:We stayed Fri, Sat and Sun nights. Room overlooked road and Sat was particularly noisy with late night revellers and then roadcleaner coming through at 2am making a lot of noise for some time. No communal areas in hotel except kitchen, so not great for groups. We ordered a deluxe room to have more space.

Review 66:Kitchen facilities for making our own breakfast and sandwiches for trips out. Good shower, comfortable beds, reliable wi-fi, street parking outside. Consider this more as serviced rooms than a usual hotel provision. We stayed three nights and room wasn't serviced in that time. Didn't bother us but might bother others.

Review 67:- frying odor/smell - unsanitary refrigerator - the sink, shower and shower curtain with Cre / established environment for fungus and dirt! - dirty mattresses, had to ask for extra sheets... - not child-proof windows - more or less no ventilation - cold bathroom floor, I turned on the heating element, but then the bathroom floor went to hot... - No resturant/breakfast, got a discount at a cafe which had closed every Sunday..

Review 68:the receptionists provide services

Review 69:Great room , spacious , free wifii , the hotel has a very nice kitchen with everything you need .Good location , close to main station and main attractions.

Review 70:I was in the last (attic) floor, with windows on the roof. As it was raining, rain was hitting directly on the windows, a lot of noise and hence difficult to sleep.

Review 71:The entrence card sometimes is demagnitized, and the hotel is not manned at nights. But on call.

Review 72:Good Pride for a good quality stay in the middle of Trondheim. Percents on a good breakfast at the best bakery in Trondheim "Godt brød" - "Good bread"

Review 73:Breakfast was not included. They said that there is a kitchen but I didn't check.

Review 74:It is a clean, neat, comfortable hotel. Very nice hotel personel.

Review 75:Nothing.

Review 76:Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Our room with a bathroom and kitchen was perfect, very thoughtfully laced out with everything we needed for 4 nights. There's a loving atmosphere that permeates Trondheim. Perhaps the spirit of St. Olaf himself?

Review 77:A bit noisy during the night from the street under construction. No breakfast. Otherwise, all good.

Review 78:The hotel is at good location. I found many restaurants nearby. I stay in a superior double room with kitchen included. Good value for stay!

Review 79:The room was hot to begin with as it was on the 4th floor, Friday night was a bit noisy in the street but after shutting the windows it was fine. The lack of in hotel breakfast was understood before we booked but it would have been nice to have a simple breakfast available.

Review 80:The room was big and clean, good size bathroom. Kitchen facilities were very good. Great central downtown location walking distance to all shops and attractions. Big windows that could be opened to let air in. I would recommend this hotel, especially if you want an inexpensive hotel in the city. Washing machine and dryer at no charge was fantastic. It was easy to have meals in the kitchen including breakfast as you are very close to the shops to buy food. This made it less expensive.

Review 81:unusually warm summer weather and no air conditioning. we had to keep Windows open which made for some noise, thus affecting a bit our sleep. for the attic rooms maybe some curtains which block out sunlight would be nice for better sleep. a little refurbishing of the paint on the walls would be nice too.

Review 82:location right in the center near main attractions. relatively quiet road. room size was Amazing. friendly and helpful staff. free coffee in the lobby, discount coupon for nearby bakery for breakfast. we got a room with a view of the summer royal palace and gardens which was nice.

Review 83:nothing on this side perhaps better reading lights at the desk but I am sure it could be provided if I asked.

Review 84:Have stayed here several times and it is the best value for money in town. I had a big room with bath, refigerator TV in the room. Kitchen is available. And it is the dead center of town on a quiet street next to the Royal Mansion - and Royalty tend to be quiet and discrete :)

Review 85:I can't think about one thing I didn't like.

Review 86:Location was ideal - in the centre. Room was very large, clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 87:The room on the fourth floor was very large and the bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean - very good! Appreciated the clean and well-organized kitchen for preparing our own dinner (though it is windowless...) Great location for seeing Trondheim.

Review 88:The TV didn't work, but then we didn't particularly want to watch TV in Norwegian.

Review 89:I am very keen to post a good review of this hotel because of the many negative reviews it has had. We stayed for 4 nights and were very impressed. We knew not to expect breakfast in the hotel, or for the laundry or rubbish to be done every day. There were plenty of places within 3 minutes' walk to have breakfast, and there is an upside of not having your room done: you don't have to worry about getting in the way of chambermaids if you come into the room at an odd time of day. The staff were unfailingly cheerful and friendly, and were happy to print out the boarding pass for our return flight (which is often a problem).

Review 90:Public parking free of charge only to 8 a.m.

Review 91:Close to city center. All facilities as washing machine, drying machine, dishwasher. Very pleasant staff

Review 92:our view out the window was the inner yard into other guests rooms. Staff was friendly but very reserved. But the room itself was tidy and clean! Good stay!

Review 93:Noise from the generator outside. Heat in the room. No toilet in the common area f. ex. near the reception No hairdryer. No proper soaps to wash.

Review 94:Location

Review 95:Central location for trains, busses, metro. I could buy the Oslo-pass in front of the hotel. While enjoying my breakfast I could watch all kind of people going to work.

Review 96:Parking was something to be planned for but the Hotel's arrangement with Europarks worked well. It helped that I knew Trondheim from previous visits; the one way system can be un-nerving.

Review 97:so good to be in the heart of town with everything just a stroll away, (or a bus ride to Ringve Museum)

Review 98:no parking, public parking 130NOK per night.

Review 99:The reception propose us upgrade - better apartment only for 100 NOK mor. It was very nice surprise . We had apartment with two levels , very comfortable .

Review 100:Lack of acces to Internet

Review 101:It was guite good.

Review 102:Very nice location in Trondheim

Review 103:Central and simple. Very good price.

Review 104:nothing

Review 105:helpful personnel very convenient location

Review 106:Only OK clean not pristine, but acceptable

Review 107:Great location

Review 108:Bad madrass and shower curtains.

Review 109:Fridge smelled

Review 110:Centrally located

Review 111:Great spot, lovely room and kitchen area for guests. Perfect!

Review 112:no restaurant, not so clean

Review 113:Romslig, refregirator i rom.

Review 114:The room was perfect, very comfortable and clean. The staff is great. Go there!!

Review 115:Perhaps the lack of a tea kettle in the room.

Review 116:Clean, spacious room & bathroom. Good location in city. served our purpose well

Review 117:The washing machine was very eccentric.

Review 118:Perfect location, good sized room, comfy bed, huge bathroom

Review 119:It was a bit tired. Cooking fat smell in corridor but not in rooms.

Review 120:Water all over the floor after shower

Review 121:Surprisingly quiet

Review 122:One can smell the kitchen of a nearby restaurant quit strongly at the staircase

Review 123:very central in the city center, for a budget price

Review 124:Street noise at night when windows opened as this was the only way to cool the room.

Review 125:Central location and huge room.

Review 126:got only one pair of towels for 6 nights stay

Review 127:nice stuff, nice kitchen available to use, great location, great wi-fi signal and speed

Review 128:Wi-Fi problems. Laundry was better organized in Tromso City Living.

Review 129:Friendly staff except first night. Cosy room. Big kitchen.

Review 130:My room key kept not working

Review 131:One of the rooms we booked had a large kitchen and upper floor..

Review 132:Value for money; fantastic location, well equipped shared kitchen, laundry facilities, friendly and helpful staff.
