Reviews for Inn at Mystic

Review 1:I visit often and have noticed recently they no longer provide water inside the rooms.

Review 2:Great staff... they are always willing to accommodate us. Wonderful place to visit and enjoy a romantic getaway. The Harbor House also has an awesome staff, with great food, as well!

Review 3:The hotel pictures on the website did not exist, in any way. I called twice to see if I should spend more money because I wanted the nicest place that I could have because I needed a few days of relaxation because I go to school full time and work full time and I pay for school. It was dirty it was old it look like a hotel room there were no bathrooms like they say in the description you can call up and I'll give you a waffle style hospital gown style bathrobe that's itchy and thin. They include that because they're manipulating you into the entire picture that they shown on the website which is completely not true and I honestly believe they should be sued for misleading people and I think it's horrible how people keep doing this I was ready to go down there and ask for my money back and go to the Hampton Inn down the street where I could have got an extra night and stayed for even less being a Hilton Honors member but I'm sick of arguing and I'm too tired for my life to even argue anymore about what people should not even doing. I want someone so bad to see the pictures that I took its so sad so dirty so gross my refrigerator was in the bathroom land my room was not supposed to have a Jacuzzi because it was supposed to have a fireplace and a patio but I got a tub and when I tried to take a bath I couldn't because there was no stopper so I called the lady at the front desk and she brought me a Dunkin Donuts lid from a coffee disposable Dunkin Donuts then lead to put on top of the hole in the bathtub which doesn't even make sense because it would just float. It needed a stopper. The entire place was a lie they show you a room of what your room looks like that's not what my room looked like I have plenty of pictures this was disgusting

Review 4:The view was okay but it didn't matter really cuz I was completely misled and lied to. The bed was comfortable

Review 5:We wished there were china mugs for tea/coffee instead of disposable cups. And the TV was too far from the bed to view easily.

Review 6:We loved the location with views over the water, and the large private room.

Review 7:There should be blankets available in the room if someone wants them. It was a chilly night and it was late so i didn't want to redress and go to the front desk to get one.

Review 8:Breakfast was good. The room was ok. No blanket on the bed and it was a chilly night.

Review 9:The Inn is spacious and the rooms a generous size. We had water views as does every room I expect. Very pleased to have had the opportunity to stay there.

Review 10:No microwave was an issue. Some framed prints were faded. Altho clean for the most part, we did find trash and cobwebs behind the tv cabinet. The shower room walls were in serious need of repair/replacement.

Review 11:The location/view was wonderful, the bed was comfy. Availability of wood for fireplace was a nice touch. So if you are willing to risk the public using a fireplace, why not risk the microwave?

Review 12:Excellent stay. We stayed there for our honeymoon, we loved the roomwith jacuzzi & fireplace. The nearby restaurant is very good and thearea is just beautiful. Staff super friendly, we had accidentally bookedthe wrong date and they let us change it without any problem. Can'twait to go back!

Review 13:It was a $70.00 difference for a Friday night reservation vs a Thursday night. But it was worth it. I would stay there again, we had a good view of the bay, from our balcony and an even better view from Harbor House restaurant on the property when we ate breakfast.

Review 14:very poor lighting in the room. beds were short (I'm 5'10) and had to hang my feet over the bottom of the bed to get sheet and cover over my upper body.

Review 15:location--restaurant. have stayed here 2-3 times before and were not disappointed.

Review 16:The room was very small, no closet, no place to put suitcases. Have stayed in better places for the same price.

Review 17:Close to town centre. The grounds were nicely kept.

Review 18:Thought the complimentary breakfast little mean and no alternative on weekdays

Review 19:Good room although on second floor it was entered on the level and had balcony and view of the river. Andrew on reception very helpful Not far from downtown and the seaport.

Review 20:Wasn't in love with the need for a step ladder to get in and out of the bed. Also, the late arrival of the cleaning staff. Need more staff??

Review 21:The great location...gorgeous water views,.

Review 22:Staff is not only friendly helpful and courteous but they treat you like family. Hated to leave wish I could live there..definitely will be back again and again and again!

Review 23:Room type reservation issue was very disappointing. Mildew in the shower.

Review 24:Loved the Harbor House dining. Nice view of the water and decent pool. Dining staff were very nice. Close to whats going on. Beds were comfortable.

Review 25:There was no refrigerator or microwave. Dirty glasses and cobwebs outside the front door for several days.

Review 26:The staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The view was excellent and plenty of parking.

Review 27:The bathroom was a little worn but completely functional.

Review 28:Location was great. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They offered free kayaks and bicycles. The continental breakfast was including but could be upgraded to a full breakfast. The restaurant was excellent with good views from the balcony.

Review 29:Nothing to say here. I would definitely go back!

Review 30:Staff was great! Loved the included kayaks and Art was very helpful and accommodating! Very peaceful!

Review 31:Hotel has clearly been renovated and the rooms we had were fine. Things were a little tired in places, the pool gate hard to open, and the ac quite noisy.

Review 32:Lovely position above the coast. Great views. Easy access to Mystic town. Great pool. Free bike hire which we used and enjoyed.

Review 33:Room needed updating. Peeling wallpaper, bathroom facilities were old making a lot of noise you could hear from other rooms. Air conditioning could not keep up with heat out side during the day.

Review 34:Location was good. Easy walk to town and good view. Restaurant was very good both from s food and price standpoint.

Review 35:we booked through Booking.com and when we got there they didn't have the room with a balcony as we had planned...they simply said it wasn't available. we took the left over which was on the end of the parking lot, the room was small and my friend and i could barely get past one another. the bathroom was the worst, two doors that banged into each other and that seemed out of place and outdated.

Review 36:the food on the property was good

Review 37:Room needed updates , the balconey wood rotting but they were updating other rooms also though bed comfortable it was high requiring step stool... Not my taste

Review 38:Large room, nice balconey, good parking.

Review 39:update the bathroom, electrical outlets in the room, not enough, not able to plug things in outlets, cord does not stay in

Review 40:the restaurant right on premises, close to attractions nearby

Review 41:The room was extremely dated. Wallpaper was yellowing and peeling in multiple places, terrible scent from overpowering store bought air freshener, big u identified white stain on wood frame bed. Overall, very poor quality for the amount that is charged.

Review 42:The location is convenient to downtown attractions and overlooks the water.

Review 43:we had left the room for the day around 11am and when we came back around 5pm the room was not made up and no fresh towels.we were able to get some towels at the desk with an apology. If I didn't read over the bill I would have paid significantly more than I booked the room for.But the staff did correct the oversight without a problem.

Review 44:The room itself was great, the fireplace and Jacuzzi along with the balcony view was a great way to spend our 30th wedding anniversary. The food at the Harbor House was very good.

Review 45:The property, the balcony in particular needed maintenance. Basic painting.

Review 46:Loved the Harbor House restaurant! The view, the food, the entertainment, and the staff were all excellent!!

Review 47:Upon check-in the wrong room had been held. The room had been cleaned but a bag of trash and dirty towels were left in the room. No closet. No suit case rack. Uncomfortable bed Mold in the shower

Review 48:we liked having a balcony...good view the restaurant food was very good as was their staff. the grounds were very nicely maintained.

Review 49:There were some issues with the WiFi especially in the morning. The first day the staff at the Harbor House not all that friendly. Could not even get a second cup of coffee. It was better the next day.

Review 50:The room was spacious and beds comfortable. Towels just okay -- not so soft and fluffy. The pool also okay. There was some kind of pollen floating on the water so a cleaing would have been nice. Also the railing into the pool is very loose and the gate in and out of pool area was tricky for everyone.

Review 51:Power problems prevented us from trying the restaurant. Bed was too soft, no light on our balcony, no tissues in hotel room! no jacussi next to pool, pool filter not working. No one asked us how we enjoyed our stay.

Review 52:Pool, use of kayak-would have used bikes too, but was too hot

Review 53:The staff at the restaurant were unbelievably slow. To get a cup of coffee and a bagel, I had to wait over a half an hour (no, they weren't busy).

Review 54:The staff at the front desk were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The property was beautiful and in such a great location.

Review 55:The pool was very cloudy, couldn't see the bottom, so we choose not to go in. The breakfast was served too late for early travelers such as we are.

Review 56:The room was nice and clean.

Review 57:They gave us a different room that we booked and only after reclamation we got the right one. When checking out they billed us for about $ 600 although the reservation said $ 320. The total sum was already processed and the balance will be settled om my credit card. There reaction was ; this can happen no worries! Not a good feeling when we left.

Review 58:The location and cleanliness was exillent. The staff was pleasent and very helpful and the resterant was good with a buetiful view .I would stay here again.

Review 59:Our mattress was a little too soft. The facility needs updating, although it can be seen that the owners have started this big project. The Harbor House service was not good, although the staff were pleasant.

Review 60:We liked the property, spaciousness and appearance of our room, and the view (although we would have enjoyed the balcony view more than the first floor patio view). The staff was accommodating as we asked for additional pillows and they came relatively fast. The Harbor House restaurant was convenient and had good food. There was a swimming pool, tennis court and kayak available, if we had the time to participate. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Review 61:Room (deluxe king with balcony) a little on the small side. Room contained one armchair and one dining chair so not great for watching tv in the late evening, and watching whilst sitting on the end of the bed was not an option as it was a VERY high 4 poster! Wifi was free but frequently disconnected.

Review 62:Superb onsite restaurant. Bar has 24 craft beers on draught. Lovely views. Staff very friendly. Excellent location for walking into town or for catching the train. Clean and tidy.

Review 63:Hotel is very outdated and the condition of the room was fair. Yellowing stain on the wallpaper, trim missing in places, stain on ceiling Was told there was a nature trail. It had rained (not their fault), but the trail had a large dumpster and debris all over Dock to use kayak was sunk Exterior of building is rotting in many places

Review 64:Harbour House Restaurant was beautiful

Review 65:My husband ordered clams-on-the-half-she'll and the were spoiled. This charge of was taken off of our bill.

Review 66:Having meals on the deck was so enjoyableand view overlooking the water was so nice. The entertainment was wonderful on the Thursday night we were there. The location of the hotel made it so easy to visit the area attractions.

Review 67:continental breakfast is only made by an orange juice and toasted bread everything more you have to pay our double bed room was too small we traveled with our kids and had to sleep with kids because two adults can't share the same bed! one bed was attached to the conditioner! conditioning is always noisy and had to turn it off at night

Review 68:it's a nice place with a view of the bay with the chance to use the restaurant's pool that's close to the rooms we had a garden right outside our room that's good to cool outside but you have to be protected by mosquitoes otherwise it's a pain

Review 69:Our first room was not what I expected, paint can & ladder in bathroom, bed was not a queen size like requested, balcony had loose boards.

Review 70:The Harbor House restaurant was very good, great staff and food. Maintenance staff "Tony" was excellent, very helpful.

Review 71:The room was amazing. It had a fireplace and a huge whirlpool tub, in addition to the full bathroom. They had everything you needed to build the fire. An amazing view of the water

Review 72:Only that we weren't able to stay longer and enjoy your hospitality!

Review 73:We checked in late on our way to move to Myrtle Beach SC. The young man on duty seeing our age and my husbands obvious difficulty walking, changed us to a room next to office and my adult diabetic son had an insulin reaction at morning and they quickly gave us plenty of juice to bring him out of it. Kudos to all your staff and many thanks. Will definitely recommend your Inn. Would love to stay there again when in the area

Review 74:really nice and traditional / typical Inn at this small town called mystic. the staff was really friendly and everything was ok. tip: try the restaurant which offers excellent dinner & wines

Review 75:We ate at the restaurant 3 times. The first dinner was outstanding. Food was great (recommend the crepes and duck) and our waiter was very helpful. Went back to breakfast. Waitress did not come back to table for 30 minutes. Waited >35 minutes for pancakes and eggs. Dinner that same night, nearly 30 minutes for chicken wings and 2 salads. Waiter was no where to be found. Disappointing. 2nd night, no firewood for fire and the fireplace was full of the ashes from the previous night. Smell was terrible.

Review 76:We had a view of the water which was great. We had a fireplace which was a very nice touch for the first night. The room was comfortable.

Review 77:the room smelled musty.one bar soap for two people no shampoo.asked for wedding package information nothing left for me .Food was not worth the price.dissapointed.

Review 78:the location

Review 79:Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. The room was VERY small for the number of guests coming in at 8 o'clock. Selection of food was adequate at best.

Review 80:Location was great. Staff was very friendly, and helpful with questions.

Review 81:No guest laundry.

Review 82:Location - 5 minutes from the train station with lovely views out to sea. Huge, high class room with substantial bathroom and sea-view balcony for a budget rate. Generous continental breakfast was an added bonus. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 83:There was a mouse in wall over headboard, scratching all night, didn't get any sleep

Review 84:The cleanliness of the room and the views. Location was perfect.

Review 85:Wood burning fireplace was difficult to keep lit..gas fireplace wood have been better. Wanted a balcony but got a patio

Review 86:Live entertainment in the bar on Friday night

Review 87:We were very surprised when we showed up and it was more like a motel where you drive up to the door. The pictures on the Web make it look like an old mansion with rooms similar to a bed and breakfast. We drove up the driveway to see the Hayley Mansion and noticed it was in disrepair. The whole grounds are pass due for a fresh coat of paint. The tennis court has a big crack in it. We feel that it was false advertising. However, the room was clean.

Review 88:There is a restaurant next to the rooms that had a great band playing.

Review 89:We were told continental breakfast would be in the restaurant when we checked in and instead it was in a small room off the lobby.

Review 90:The staff was congenial and the room was pleasantly arranged and clean and comfortable.

Review 91:The room was terrific. We had lots of privacy but the staff was always friendly and helped with any slight glitches. The onsite restaurant was great for Brunch. We had dinner there with live music. Fabulous!

Review 92:I could heard every noise in the next room... The wall is completely thin..

Review 93:The breakfast view. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly ...

Review 94:The staff were nice, RFID room keys instead of mag strips. Free continental breakfast OR comp price of the breakfast towards anything else on the menu. Good onsite (small) restaurant with good food and a lot of craft beer on tap. Good wine selection and mixed drinks as well, music entertainment on some nights. The clientele were a little older compares to my wife and I though. Nice rooms, clean and mostly quiet, decently sized too

Review 95:The room was clean but needed attention. There no housekeeping visit for 2nd day. The furniture was mismatched and the television was from the 80's. Bathroom door would not latch. A number of problems with door key cards and being locked out was inconvenient

Review 96:The views were beautiful. The balcony was refreshing. Very friendly staff. Hearty and delicious breakfast meals.

Review 97:We paid for a premium room in "the mansion" with views of the water. The room was so OLD - it hadn't been updated for a long time. The advertised fireplace had a plexiglass cover so it couldn't be used. We clearly heard the people "doing things" in the next room. The bathroom was old. The shower didn't drain. The balcony was a joke.

Review 98:The restaurant on site was nice. Location is good for tourism.

Review 99:There was a hum of noise all night, perhaps from the heating system or elsewhere. I don't know but I'm a light sleeper and it kept me awake. Also, the room lighting was poor.

Review 100:Photos suggested a far different appearance. It was not at all clear that the buildings with the rooms were not in any of the pictures. A bed and breakfast like atmosphere was portrayed while in reality it is a motel. Free breakfast was for only two of four in our family and was a single slice of toast with juice. Based on the false assumption of a beautiful place to stay we paid more than we would have for closer (to the Aquarium) and nicer chain hotels.

Review 101:Few outlets in the room--had to search. And a couple of the outlets were very old and disturbingly loose--the plugs fell out! Need a couple of replacements. The "continental breakfast" was pretty Spartan. Just tea, juice, and an English muffin could use a bit of fruit, perhaps. I didn't want to upgrade to the breakfast buffet because we had a luncheon party, but that was a bit lean. A tea refill would have been nice.

Review 102:Staff was very courteous and the room was well equipped, quiet, & clean. Bed was very comfortable. I always appreciate a small refrigerator in the room. For the cost I would most certainly return. Lovely view across the water. And I felt quite safe.

Review 103:Room was slightly shabby and dated. Service at breakfast was slow.

Review 104:Bed was very comfortable. Evening restaurant and bar very attractively active. WiFi was very good. Location in Mystic was excellent.

Review 105:We returned to our room by 3:00 p.m. and it still hadn't been cleaned. A member of the staff knocked on the door wanting to clean it then but we didn't want to have to leave again.

Review 106:We had a lovely time. Especially enjoyed the WOOD burning fireplace in the room. Also enjoyed the restaurant both for brunch and dinner.

Review 107:We had no complaints about our room or stay

Review 108:Beautiful room and comfortable bed, seems like it was recently updated. We had a balcony with a lovely water view. All staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.

Review 109:Sadly when we arrived at the Inn there was no room at the Inn! Our confirmation through booking.com did not reach the Inn for some unexplained reason. The Inn was sold out of rooms but had an "emergency" room with a double bed that we were given, despite the king we reserved. My husband had to sleep on the floor of the room because the bed was too small for two of us.

Review 110:The front desk staff and the restaurant staff were all wonderful and accommodating.

Review 111:Nothing.

Review 112:Inn at Mystic is a wonderfully warm and romantic place to stay. Our room was lovely. The decor was quaint and the balcony view was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were absolutely clean and tidy, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! A real plus was the fact that the property is located just outside the busy downtown Mystic. It is situated high on a hilltop. My wife and I spent part of one day just strolling through the grounds, and enjoying the views. Inn at Mystic was even more than we expected!! We will definitely stay again, soon!

Review 113:nothing

Review 114:Facilities were very comfortable. On site restaurant was excellent. Dinner menu was high quality and very well prepared. Staff was friendly and very efficient.

Review 115:The restaurant at the Inn at Mystic is very good! The hotel location is perfect; Beautiful views, close to shopping, the Mystic Seaport Museum, and the Mystic Aquarium. Don't miss visiting Juno, the Beluga Whale at the Aquarium. Overall a nice weekend getaway.

Review 116:The Inn at Mystic offers Convienent location, tennis, a pool and other amenities, A majestic view plus good value for the lodging. Our Room was comfortable the on site resturant offered nice menu and good food. The Staff in the hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. I would return.

Review 117:My room was supposed to have two queen beds but they seemed like full size and the room was very small. We didn't even have a chair except a desk chair.

Review 118:Everyone from the time of check in to checkout was extremely friendly and made me feel very important.Even everyone at the Harbour Restaurant went out of their way to accommodate us.

Review 119:Not even one complaint

Review 120:Beautiful place to stay..loved the room with the wood-burning fireplace. Great location with a wonderful view. Would recommend it for anybody that goes to Mystic. Great place to stay

Review 121:Nothing :)

Review 122:Location, close to town Cute rooms with comfortable bed Nice restaurant on property with amazing view and good food by the fireplace Has use of kayaks off dock near property

Review 123:Room was a little musty, windows were hard to open and close, flies were in the bedroom, spider's were in the bedroom; shower drain was clogged; rugs were old and somewhat dirty; ice machine was in the basement; not really my opinion of a bed and breakfast. no real explanation of any amenities at front desk at check in.

Review 124:location and the view was good, food at the HH was very good and reasonable.

Review 125:Room was small for two full beds. One bed was right on top of the air conditioner so one side of the room froze and the other was hot

Review 126:The location was beautiful.

Review 127:The only thing we did not like was the room we stayed in. We were lead to believe that the room was a beautiful one and the view over looking the harbor was great. The room though clean had peeling wall paper, spiders making a home right outside our door and a worn dated look about it. As for the view there really wasn't one. It was over priced for sure and we will not return.

Review 128:Location was near various good restaurants with good food and great ambience. Service all around was excellent. Close to town by car and it's shopping center. Enjoyed the various shops in town and it's pleasant merchants. We found the people had a laid back considerate type of attitude towards us that made us feel comfortable and welcomed in their town. We plan to go back for a few days to do some Christmas shopping since we found some unique items we would like to give away to family & friends.

Review 129:The inn is unbelievably rundown. The bathroom was actually disgusting. For a price that competes with most boutique hotels, it needs a major facelift and better service. No roomservice and the concierge couldn't recommend a restaurant other than the very underwhelming restaurant at the hotel.

Review 130:The inn has a nice location, overlooking the bay and very close to town.

Review 131:Tiny rooms with a filthy bathroom. Our tub not only had moldy grout, there was hair on the walls. Pool was old and grimy.

Review 132:Cute exterior and grounds. Convenient location.

Review 133:Nice place, nice rooms, the staff ist very friendly, a good restaurant. It is worth to stay there. We arrived and planned to stay only for one night. But when we saw the hotel, we decided to stay another night. We like to come back, because it was such a nice place.

Review 134:Dated decor, shabby in places. The queen mattresses in the room were very soft and because we prefer firmer mattresses it didn't make for a comfortable night. The TV only showed one channel and it wasn't a HD flatscreen as advertised but a old style TV with a tube. No iPod Dock alarm in room as advertised. Both the bath and the sinks filled with water when the plugs were out and then took a long time to empty. As a result we were shin deep in water when showering. The restaurant manager at Harbor House (the hotel bar and restaurant) was intimidating and confrontational in his manner and the service was on the slow side. The Hostess on the other hand was very friendly and accommodating. The food was mediocre.

Review 135:The location is excellent, a short walk from downtown Mystic. We had a lovely view over the cove from the balcony. There was plenty of interesting outside space for our 3 year old to explore. Following the recent change in management there are ongoing efforts to update the rooms and public spaces. I am sure that it will be an entirely different place in only a few months time. The reception staff were very friendly. The room was clean and free bottled water was appreciated.
