Reviews for Riad Tamdakhte
Review 1:During winter time the whole building, being a riad, with an open courtyard, can be slightly cold (I assume this could be an advantage during summer time!) The size of the rooms is not the best if you travel in more than 2.
Review 2:A freshly renewed building offering a cozy atmosphere and a great view over the valley and the kasbah. The owner, Mohammad, is the perfect host and is full of suggestions for your trip. The best part is surely the food, probably the best we had on our whole trip to Morocco.
Review 3:Lovley riad and very gentle family. The meals (breakfast and dinner) are such great, delicious and homemade. Beautiful view in the mountains. Evertime again.... Mercie beaucoup Mohammed et Aisha
Review 4:Nothing.
Review 5:The room is gorgeous as is the entire Riad. Situated in the entrance to the medina, once they open the locked door you enter a gorgeous modern newly built Riad. It is obvious that every detail is taken into account in designing this Riad. When we arrived we were greeted by the hotel manager who had a cart for all of our luggage . They then greeted us with hot mint tea and cookies and a map where they explained how to navigate the city and the medina. He was very kind and answered all of our questions.I am traveling as a mom with my 2 sons in their early twenties and we all love this Riad. We stayed here for Four nights. I became sick while staying in this Riad from the food I ate outside of this Riad, (seafood I think) and the hotel manager could not have been more accommodating. He went out and bought me medicine for an upset stomach and naseau, and brought me rice, toast and jam and tea throughout the day.Being located in the medina I was surprised how quiet and clean the rooms were. Especially at night it is quiet unless you have particularly loud guests when in the hallways. The room was very comfortable to stay in for the day as were all the beds. I slept in a queen size bed my sons each had a separate bed in a private room with a heavy privacy curtain to keep out the light or sound of the other room. Their room had a flat screen tv where I watched CNN and American movies on the days I did not feel well. They have plenty of pillows and very comfortable comforters as in a 5 star hotel. There room was offered as a room with a single twin bed and a lounge sofa and matching stool. They easily converted the lounger into a second very comfortable twin size bed.The bathroom is what you would find in a five star hotel, all marble and gorgeous. The pictures on-line appropriately show this lovely private bathroom. It is stunning. They have a safety deposit box and locks on the all-wood closets.
Review 6:Internet connection was pretty poor. Beware the road to get there is pretty tough for a small car.
Review 7:The view is spectacular and the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Traditional Moroccan food is served at reasonable price so we didn't have to travel far to look for restaurants.
Review 8:the location is beautiful with a view of the mountains or the tamdakhte kasbah. mohammed is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome with his beautiful smile. mint tea upon arrival with nuts - followed with an equally wonderful gorgeous chicken tagine with figs, vermicilli with cinammon and almonds, bread and a lovely soup. breakfast was also delicious - although way too much food. i can't wait to return!
Review 9:The staff was extremely helpful and dependable at all times. The riad had been magnificently decorated and refurbished. Breakfasts were absolutely smashing and so abudant!
Review 10:Wonderfully kind and helpful owner. His wife cooked us one of the nicest meals we had while we were in Morocco. The view from our room over an old Kasbah was breathtaking as the sun rose
Review 11:Everything was perfect: the room, the view from the room, the location, dinner, breakfast on the rooftop. And the kindness of the family that runs the Riad.
Review 12:Wifi too slow to be useful (this might often be a problem in rather remote locations in Morocco)
Review 13:- Located 5km behind Ait Ben Haddou in a beautiful and quiet valley with a stunning view from the roof terrace. Only the last 400 meters to the Riad is unpaved road, no problem at all with every car - The host is very nice and lives with his family in the Riad. He took me on a 2 hours walk around the area, this is highly recommendable - Good location to visit Ait Ben Haddou in the late afternoon when most tourists left already and the light is good for pictures. But the Riad itself is far enough away from all the tourism in Ait Ben Haddou. - Best breakfast we had in Morocco. - All in all, I liked this place most out of the 7 places where we stayed during our time in Morocco!
Review 14:This place is very warm and cosy. Beautiful, small riad run by a friendly family. Mohammed is a great host, always keen to help. We had dinner here and it was delicious. Recommended!
Review 15:None
Review 16:The host was simply great and the location wonderful (quite, tranquil, relaxing and beautiful). We think this was the nicest B&B we stayed during our whole trip in Marrocco.
Review 17:If I had to fault something it would be that the internet is a bit slow but this is a small price to pay for such a wonderful experience.
Review 18:This place is truly special. We arrive there at night tired from a long drive and where immediately cheered by the owner's welcoming smile. He lead us into the beautifully lit courtyard complete with a trickling fountain and colorful carpets. After settling in we were treated to a delicious dinner, the best we had during our two week trip. The roof terrace is great for star gazing. The next day we had a delicious breakfast complete with home made yogurt and fresh orange juice. The whole family was there when we left to wish us fare well. We loved this place and would definitely recomend it!
Review 19:Nothing!
Review 20:We loved our stay at this riad. Wow, it was one of our best stays in Marocco! Mohammed is so friendly, helpful and enthusiastic! He wants to give you a very good stay and nothing is too much for him. At the roof you have an amazing view and by night you see so much stars. Aicha cooks delicious, the food was really great! Thumbs up for this special hardworking couple!
Review 21:When we arrived, the host with his wife, children (and cute cat) were waiting for us to welcome us in 'their' home. The food we got every evening and morning was the best we ate during our entire trip in Marocco (Thank you Aisha!). The host also went hiking with us through the area, we saw very nice things that we couldn't have found without him. And not to forget: the cake they baked for my daughter's 21's birthday!
Review 22:- Only down side is that there is no internet in the rooms and that the internet isn't very fast.
Review 23:- Mohammed and Aicha are truly great hosts. - Mohammed did a hike together with us, even though it was the first day of the ramadan he was so kind to show us around with a 2 hour stunning walk through nearby villages and beautiful nature. - The food Aicha cooks is simply amazing! - Since the raid is also their home it feels like becoming part of their family for a couple of days which we really enjoyed! - Mohammed arranged a great price deal for us to do a quad tour. - Amazing location with great view and roof terrace
Review 24:Get used to bathrooms without door in Morroco, just the curtain ;-)
Review 25:New facility, well kept, fine location, easy to find (car needed), incredible view to local 'kasbah' and milions of stars from the roof terace, rich breakfast. Most kind owner, whole family (including cat) involved in 'business'. Deserves recomandation.
Review 26:Going away :-(
Review 27:The location is breathtaking. Mohammed and Aicha are wonderful hosts, we felt like being at home. The dinner and the breakfast were delicious. Mohammed guided us to the nearby caravaneer's caves, across a local village and the river: an unforgettable experience.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:Excellent and kind reception by the owners, Mohammed and his wife, felt like we were vip. Wonderful home made food, we had a dinner there as well, didnt want to go anywhere. First time we felt like we could stay at hotel forever;-) New and clean rooms with beautiful traditional decoration. View from the rooms was simply marvelous..yellow mountains, kasbas, river valley.
Review 30:The wifi is slower than ideal, with limited range around the riad.
Review 31:The homely feel of the riad, with young family hosts very much part of the daily life of the riad; Mohammed the host is so warm and friendly and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect; the quality of the dinner and breakfast was fantastic; good beds and pillows.
Review 32:Great location. A bit remote, far from tourists and even a bit away from the main road, but it´s in the middle of an amazing countryside with a great view over an impressive old Kasbah (fortress) and the river oasis around.Nice inner courtyard with fountain and traditional architecture. You really feel at home, Marrocco style. Very nice hosts!!!
Review 33:Located in charming, peaceful, fairy-tale-like environment 5 km from world-famous Ait-Ben-Haddou. The riad's host is extremely friendly and helpful and the cuisine is superb, slow-food quality for the price of a normal tourist menu.
Review 34:The bathroom water pressure was not good, and the hot water ran out after only 2 mins which meant rest of shower was in cool water.
Review 35:Most welcoming hosts, friendly family run Riad. The Host Mohamed was knowledgable, gave us good tips and information and he & his wife prepared us the most amazing traditional meal. The rooms itself are functional, neat and clean, with good views. All in all the service was very good and personal. The riad is also charming and well situated away from the buzz of Ait Benhaddou
Review 36:Warm welcome and continuing hospitality and generosity. Exceptional breakfast and dinner with lots of local dishes. Clean and comfortable room with super views of the old village and oasis. Good internet access.
Review 37:Mohamed welcomed us with a smile at the door, and throughout the visit made sure we had all we needed, offered us tea and refreshments, and even took us out for a long and wonderful walk to see the nearby villages, the valley and the "caravan hotel" in the caves across the river. In the evening, Aicha and the girls in the kitchen cooked and served food that really was something special. Probably the best we've had in Morocco (and we have eaten really well everywhere). The riad is also a good location for visiting Telouet, with its marvelous kasbah.
Review 38:This place is absolutely perfect. It exceeded our expectations and more. The Riad itself is spotless and beautifully decorated and in a great location! The owner, Mohamed welcomed us with a smile throughout our stay, was very friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. A perfect host who really deserves a an award for his outstanding customer service. We travelled around Morocco for a week and stayed in 4 different accommodations. This was definitely our favourite place and really I cannot even compare it to the rest, truly our favourite stay ever in every way. To top it all off we can confidently say that we had our best ever meals here and we have travelled to many countries, from breakfast on the terrace to lunch and dinner, so much choice and very very tasty especially the Tajine made by Mohamed's wife Aisha and their daughters, it was something really special. If you are coming to Morocco you must visit Riad Tamdakhte. We cant wait to visit again. Thank you Mohamed for exceeding our expectations in every way. Our stay with you will be hard to compete with.
Review 39:Wifi only available in the common area - not in the room. Not a big thing tho!
Review 40:Very friendly, very nice hosts, nice room, best breakfast of the entire trip! Tasty tea!
Review 41:Quiet location a few km away from Ait Ben Haddou. Riad Tamdakhte is located in a quiet village with beautiful surroundings. The owner, Mohamed, was so friendly and took so well care of us during our visit. We have eaten well everywhere in Morocco, but Aicha and the girls in the kitchen of Riad Tamdakhte take the prize I think. Truly outstanding food! If you plan to visit this area, and want to get away from the noise in Ait Ben Haddou, this is a perfect place to stay.
Review 42:my friend and I had a wonderful time! The food was excellent, the staff were lovely and lots of fun and the location was great. When I return to morocco I will definitely be back for another visit.
Review 43:Access road needs improvement but that's a minor issue.
Review 44:Situated above the Kasbahs the Road offers a breathtaking view. This is much better than staying in one of the Kasbahs.
Review 45:No free wifi! If there was wifi here this place would be unstoppable!!!
Review 46:The owner, Mohammed, was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. The riad itself was like a dream! Comfortable, warm, and beautifully decorated…our own personal palace :)
Review 47:Beautiful riad in a stunning surrounding. The owner took us on a 3 hour mindblowing walk to explore the area. They serve wonderful meals and breakfast can be served on the rooftop terrace under the sun.
Review 48:The host made our stay! We got a great room away from all the tourists of Ait ben Hadou, an oasis of peace and kindkness. His wife made us a superb dinner and the next day the host took us out for a splendid hike... If your looking for value for money, this is the place! Marocco couldńt have a better ambassador ...
Review 49:Hot water only available rarely.
Review 50:Excellent host speaks very good French. Very comfortable rooms.
