Reviews for Boutique Hotel The Roosevelt

Review 1:The hotel interior is attractive and tasteful and the breakfast is purely amazing. The staff is warm and welcoming and very helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Review 2:In the room, the design was beautiful but not always functional: if you got up in the night to use the toilet, because the door is translucent, you wake up the other person (and the light is on a timer). In the shower, no place for towels. But very lovely and comfortable.

Review 3:Beautiful hotel, great bar, very friendly staff at reception.

Review 4:We had the family suite, which is just too expensive for what it is. Half of the room smelled quite musty and the floors were not clean enough.

Review 5:Breakfast was excellent and the common areas cosy, trendy and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful.

Review 6:The room we were checked into was a'loft room" which meant the upstairs was only just large enough for the bed and basin. The downstairs was tiny..a toilet and a shower and a minuscule hallway...there was no room to move in either space and a treacherous staircase connected the 2 areas. Avoid this room at all costs!

Review 7:Very innovative restoration of a lovely old building. Breakfast superb and staff excellent

Review 8:We had the family room, sadly there was a high pitched peep coming from the bathroom that ruined our night's sleep. I'm sure this will be resolved for the next visitor as we informed the hotel staff after our stay.

Review 9:Great location, great breakfast, very friendly staff

Review 10:Location , design service. Do not like the two level loft. Especially when the stairs are steep. Bed upstairs. Bathroom downstairs. Need more lights in the room.

Review 11:Great location! Very friendly staff, really helpful whenever we asked for directions and taxi. Very comfortable bed. Super modern and clean bathroom. Definitely would stay again if returning to Middelburg

Review 12:Some expectations were not fulfilled: no desk although stated in room description; jacuzzi and sauna not working and no proactive communication about that; no response to complaint email

Review 13:Very spacious and extravagant rooms with loft character, good breakfast, close to the old city center

Review 14:The room was described as a Duplex Junior Suite and the price was quite high at 153 euros. We were extremely disappointed as it was the smallest room in the hotel as we were told by the owner (after checking in) and also the smallest room we have ever stayed in. The room has a loft bed and the steps up are very steep. No room downs stairs either - toilet (no hand basin) shower, one small plastic chair, no view and you need to go upstairs to the hand basin after using the toilet. A window in the roof upstairs so no view there either. We stayed in room 10 and would not recommend it to anyone especially elderly or any one with a mobility problem and certainly not anyone suffering from claustrophobia.

Review 15:Location, friendly staff

Review 16:Would prefer a buffet breakfast. On both mornings we had to explain we were vegetarians and the staff looked slightly put out.

Review 17:It is a nice hotel overall.

Review 18:The downstairs room with large windows facing directly onto the street felt a little exposed. This street is not very busy, but anyway. On the other hand, the large windows made the room very light. The breakfast room staff were not always attentive about refilling coffee. Boutique hotel = some impractical solutions; for instance: - The toilet and the basin are on different sides of the bed, so to wash hands after using the toilet one has to walk round the large bed. - There is no wardrobe, only a closet rod that extends over the sideboard, with the coffeemaker etc. This might be this room only though, since all the rooms are different.

Review 19:Good location centrally in Middelburg, opposite from Lange Jan and the Abdij. Large well appointed room, with a generous double bed, two easychairs and coffee table, and a large sideboard with storage. The room had a luxurious feel to it. Nice decor, unique, not the standard all white, or designer grey. Nice wooden floor, felt nice to your feet, in the hot wheather. Friendly, welcoming owners and staff. Excellent large, unique breakfast, that is served at the tablewith good bread, yoghurt, ham, etc, but what really stands out was the excellent dutch cheese.

Review 20:The quantity of the breakfast (excellent quality though).

Review 21:The location, the kindness and friendliness of the owner, the successful fusion of modern design and traditional architecture.

Review 22:Some of the more expensive rooms are actually completely two levels. Makes the room feel smaller rather than larger. This is not sufficiently clear in the room descriptions

Review 23:Staff, venue, location

Review 24:I don't find separate blankets comfortable, so I would rather have had a large blanket for two.

Review 25:I enjoyed very much the hotel atmosphere and decorations.

Review 26:Friendly & forthcoming staff. Great reception, excellent food.
