Reviews for Londonskaya Hotel

Review 1:Excellent location. All of iconic sights in two minutes' walking distance. Room with a view of Primorsky Boulevard and Black Sea. Wonderful design and decor.

Review 2:Disappointing when we arrived that we could not get a suite due to various problems We settled for a junior suite but unfortunately due to limitations with booking .com we could not get lower rate we were entitled tp

Review 3:It's an old building and needs some work to bring it up to date but staff are is class and location is superb Lot of history

Review 4:Our bathroom was flooded due too a burst pipe in the evening and we were moved too another room. The water was not back on in the hotel until 3pm the next day. Despite trying we got no joy out of the staff with trying too get some food or atleast bottled water. Very bad day and the staff were not experienced enough too handle the situation

Review 5:View and the room

Review 6:Having to leave; but I will return. Building is older but I think that gives it charm.

Review 7:Everything. The staff is very helpful and friendly and accomodating. Reception staff speak excellent English. Housekeepers are friendly. The location is great, within walking distance of most areas I needed. Just down the hill from the Opera House and up the hill from the seaport. The health club and pool are first rate. They are part of a rather elite health club that is superb. Red wine in the minibar was outstanding. Outstanding hotel value for the money as well.

Review 8:Access to the pool is not good, it's very far and you need someone to unlock doors for you. They should inform you of this upon check in or in the room information. The breakfast was overcrowded one day.

Review 9:Location, value, very accommodating staff, nice interior, spacious junior suite, overall good experience

Review 10:Water price for small 300ml bottle bar $2.

Review 11:Beautiful classic hotel. Great location, superb breakfast. The Concierge was the best I've ever seen on any hotel in the world. Rooms and bed very comfortable, bathroom superb.

Review 12:Breakfast for extra price, not so easy to finf power supply to charge in the room

Review 13:Central location, SPA zone, Comfort bad, good facilities, excellent price-service match

Review 14:the entire building is in high need of renovation. the staff needs more experience with foreign travelers.

Review 15:the building is just gorgeous! the location is excellent.

Review 16:Swimming pool located in another building often in the afternoon part of the pool closed for learners to swim. difficult access to the swimming pool.

Review 17:excellent location!

Review 18:The staff is attentive and interested in the guests.....the restaurant was most accommadating and very patient to english speaker.....good food and Great value

Review 19:pillows are very soft and low. Very big hotel, too much walk after elevator

Review 20:Very local and historical building (200 years old) Location is good. 10 minutes walk to the heart of the city Cosy Hotel

Review 21:Booked for two people but only one bath robe and only one bath towel and only one duvet on bed which didn't cover whole bed! I slept with the top cover and gave the duvet to my girlfriend. Shower in bath with curtain was ok but not great. Not powerful. Floor carpets in room a bit grubby and on way to spa view connecting tunnel.

Review 22:Great location on Primorsky boulevard near the famous port steps! Very comfortable bed, nice hotel lobby and stairs are very impressive as it's an old hotel. My room was good but not as good as others I have stayed in. The sound of a dog barking and two cats fighting behind the hotel woke me up on 2 of my three nights so far! Food in restaurant excellent. Staff very helpful but don't order hotel taxi as asked and got a quote of 140rph I phoned a local company and got it for 36! Lift goes to floor 3 so if your on the fourth floor you have to climb stairs. This wasnt an issue for me but if your elderly or impaired you need to check with hotel staff. Amazing pool and spa complex!!!!!

Review 23:Beds ar old and not comfortable, need to change. When we arrived they couldn't see our reservation and we've been told that we don't have any booking and they don't have any availbale room. After long conversation they accepted to give rooms but they did not accept the price which we booked on the site. Finaly I convinced them. But we had to wait long time to get our rooms.

Review 24:I like the location and the size of the rooms.

Review 25:Main problem: the staff won't really solve any problems unless you really insist. The soundproofing is bad. One day there was a wedding in the hotel and we couldn't sleep until midnight due to the very loud music (and our room was far away from the restaurant). Calling the reception, several times didn't help. The housekeeping was sloppy. The only thing they actually did every day was changing towels. They have a special card you need to put on the bed if you want the linens to be changed. Once we did so. Guess what? When we returned, the card was on the table, the bed was made, but the linens were the same. The breakfast was terrible. (some of the food simply looked old). Luckily it wasn't included in the room rate. So we ate our breakfast in the restaurants nearby for half the price (we really wanted to eat at the hotel - it would have been way more convenient). The windows in our room didn't close. The room was actually in need of renovation (large stains on the walls). The lightbulb in the bathroom has been changed only after we specifically asked for it (and the housekeeping has seen the problem for at least two days before that). Our car (parked according to the instructions of the reception staff in front of the hotel - they don't have a real parking, only a tiny yard with the capacity of maybe five cars) has been towed away. And the staff saw that and didn't even bother to call us. It took us forever to insist that the hotel staff finds our car (they didn't even know where it has been taken). The check out took forever (housekeeping was checking the room - they were probably afraid we took their precious towels). We didn't get the receipt for our stay - only for the minibar (we were so glad to be leaving finally, that we didn't check the documents - so, it's partially our fault).

Review 26:The location is great. The staff is very nice and friendly as long as everything goes according to plan. Beautiful historical building, it's almost like living in a museum.

Review 29:Cockroaches. On the bed, in the bathroom - and at one point on my face.Hotel didn't do anything.Breakfast is a sad state of affairs.

Review 30:The hotel was probably wonderful in the 18th century. Sadly, it has notbeen brought up to standards. The location of the property is excellentfor the cbd and local amenities.

Review 31:The woman who works at spa she was so rude. She works at spa reception and when she tells us to be quiet in that place the alerting action was so rude and she behaved us like a child...rest off staff was wonderful and helpful, friendly

Review 32:Guests can only use the swimming pool at limited hours and it is a big palaver to get there. Pillows too big, left me with backache.

Review 33:Old-fashioned charm, fading grandeur. Lovely, big swimming pool, great location

Review 34:No wi-fi in the room, service in the restaurant was not any 4 star hotel (or any star) service. Breakfast: warm orange juice brought on request, cheese kept in warm, bad bread etc. - for that price you can get a fresh breakfast in some cafeteria nearby. Room: old furniture, concrete balcony without any furniture. It was like a memory from the Soviet time. Dusty. Unpolite cleaning lady, There were two beds (no kingsize) and the bed was short.

Review 35:Location in the centre. The hotel decided (after request) to give refund because of several things I was not happy with. The bathroom was renovated. Airconditioning. Some reception staff members were friendly and polite.

Review 36:Wifi is rubbish by all means, the suite i stayed in lacks furniture , i found bugs walking on the carpet every day, the coffee machine is rusty & disgusting, mini bar was not maintained, no body check the rooms before they go to guest, the place is a ghost house living on the past history of the old property!! Like seriously nothing is working!! If you want to go to swimming pool, you walk forever then they stop you from swimming coz you have to have head cover!!!!! The final say: Dont even think about it, the hotel has no system what so ever ..

Review 37:The location is great

Review 38:Service varied at breakfast, depending on waiters on duty. Chair and table in room not suitable height for Laptop.

Review 39:Genteel atmosphere, large, elegant spaces, located in the best part of the city, near the Opera House and the Steps.

Review 40:big, highlighted pool, i think it's with sea water, beautiful spa center, has everything! Huge rooms, comfortable bed, wide windowsills, you can sit on it overlooking the city in the evening. Beautiful antique building, i was amazed all the time, extremely high ceiling. Good breakfast. Beautiful inner yard with fountain, that's where breakfast is served in summer.

Review 41:Horrible pillows, expensive, lack of toliet paper, late check in (2pm)

Review 42:Staff spoke english, elevator, good wifi, amazing location, bank machine right outside of hotel, late check out (12pm)

Review 43:Randomly determine taxi fares. At the very top of the normal wage charge me for the airport said. I went with 70 grivna. 440 grivna they said.

Review 44:The staff is very helpful. I would also especially like to thank Anastasia.

Review 45:I have seen some bugs & instects in the room that I asked the front desk about if they are aware of it, she was telling me that they come from Black Sea , and can't do much about it. That's was the only discomfort I've felt while I was staying in Londonska hotel.

Review 46:Location very central , bed is very confortable

Review 47:Dark entrance and corridors. No one met at airport upon my arrival despite agreement. The recepton said they will investigate what happened and give me an explanation. No one from the whole staff talked to me for the rest of the week. I will not return here.

Review 48:Superb location by the park. Fantastic old building.

Review 49:The rooms are great but start to show some small signs of wear and tear.

Review 50:The building itself is fantastic, the location is perfect for central Odessa and staff was generally speaking competent. The gym/spa is truly amazing.

Review 51:I still don't like having to have a porter take to you the gym/spa area, the bed wasn't that good, and breakfast isn't that much, with no labels

Review 52:The transfers to and from the airport were perfect, the staff were super friendly, it's a great location, meals are great

Review 53:The staff has a terrible attitude ... They speak only when spoken to, and really don't understand the concept of customer service.

Review 54:The location is unmatched. This part of Odessa ranks with any part of any city I've visited.

Review 55:Happy with everything

Review 56:The Londonskaya is in itself one of Odessa's tourist attractions. It is as amazing inside as outside. Very classy and stylish place. Pleasant indoor area to relax. You can see a tree near where Pushkin wrote. Young and friendly staff

Review 57:Very helpful friendly staff(helped with early check-in, luggage, spoke Ukrainian, guided to swimming pool) Awesome location and building(200yo!). Swimming pool was very nice.

Review 58:The staff were really good and helpful.Tanya,Gale,Tatiane and Dima such beautiful people. r....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................a.............te and helpful,Tanya,Gale,Tatiane and Dima

Review 59:nothing wrong, breakfast could be improved tanking into account that it cost about 1 week local people's salary, but still acceptable level

Review 60:location is excellent, staff kind, everything was near to perfect, this hotel has an unique decoration. only the photo of the marechal who stayed in same room disturbed me a little, next time I"ll ask of a woman ballet dancer photo :)

Review 61:The wi-fi was disappointing as it didn't work in my room. The breakfast was good on my final two days as it was laid out in a buffet style as opposed to selected from a menu

Review 62:Wonderful location, splendid decor, very helpful English-speaking staff, fantastic swimming pool

Review 63:Dull breakfast and not value for money; lack of a lively bar but plenty in the neighbourhood

Review 64:Comfortable room, good bathroom and friendly, obliging staff - top location

Review 65:Its a shame to keep such a gem in such poor condition - it doesn't shine anymore as it should - corridors half dark, destroyed couches in the lobby, old dirty carpets, old bathroom tiles. I regretted for staying there - it was much better to see it from outside and imagine its in good shape. another shame - breakfast served in the lobby at the price of 200UAH and lunch there at the price of 100UAH. There are nice places outside to have breakfast at UAH 100. Its a very strange hotel policy.

Review 66:hotel has very long history and a number of famous people lived there, its mentioned in many works etc/ Its nice u can read the info on who stayed in which room and their memoirs near the rooms its very centrally located - right on the seaside promenade and near Potemkin stairs and opera

Review 67:Honestly, 3 days in that hotel was a great disappointment of the year!! One of the main criteria of choosing the hotel was the spa and pool area. We booked the hotel well in advance. At the moment of our arrival unsmiling girl on the reception said that the pool and spa area is not working. It was really strange that nobody wanted to inform us about that great decision. It was sad. But this is not the end of the story. We chose the category of room of Superior Double. For choosing of accommodation we have focused on its size. The description has said - size: 21 square meters. But we’ve got a room #214 where we couldn’t fit our travel bags (not suitcases !!!!). The square of the room was max 16 m. And again the same unsmiling girl at the reception said that we had to be happy to stay in that small room. I still don’t understand if it was joke of Odessa or it’s a style of the hotel Londonskaya! My advise for others – don’t trust the promises of the description.

Review 68:The location. Only!

Review 69:You have to call them every time you would like to go to a pool (so that they open the door with a special card). Doesn't it make more sense to install an RFC reader that will read the visitors cards so that you can just go there w/o waiting for a concierge? :)

Review 70:Superb interior and atmosphere.

Review 71:Nothing I did not like, but missed the breakfast buffet. Hopefully more guests will make this possible another time. However, the hotel should rebuild the heating system so that it is possible to turn down the radiators in each room - there is a massive waste of energy when you have to keep windows open in order to cool down the room!!

Review 72:No noise, great swimming pool and very good food in the hotel bar/restaurant.

Review 73:The fitness center is linked to the hotel by bridge. It's also open for the public as it operates also as privet fitness center. Every time you want to get to the fitness center and go back to hotel you need an escort...and you need to wait for the escort to arrive! The hotel don't give you key to open the door connected to the fitness center. This is very annoying!!! Every visit at the fitness center you need to registrate at the recption!!! My feeling was that hotel's guests are not so welcome! I don't think that this is the right hotel if you are looking for hotel with fitness center.

Review 74:The hotel located in the center close to mant tourists atraction. The fitness center is modern with big gym, swimming pool and spa.

Review 75:>Room ok, somewhat spartan. >Lobby was cold as was cafe. >Staff cold as was cafe staff. >No joy at all in staff. often badmouthed management. >felt like staying in drafty cold old castle with minimal lights on to warm up the sense of foreboding. >my stay was for location and lobby use to meet. >would probably chose other for more upbeat place next trip

Review 76:>Cafe good food, not great. >Location. >Value

Review 77:Carpets in the room should be replaced with hard floor coverings. Temperature regulation of radiators not possible!! Had to open window to regulate... Humming sound nights from machines/laundry area? No breakfast buffet several days because of few guests..

Review 78:The location is very good, the swimming hall excellent, and there is no traffic. Most of the staff is very friendly.

Review 79:some waiters in the restaurant had poor or no understanding of English, and I had to wait over an hour for a meal order that never came!... finally another waiter recognized the mistake of his collegue and I got a complimentary beer for that...

Review 80:very quiet, peaceful, efficient reception staff, cosy rooms, a timeless atmosphere of the 18th or 19th century. Excellent location facing the harbour, next to the famous Potemkine stairway, with plenty of restaurants around, and a supermarket nearby.

Review 81:scruffy carpets & bathroom overdue an update.

Review 82:proximity to Independence Square, the Maidan; shops under the Square, the Budha Bar, restaurants, opening windows, working wifi, space in the room.

Review 83:Great staff and a good experience absolutely no complaints and always a welcome greeting. , The locations is perfect, rooms are precious and very clean, the bed is big and very comforting. fantastic WiFi worked without any issues , especially the low prices ,

Review 84:Between 5-8:00 p.m. you are not allowed to use the pool and gym. Some employees speak little or no English. Hotel is old and carpet in room was very old and smelled stuffy when the room did not have the window open.

Review 85:GYM had NEW LifeFitness and Hammer Strength equipment and an indoor heated swimming pool and wet and dry sauna. Room had a refrigerator for personal use.

Review 86:I would not stay there again myself as I had to on numerous occasions have to phone reception between 11:00pm and 5:30am to tell them to stop "power hose" cleaning the courtyard where their precious breakfast is served as it keeps me up at night and wakes me up in the morning. The answer I got was this is the only time housekeeping can do it!!...you have to be joking !!!..They offered to move me to another room but halfway into my stay I do not want to move my belongings. What got my "back up" was on checking out I was informed of the "city tax" of 74 hryvania...I had just changed money for a taxi to the airport and was now forced to get to a change bureau for more. Plus you can get a taxi to the airport for $10 no problem and reception will get you one gladly..but on airport arrival it will cost you $40!!!..because their management will only use this one service .....where he makes his money!!!

Review 87:Yes the location in very convenient

Review 88:- relatively shabby rooms - noisy ac - no window blinders or thick curtains - the prices in the spa and in the bill were different

Review 89:The staff were super friendly, the hotel is super cool in public areas (lobby, stairs, corridors and spa) but could be better inside the rooms. Located in the very downtown of Odessa. Super awesome Roman-like SPA.

Review 90:Some hotel employees are not very welcoming. Only the superior rooms have a breathtaking decoration - avoid the economy ones (the windows have been opalised). Use of the pool is only possible at specific hours and the access is not that obvious.

Review 91:Excellent situation - 100m from the stairs. 3mn walk from the city center. Historical place where Maiakovski and Mastroianni stayed. Very nice decoration in some parts of the hotel. Nice spa accessible from the hotel.

Review 92:none

Review 93:Staff was fluent in English and helped everywhere they could, espailly Inna from the reception. Facilities are splendid and the hotel is just fenomenal beautiful. Price was good and teh city of Odessa made the whole experience excellent.

Review 94:Slow wifi. Breakfast needs improvement. Flies & Mosquitos in room.

Review 95:Location Is perfect. Many Staff friendly and go out of their way to assist you. Strong AC. Incredible building ambience and architecture, etc.

Review 96:A lack of kettle in the room, no access to the fridge. Only tv channels in Russian and Ukrainian .

Review 97:At the discount price I got- high quality. Wi-Fi not stable and average but managable. Excellent location. Spacious room.

Review 98:The long walk to our room. next time we visit we will make sure we are on a lower floor.

Review 99:Everything is what I expected based on my reading of what was on the internet. I look for hotels which offer value for money and yours is excellent in that respect.

Review 101:Staff is good. Good wifi and satellite TV(Only Ukrainian program ).

Review 103:This is a beautiful old hotel with lovely architecture and comfortable quiet rooms. The staff were exceptional and very helpful when ever I asked for or about something. I will be staying there again for sure in the near future. The facilities for relaxing are great with a beautiful full size swimming pool, gym and sauna. In other words I loved staying there. Anthony Powell , New Zealand.

Review 104:Old hotel with "soul". Staying there, you feel history. Perfect standard and excellent swimming pool and two kind of saunas iside the building. We`ve got it for free :)

Review 105:Waterpressure was a joke, had to flush 2-3 times and had to stand under shower and then still not much water. Most important, this was cheap hotel with bad hard bed. That combined with stale smell that only use of AC removed. Simply put needs renovation so not find cockroaches, bcz found other things.

Review 106:Included in price was access to nearby swimmingpool and saunas. Bathtub in room was nice too. Entrance to hotel was renovated.

Review 107:Very helpful staff! Wonderful decor and history. Well done

Review 108:small room, rooms not in like pictures, expensive for the room

Review 109:location is nice

Review 110:No coffee maker, no double bed cover available

Review 111:Location

Review 112:they will do all they can to make you happy

Review 113:Overprised breakfast in the city where so many cheaper cafes around

Review 114:One of the best location in the city

Review 115:NO AMENITIES LIKE TOOTH BRUSH ETC..ALSO CURTAINS WERE NOT WORKING. I HAD TO PULL THEM DOWN

Review 116:Room complicated to find

Review 117:Historical building

Review 118:The man at the door recommended us a bad restaurant called Sherlock. It's not worth and it's not Ukrainian.

Review 119:The location.

Review 120:Stuff help

Review 121:Broken window shades in quite an expensive room, too few electric sockets

Review 122:Room size, location, WiFi, bed

Review 123:Especially receptionist Vera and Tatiana thank you very much for very friendly and warm hospitality. Next time hope to see you again next time

Review 124:great location ,good staff/ good work out room/fitness gym

Review 125:Breakfast could have been better and some of restaurant staff struggled with any English

Review 126:Reception and concierge staff very helpful and welcoming.

Review 127:The room was a bit dated and tired.

Review 128:Location. Historic building. Access to the fitness centre is a really good reason to stay at this hotel

Review 129:Nothing

Review 130:Location...staff

Review 131:Staff very good and spoke English, excellent service

Review 132:The wifi I was not as good as I hoped part of Ukraine and part of hotel
