Reviews for Tsentralnaya Hotel
Review 1:There is no elevator so you you have to go up some wide steps and a long hallway depend on your room location. There was one male receptionist that was a little "Grumpy. The female receptionist were friendly overall. The internet is not in the rooms only in the halls.
Review 2:It's very close to the mall, Opera house and the Black Sea. The room I was in had a balcony. The breakfast was not bad.
Review 3:First they gave me a room where the shower did not work. Then they claimed I shall wait till next morning (it was midnight), because they did not have another room. When I announced to leave the hotel and asked for my money back, they - miracle - found another room. There, the refrigerator did not work. The shower did, but no ventilation and no window in the bathroom - it was very very stinky and noxious.
Review 4:not so much.
Review 5:Need to improve air ventilation in rooms when the temperature outside is very high. Maybe some refresh in the room.
Review 6:The location is great! It is a good choice for several nights in the heart of Odessa. The staff in hotel is helpful. Breakfast is tasty and free of charge!
Review 7:The room that I booked through Booking.com was not available upon my arrival, although I did call numerous times to Booking and to the hotel and it was ensured that the room will be available. The only room that was offered was without Air Conditioner, even though the temperature outside was close to +40C and on the website it was specified that there was an AC. Despite this fact, I was initially denied any discount. After holding me for almost an hour at the reception, I was initially offered a 5% discount and only after a 10%. When I asked for someone to help me carry my luggage to the third floor as I had foot injury, my request was denied. Although furniture was new in the room, bedding was old and stained. Bathroom and shower were not clean. Towels were old and stained. There was no hair blow dryer, even though it is on the website. Windows were old and to access balcony, one had to climb out of the window. Balcony flooring was unsafe. The were only two plugs - one for TV (which wasn't working) and a fridge. Ceiling paint was falling down....Breakfast was very poor and the breakfast room was dirty. Cocoroaches is the common bathroom.Although reps at the reception are very nice, they do not know and are not empowered how to deal with difficult cases. Hotel director did call back after I left a review in theit Customer Service book.
Review 8:Location was great. Right near Deribassovska street and close enough to Potemkin stairs.
Review 9:Many things: -the hotel is not well clean and dusty -the room has no air conditioner and the staff refused to change the room although told that the weather was hot in the room and uncomfortable -many insects seen in the room including cockroaches -in the room the furniture was dirty
Review 10:The site of hotel is near to services and in center of the city The size of the room is good
Review 11:For winter, the hotel was chilly. The room needed an electric heater, but hotel rules prohibited keeping it on when I left the room. The Internet service was very poor. Sometimes it was available in the lobby or the hall, but even then finding an electric outlet was a problem.
Review 12:The location is excellent, right in the middle of the restaurant district, and in walking distance to all the main attractions in the old city. The building is a historic old hotel from the mid 19th century with a grand central stairway, and broad halls. It is easy to imagine the ladies in their hoop skirts walking about! Free Ukrainian style breakfast, which included meat and eggs.
Review 13:- Shower leaked to my room - Old interior is not kept well, could be classy with some input
Review 14:- Breakfast was okay - I liked the historical feeling - Quite affordable
Review 15:Breakfast rather modest. But you can get fried eggs/omelette according to your own wish.
Review 16:Classical style with excellent atmosphere, incomparable. Choose the suite.
Review 17:Room is small and without aircon Furniture is very old Breakfast was awful wifi doesnt work properly in the room
Review 18:Location is perfect, near Deribasovskaya str Cheap price Antient hall and stairs
Review 19:Hotel is old and historic, staff is efficient and location is central with a good value.
Review 20:Helpfull staff, excellent location
Review 21:Excellent central location and good value.
Review 22:Time of year meant heating not yet on so a little chilli
Review 23:Location, staff, cleanliness
Review 24:breakfast wasn't good
Review 25:No possibility to Resümee Ehe temparTur
Review 26:Nothing!
Review 27:The quietness, space and comfort of my room, and of the hotel as a whole, the helpfulness of the reecption staff, including the IT expert.
Review 28:Small room, only tv in Ucranian or Russian
Review 29:Excelent location
Review 30:personal access
Review 31:Break fast was extremely poor for the price I paid. It had not so much choice at all. I had booked a double room with large bed, I got that. But with reduced offer price; I actually had booked for 2 people but they booked it only for me. And when I asked they said that I had to pay for the other person; Unbelieveable isn't that? On ur booking it said free parking but thje hotel wanted to pay when I needed the free parking for my potential partener; unbelieveable isn't that...? I stayed from 10.4.14 till 16.4.14. hardly there was Wi-Fi for 2 days with extremely weak signals available, most of the time no wi fi, tv reception extremely bad, I had no tv picture for comlete 1 day. One night I had to stay without electricity at all. After mid night there won't be any water to flush drink or bath. Climbing stairs with heavy luggage was not comfortable at all with back pain severe disability. I stayed in Hotel Yunist for one night. Was cheaper (with wonderfully great choice of breakfast) than the tsentralayan Hotel ( I was told by my Architect Friend in Odessa that Tsentralayana is almost the first built hotel in Odessa, i.e. extremely old and expensive and full of problems HOTEL..! I had booked Palais Royal in Odessa when I was in Kiev but then I was sent the address of Tsentralayana. And you wanted to charge me for not showing in Palais Royal, how can I appear in two places at same time and then want to charge me penalty because I have one body and I can be at one place at one time..! Should I promote you..?
Review 32:The only thing I liked was staff, especially the reception staff, and kitchen staff.
Review 33:Breakfast was good but could be better. I would like to see more options on the breakfast table such as fresh fruit and juice and real coffee.
Review 34:Excellent place to stay in the centre of Odessa. Nice breakfast.
Review 35:Very old 3-floor building, 'soviet' style in design, no lifts.Budget rooms have no bathroom and toilets, it's one shared bathroomon the floor and the hairdryer is also absent in the room. Wi-fi isavailable only on the 1st floor, near receptionist.
Review 36:Perfect location, if you want to spend some time discoveringOdessa's downtown area. Friendly personal, nice service for such lowprice. Deribassovskaya is very close, but an area is a pretty silent. The building is old, I guess it was build before Russian revolution. There are a lot of old mirrors, and old stuff like that. Clean rooms, new furniture, good view of old patio of Odessa from the window. Prettynice breakfast is included even in budget price.
Review 37:The room on the third floor was very hot. Had to open window, and there were a lot of mosquitos. All it would of taken for comfort would of been a fan, to move the air around. Also the breakfast was just so so. I thought over all it was way over priced for what it was.
Review 38:The hotel staff were very friendly, and the location was very good.
Review 39:Some staffs were not so polite. Also, security seemed not so tight. But it was O.K. overall.
Review 40:The hotel is close to city centre, and located in beautiful quarter. Staffs spoke English and French. Breakfast was wonderful (Ukrainian style). Room and shared bathroom were clean and spatious.
Review 41:Breakfast starts at 7:30 - a bit late for active travellers
Review 42:Location, friendliness at the reception, readiness to assist with information on city, transportation, etc. Rooms are clean although decorated in an old, Soviet style
Review 43:Breakfasts are rather poor
Review 44:We had LUX-room. It has 2 sleeping rooms and living-room. Bath is inside the room (be careful - all other rooms have WC outside). Very center position in the city - you can come and have a rest during the day.
Review 45:Problems with electricity (was real black out for around 3 hours). Alsoimpossible to take a bath because the plug has the wrong size. Verynoisy neighbours.
Review 46:Really budget friendly hotel in the center fo the Odessa.
Review 47:The only thing is if you take the economy room it's a fair walk tothe WC/shower.
Review 48:If you want to impress someone this may not be the hotel for you. If youwant to be comfy and warm at a great value in the centre of Odessa thisplace is for you. It gives you the feel of an old Soviet style hotel. The rooms are super clean even though it's a very old building. Abrand new comfortable matress turns that old Soviet style bed intosomething warm and comfortable for a great nights sleep. The rooms arewarm, maybe a little too warm but you can always open a window. Theincluded breakfast was great for a goo start of the day and they willeven make an omlette for you (other options are available). Some peoplehave said this hotel reminds them of The Overlook Hotel in StephenKing's novel The Shining. Come see for yourself)
Review 49:Breakfast may be quite average for most of the tourists.
Review 50:The hotel has an excellent location, being very closed to all the city's main attractions. The potemkin stairs are only 10 minutes away, while the railway station is a 20-25 minutes foot walk. The hotel seems to have had better days in the past, but it still keeps its old charm. Rooms are quite small, but very clean. My room didn't have its own bathroom, but the shared bathroom was very clean and with hot water on the shower. Arkadia beach is easy reachable: from the train station, there is tram no. 5 which has the final stop at the beach.
Review 51:The hotel can easily found on the main street. We felt safe even when we walked back hotel from the beautiful opera house at night. Supermarket and restaurants are in the neighbourhood. Hotel staff were very helpful. Will recommend to friends.
Review 52:I apologize for troubles causing to you. I would like to get back in the future. I thank you for your impatience with me raegarding my money problem. Thank you much Yours sincerely Petr Janik
Review 53:We have unlucky met tactless receptionist. This was also experiencefrom old times ;-). Breakfast is moderate. Shared bathroom was goodenough, but I don´t understand why only one shower was built in a sucha huge room.
Review 54:Old times atmosphere likewise in a castle. Traveling in time ;-). Hotelis quiet, clean and still in well condition. Perfect location.
Review 55:My room was going into a backyard which was not very attractive.
Review 56:As the name says, this is a centrally located hotel in Odessa, 5 min away from Deribasovskaya and 10 min from the Potemkin stairs. The room I had (including bath) was large and clean with TV, ventilator, and fridge. Warm water in the shower, drinking water and fresh towels every morning. Personal at the entrance was friendly and their English was good.
Review 57:The room had no air conditioning, old furniture. The room had ants and cockroaches. The window looked out on the wall. Bad atmosphere. Very similar to a hospital. This hotel is a maximum of one star. Quite expensive for such a service.
Review 58:Excellent location. Friendly staff.
Review 59:The backyard is awful. For many rooms this is the only view and you will only see a facade which needs urgent help together with idle building mechanisms once intentioned to facelift this side of the hotel.
Review 60:The hotel is very spatious with high ceilings. Nicely decorated room interior. The building itself is an interesting mixture of aristocracy style with soviet traces such as surface cabling or tubing. Average buffet breakfast. The personel helped with luggage, with navigating, calling taxi or next hotel booking, printing e-mail. Very helpful.
Review 61:If you like modern hotels then this hotel is not for you.But if youstaying in a hotel with a sense of history then you will enjoystaying here.
Review 62:The Tsentralny Hotel appears to be quite an old hotel with a lot oforiginal features from the former soviet era-high ceilings, marblestaircases & fantastic chandeliers. The hotel has a real ambience aboutit. The hotel rooms are of a good proportion with tv & fridge. The hotelis situated in a busy but nice location with a very impressive churchjust across the road. There are also a number of restauraunts & parkswithin a 5 minute walk. The staff were also very friendly & made my staymost enjoyable.Overall good value for money.
Review 63:The staff was not very friendly or very helpful. For example, the deskclerk refused to call the bus station to check the schedule. She said Ishould do that myself. So I asked her to get me the number, and she saidshe didn't know how to get the number. The hotel also was generallyuncomfortable. The mattress was lumpy and too soft. The breakfast wasunremarkable. A depressing place to stay, really.
Review 64:The location.
Review 65:Breakfast is poor and is the same day by day. Some furniture is old andlooks almost broken, as well as wooden windows. They took the amount ofone day cost from my card one month before arrival, although I paid forthe room without deposit! This is information for booking.com - thishotel doesn't follow their promises!
Review 66:Location is very good, right in the heart of the city. Design ismonumental with a mixture of soviet and old style. Two rooms suite isbig. Staff is kind and friendly.
Review 67:It is very old, the room is not comfortable, there is no condition,no elevator, bathroom is not nice. Breakfast is awful, I was afraidto eat it.
Review 68:Only location, nothing more is satisfying there.
Review 69:The corridors remind one of the worst Soviet era 'recreationfacilities', half cheap hospital, half haunted slum ))
Review 70:It's comparatively cheap, located close to the city centre and the staffis very friendly. And I particularly liked the ceilings in the rooms.
Review 71:Old "soviet" style room&bathroom. Poor-poor breakfast.
Review 72:Location is great, really 5 min walk from Deribassovskaya street. TheRoom was clean and prepared.
Review 73:The shared toilet on my floor was marked with 0 0 . would have beeneasier to find if the word toilet was written on the door. I found thesame problem with the shared shower room.
Review 74:Reception staff were very helpful language barrier was overcome and theywere able to understand me.
Review 75:Good location, simple but comfortable room. Helpful staff.
Review 76:Raised price
Review 77:classy
Review 78:Poor breakfast, no air conditioners
Review 79:Lack of a bar in the hotel
Review 80:Përfect location in the very centre of the city.
Review 81:The breakfast is very poor. The amtmosfere is austere.
Review 82:The hotel itself it's a nice and interesting building near the center.
Review 83:1-2 towel, no change for 2 days cleaning, dark in the hall all the time
Review 84:location
Review 85:Simple but nice and clean old style hotel.
Review 86:in the room there is no safety Deposit box. room in need of repair. not tasty breakfasts
Review 87:Location, friendly staff
Review 88:Bathroom usually in use so you wait so much
Review 89:close to Dribasovskaya street
Review 90:Staff was excellent and very helpful... Breakfast is very good. Rooms are old but clean and warm
