Reviews for B&B de Kaepstander
Review 1:No bad experiences. In general, guests should expect an old, quaint Dutch house.
Review 2:Great location in central part of town for a reasonable price. Comfortable room in a traditional old, quaint Dutch house.
Review 3:It is very difficult to have large pieces of luggage in your room or going upstairs. Not recommended for seniors!! This is only because of the heritage of the building.
Review 4:We truly enjoyed the history of the building and the way the space in the room was used. The proximity to the town square was perfect. Many conveniences.
Review 5:the small, winding, dangerous staircase to my room nr. 7 on the top floor. Bath room door was often stuck (was to big for the frame). - No soap by the bedroom sink. The parking is free until 8 a.m., but breakfast is served from 9-10. This means that I would have to pay 2-3 euro to enjoy it, so I left.
Review 6:bed/matras was good
Review 7:being in our 60.s found the staircase a little difficult but mastered it after a few days. toilet door handle fell off. beds could have been more comfortable but were very clean.
Review 8:location, excellent breakfast, very friendly hosts, could have stayed longer
Review 9:Did not respond to request via booking.com for instructions on parking; no sign at property instructing visitors to go next door to pub to pick up key; no soap in room; balcony accessible to adjoining room. Lastly: room key with number that could be interpreted as six or nine sent me on wild goose chase.
Review 10:Good location, old building with historical feel. Good value for the money.
Review 11:wifi wasn't working in our room (8) churchbells every hour of the night small bed, small cushio, low ceiling, not for large people!
Review 12:the location and the atmosfere next to nice bar with excellent beers
Review 13:Unclear where to check in as there was nobody at the hotel. Check in was at the adjacent pub. Bicycles stored in the hallway but not securely locked away.
Review 14:Fantastic location underneath the Large Jan. Right in the center of town.
Review 15:10 rooms with only 1 shower and 1 toilet to share. Stairs were challenging!
Review 16:Location. Great to have coffee and tea making facilities available
Review 17:Staircase was difficult with suitcases but we were aware of that.
Review 18:Central location, friendly helpful staff, value, breakfast, history.
Review 19:Friendly staff with good restaurant attached. Be prepared for a steep climb up the stairs.
Review 20:Alles was goed verzorgd! Ik kan ook niets bedenken.

Review 27:Very nice coffee for breakfast! Overall good value for money!
Review 28:old style house
Review 29:Breakfast from 9 pm onwards? incomprehensible
Review 30:athmosphere, clean, cosy, restaurant at the corner, freedom
Review 31:I adore spiral staircases, though a little more effort with heavy luggage.
Review 32:The view of the Church and sound of the chimes out our window. Breakfast was delicious with excellent coffee. The location is outstanding (10 minute walk to the train station, boutique shops next door, and lively Market square up the street). The remote controllable beds were very comfortable.
Review 33:Be prepared for a very steep and narrow staircase - better don't bring big luggage. Free parking is a bit far from the place (1km).
Review 34:Great location, nice house, very friendly people, very good coffee in the morning, nice hot shower (1 floor above my room). Good value for the money.
Review 35:Everything was very wonderfull. Doet was very nice. And if you decide to stay there, you have to rent the Bikes to drive arround. That was the best for us!
Review 36:The Lange Jan's bells kept us awake for a bit (sounding every half hour) but that's what you get when you're spot-on in the city centre.
Review 37:Location is great, and jazzcafe Desafinado (to which the B&B belongs) an ideal spot for a quiet late-evening drink. Very charming building.
Review 38:Very steep stairs up to the top floor. Not a problem for us, but good to bear in mind.
Review 39:Good value, good location, lovely charming building
Review 40:Facilities like radio, tv, alarm clock were not present in the room
Review 41:Nice old building, in the city center. Room was well kept, though small.
Review 42:OK for a 1- or 2-day trip, but tiny rooms could be a bit uncomfortable for longer stays.
Review 43:Charming building and its surrounding, very nice staff.
The Fine Print
Please note that there is no lift in the building. The rooms are accessible by a spiral staircase from the 17th century and therefore might not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
