Review 2:Very hospitable and helpful staff. Good and quiet location in pittoresque street. Parking around the corner (paid). Nice breakfast, nice and clean room, good beds. Highly recommended!
Review 3:I can't tell you how wonderful of place this B&B is. The owners are absolutely welcoming and incredible hosts that are available all the time to assist and greet! The breakfast is delicious and it's a great atmosphere all around. I certainly hope to be back again and can't say enough about my accommodation during my 5 night stay in Middelburg!
Review 4:All was great, no issues.
Review 5:Bed was cozy, room was clean, breakfast yummy and location was great. The proprietor was friendly, helpful and nice. I would stay there again.
Review 6:Could not find a single thing to point out that conflicted with my expectations
Review 7:Delighted to be welcomen by a friendly host - It almost felt like you where visiting an old friend.
Review 8:This B&B was fantastic from start to finish! Simon, one of the owners, was lovely. He was present and available but not overbearing in the least. It is clear that he and his partner have thought so carefully about all aspects of their B&B and care deeply about the experience of their guest. The decor was elegant and tasteful with a great mix of modern and more traditional elements that go with the era of the home. And the breakfast was perfect! If we come back to Middelburg, which is also fantastic, we would clamor to stay at B&B t'Poorthuys. We hope that you're lucky enough to stay here!
Review 9:Leaving
Review 10:Excellent hotel with large comfortable rooms that are very tastefull. The owners make you feel very welcome and are most helpful. The hotel is well located in a charming area and is only a few minutes walk into the centre of Middleburg. I have stayed in Middleburg on serval occasions and this accommodation is by far I have stayed in - Highly Reccommended
Review 11:There is nothing to not like about this b & b!!!
Review 12:Simon and Pieter, the owners, are incredibly hospitable. They carriedour luggage up and down the stairs to our rooms. Their b & b isbeautiful and very comfortable. The breakfast was the best we receivedin three b & Bs or hotels, and they were very good at each place. This b & b had two dining rooms, so it was possible for our group toeat together without mingling with the other guests who also seemedquite cohesive in the adjoining dining room. We wanted to walk aroundMiddleburg before we caught the train, and the hosts offered to deliverour luggage to the station. We called them when we got to the station, and they delivered our luggage within a few minutes.
Review 13:Nothing!
Review 14:This hotel is extremely clean and wonderful! Our room was spacious with a nice bathroom and huge bed. Breakfast was delicious and the two men who own the place are very attentive to every need. My family has visited several times and is never disappointed!
Review 15:Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The entire hotel was artistically decorated. The breakfast was fabulous! All of the ingredients were local, fresh and delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer!
Review 16:Few places can equal the high standard of accommodation provided by B&B 't Poorthuys. Our beautifully appointed spacious room provided an excellent base to explore this delightful city. Service with a friendly smile and helpful advice ensured that this is now one of our favourite places to stay and one to which we will return. Highly recommended.
Review 17:'t Poorthuys is a fantastic place to stay. The house is great and Simon, the host, is very helpful and pleasant. There is secure cycle storage. I would strongly recommend this B&B to anyone who wishes to stay in the area.
Review 18:Biggest and most comfortable bed ever. The courtyard was a great place to relax and have a beer or wine (the place is licenced and very good pricing) Hosts were wonderful and give us great information on where to go and tips on where the non touristy parts to see of Middelburg are.
Review 19:Simon and Pieter are wonderful hosts. The building is 450+ years old and wonderfully renovated. Parking on the square nearby was easy. Breakfast delicious.
Review 20:Try not to park your car underneath trees. Dutch birdies have no manners !!!
Review 21:Loved the building, loved the location, loved Pete and Simon, loved the bedroom and the breakfast- What else do you need
Review 22:The top stairs is a bit steep - not for the elderly or small kids
Review 23:Spotless, very tastefully decorated. Host the perfect mix of warm and respecting privacy. Beautiful house and garden, excellent breakfast.
Review 24:Step staircase and the combination of soft lighting and black paintwork in the bedroom (it made the room dark). Having to connect to the wifi via the internet and an acceptance certificate every time we switched on because it doesn't like non-apple products.
Review 25:Fantastic service of hosts; nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel at home. Breakfast was fantastic and they were accommodating of the fact my wife does not eat gluten, dairy or yeast. The location was convenient, historic, and quiet. The property was a beautifully restored listed building (like all the others in the street) and the dining room was a striking feature of the property. Although parking was not free it was only €5 for 24 hours.
Review 26:This was our second stay at the b&b, and it was wonderful to return. The hosts put their guests's needs first, ensuring their comfort and contentment. The rooms are decorated and equipped to a very high standard, and the breakfast is superb.
Review 27:Very friendly and very helpful host. Large and well-equipped room. Very good breakfast. Very convenient location within easy walking distance of the city centre.
Review 28:* Charming host Simon, he's attentive and considerate - fluent in English and Dutch (and maybe other languages!) * Excellent facilities - great water pressure in the shower, super clean rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, lots of light in the room * Delicious breakfast - farm fresh yogurt!
Review 29:There was nothing to moan about, except that you need to be able negotiate v steep stairs to rooms but this didn't affect our stay as we could!
Review 30:The peaceful location, the helpfulness of the owners, the delicious breakfast, the decor. Absolutely everything !!!!
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:Elegant house in a quiet but close to centre location. We borrowed two bikes for free and we were having lunch within lovely Veere within 30 minutes. Breakfast was very well presented and we enjoyed chatting to the other guests at the communal breakfast table. We will be back when we next come to Zeeland.
Review 33:We only stayed for two nights and would have loved to stay longer.
Review 34:The house has been beautifully renovated and the room we stayed in was extremely comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners of the property who are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Review 35:We had hoped for a proper double bed, but like many places, it was 2 singles made up as a double. But this is just a minor negative.
Review 36:Location is good - a few minutes walk from the main centre. Rooms were beautifully decorated. We had "Den Haag" which is on the first floor at the front of the building. We thought it might be noisy, but was very quiet. Very spacious room with additional seating. Good blackout curtains & heating that you could adjust yourself. Breakfast was excellent with service from Simon to match. Complimentary water in the room & Nespresso machine. Wi-fi signal was excellent. Bathroom was immaculate. And finally - Jimmy! Such an adorable cat & very well behaved
Review 37:Nothing.
Review 38:We liked everything about t' Poorthuys, its location (central but quiet), its style, the attention to detail. Very comfortable and Middelburg is a gem. Simon was very welcoming and helpful.
Review 39:The owners are very helpful and friendly, the room was lovely, breakfast was substantial and delicious, and the location is perfect - just around the corner from the town square and museum. We had a delightful stay.
Review 40:The host was very helpful and pleasant natured. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable with a great shower. The breakfast outside in the garden on the astroturf was amazing! A great place to stay. Although no parking, the host sorts out nearby parking at a very reduced price.
Review 41:- Orlando room: only one window opens a little bit, so very warm room when hot outside (but there is a fan) - only positives otherwise.
Review 42:- beautiful house in 17-18th century area - very friendly hosts - terrace at rear of house (breakfast) - lovely breakfast - fabulous (bath)room - stylish decoration/interior design features - location - good value for money
Review 43:Nothing - it was all great!
Review 44:This is an absolutely lovely B&B. The host were wonderful - welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was very stylish and comfortable. Having breakfast on the beautiful patio was very enjoyable; we also used the patio to relax after a long day of sightseeing (and Jimmy the cat kept us company!). This is THE place to stay if you are in Middleburg.
Review 45:There are parking facilities (cheap or free) nearby but this is not very clear on their website. Although The owner helped us very quick and clearly about these.
Review 46:Location (not in plain center - more quit but city center still very easily accessible 5 min walk) Splendid rooms Perfect wireless coverage Very friendly and correct owners Excellent breakfast No real downsides

Review 50:very tastefully decorated relaxed atmosphere
Review 51:Everything about this B&B is top quality, first class. They have created the perfect place to stay during your visit to Middelburg.
Review 52:Exquisite! However, no face cloths in bathroom. WiFi spotty upstairs. Could not send messages.
Review 53:The stairs are a bit tricky!
Review 54:Excellent renovation of a very old property. Very friendly hosts and excellent breakfast.

Review 59:Everything! The owners are warm and friendly, attentive and helpful. The breakfasts are fresh and delicious, and our room was spotless.
Review 60:Have been here different times, and has always been a pleasure. Hospitality and high quality are the constant factor!
Review 61:I only have good things to say. Great staff, great room, close to town center, great breakfast. All good!
Review 62:you have to be carefull on the stairs. might need some grips were you can hold yourself
Review 63:Nice room friendly staff
Review 64:Everything was wonderful!
Review 65:Nothing at all
Review 66:Greeting, location, decoration facilities, breakfast
Review 67:personal service, food, decor
Review 68:Roadworks in middelburg.
Review 69:Great hosts, fantastic room, good breakfast and good knowledge of things going on.
Review 70:Being an old house it had very steep stairs, which were OK for us, but some might have difficulty.
Review 71:Very warm welcome, made to feel very much at home. Easy walking to town centre. Parking close at hand.
Review 72:Really good hotel, host is a really nice guy, the room is well cleaned up, and color of the room is prefect, and the breakfast of this hotel is the best I have ever had, 总而言之,非常好
Review 73:The walls are thin and noise travels easily through between rooms and the bathroom is very small. But this is being picky and neither of these things bothered us.
Review 74:Beautiful contemporary decorated B&B in historic Middelbug within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and town centre. Pretty streets and quiet surrounds, the hosts were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was large and tastefully decorated, including personal nespresso machine, with comfortable shared spaces and free wifi. The personalised buffet breakfast basket was exceptional and perhaps the best we have eaten in our many travels across Europe, and the same could also be true for the accommodation as a whole. Can definitely recommend and would definitely choose to stay here again if returning to Middelburg.
Review 75:Excellent B&B - a very warm welcome to a lovely residence. Loved the breakfast selection - we had our own breakfast buffet presented at the table. Very nice room and en suite facilities.
Review 76:Everything was excellent: the owners were friendly; the breakfast was very good; the room was comfy, clean and tastefully decorated. Great place.
Review 77:The owners were super friendly and breakfast great! Located on a quiet street within walking distance from the train and the city center. I would definitely go back.
Review 78:Not being able to stay longer. However, when I return I will be staying at this location.
Review 79:We were staying in Middelburg for two weeks on business and my wife located this gem. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the owners with a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The building is beautifully renovated with modern touches and the old world charm. The rooms are very nice and were quite comfortable for our my multi-week visit. They were also very accommodating with the breakfast schedule as well since I had to depart early for business each morning. Middelburg is beautiful city and this B&B is a short walk from everything you need. I simply can't say enough for the kindness and hospitality the owners show towards their guests. They've truly nailed it!
Review 80:The B&B is really well equipped and excellent value for money. The manager running the B&B is super-friendly in helping out and servicing his clients.
Review 81:The doors of the hotel rooms and some of the walls are painted black. Wecan't discuss tastes, but we had the feeling of staying in a funeralparlour rather than in a hotel room. Unfortunately, the drain-pipe ofthe shower was clogged, so that we couldn't take a shower.Otherwise, the used water would have spilled over into the room. The"bathroom"is very tiny and uncomfortable. It is, in fact, notmore than a toilet with a shower. Perhaps, other rooms have moreadequate bathroom's facilities. At breakfast, the waiter, withoutasking, immediately turned on banal pop music. As we were the onlyguests, why didn't he have the courtesy to ask us whether we likedto hear that disgusting "music"?
Review 82:Very warm and cheerful welcome by one of the owners. Spaciousroom, comfortable bed, stylish lounge and excellent location inthe city center.
Review 83:This was an amazing bed and breakfast. Kind ownership, beautifully remodeled, and well located. The warmth they offer makes your stay incredible, and the breakfast is great. I would not stay anywhere else in the area, and I would travel back to the city just to stay here! Excellent overall, on all counts.
Review 84:No criticisms.
Review 85:This was the best hotel visit of my life. Middelburg was a perfect town, with its Friday afternoon market; Simon and Peter were fantastic hosts always catering to our every wish and recommending local attractions; and the space they have created is chic, inviting, and comfortable. Top quality coffee, water, and tea available in the rooms; beautiful contemporary design features everywhere. The breakfast was fantastic. Hats off to them for such a wonderful job.
Review 86:This is a small B&B, however, the attention to detail in terms of the rooms and the breakfast suggested a bigger and wider ambition. The friendliness, comfort and consideration that I witnessed means that when I return to this area I would not have to look any further for first class accommodation.
Review 87:Bathroom was a bit on the small side, but the modernity of it compensated well for this. More seating for breakfast would be appreciated.
Review 88:Clean, modern rooms. Staff goes above and beyond to help you have a great stay, very accommodating. Delicious breakfast!
Review 89:As we stayed only one night the check-in and check-out times did not give us very long there.
Review 90:The couple who ran the B&B were very friendly. The design and care shown in the interiors was very special. The breakfast was very good. A very comfortable night.A 'typical' Dutch
Review 91:- Room space is good for weekend trip or short travel but not for longer journey. - Same goes for the bathroom that is fairly small but enough for one day trip.
Review 92:- Nice renovated place which benefits from excellent location in the middle of Middelburg. - Friendly staff who even provided us with bikes to visit the town on Sunday. - Also nice breakfast served on large table shared with other customers of the B&B.
Review 93:This is a fabulous B&B; one of the best I can ever remember. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the greeting and advice warm and useful.
Review 94:The room was very nice, luxury. Very friendly hosts assisting us where needed but not too involved. Location was very good. We could store our bikes and see the island on our rythm.
Review 95:Unfortunately it was warm weather and only one window opened about 5 inches. We were on the sunny side so the room was extremely uncomfortable as it did not cool in the evening. Such a shame you could not open the 2 big windows
Review 96:Very comfortable bed..Newly renovated room with lovely bathroom. Very pleasant outside garden area. Very nice management and staff.
Review 97:We received a wonderful welcome on arrival. It being a hot day we sat in the garden with a couple of beers and gin and tonics. The attention to detail is outstanding and the beds are super comfortable. Can't wait to go back!
Review 98:A really lovely place to stay. The room was lovely, the breakfast was great, we were able to enjoy it out in the courtyard garden. The owner was very kind and helpful, it is apparently a new venture but everything was so well done that we wouldn't have guessed it.
Review 99:Beautiful B&B, restored to perfection. We booked two rooms and both were very comfortable. "Middelburg" was at the back and bigger, very quiet. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice. We will book again on our next visit. The host was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Free parking was a bit further from the B&B but paid parking around the corner and can easily be done if you arrive in the evening.
Review 100:non
Review 101:We stayed only for one night at the "Apeldoorn Suite", a very comfortable modern room with a coffee/teamaker, excellent bathroom with shower everything all brandnew, we nonhad breakfast with fresh strawberries, we recommend this B&breakfast when staying in Zeeland. (this place isn't convenient for disabled because of the stairs). Mrs. and Mr. Vaz Dias Israel.
Review 102:We absolutely adored this place. The owners have put their hearts and souls into creating the sort of stylish and friendly hotel that you look for and never usually find. They have successfully convertd a listed building into a wonderful boutique hotel and the breakfast is superb. Great location too.
Review 103:Super nice hosts, that have created a very nice B&B. Very tasteful interior. The both, Peter and Simon, are very caring and try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room was very big and we felt very comfortable, but there is a steep stair going upstairs (which is quite normal in the old houses), so older or handicapped guests should have that in mind! Very nice breakfast is served by them. Definitely recommendable!
Review 104:I hope to come back soon
Review 105:Nicely situated in historic part of Middelburg. Quiet. Clean, up to date and well organised. Cosy breakfast with other guests.
Review 106:fresh products for breakfast which tasted as if arrived that morning straight from the farm superbly renovated and decorated building
Review 107:They do not have stairs
Review 108:Hotel managers are extremely kind Nice decoration. Good breakfast
