Reviews for Monte Do Alamo - Turismo Rural

Review 1:In case you don't have a car you need to walk downhill to Tavira in about 15 minutes. A pleasant walk if you're fit. Alternatively, you can take a taxi.

Review 2:Beautiful house and surroundings, harmonious atmosphere, excellent food and nice company. Honestly, there is nothing more we could wish. Definitely a place on our list for a second visit. Frank and Hodon

Review 3:Some rooms with view on the garden had a higher roomrate although there were not bigger in size. The roomrates are a bit overpriced compared to the 2 other places we stayed during our holiday in the Algarve. From time to time a bad wifi-connection

Review 4:Wonderful quiet location in the countryside but only a short 5m drive from the beautiful town of Tavira. The day before our arrival the owners sent us a clear route description on how to get to their guesthouse which was very handy and useful as the streets have no names in the Algarve :) Breakfast is served outside on the lovely terrace next to the garden. Breakfast was good but (for us) a bit limited and nothing special compared to the 2 other B&B's we stayed in the Algarve. On Saturdayevening the owners invite their guests to join them for a traditional homemade 3 course dinner at their terrace (for the price of 27,5 euro pp) which we found a very nice initiative and we enjoyed it very much! It was the highlight of our stay at Monte do Alamo. The food that Rosario and her husband prepared was delicious and we got the opportunity to talk to the hosts and the other guests and to taste the local specialities! The host couple has a very cute little dog named Rita. Although my friend and I are not really "dog lovers" we just found her so adorable :)

Review 5:- Uncomfortable beds in which you feel the iron springs. Unbelievable that such matrasses are made at all and even more surprising that these were selected by the owner to put in such nice rooms. - B&B is not equipped with enough tables (4 tables) to allow all guest (7 couples) have breakfast. "You'll have to wait till a table becomes free" - Although in the middle of large country side, it is close to roads with a lot of traffic in the background, it won't keep you awake though.

Review 6:Very well designed and beautiful rooms with lots of cupboards Lots of good tips around Tavira from the host Home made marmalades

Review 7:Nothing

Review 8:This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Rosario, Luis, Inés (and Maria) made us feel so welcome. The evening meals shared with them are special. They are also very informative so helped us to make the most of our stay

Review 9:The hospitality of Rosaria and her family was excellent. Having dinner at Monte do Alamo with Rosaria, her famy and other guests was an experience not to be missed.

Review 10:Just sit on the terrace and you can feed yourself with stunning view of Tavira and Atlantic Ocean. Breakfast is just perfect, they make delicious coffee and have even tomato jam. The owners and the staff are very, very kind and always want to help You. And if You don't speak português, don't worry they speak very well english. The city is 20 minutes walking distance and taxi costs 5€ and takes just 5minutes.

Review 11:It's just a bit far to walk to tavira

Review 12:The hosts are lovely and the food fantastic. It's a lovely setting a great place to completely relax and get away from it all

Review 13:They treat you as long time friends And make feel like you are at home. Great location close to town but in a country. Dinner with Rosario and Louis is a must.

Review 14:Not too much sound proofing, but the guests here tend to be of the well-mannered sort, so also not much of a problem.

Review 15:Pleasantly furnished tasteful modern accommodations. Very comfortable bed, modern bathroom. Friendly, very forthcoming service. Good location just outside Tavira. This place, Tavira and its beaches are a perfect combination to relax and enjoy an unspoiled part of the Algarve.

Review 16:Perfect hosts perfect place to relax

Review 17:Excellent availability of all members of the owner family

Review 18:Small intimate setting and wonderful personal connection with the owners.

Review 19:Wonderful quiet location with stunning views, excellent breakfast and evening meal cooked by our hosts

Review 20:Great hosts - friendly and helpful Nice garden with places to relax Nice food Accessible to tavira only a 20min walk Beautiful house

Review 21:Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful healthy local food. Chill out & enjoy!

Review 22:beautiful place and garden. Lots of places to enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings. The staff and the owner were very helpfull and made our stay pleasant.

Review 23:The only con, I'd say, was that it's a bit of a more difficult walk into town than I expected. The walk down to the center of town was indeed about 20 minutes, but back up the hill was about 30. The walk was through a field, which was pretty during the day, but the path wasn't well cleared and it got very, very dark at night - in retrospect, not a great idea to walk back up after dinner. It's a very short 5m drive into town, though, so if you're planning to go into town for dinner and don't mind driving, then I would 10000% suggest Monte do Alamo!

Review 24:Beautiful views of town, very secluded and romantic, great places to sit and read and enjoy the quiet. Rosario, the owner, and her husband were incredibly kind and helpful. They suggested spot-on restaurants and beaches went out of their way for us. Breakfast was lovely. Tavira is hands down the best and most beautiful town we visited on our trip along the entire Algarve coast. So if you're looking for a town and want to get out of the way of British pubs and tourists, you can stop looking.

Review 25:This place is a little gem in the Algarve. Wonderful location, very friendly owners and breakfast and dinners are outstanding. We are happy recommend this place and will be back again soon.

Review 26:Monte Do Alamo was one of the most friendly places, which one could visit. Rosario and Luiz were perfect hosts. The rooms were clean and the gardens and land round the hotel were delightfully rustic. The views over the surrouding countryside and coast from the gardens was outstanding. The meal, which they gave us was delicious and of the highest order. Very professional throughout.

Review 27:Little hard to find, but the owners want it that way.

Review 28:That it is just outside the city so was easy to get into the city, butdidn't have to deal with the crowds. Owners very helpful andfriendly. Staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast was fantastic.

Review 29:I liked the warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere. The owners are most kind and nothing appears to be too much trouble. Monte Do Alamo is a beautiful house, there are lovely comfortable beds and access to the family lounge. This is all set within very peaceful grounds in which to relax on the terrace or in hammocks set under shady trees. Breakfasts were simple but more than adequate and an evening meal with our hosts was delicious and a chance to experience traditional Portugese fare and wine. All in all a lovely place to spend time on holiday.

Review 30:All expectations far exceeded. Rosario and Luiz were wonderful hosts.Very relaxing environment. Perfect location for visiting Tavira andexploring the eastern Algarve. All the beaches, restaurants and golfcourses of the region are within a short drive. Rosario and Luiz cookauthentic Portuguese food 2-3 times a week which we thoroughly enjoyed.Excellent cuisine with good company. Very comfortable clean room. Montedo Alamo is like a home from home without the stress. Highlyrecommended. We will be returning in the very near future.

Review 31:We spent a very memorable 4 nights at Monte do Alamo. We had a lovely room which opened out on to a deck overlooking Tavira towards the ocean. We were welcomed into this lovely home as if we were family friends, It included breakfast and dinner was extra if required. We ate with the family 3 nights out of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed their warm and inclusive hospitality and delicious authentic Portugese cooking. We loved our stay at this working farm and eating the delicious produce grown on the property. We feel as if we have made new friends, I thoroughly recommend this property!

Review 32:Superb, probably one of our best traveling experiences,Rosario and Luis were the perfect hosts. This is what hospitality is all about and their hotel is beautifully designed, in a fabulous position.

Review 33:Jam and fruit served at breakfast was all grown on site. Hosts were delightful, welcoming and knowledgable.
